He was nearing the town now. He was about halfway there when a particularly strong breeze blew through the plains and made the boy stumble back a little. He raised his arms in defense, scared it was the breath of an unexpected field boss at first, but when he opened his eyes he realized it was no such thing. It seemed the wind there truly was just sporadic. He glanced around at the shaking stalks of grass and found some more mushrooms. He picked up his spear, and swung.

Kekoa reached down and grabbed the successful mushroom, allowing it to fall in to his inventory. He let out a huff and shoved his hands in his pockets as he made his way back to town. There wasn't any way he was going to get lucky any more, so the NPC would just have to be happy with what he could gather.

Kekoa kept his head up as he traveled through town back to the shop. Although he didn't like feeling sad (really, who does), he felt the experience cleared his mind of things he needed to fix. Kekoa's entire attitude had shifted, but he wasn't sure whether or not it was a good thing. He couldn't tell if he has being molded in to someone better or worse, but it would take time to decipher anyways. He sighed. Nothing bothered him more than not being able to analyze things properly. His OCD had actually been calmer since he joined SAO, but he could still feel it lingering in the back of his head where he couldn't reach to itch. It may be dormant, but he knows it's there and ready to pick on him at the worse possible time.

"Mister Kekoa!! You're back!" She shouted hopefully. Kekoa nodded simply and swiped his hand down to bring up his menu. A little ringing of a bell and a few clicks later and the few materials he had collected materialized in his hand. Yumi lit up, jumping up and down and squealing happily before yanking Kekoa over to behind the counter. "Mister Kekoa brought the materials, daddy!!" She cheered. The man smiled weakly, holding out his hand as he ached to stand. He pulled himself up using the counter, moaning in pain as he did. Kekoa handed him the materials and he placed them on the counter. He pulled out a pot as well and tossed them all in. He mixed them for a moment and then poured the new contents in to a glass. He tilted his head back and chugged the potion, sticking out his tongue in disgust when he was finished. "Tastes like oil!" He spat, but his skin started turning brighter, and he began to stand up straighter. It seemed whatever amount of fatigue or pain he was feeling a moment ago had been vanquished. He flexed comically in many different poses and then stuck a big thumbs up to Kekoa.

"Thank you for your help! You must be a true alchemist yourself, with the ingredients you brought for me!" The man exclaimed. A pop-up appeared that read [Are you an alchemist? Yes ☐ No ☐]. Kekoa pressed "Yes" and confetti burst from the text box. <<Congratulations! You earned the title, "Alchemist"!>> Kekoa smiled lightly. "Thank you Mister Alchemist for saving my daddy! Now if only he could stop being such a loud snorer!" She crossed her arms and grumbled, and her father laughed hardily. It just pierced Kekoa's ears. "No problem.." He mumbled, and then turned to leave. "Wait! Kekoa, take these as a symbol of my gratitude!" The man handed Kekoa a small case of materials. Kekoa smiled in thanks at the man, although he wasn't truly appreciative of the experience. The man smiled back.

Kekoa was annoyed by their happy life, but maybe he could have it too, even in here... Maybe.
