» About: Malina has always been a rather introverted person. Hers is a very small world consisting of her close family (her parents) and the few friends she'd gathered throughout the years. She has led a pretty average life, going to school and getting good grades, occasionally hanging out with her friends, being a responsible and thoughtful child her parents could take pride on. However, this seemingly satisfying life was something Malina grew to dislike. It's not that she was ungrateful - she thanked whatever deity was out there for her easygoing life - but she could feel a sort of panicked restlessness creeping up on her. She felt edgy, irritated. She'd lock herself up in her room, withdrawing to the deepest corners of her mind and letting imagination lead her to awe-inspiring places she'd later write about.

When she first heard of this new technology called Nerve Gear, and the game that was being launched for it, she couldn't help herself. Like many other people, she bought the technology and the game and... well, the rest is history.

Being in the game (especially after it all went crazy) changed her, of course, as life and death situations usually do. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective), she entered SAO completely by herself and leads a pretty isolated life, socializing only when strictly necessary. In truth, she is a bit at a loss of what to do.

» Virtues:

Creative. Malina has a way of thinking that twists and turns and loops in such a manner that it makes people wonder if she's right in the head. She's a very creative individual, and that sometimes expresses itself in the most unusual of ways. She might be found talking to herself or drawing on walls with her fingers. She has a different way of seeing things. Not only that, but this is perhaps the best tool she's got when in combat. She can come up with strategies that few others would have thought about.

Loyal. Earning her loyalty and respect is no easy task, more so in this death game. She is a firm believer that actions speak louder than words and will be judging you for them. Once her loyalty achieved, however, Malina will stick to her friends and protect them to the best of her abilities. Malina shows a more... boisterous side of herself when with people she trusts. She doesn't change dramatically, but it's much easier to see her smilling and joking around.

Pleasant. It's not a hard task to pull Malina into a conversation. She isn't against making small talk and even enjoys it. You can usually count on her to be a nice, friendly chat buddy. She would even accept if you asked for her help, most of the times. Over time, you could even grow to become somewhat friends, or allies. Malina is of the opinion that it doesn't hurt to be nice to other people, provided said people are nice in the first place. She is a good listener and tends to be the one who talks less in a conversation.

» Flaws:

Distrustful. There seems to be a wall of ice between her and other people. It is only expected due to the actual situation. Malina has always been this way, however. She sees other people like a uniform mass of ants, completely alien to her. They only turn into "real" people, so to speak, when they become somewhat close to her. Since that is the case, she will not put her trust in the hands of just anyone - and probably won't do so for a long while.

Ambiguous. Malina has a firm moral compass that has guided her throughout all her life. However, in some situations she has found herself fascinated by dark, twisty subjects. This fascination comes out to play rather often in this death game she's found herself in, making her feel conflicted. There are a lot of grey areas between being good and being evil and Malina has found that she's tempted to go explore the darker end of the spectrum. She keeps this interest of hers under lock and key and has spoken of it to absolutely no one. An observant person, however, can notice that something is amiss.

Single-mindedness. Sometimes Malina falls so deeply into what she's doing that she forgets the bigger picture. This is bound to happen when she's overcome by strong emotions, making her a bit unstable in those moments. There was this moment in the beginning, when they first learned of the true nature of the game, when she decided to get stronger and went to go hunt some weak creatures. When she startled battling, she got so overwhelmed by her rage and helplessness that she continued to strike the grass long after the creature had desintegrated into pixels.
