The wanderer trudged through the searing heat. The course desert sand was unbearable, he couldn't wait to go back to his cold snowy 4th floor. It had seemed like they've been walking for hours. Looking up at the sky, it was going to be dark. Up ahead Yamato spots a cave and quickly lead everyone in.

"Finally, out of that heat." The cave wasn't much, but the shelter it provided was a pleasant boon. Walking farther in, the wanderer spots a slight glimmer. Thinking it could be the missing cargo, he pressed on deeper into the cave. "I think I found the cargo."

Teion pulled up at her scarf again, holding it in place above her nose to protect her airways from the sand whipping around her. When she heard a voice beside her, the violet-haired woman turned slightly to see someone fully clad in armor. The man seemed to be warning her about the sandstorms and safety, but the blacksmith looked back to him with a blank expression. She gave him a small nod to acknowledge his words, looking ahead as she made sure her place in the group was correct.

Continuing wordlessly, Teion squinted a bit as the winds grew stronger. Day was quickly coming to a close on the fifth floor; she didn't make a habit of staying outside the safety of her shop during night hours. As several other party members pointed out and directed their group to a shelter in the form of a cave, Teion just followed after them. Clearly a girl of (less than) few words, the woman let down the yellow fabric around her mouth once the sandy winds no longer threatened to fill her lungs.

Following the girl after she had nodded to him, Nikodemus ran a finger gently along the seal of his armor. He smiled glad that the <<Survival>> skill he had kept it intact and provided him safety from the sand storm. Looking ahead, he saw the group just a few feet away. Thankfully no one had gotten loose of the group and lost themselves in the storm. With a nod, he continued towards the objective. As the group entered a cave, Nikodemus followed inside and stopped at the mouth. Dusting himself off, he gazed around, wishing he had some form of night vision. Grumbling a bit, he noticed Rain moving towards something. Moving in the same direction, he gazed about carefully.

Hearing Rain call out from deeper in the cave that he believed he had found the missing cargo the blonde Irishman abandoned his post at the entrance of the cave and wandered a bit deeper into the temporary shelter, tugging down the balaclava that was covering his nose and mouth as he moved in the direction of Rain's voice. Once he had made his was to Rain's side, Yamato knelt on the ground and tapped the box that he had found. Sure enough, a dialogue box popped up and Yamato's ice blue eyes quickly scanned it. "Good catch," he murmured in a low and lilting tone, clapping Rain on the shoulder. "We'll head back for town first thing in the morning, traveling the desert at night isn't safe. Even with him in our group," the Irishman continued, jerking a thumb in Nikodemus' direction.

Khrysaor closed his eyes for a bit getting tired, when he heard Rain talking about the missing cargo. He decided to get up and check it out with Yamato who had already started moving in the direction. Khrysaor was having some trouble following deeper into the cave because of the darkness. He stumbled about for a few minutes before he caught sight of Rain standing beside a crouched Yamato who was checking out a wooden box on the ground. He came to stand beside them observing the box as well, and heard Yamato congratulate Rain on finding it and tell everyone that we were going to move out in the morning, because of safety. He thought it was a good idea so he went to sit at the base of the entrance still protected from the sandstorm and take first watch. He then called out to the others saying, "How about I keep watch for any enemies that may come and you guys take a break for a few hours then we could rotate."

"Nice job, Rain. Great work." Helios spoke up. He had stayed quiet for a while, hoping to get the quest over and done with as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it was taking longer than he had expected. Before he had taken the quest, he had assumed a day and a night in the desert would be simple enough. And it was, actually. The only problem was, he was becoming bored. Stuck in a cave with five other players who were all unknown to him wasn't exactly what he'd call "fun".

The dark-haired young man decided to take a seat at the wall of the cave and relax for a bit while Khrysaor watched for any approaching enemies. After all of the walking they'd done, Helios had become tired. However, he didn't fall asleep. His eyes stayed wide open as he stared down at the dry cave's floor, deep in thought.

OOC: idk if I still needed to roll since we're in a cave, but rolled anyways... also don't know what level I was then so just used my current stats

After finding the cargo is over and done with everyone took to their own corners and began to rest. Some tried to stay up to keep watch while other laid down on the ground to rest up. The wanderer did the latter. After collecting the lost cargo, the wanderer took to a rock and leaned against it. "Wake me up when we're going..." As he said those last words, his eyes began to slowly shut.

