Jakobe 0 Posted May 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Jakobe strolled through the streets of the starting city taking note of the other players as he passed them by. Man, I wish it was possible to pickpocket in this game.... would make getting gear a whole lot easier. After falling in with some pitiful street thugs at a young age, Jakobe rarely had to earn anything honestly. Now though, stuck here in this false reality, he wouldn't be able to get by how he did in the real world. Which is what brought him to where he is now. Standing at the gates of the city, he wondered what he was about to get himself into. He knew that venturing out into the world was dangerous, after all, if he died out there he would die for real. But on the same hand he couldn't just sit inside the walls of the city any longer. Although he had been taught to always let the "suckers" do the work. Knowing that there were players out there dying for his freedom left him feeling hollow inside. Taking in a deep breath and exhaling he quickly gave a little tug to make sure his weapon was firmly secured to his back before stepping out beyond the boundaries of the city. Jakobe 0 Posted May 14, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted May 14, 2016 Walking amongst the rolling hills, Jakobe couldn't believe the amount of players outside the walls. Not only did it surprise him so many people were willing to risk life and limb. But it also concerned him that there might not be any mobs left for him to train on. Spotting a field that seemed to have the fewest amount of players inhabiting it. Jakobe drew his sword and began walking towards an enemy mob that no one seemed to have spotted yet. Before he could get into agro range however, he heard a voice coming from behind him. "Hey, what do you think your doing? This is our training spot!" Turning around, Jakobe watched as two random players ran up and killed the boar he was about to agro. "Hey I was about to fight that monster, you don't own this training spot you know?" Giving each other a quick look, the random players fell silent for a second before one of them began to speak. "Hey... You don't want to be fighting these monsters anyway. Several players have already died to them, wouldn't you rather train on the rock monsters?" Rock Monster? He thought to himself Never heard of one of those. "What exactly do you mean by rock monsters?" He asked the players quizzically. Snickering, the player who had spoken before again opened his mouth. "You know the rock monsters... they are monsters that look like rocks, the great thing is though they don't attack back. Perfect for someone like yourself who hasn't engaged in combat yet. They can usually be found over there" the player said point to the east. "Your better off training on those for now and leaving these boars to us." The idea of fighting something that didn't fight back appealed greatly to Jakobe. And although he wondered why all players weren't training on them, he decided that would just be less competition for mobs. Giving a quick nod of his head to the players, Jakobe set out in the direction the player had indicted.
Jakobe 0 Posted May 14, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Spotting a medium sized rock laying on the ground, he wondered if this was one of the monsters the players had spoken off. Drawing his sword he closed in on it, watching closely for any signs of movement. To his bewilderment however nothing appeared to be happening. hmmmm I wonder if its like a hermit crap? he thought. Deciding that he should go ahead and attack it, he quickly raised his sword and swung it down hard onto the rock. Jakobe was dismayed when his blade merely glanced off the surface. Must just be a really hard shell.. after all it is a rock monster. After giving it some thought, he remembered watching one schoolmate give a bath to the class hermit crab. More importantly he remember how the hermit crab came out of his shell when it got wet. I wonder............ Edited May 14, 2016 by Jakobe
Jakobe 0 Posted May 14, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Snatching a bottle of water from his inventory he poured it over the rock before quickly jumping back to safety. Poised and ready to attack, he was only further dismayed when nothing appeared to be happening. Continually becoming more and more frustrated by the situation. Jakobe decided to walk up and try and see if he could pick the rock up. If I can pick it up, maybe I could throw it on its back like a turtle he thought to himself. Unfortunately however, no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get the rock to move. Better cut this out before I give myself a hernia. Jakobe didn't know if he could actually give him self a hernia, but the thought that he might very well could dissuaded him from trying any further. Deciding to take a bit of a rest, Jakobe sat down cross legged and stared at the rock intently. It was then and only then that the thought occurred to him. "Hey what if those guys tricked me?!?!" He shouted out loud in anger. Poking in prodding at the rock, Jakobe was now sure of it. This is no rock monster, its just a rock....... man how dumb can I be? Realizing that he had been tricked, he tossed his hands up over his head before falling flat on the ground. Staring up at the sky he began to contemplate his next move. Jakobe 0 Posted May 15, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted May 15, 2016 Inhaling deeply, the freshness of the air seemed to have a revitalizing effect on him. Having always lived in the city, Jakobe had grown accustomed to smog and pollution. And although he knew deep down that this was all fake, on the surface it was easy to forget that. How could I have allowed myself to be fooled. He thought to himself. If I'm going to make it in this game... I'm gonna have to change.... Rolling over onto his stomach before pushing himself off the ground and onto his feet. He paused for a moment once standing to brush the dirt off his clothes. Well... time to get back to it I suppose. And with that Jakobe set back off in search of monsters to hunt.
Jakobe 0 Posted May 15, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) Walking back down into the valley, it wasn't long before he laid eyes on a boar only a few yards away. Drawing his sword from its sheath he took a defensive position. Already within the agro range of the mob, Jaboke watched as the boar prepared to charge. Letting out one last loud snarl the boar set off charging towards him. Oh man, what am I going to do...... Having never been in combat before, Jakobe froze. Unable to move, he felt the full weight of the boar collide into him. Struggling to stay on his feet, his reactions kicked in quickly and he swung his blade horizontally. Leaving a slash across the boars face, it took only seconds until the boar burst into a thousand little hexagons. Collapsing forward onto his hands and knees, Jakobe tried hard to concentrate on his breathing in order to calm himself down. Noticing a light orb laying on the ground, he reached out and touched it.
