Kyoko Mori is a student as Nippon Gakushi-in, a high ranking academy where they raise their student to be top of the line scientists who are top notch on the verge of scientific discovery. Kyoko's entire existence was governed by her father as his traditions still lingered from the past of Japan where she would do as she was told and listen. Her latest milestone being the intrigue of the new virtual reality system that had recently made an appearance with it's new game SAO. Kyoko however was born with a serious illness that had left her blind within the real world, her studies and dreams of entering a virtual reality. A rarity but not uncommon among children Retinopathy which is a complication that occurs in newborn babies. The result of being administered to an oxygen environment before her blood vessels could fully develop resulting in this permanent blindness. She felt no shame this loss of a sense actually acted as a determination to learn and made her other senses unique as she often is unburdened with appearances. As a result though of her education though she began to discover through the countless braille books she owned about the medical discovery of the virtual reality game. Her entire life revolving about how the Nerve Gear was capable of lacing itself into one's mind without intrusive surgeries and stimulating the subconscious mind's optical receptors by introducing them into a virtual environment where one could interact. As the years passed she had slowly developed a hierarchical system thoughts upon the subject of Ophthalmology and Neurology. By her nineteenth birthday, Kyoko's father Kaigawa began to research into this system as well plotting to buy her this system for her next birthday. Days away he finally couldn't wait as he had seen his daughter locked away in her studies for a fair amount of time. The mere presence of the Nerve Gear in her life jolted her with excitement beyond belief causing grateful frenzy of kisses and hugs to Kaigawa. On the opening night of SAO's release she was fully prepared to do a full analysis of experiments having set herself up in her academies science of neurology class where they were going to view and analyze her reactions to the virtual stimuli that the game produced. As she entered the world she awoke in the middle of the starting city of Aincrad's first level. Eyes piercing up to the sky above that was blinding her with the beautiful beams of the sun for the first time in her life. A momentous occasion for both scientific discovery at her school as they actual picked up on the reactions of bringing sight to the blind.

Virtues:

Integrity: Avilon is a scientist first and foremost even in the act of gaming hadn't cross the young woman's mind till she found herself living it. A purgatory and heaven rolled up into one. Avilon was picked by the science team as most of them were Arthurian buffs on top of that who went to the same book club. Kyoko was a particular fan of Mordred as her Avatar name but she took the general consensus of being named for the great city of Arthurian literature. Kyoko was the most trustworthy person they had ever met and didn't even change her avatar from her normal appearances. The moment the game developer spoke to them and cast aside these masks she merely stood among the crowd intrigued as she hadn't even thought of the Nerve Gear acting as a prison as well as she was asked on her opinion people began to see that despite her uncanny honesty that sometimes she was to honest about how their own minds could be starved of rational thought thus spreading more fear.
Flexible: Despite her rather unorthodox arrival to this death game, Avilon wasn't skilled like the other players about her. Each of them after the initial shock and awe left the more inexperienced players, including herself, in the dust for levels and thoughts. Instead she snapped into gear and began acting as that of the good Samaritan in the scriptures of biblical work. A lack of training and motherly nature came quick as did most things to Avilon. Instincts and book learning quickly working it's way into the hearts and minds of the children she nurtured. This life wasn't one she intended to keep though, she wished to test the limits of this virtual reality and surely her friends were still monitoring her vital at a hospital after the incident.
Methodical: After the death games began, Avilon began to scavenge for material and money for those less fortunate then herself the mere motivation being her newly acquired sense of sight. Charming the occasional male gamer who walked through the beginning levels for a small donation of credits they had earned thus far. She didn't seduce them in her own eyes as she always spoke the truth after inquiring her donations and never would she leave herself open for possible tradings.

Flaws:

Withdrawn: Although she founded her scientific club, she always was the oddball among them thanks to both her lack of site and her general book worm personality. Perhaps it was her withdrawn nature that caused her to be the test subject in the first place, her own life was rather bland and as fate intervened her life became far more interesting by her imprisonment in Sword Art Online.
Obsessive: Unlike most of the obsessive and compulsive community Avilon fixates randomly upon details of situations or even the cleanliness of a room if someone starts conversing about it. Her own ability to take these situation to the extreme both an art and curse for the poor blind girl as she now wanders around a group of less than intellectual equals.
Sensitive: Avilon is a brilliant scientist and is capable of bending to accommodate whatever someone might need at the time, her own emotions acting as nothing but a cushion for others to collapse depressingly upon. Although these emotions don't tend to surface except when she is in the comforting embrace of her own solitary confinement she is quite easily hurt by the smallest of insults as she bottles them up for later. Avilon is a walking powder keg that is about to explode unleashing a frenzy of nonsensical pain to those if pushed over the edge.
