[F3-SP] Mat Hunting <<Search for The Hoya>>

Ratatosk had a lot of catching up to do, almost an entire week of slacking off wasn't good for him. "Damnit! I'll never become a front liner if I slack off like this, I need to do another quest." He looked at the bulletin board once again, and saw <<Search for The Hoya>>. "This seems like a good quest, that's a lot of experience too! I'm taking this quest, going to be really easy, then I can go hunt for some materials on my way back to town." His decision was made, he would kill the Minotaur and obtain the Hoya, probably just to throw it away into a gutter or something cause it was useless.

Ratatosk unsheathed his blade and started running to the Forests of Wavering Mists, seeing if he can spot the Minotaur. "No Minotaur here, I need to look farther!" He ran as fast as his legs could carry him, leaving a small trail of dust behind him. His running came to a stop when he spotted something, a gigantic humanoid being towering above him. The Minotaur jumped down from its high rock to face Ratatosk. The blonde held his blade tightly, "So you're the one I have to kill? Good, you'll be an easy one, I'm glad that I met you." He activated the sword art Deadly Sins and quickly ended the Minotaur.

Ratatosk sheathed the Anneal Blade when he finished the Minotaur. "Too easy, now when are there going to be quests that are actually challenging? That Minotaur was pretty fun to kill, but he died in one hit. Maybe I can search for a sub dungeon one day, and then do it with someone else. Yup, that sounds good, all I need to do is explore the fifth floor and above." The blonde walked out of the battlefield and was greeted with another forest. "Time to search for materials I guess, or fight a few monsters. I guess searching for materials won't hurt."

He kept his eyes open for anything that looked like a material, "Lots of rocks, some pieces of [censored], and roots. [censored], looks like there won't be any materials here." Ratatosk figured he'd need to hunt a few monsters to get materials, that would be the easier way out but also more dangerous. "Nope, not doing that until my energy is back up, I can't risk going into battle without full energy." The blonde unsheathed his Anneal Blade again and looked around for some monsters, but while he was doing that, he also searched for a material.

Ratatosk kept searching, but there was no luck for him. "Guess it's time to fight some monsters, I'll need to go with the ones that can drop materials, it'll be a bit of a pain to do since my weapons aren't tier two. That's fine though, I do decent damage at max, I should be fine." He sheathed the sword and went back to material hunting, right now that was more important than fighting monsters. "Let's see here, more rocks, roots, looks like there isn't anything good that I can use, damnit! Wait, is that a material?" He picked up a rock, it was suitable as a material but really ugly.

The blonde fiddled with his blade for a bit before going back to searching for materials. He spotted a group of monsters around and realized they were junior minotaurs. "Damn, those look like the things that I just killed." There were four of them, but he'd be cautious with what he did. "Maybe I'll engage them later, or maybe now." He needed a couple seconds to think about what he did, then he decided to attack them using the sword art Lightning Fall, "Materiallls!"

Ratatosk sheathed the blade, "That was easy, time to wait for my energy to recover." He did a peter pan off a cliff, and rolled all the way down to the bottom. "Oh [censored]! [censored] [censored] [censored] that hurt!" The blonde was grabbing onto his foot, but then remembered pain wasn't real in this game. "Oh right, it doesn't exist unless you think it exists. Well [censored], another lesson learned today." Hunting Minotaurs was easy, all it took was some luck, and a good weapon. "That's why I got you by my side." His Anneal Blade landed right next to him when he fell.

"Whoo, man. It's almost like things just keep getting harder as I move up the floors. But it's all very subtle, except for that fourteenth floor boss. Nobody thought it would be that strong, but it was anyways, and two players died. I can't believe it... Just how many more times does it take to beat this game?" He felt a pumping sensation in his blood, it was the time to act now. "Fight.... I need to fight to beat this game. There will be no more deaths, the savior of Aincrad is coming your way!" The blonde looked off into the distance, a bit doubtful of himself.

Ratatosk unsheathed the Anneal Blade from its scabbard again, "Looks like I have all my energy, time to kill some junior minotaurs again! Hell yeah, I ain't no bottom feeder anymore, I can fight like anyone else." The blonde put his blade on his back and looked into the fields for some junior minotaurs. "None there, oh, I see some." He was a bit hesitant to attack, most likely because his energy wasn't full. "Yup, going to need to wait for that. Definitely not gonna engage them head on right now, just need to wait a bit."

Ratatosk pulled his blade back and charged at the junior minotaurs. "Burn in hell!" A fire awoken in his eyes as he leapt from the ground. He used the sword art Lightning Fall, doing a back flip in mid-air and then landed, he noticed that one of the junior minotaurs didn't die yet so he took his blade from the ground and ran up to it, striking his blade furiously at it in a flurry of hits. "This is the final strike!" With one last stab, the junior minotaur was no more. "That was fun, time to wait again.

