[SP-F1] Boar Slayer?

Ronin had just crafted some new gear and it was time to put it to the test.  He left his dinky little shop and headed straight out into the grassy fields outside of town, wanting to try his newest creations out right away.  He equipped his new shield and the armor that Mack had given him a couple days prior, then he prepared himself.  Spotting a wild boar up ahead, he approached the creature, knowing this was the true test to see whether anything he made was worth a damn.  As he approached the boar however, three more came up over the hill and into view, eventually surrounding him.  "Alright... guess this is a real test now..." he smirked slightly, hoping his gear wouldn't let him down now.  He needed to get some more materials anyway, so why not!

He launched his first attack against one of the four boars, injuring it just slightly.  This group was a little tougher than any he had gone up against yet.  He would have to be careful and make sure he didn't end up getting killed.  From what he knew, his armor could withstand a pretty good amount of damage, so he figured he would be alright against these four for now.  If things did get hairy, he would have to try and run away and go work on some better armor for himself.  This was a trial run after all and sometimes things went wrong.  All of the boars came at him at once, missing their attacks.  Ronin smirked, going again!

Ronin had also crafted a new weapon, which he was also testing out on this little outing of his.  It wasn't his usual two handed sword, but it was just a rusty little makeshift shank he had put together.  Fortunately, it did about the same amount of damage as his sword did, which was pretty surprising.  He smirked and launched his attack, hitting one of the boars before they all lunged into him again.  He braced himself behind his shield and armor and as the boars landed there attacks, they suddenly received damage from the shield's enhancement and burst into a hundred tiny crystal like shards.  Ronin peeked up from behind his shield and nodded his head.  This was perfect!  Suddenly four more boars spawned and he rushed into the group of them again, continuing to test his new gear.

Each of the wild boars landed again and once again, each of them received more damage than their hit points could take, resulting in their demise.  "Wow, this is nuts!" cried Ronin, peeking out from behind his new shield again.  It was the first perfect item he had managed to craft in the game so far and he could see why it had been so hard to achieve.  This thing was making short work of these boars and he had already collected eight materials from just two waves of them.  At this rate, he would have a ton of materials stacked up in no time!  "Let's keep this up!" he cried, rushing into the new spawning group and challenging them again.

"YES! This rocks!" he shouted, watching as all the boars burst into crystals again.  This was too easy and he was loving it.  Thsi new shield of his was proving to be the ultimate weapon and did way more damage than his damn weapon did.  He shook his head, not entirely understanding, but not really caring either.  If this was how hte system had designed things, then he was going to make use of it.  He rushed into another mob, not wanting to rest while he was doing so good and gaining so many materials.  He was up to twelve now and wanted to keep going as long as he could.  He attacked again and waited to see another shower of crystal all around him.

Ronin stopped, catching his breath.  He was keeping an eye on his HP now, noticing that it was dropping by four each time these groups of boars attacked.  As long as they landed, his armor would help him to take only one damage from each of them, while his shield would ensure that they were killed.  However, too many rounds of this would ultimately result in his own death and he had to make sure not to let his health get too low.  There was always the chance they could land a critical hit on him and kill him, so he had to be cautious, even with all this great gear.  For now, he waited and allowed his HP to regen.

Taking a few deep breaths, he did his best to relax his shoulders and keep his mind calm.  He wanted to rush right in and start getting after these boars again, but his HP still had a little more regening to do before it was full.  He would just have to wait one more round outside of battle and it would replenish to max.  He was curious of how easy this would be once he had a much higher health bar, knowing that he would have to stop less frequently to allow it to refill.  For now, this was going pretty smooth anyway and he decided he couldn't complain at all.  He had already made sixteen materials!

Once his HP hit the max again, he smiled and rushed straight into the newest spawn group of boars.  It was interesting how they always spawned in fours and he was loving the easy way to gain all these extra materials.  With all this work, he would be able to head back to his shop and craft tons of new gear, well at least as much as his skill would allow him to each day.  He jumped into the new group, thrusting his little rusty shiv forth in an attempt to stab one of the boars, they all rushed in headbutting him as he crouched behind his shield and defended.

"Incredible!" he shouted as the crystals showered down around him again.  These boars were popping like zits on some teen's face and Ronin couldn't get enough.  Every time they attacked, they were killed and this last time, his little shiv hadn't even landed against one of them to begin with.  This was way better than sitting around trying to hack them down one by one with his sword, doing a measly two damage at a time.  That would take forever!  This, this was the way to go!  This, was the way he was going to get a ton of materials in no time at all!  "AGAIN!" he cried, rushing into the newly spawning mob.

The sound of shattering glass rained all around him and he peeked over his perfect shield once again, seeing that all the boars had been dispatched.  He smirked ear to ear, unable to contain his excitement.  He had been missing out on this action since beginning, but gladly he had given this a shot and it was paying off, ten fold.  He had already collected twenty four materials now, which was way more than he had gotten from any quest or any other mob run thus far.  This was the real definition of farming and he was glad he was finally figuring it out.  It was all about the gear in this game and finally, he had some that wasn't worthless!  "Again, Again, again!!" he cried, rushing into the new spawning mob and attacking.

