Ken 0 Posted April 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Profile Username: Ken Real name: Naoko Yasumoto Age: November 6, 2000 (22) Gender: M Height: 6'2" About: History/personality ...Naoko and his sister, Sango, were born to a regular middle class family in Nara, Japan. Since their birth, the two siblings were nearly inseparable, becoming best friends and always looking out for each other. Despite being so close, the two could not have been any more different. On one hand, Sango was bubbly, fun-loving, and always smiling, whereas Naoko was lazy and always bored. Naoko's apathetic outlook on life carried with him throughout his child hood. In school, he would only do what was necessary to get by with average grades and graduate. However, he had the mind and potential to do so much more.. he just had little care for it. But despite how much he did not care for petty things, Naoko was always there for his sister no matter what. Sango appreciated everything her brother did for him, but wanted him to find something more to do with his life, to find a hobby of some sorts rather than just sleep all day. Taking into account his interest for video games that required time and commitment, Sango bought a gift for Naoko's birthday that she knew he would love. It was a new video game, called Sword Art Online, that completely engulfed the player into the virtual world. She thought she could buy the game for her brother to bring more of a smile to his face, and eventually get the game herself to join him from time to time. Naoko felt that the game could actually prove to be a challenge for once, so donning the alias, Ken, he entered the world of Aincrad. He soon found that 'challenge' was quite the understatement when the players realized, merely an hour after joining, they would not be able to log out until the game's completion, their actual lives on the line. ...Naoko is naturally a lazy person and his inclination is to do as little work as possible. As a student and even into his early adulthood, Naoko was able to get away with this, spending his days sleeping, watching the clouds, or playing video games. His goal is to live free of anything major, both good and bad, and then to die just as unremarkably as he lived. When he is faced with the potential for conflict or commitment, he responds first by saying, "whatever," and then by trying to find some way out of it, either by pretending to be indisposed or even outright saying that he doesn't want to do whatever it is. Virtues: Protective: As he grew with his sister by his side, Naoko learned just what it was like to have a best friend that he would do anything for. Countless times, he would protect her from some sort of danger or something that upset her, and she would do the same for him. This 'older brother' trait carried with him into the game as Ken, defending anyone that showed him any sort or kindness, or those he felt could be crucial in helping him get back to the real world. Blunt: Naoko is not a fan of when people candy coat things or beat around the bush. He feels that it just does not help out in the long run, and is a hassle to his life to come up with some lie or fancy way to break information to someone. When Naoko needs to tell someone the truth, no matter how much it hurts them, he will tell it to them. He knows that they will eventually get over it and see how much his words helped them, over him lying and the other person ending up hurt in the end anyway. Minimalistic: Naoko just wants to survive and go home. He does not care for shiny armor, powerful weapons, or being some sort of hero. He only needs the basic needs to get by. He would not burden himself, as well as others, with the task of helping him to reach a higher level or get better equipment to protect him, for he could easily keep safe by just not putting himself in danger. Flaws: Lazy: Naoko does not want to do anything. Especially if it puts his life in danger. He would much rather just find an inn and sleep all day, or find a nice grassy spot in the safe zone and stare at the clouds all day. Why would he go so far as to work hard to get himself out of the game if there were already tough players working to do so. He would only get in the way if he joined them up there. Uncaring: Naoko is not an evil man. Of course he is saddened by the loss of another life in the world, and wants to get out of the game just as much as everyone else. However, he does not mope around and mourn or complain about what happened. He simply moved on with life. Its not like he had any friends that are playing the game with him, so what does it matter to him. For now, he simply keeps to himself in hopes he could survive and make it home. Bored: Naoko finds himself getting bored very easily. He always would find tasks either too easy, too much of a hassle, or find flaws in it. This is why his sister had purchased Sword Art Online for him, to create a challenge that he would not be able to complete and get bored of so easily. At first, Naoko believed that Sword Art could be just what he needed in his life. However, once Ken's life became his own, and his life became endangered, he began to keep to himself, finding all of the small things to do around the towns bothersome and boring.