"More materials, wonder where the hell I'm going to put them? Of course, I'm not going to throw them away like the Hoya, maybe I'll sell them for some col! Nah, col doesn't really get you much. I much prefer to have some good equipment rather than be rich." To him, equipment was almost everything. Swords would save his life, armor would save his life, accessories would save his life. All those things would save his life and they were all made just from materials. "If I could get enough materials, I could give them to merchants so that more players can get free items. Sounds like a good idea, but I'd need to fight a lot of monsters for the materials."

Ratatosk sheathed the blade, there was no use for it when he wasn't in combat. "Searching for a damn material is too hard, it all depends on luck, and that isn't on my side when I'm the one searching. Guess I should probably stick to monster hunting huh, seems like the best thing I could possibly do right now." Eventually he'd be a frontliner just like the others, but that'd take some time. "No... I don't want to be like the others. I'M NOT A DOG!" The blonde's rage got out of control, he took a few deep breaths to calm down. "Right, I'm not a dog."

He wondered what his skill points would go into next, maybe parry or something else. "No, I need to grandmaster my one handed sword first! Then I'll do nine damage, and that's my goal. Soon after reaching that amount of skill points, I can equip tier two items, and then I'd need the athletics skill mod to do more damage." Damage was everything, almost everything anyways. He planned to have a build centered around fighting monsters, after all he'd be farming for a very long time on days like these.

Ratatosk mouthed a few words when his energy came back up. A smile struck his face, it was time to kill some junior minotaurs again! "Alright, let's see how long they can lost my attacks, this'll be one hell of a fight!" He rushed in there and used his sword art Lightning Fall, sadly though, it killed all of them when he landed on the ground. "[censored]! [censored] [censored] [censored]!" The blonde had his spirits up high for nothing, all that happened was a quadruple kill involving one hit again.

"My... [censored] god... FUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Ratatosk repeatedly stabbed his blade on the ground in rage, "God [censored] damnit! What the hell is this [censored] [censored]! There's never  even a good [censored] fight!" He huffed, and puffed, and blew down a little minotaur's house. "[censored]! Back to waiting again, this bull[censored] is really boring." The blonde did a few tricks with his blade to pass the time. He tried to spin the blade in his hand, but instead of actually spinning it, he hit the hilt against his forehead. "Oh [censored]!"

Ratatosk hit his head pretty hard against the hilt of his blade, it caused him to stagger and nearly fall. "Damnit! No more tricks for today, I need to wait for my energy to get back up. Probably going to fight some more junior minotaurs then leave once I'm done." He spun the blade correctly this time, and sheathed it. "Finally, how many more damn minutes do I need to wait? I've already killing twelve [censored] junior minotaurs already, do I really need to skill sixteen?" Of course, materials were very important so he decided that he would kill sixteen.

He got excited when he saw his energy go back to fifteen, "[censored] yeah! But I still need to spot a few minotaurs before I can fight, where the hell are they?" His eyes wandered across the third floor fields until he spotted something. "Aha! A minotaur!" The blonde ran over to it and raised his sword, but then the thing turned around. It was a player. Their face was filled with fear, Ratatosk then pulled his blade back and said sorry. "Oh [censored]! I'm sorry, I thought you were a monster, honest!" The player who was soon to be revealed as a girl stood up, "Baka."

They had a small little conversation about monsters, it was cool. "So you hope to be a front liner too some day? That's awesome, I do too!" The girl smiled and brought up a new topic, "What level are you anyways? I'm level seventeen, but my equipment isn't very good." Ratatosk stood there in silence for a few seconds, how could she trust him so easily? "I'm only level eight, I have on some decent equipment." The blonde tried to lie his way out of it, but she knew something was up. "Alright, tell me your real stats, I know you're not level eight cause I saw you kill those monsters." He sighed, then looked to his left, "Fine." His feet carried him to a group of monsters and used Lightning Fall. "Okay, I'm actually level fifteen with good equipment, sorry."

"So you're name is Amelie? I'm guessing you're from America then. Anyways, I'm Ratatosk." Amelie seemed a bit shocked when he said she was from America, "What! No, I'm from Britain, what about you?" He had a strange feeling down his spine, "I'm from Japan, y'know, where the servers are hosted." They kept walking and talking for a while until they came across the safezone. "C'ya later!" Amelie ran off while Ratatosk looked. "Guess I should rest now, good old safezone." The blonde rested his head on one of the walls, although not comfy it was at least calming.

Ratatosk started sliding down the wall, "[censored]!" But soon he regained his balance. "What the hell am I going to do today? I have sixteen materials and I have no idea what to do with them. Investing them sounds nice, but what store should I invest in? Nah, maybe I should keep them to myself and then trade it for something else." The blonde looked at the gate from time to time, seeing if there was anybody going to come into town. His eye caught a glimpse of a few orange cursors, "Hey, where the hell are you guys going!" Right after he shouted, a few guards started to chase them.
