[PP-F7] There's a Snake in my Boot! <<Case of Wurms>> (Xion) ((Completed))

Hikoru sighed as he waited on the 7th floor for the player he had agreed to go on this Quest with. He had been going on a run to defeat the new patch that had came out a few days ago, with a few new quests that gave him large amounts of SP. He wanted to get them done so he could finally continue to move up in rank of all the players in Aincrad, as he was now one of the more powerful players since Zelrius and Ssendom had died. He leaned on the nearby building next to the gate, awaiting the player to appear before him to he could defeat this boss quickly and efficiently.

"Then maybe I can finally be able to not be called weak..." He muttered to himself as he looked around, trying to see if the player was anywhere in sight.

Xion sighed as he walked towards the teleport gate on floor one, the blonde's hair was a mess of blonde locks and his eyes were dark and tired. "Why did I agree to this?" He muttered  before stepping up into the blue light of the gate, asking it to teleport him to floor 7, the teen disappearing in a familiar blue light, appearing on floor 7. 

"Now..." He said, looking around for the player which he was going to complete the <<Case of Wurms> quest with.

Hikoru looked to see a player just appearing from the teleporter, and he did his best to see him from afar, and tried to read his name, but it wouldn't render from this distance. He sighed and walked over to the player to see if it was the player that he had agreed to do this Quest with, and as he approached, he saw that it was the name of the player he had agreed to go with

"Hey, kid." He said "You the one I agreed to do this quest with?" He asked. He was doing his best to be polite, but as his now expressionless demeanor took over since his last Quest, it was really the best he could do

"Hey kid" Xion heard someone call, frowning as he turned to see the source of the rather condescending voice. The player seemed to be a higher level than Xion, an obvious DPS build too. "Yes....I am the one that agreed to do the quest with you" the blonde said, nodding towards the man. "Although I would rather not be called kid, I'm close to being front line level you know, and the new quests that have popped up should be enough for the final push" he said, before sending the player a party request. 

"Anyway, we haven't properly met yet. I'm Xion of the Knights of the blood oath, Crimson blades strike team. And you are?"

Hikoru sighed as the player seemed a bit snappy at him, and he only sighed as he pulled out a +2 Damage potion from his inventory and drank it. Once down, he felt his stats rise a bit, and he looked at the player with a small glare in his eyes

"Watch it." Is all he said. He wasn't in the mood to mess with a snappy player who thought that he could try and act superior or at his same level. He was about to lost his cool, but he breathed and calmed himself "And my name is Hikoru, part of the Knights of Christ." He said with a sigh. He wanted to get this done and get it done quickly so he could go home and rest for the day. He was exhausted from all the Quests he had been doing, and he needed a day or two of rest

Xion was taken aback by the other player's rather hostile response, it would seem that simply asking to not be called a kid was a little too much. He was tempted to lash out himself, but he had learned in the past that such a thing got you nowhere. "Heh" the blonde said with a chuckle, brushing a few stray locks of hair to the side as e looked at the man. "So what's got you in such a foul mood then? I was just asking to not be called a child, nothing extreme" he said, before equipping his spear and shield, it was better to be ready then to walk up to the boss unequipped. 

 

"Either way, we have a quest to complete"

Hikoru sighed as the player did all but laugh at his anger, and it irritated him more. He needed to get this done and get it done quick. He didn't have time for anything such as a petty squabble. He felt a squirm in his pocket and opened up his coat, and his familiar's head popped out. Sutetchi took a moment to awake, but once he did, he climbed up onto his owner's shirt and soon appeared on his shoulder. After giving the ferret familiar a slight scratch under the chin, he sighed and nodded at the player, and made his way to where the fight would take place, and where he hoped he could get stronger than what he already was.

Xion nodded, it was obvious that e wasn't going to get a decent conversation out of the player, perhaps it was for the best? Who knew. "I'm assuming that this isn't going to take long, I can presume that your damage is more than enough?" He asked absent mindedly while walking towards the Quest area, he wasn't sure where it was exactly or when the boss would spawn, all that he could do was remain vigilant

Hikoru looked as the player asked about if this would be quick, and he gave a nod. with the Damage potion that he drank, he should easily be able to one-shot this creature. He wasn't worried about the lad getting hurt, he just hoped that he could easily get this done, and not have to worry about the boy coming close to dying, although there was always that chance. He gave a small sigh and looked ahead to see that the Quest area was just ahead, as his HUD arrow pointed towards it. He remained silent for a few more minutes, then unsheathed his Dagger and looked at the player

"Be ready in case I miss." He said as he turned back to where the boss was soon to spawn, and waited for it to appear and finally finish it off

((OOC: I'll post it on my next post, just wanted to make sure your character was ready, because I don't want you to die XD))

Xion nodded back as the other player drank a damage potion, it would seem that he was going for a one-shot, a sound strategy. "Ok...if you miss I'll try to stun or paralyse it. That should allow you to finish it off..." He said as he raised his shield into a ready position, his apear held to his side, poised to attack if he needed to. "Let's get to it then"

