[SP-F1] The Tip of the Spear

Heavy pants riddled Date's body as he stared down the pig before him. Tusks curled to a point as it snorted into the air. Twirling his spear around, he snapped the pole into his palm as he aimed it for the boar. Dashing forward, the brunette expelled a grunt as he pulled the spear back before thrusting it forward. The tip of the spear pierced through the blue furred hog as it squealed and scampered about. Jumping back, Date prepped a defensive stance for the creatures inevitable counter attack. Gritting his teeth, he rocked back and forth. Reday to move the second the creature charged.

Beady red eyes focused on the player before it. Nostrils flaring as he snorted into the sky. The boar dug his hooves into the dirt as he prepared to charge the spear-wielding youth. he had only began to move when he saw a sudden burst of movement and felt a sharp foreign object cut into his side. Tumbling back, the pig squealed in pain as it moved around to get a better view of the player. Snorting once more, he lowered his head. Keeping his tusks leveled with the man as he sprinted forward, the beast swept his tusks up only to catch air as the man nimbly evaded.

Just as he had assumed, the boar charged forth. His head was lowered, parallel with the ground as he quickly turned his head up, attempting to snag the him with them. Date saw this coming and deftly dashed to the right, quickly avoiding the piercing tusks. Readying his own attack, he darted forward and much like a hammer, he brought his pole-arm down upon the beast. However, this attack missed as the boar rolled out of the way at the last second.

Still awe-stricken by his failed attempt, the boar nearly missed his window of escape as the spear holder came charging at him. Looking back, the boar saw the might pole come swinging down with a vengeance, forcing him to quickly roll to the left to evade being struck. Squealing once again, he pawed the ground before letting loose another charge at the player. Nearly galloping, he tucked himself in as he rammed into the player, sending him sliding backwards as his health began to fall.

Did I really just miss this over-sized hog? Hmmph... Gritting his teeth, Date stepped back to put some distance between himself and the boar. However, this attempt proved futile as he was suddenly knocked back into the grassy field. Wind ejected from him as he clutched his chest between coughs. He slowly picked himself up, gasping for air with each forced breath as he retrieved his spear. His eyes narrowed with each calming breath, signaling that he intended to kill this boar here and now. Clutching his spear, he charged forward and forced his spear tip through the beast, causing it to explode into polygon fragments.

Panted breaths expelled from his airways as he bent over and to catch his breath once more. Tapping the accept button from the loot pop-up window, he collected his staff and placed it on his back. Securing it with a strap he wore across his shoulder. Spotting a rock not to far off, he decided to go seek some recovery in the shade of the tree above it. He'd need to regain hiS energy before he could proceed with anymore training. His Health while fine, was due for some recovery as well.

Once beneath the tree, Date sat atop the rock and stretched out. He would simply rest a bit until he was back in peak condition.

As his health climbed back to full he opted to lounge just a bit longer as he needed a little more time to fully recover his energy. Taking a look around, he noticed the lack of players in the area. If he recalled correctly, the first floor was notorious for housing a majority of its ten thousand players. So to no see a soul around was rather peculiar. Shaking the thought loose, he glanced about the area. There might be some more of those leafy materials I can use for when I get my profession. Much to his dismay, he didn't spot a single material around.

With all vitals checking out, Date observed the green fields and searched for another boar. While initially none were in sight, one spawned not more than a few yards away from him. A criminal grin laced his features as he stared the creature down and unlatched his spear from his back. Light steps thudded against the grassy patches as he broke into full sprint, launching himself int the air. Grasping his spear and aiming it down, he plunged the pole-arm in to the pig before removing it and kicking it in the other opposite direction.

Rustled blades of grass alerted the boar to the danger that it was in. Turning its heady, beady crimson red irises widened as he watched the spear drop from the sky and plunge itself into the boar. Agonized snorts emanated from the creature as the pole-arm was removed and he felt a kick to his backside as he went tumbling into the grassy hill. Rolling onto his feet, the boar bucked and dug into the mound of grass. Anger rising, he charged forward with intent to kill.

"Umf" gasped the brunette as he was knocked back once again. Getting the wind knocked out of me twice is twice two many... Thought Date as he struggled once more to not only regain his breath but his composure. The red digital scars quietly flickered on his body before dissipating into nothing. Exhaling, he closed his eyes and breathed. Fluttering open, he glared at the pig as he shot forward with his spear outstretched. The spear cut into the pig causing it to explode just like the one before it.

