Rain 0 Posted April 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2016 So pretty much what the title says.... Why are so many... if not all -cept me- are either closed or for personal use? Zandra just closed shop. now.. it looks like I'm the only one open. x.x still... I don't get much business. -3- but still... why is everyone disappearing.. :c If I missed someone, sorry. :x
Opal 0 Posted April 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Opal no longer cares about the citizens of Aincrad, there is no reason for her to help save lives when she is more than capable of taking life away.
Shirien 0 Posted April 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2016 From observation alone I'd wager it's because they are the most active business-wise. Every raid they'll need potions, and several people will want some just for emergencies. Not all of a smith's creations will actually be what someone wants, potions tend to serve singular purposes that pretty much everyone wants. So basically it's to limit how much business they get or to have an almost unlimited supply of particular potions without having to worry about spending crafts to fill orders of unreasonable size, depriving them of their own personal items. I could be wrong though, just my assumption.
Aster 0 Posted April 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Both IC and OOC reasons for me. For now my character is somewhat of a shut-in, so she's more focused on expanding her knowledge than running a business. As for me, I just don't want to overwhelm myself by having an open shop right now. Maybe she'll open up for business sometime, just not at the moment :P
Amira 0 Posted April 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Well, at a certain point it becomes very tedious to craft. When you get to a high rank you can craft seven or eight items a day (or more), which takes materials. And then you have to format these items, calculate the experience, submit them all, take orders, add them to your shop list... It become like a real job, and takes a ton of time. Even more than that you need a constant supply of materials as well.
Zandra 0 Posted May 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2016 No worries. I closed it by two reasons. 1. Like Manta said. I kind of got burned out. 2. Ethereal 0 Posted May 1, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 1, 2016 I closed up because I was outranked by a couple of people and customers always go for the highest ranking professionals. Less materials needed, generally quicker, lower price to go to the max rank people than the newer alchemists. No customers so no reason to stay open,
Mayuri 0 Posted May 2, 2016 #10 Share Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) Mai isn't selling her stock because she will give it away once she gets into boss fights. She doesn't want anyone to die, so if her crystals and potions can save lives, she's all for that. With all her uncommons, she's stock piling them for all the noobs she meets.