"[censored] man... I had it all wrong before," Ronin sighed, shaking his head in disbelief over how stupid he had been previously.  He had wasted so much time, done so much, put in so much work, and came up so light handed.  It was disgusting to think that he hadn't figured this out sooner.  He was just glad that he had it figured out now and he was making great strides in such a short amount of time.  This was going to help out his shop and his blacksmithing skill a ton and he couldn't wait to get back to Seventh Heaven and get some more crafting done.  "HAAA" he cried, rushing into another spawning mob of four wild boars.

Time after time, the boars rushed in and as soon as they attacked, his shield did the rest of the work, killing them instantly as they attacked.  It was like magic and Ronin was loving it.  He didn't really have to do anything.  If he wanted, he could probably just sit down and let them run in thrashing against his shield and armor and killing themselves off time and time again.  It was incredible and the swordsman couldn't be happier.  He was already over thirty materials collected and had even gotten some Col from a loot drop as well.  "Let's take a little break..." he decided, knowing he needed to let his HP regen a little.

The blacksmith wondered if he ought to spark up a cigarette while he was waiting for his health to replenish.  He sighed and looked toward the sky.  It was already mid day, if not later and soon the sun would be heading toward the horizon.  There was still a lot of things he wanted to get done today and he wondered if he ought to call this quits for now.  No, he needed to keep this up... he was doing so well and gaining so many materials so quickly.  Just a little longer at least.  Besides, it's not like he was really breaking a sweat or anything.

One more moment of hanging around and his health would get another six points of regen and he'd be back to full.  He smirked, loving this system right now and trying to make hte most of it.  He had been falling behind a little bit in the last couple of days, but he wanted to get back on track and felt like this wa the way he was going to do it.  He nodded his head, feeling resfreshed as his health returned to full.  He looked toward the new spawn of wild boars and he flashed his teeth, wielding his rusty shiv and sprinting into the fray.  "Here I come again!!!" he cried.

Sprinting across the grassy field, Ronin plowed into the group of boars at full speed.  He shoulder checked one, sending it toppling over onto its side.  He laughed and rolled over as well, noticing the animal was kicking its legs and having trouble getting back up.  Unfortunately, the others had been scared by his sudden intrusion into their group and their thrashing nad kicking missed him on all sides.  He sighed, knowing his shield wouldn't have the damaging effect unless they made contact.  This was a problem, but he knew they probably wouldn't miss again on the next round.

Rolling back to his feet, Ronin dove toward another of the boars, deciding he would spread out his attacks this time and try to injure another of them instead of just picking on one the whole time.  While this wasn't the smartest strategy and would ensure the longest time spent battling these creatures, he was still counting on the enhancements of his shield to lend him a hand.  He smirked and slashed his shiv at the creature, hoping to do some damage and hoping this time, the creatures wouldn't miss in their own attacks!

Unfortunately, this time, not only did the wild boars miss again, but the swordsman turned blacksmith missed as well.  He hit the ground, rolling head over heels and laying there in the grass for a moment.  His eyes fell upon the sky above and he grinned wide.  What a beautiful day this was and he was feeling quite alright.  Despite trying to battle a bunch of wild boars out in the field, he hadn't taken much damage at all and was going to be able to get back to the shop without any serious injuries at all.  This was the way to do things!  Pushing himself back up to a stand, Ronin launched his latest attack! "HA!"

That all too familiar sound of shattering glass rained down all around him, causing his ears to perk up and his lips to grin.  He was loving this little farming action today and was reaping the rewards from it.  He pushed himself back up to his feet and locked eyes with the newest mob that was spawning just a few yards away.  He was glad the respawn time was so quick on these wild boars, allowing him to keep up the pace and collect as many materials as possible.  "Here we go!" he cried, lunging high into the air and driving down upon them from above for his latest attack.

"Man, I'm starting to get tired," he sighed, lowering his head slightly.  He had done a little damage on his last attack, but the boars continued to miss him time and time again.  He needed them to land their attacks for his shield to work its magic and grant the damage against his foes.  Then he could get one last batch or two of materials and head back to his shop.  This had proved to be a pretty good little farming expedition and he knew he could always make use of it again in the future if he needed to restock his materials.  "Come on stupid boars, hit me!" he cried out, taunting them on.

"C'mon you idiots! I'm right here!" he shouted as they all missed again.  His fatigue had caused him to miss as well and the exchange had proved absolutely useless.  He sighed, knowing that he was helpless to do anything about it.  He had to rely on the mechanics of the game and sometimes, no matter how hard he swung or how hard he tried, he would miss.  It was unfortunate and he knew that he had to do the best he could.  Perhaps once his skills increased, he would learn to overcome these types of inaccuracies and do more damage.  For now, he was simply hoping that the boars would land one and be killed.  The next attack was launched and Ronin focused his mind, hoping to end this!