Trudging back to the rock from earlier, he took residence upon it once more and continued to scour the fields for materials while his vital regenerated. He was beginning to get the hang of combat with a spear. He still needed to work on his fluidity and mobility but overall his progress was evident. Looking over the ground, he thoroughly checked each rock, nook, and cranny in an attempt to find another material. His luck seemed to still be just as bad as before as he saw nothing.

A sigh escaped him once more as he continued to search around the greenery. His health was nearly replenished and his energy was already back at full. The brunette brought his face closer to the ground as he crawled along the hill around the rock. The tree above still seemed to be providing excellent shade despite the sun no longer being at its highest point for the day. Expelling a sigh, the young man felt ready to give up when suddenly he caught a glimpse of another boar. Looks like this'll have to wait again.

Gripping his spear, the young man darted down towards the boars area once again and put his full motion into the attack as he swung for the left side of the blue-furred tusked animal. His spear narrowly missed the beast as it bucked up, causing his spear to get lodged into the ground as his full weight coming crashing down. Tch, and just when I thought I was getting get good at this too. Guess I have to play defensive for a bit, thought the man as he unhitched the spear from the ground.

The pig felt rumbles against the ground as it grazed on the digital grass offered to it by the system known as Cardinal. Looking up, the rushing figure of a player startled it causing it to buck up and move out of the way. As the spear-man had his weapon lodged into the ground, the boar squealed and charged at him. Head lowered as customary for most of the creatures for that level, it brought its tusk up right as it anticipated it would make contact. The boar managed to land a solid hit as it knocked Date up into the air.

Eyeing the crazed beast, Date felt like the beast was gonna be like the rest. He was wrong however as the pig not only connected its charge but lifted the young man into the air with a flick of its neck. Not to high off the ground, the spear user grinned as he used the effects of gravity against the pig. Aiming his spear down, he poised himself to puncture the boar on his descent down. Just as he dropped he activated <Heft> and speared the tusked pig into the ground.

A squeal of horror followed by one of agony emitted from the monster as it was speared into the ground by the player. Unsure of what to do, the hog continued to squeal and scramble as it attempted to set itself free. The attempt was futile however as it was pinned to the ground. Making up it's mind, the boar tried to raise its tusks up in an attempt to damage the player from where it was at. The attack proved to be futile as the pig was unable to wiggle far enough to make a difference.

Date grinned. Amused at the petty attempt at damaging him once it was pinned into the ground. A barely audible chuckle escaped him as he un-speared the beast and leaped back. His grin only grew as he propelled himself further. The tip of his spear glinting from the sun as it whizzed through the air. Pixels specked the air before dissolving as Date lowered his spear. The crimson pole-arm looking taxed as it was placed confidently back on his back. However, his grn slackened as he heard the squeal of the pig. Did I really just miss this thing?

The boar squealed once again as the blood red spear whizzed past it destroying the rock atop the hill during the process. Scampering around, it bucked and darted for the youth once more. Feeling confident as the young man had put away his weapon and was completely exposed from behind. Tusks gleamed at the point as the boar charged, another squeal of revenge coming from it as it lifted its head to try and stab the spear wielder. The attack missed however as the battle cry of the pig gave away it's position.

Leaping straight up, Date avoided the boar's ridiculous attempt on his life. Unhitching his spear, he swung the pole-arm around once more and somersaulted behind the beast. He planned to not make the same mistake again. Keeping his eyes on the target, he rocketed forward. His spear eager to taste blood, or whatever the digital equivalent of blood would entail, again. The wide arcing thrust he unleashed would prove successful as the creature exploded into polygons before him. Accepting the loot window once again, he opted to begin heading back instead of sticking around.

Taking one final look around, the brunette strapped his spear to his back once more. His eyes darted from grass patch to grass patch as he passed along the fields back towards the Starting City. As he neared the safety of the gates, Date took a moment to thoroughly look around. His sights settled on a a clover like plant. Walking towards it, he plucked the stem from the ground and collected it as a material. Finally satisfied, he returned to the safety of the city. He'd be out cold tonight.
