[SP-F5] Searching for a dungeon

Allania woke up in the cave. The air was cold and there was little light permeating from the entrance. During the night she seemed to have rolled over and was facing the entrance. Yawning wide Allania crawled forward to check what the situation was like outside. It was still dark, but you could see the hints of the sun on the horizon, an orange glow lighting up the horizon. It would not be long until the sun was fully risen and the blazing heats once again scorched the desert.

Nudging Blaze awake Allania said "come on buddy, time to get up" before letting out yet another yawn and getting to her feet slowly. She almost forgot that the cave was too small for her to stand up in though she luckily remembered,saving her cranium from a hefty hit. Still hunched over Allania brushed the sand from her body and then walked outside the cave. Once outside Allania put her arms over her head and stretched out her back. Time to try and find another dungeon.

Allania looked out towards the horizon of the rising sun, as it was only in that direction that she could see anything, the opposite pole being shrouded in darkness. Searching the horizon Allania quickly spotted a group of enemies, a set of scorpions that would become her next target. She looked back at the cave entrance, just in time to see Blaze groggily trot out, "come on Blaze, we have work to do" she said with enthusiasm, motioning in the direction of the Scorpions that were about a mile away.

Now ready Allania set off for the Scorpions, walking at a brisk pace to reach them. It would not be 15 minutes before she reached them, so while she was walking she inspected her armour and weapons. First the pauldron, shining in the dull light, its orange trim shining, then the rose chest piece, the thorns adorning it vicious ripping tools and finally her dagger, it was a simple design but its edge was sharpened to a razor, causing extra damage when used. Satisfied that all was in check Allania with dagger in hand continued her walk.

With her pace what it was Allania quickly reached the scorpions. They had moved a little further away but when she had crested a nearby dunes she was easily able to see where they had wandered off to. Now just 50 meters from the scorpions Allania began to run at them, her dagger raised up in front of her face to protect herself. As she got within range, her presence being known by the scorpions from the sound of her running, they attacks, their tails launching towards her which she deftly deflected with her dagger before attacking kind. Her dagger spun out around her, following the familiar path of her only AoE sword art, slicing into each scorpions carapace.

Not relenting while she had the attacking moment Allania began to attack again, activating the same sword art. Her dagger glowing with a faint blue hue it spun around, once again slicing into the carapace of the scorpions, leaving faint red pixelated lines where she cut, indicating a wound. When her sword art had been completed Allania did not have the time to get back into a defensive stance before the scorpions launched their assault. Their pincers moving rapidly forward, cutting at her. Cut though they might Allania's armour offered her great protection and the thorns upon her chest piece raked across the pincers, leaving gaping wounds on the pincers, pixelated, red and garish.

The scorpioned backed off, having taken such damage from attacking, yet dealing so little damage themselves. They seemed unsure of the fight, thinking that they would have been fine with the advantage of numbers, however it was already clear that the favour was tipped against them. Lady luck was not on their sides. Not wanting to let them get away Allania attacked, cutting their train of thought short, unlike how she cut into their carapace, as she pitifully missed, the scorpions having staggered back as she charged. While they staggered back they sent their tails darting forwards trying to pierce her heart, but as flustered as they were, they were unable to hit home.

While they were on their back foot Allania attacked once again, leaping forward only to have sand quickly meet her face. She had tripped, the sand underneath her foot giving way as she kicked forward, the culprit of the incident. With her face down on the ground Allania could only hear the scorpions closing in before she looked up to see they were closing in. Even though she was on the floor she would not let herself be hit, and so began to roll about on the sand, dodging the barbed tail of the scorpions by centimeters.

Allania continued to roll about on the ground, her movements becoming ever more predictable to the attacking scorpions who were soon able to land blow upon blow onto her slight frame. The blows however were glancing, deflecting off her armour to do minimal damage, once again scraping their tails with the thorns upon her chest piece. With their assault faltering from the damage Allania spun up to her feet, dagger raised and launched herself at them, her dagger whistling through the air as she sliced into their chitin carapace, shattering each one into millions of fragments. With them defeated Allania picked up the dropped materials and moved on.

As Allania crested the dune she had been climbing up she spotted another group of scorpions milling about in the trough below. She sent her health bar a quick look, seeing that it was nearly full Allania took her dagger out from its sheath at her side and ran towards the group. As she neared them Allania drew back her dagger, readying herself to leap forward and attack all four of them at once. When her attack was ready, her blade glowing with a faint blue hue Allania leaped, her dagger flashing around her in an arc, aiming to hit them all. She had not quite calculated the distance correctly though, her dagger falling short of the Scorpions. Allania quickly jumped backwards, avoiding the rain of blows sent out by the attacked scorpions.

Allania would not stop there, as she skidded to a halt, sand spraying up around her feet Allania prepared her dagger once again. When the glow on her dagger was a brilliant blue she pushed off the loose sand beneath her feet. Her feet almost slipped before they took grip, launching her forward towards the enemies. As she brought her dagger round, Allania felt the resistance on the dagger as she cut through the chitin of the scorpions shell, being hit herself by glancing blows from the tails of the scorpions. As the blows of the scorpions scraped across her armour the thorns adorning them took effect, carving grooves into them all.

Allania landed her previous move within the circle of pincers that the Scorpions had constructed around her. In such a position she knew that she would be unable to avoid the blow, especially at this distance. Resigned to being hit Allania just hoped that the thorns on her chestpiece would once again carve grooves in their carapace. With that hope in mind Allania set about preparing to use her only AoE sword art again, starting to go through the movements for the system to recognise what she was doing as Round accel, allowing the system to take over as her dagger once again ripped through the scorpions shells, being struck herself as she moved about.

Allania rushed forwards,moving through the ranks of the scorpions, breaking through so as not to be surrounded. As she ran the scorpions tried to target her fleeting figure, not once being able to land a blow upon her lithe frame. Allania did not bother to try and attack, her energy was too low to do an attack of any note to such opponents. Now free of the circle she stopped and took a short breather, taking in several gulps of air before looking back up at the scorpions that had been regrouping. It seemed when they had attacked they had ended up staggering about.