Hikoru breathed and walked forward, then the ground rumbled. He looked up to see the shadow of the giant creature in which he was hunting for. In a flash, he jumped up and twirled in the air, stabbing the creature multiple times right in the chest, not giving up or faltering until he landed on the other side of it. He breathed and landed on the other side of it and sheathed his dagger as it turned to nothing but pixels. He felt his familiar shaking slightly, and pet his head, doing his best to calm him

"There, that should do it." He said as he returned to the player, calming his familiar down as best he could

Xion looked on as the other player launched a relentless assault against the boss, slashing and stabbing until it's health bar had been completely obliterated. "Every time I think I'm getting stronger I'm reminded by DPS builds that I still have a long way to go" the blonde said with a chuckle, leaning against his spear and sighing. "So, what now...I don't suppose you know any good taverns around here or something? Or anything to do really" he asked, idly scrolling through his menu.

Hikoru sighed as the other player Xion relaxed and asked about any nearby pubs. He was a fellow drinker himself and enjoyed a good drink or two after a fight, and he couldn't help but agree with the players idea. He looked back at the direction the town was in, then thought for a moment. He hadn't been on this floor much, so he had no idea if he would be able to know if there was a good pub. He looked at the player and just shrugged his shoulders

"I don't know man, guess we'll just go back and find out." He said with a small sigh. He wished he could give the player a definite answer on what he needed to know, but at the moment he couldn't, so going back was the best thing they could do.

Xion sighed "Well, the only way to find out is to go searching for  somewhere to drink, and then go to every other place until we know which one has the best drinks...Or maybe not seeing as I have stuff to do in the morning...you know what let's just go back, find a place and chill" he said, before lifting his spear from the ground and setting off. "I wonder what kind of cider they sell here..."

Hikoru nodded and sheathed his dagger, scratching his familiar's chin and making his way in the direction of the town. Soon, he appeared in town with the upcoming tank player and sighed. It was a beautiful day, and everything seemed to be alright for now. He looked around with the player, and soon came upon a nice pub, made of stone, and walked in. The door squeaked slightly, and he looked to see a small pub with the stone walls completely decorated with trophies. Things like Heads or board and wolves, and portraits of heroes from the outside world from olden times. Hikoru sighed and went and sat at the bar, looking at the bartender and waiting for him to return. He sighed and waited as the bartender tended to another player, and waited to be served.

Xion smiled as they walked into the tavern, taking a second to appreciate the aesthetic of the place. "It seems nice..." he said to himself as he took a seat next to Hikoru, the man didn't seem to want to talk or get the barkeep's attention. "Hey, barkeep, we'd like to order some drinks" the blonde said, waiting a few seconds before the man running the bar walked over to them. "A cider please, pear if you have it" he told the man. "And you Hikoru?"

Hikoru watched as the other player called over the bartender, and asked for a cider. He laughed as he went for something light, and wasn't feeling up for something light. Soon he was asked for what he want, and gave a nod to the bartender

"Vodka, if you would. I need to wake up." He said with a small laugh. He sighed and looked around, enjoying the feel of the pub. It was quaint, and it fit his style. He would remember this place in the back of his mind the next time he was on this floor, and it would probably get some good business. The bartender walked away and he turned to the other player, leaning on the bar "So tell me, what are your plans once you get higher levelled? Come to the front lines with me?" He asked out of curiosity

"Do you plan on waking up tomorrow?" Xion asked with a chuckle as Hikoru ordered some Vodka, the man then asking Xion what he planned to do once he was a higher level. "That's the plan... I've always wanted to fight on the front lines, I don't see the point in fighting if it's not your goal..." He stopped momentarily as their drinks arrived, taking a few gulps. "I'm level 24...this quest will push me to 25.    Then I can fight on the front lines, then I'll actually have a purpose, a use...I'll be able to protect people"

Hikoru laughed as the man said it was his dream. He agreed with the player, it was his dream at one time as well, then he fulfilled it and here he was, broken and trying to pull himself together. He sighed as the bartender brought his drink, and he chugged it, setting the empty glass back down and feeling the effects come over him. He sighed and stared at the counter, flashbacks of his times at the front lines flashing before his eyes.

"Yeah, it was my dream... and now i'm here, and i've seen things that I can only warn you about.... Be ready to lose allies, i've lost 4 players in my time at the front lines, and i'll tell you... the grief that comes with it is overwhelming..." He said with a small sigh, a slight tear coming from his eye "Just... be prepared, is all I can warn you about..."

"Easy with the vodka..." The tank said, a little concerned by the man's rapid consumption of the drink. "And the amount of times I've heard that...I think we all know it's going to happen at some point. Even then nothing can prepare you for it...I wouldn't know, but I can imagine how hard it is. I just hope that I won't lose too many, KOB members are made of sturdy stuff, but they don't all have my defences, or Mack's for that matter. As long as I can protect them, I'll be able to die happily.