Suddenly, he felt something slowly drizzling on him. "Sand? No... we're in a cave..." As the wanderer slowly opened his eyes and looked up, a piece of slight large rock fell from the roof and fell on the wanderer. The wanderer managed to dodge most of the rock, but force of the rock managed to scathe the wanderer as he dodged.

As the white-haired man made quick work of locating the quest objective, Teion stood idly towards the cave entrance, glancing back behind her as the sky grew darker over the horizon. The leader of their questing group proposed spending the night using the cave as shelter, while another person said they would take the first watch. Determining she had no other responsibilities, the blacksmith sat herself on the cave floor beside the black-and-green man. She didn't initiate a conversation or even look over towards him, instead pulling her knees in to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. She wasn't tired at all. The woman leaned back against the rock wall behind her. Keeping her thoughts to herself, she waited patiently for night to pass, wondering if sleep would eventually overtake her.

Only a couple of minutes passed before movement along the dark ground caught her eye. Teion squinted slightly to make out a thin form slithering lazily over the rocky surface. Her head tilted curiously. Though her attitude wouldn't show it, the violet-haired woman hated insects. Most creepy crawly-types sent a shiver down her spine, but reptiles were generally an exception. Without thinking, she reached a hand out to the desert snake that slunk about beside her. When she got too close, the small creature reactively twisted around, moving much faster than it previously had, to sink its fangs into the side of her hand. Teion flinched, pulling her hand back close to her as the creature released her and quickly slithered away and out of view, likely through some cracks in the walls to disappear completely. With an inward sigh, the woman held one hand in the other, gently rubbing near the two bright red fang marks that appeared pixelated over her skin.

Standing near Rain, Nikodemus felt the rock smash into his armor, knocking him to the left slightly. Grumbling, he brushed his armor off and looked to where Rain had been. "You ok Rain?" Looking about, he noticed the young lady he had stopped for during the trip standing beside a wall. With a sigh, Nikodemus moved over to where he figured Rain was and nudged around rocks, locating the alchemist and dragging him from the rubble. "Gotta be careful mate." After digging him out, Nikodemus sat down and relaxed his head.

Helios looked over at nearing player. He was surprised to see the violet-haired woman take a seat next to him. Much like her, the raven-haired swordsman didn't speak a single word or start a conversation. She seemed to be upset about something, since she curled up against the cavern wall. Of course, it wasn't Helios' business to ask the girl why she was sad. It was also a possibility that she was simply tired. Instead, the boy sat still.

In another area of the cave was Rain, who had managed to get hit by a rock, which had fallen from the roof. If he wasn't in such a tired state, he might have even chuckled a bit. A desert snake slithered across the ground in front of the noirette. The woman beside him attempted to reach for it, although he wasn't positive why, but ended up getting bit instead. "Hey, you alright?"

The wanderer grabbed his stuff once more, getting ready to head out soon. Daybreak pierced the opening of the roof where the rock collapsed and fell on him last night. Today was the day they can finally finish this debacle. That said, he turned to the rest of his group who was also just waking up and getting ready. "Let's get going before it gets too hot outside." He says as he tried to lead the group to finally end this quest.

As he took his first steps outside the cave, the winds began to pick up. "Damn.... we need to move now." Before the wanderer could tell the rest of his groups to hurry up, a full blown sandstorm began plowing through the sands. He pushed on through the winds until he finally regrouped up with every. "We have a choice. Wait this out or we move now. Frankly, I don't want to stay on this god forsaken floor any longer than I have to. I'm choosing the latter." He spoke with a commanding voice. It wasn't up to par as to his vice commander as he has that aura about him that seems to diminish everyone else around him, but he still kept stern to his words. The supposed captain of this squad has gone silent for who knows how long now and it's time someone pushed this group through the finish line.

A voice beside her caught her attention, causing the violet-haired woman to look over at the raven-haired player beside her. "Ah, yeah." She replied flatly, leaving the red marks on her hand be as she waited for her hit points to regenerate.

Sleep had hit her in small, infrequent waves over the course of the night. By the time the morning sun began peeking over the horizon, a sandstorm was already in full swing, threatening the safety of their cave shelter. The white-haired player that had found their quest objective seemed to take charge now, his loud voice causing Teion to wake completely despite her slight annoyance. The woman stood, feeling her stiff limbs reluctantly respond to her. Pulling the thin yellow fabric up to cover the lower half of her face again, Teion made her way to the cave's entrance, wordlessly signalling herself as ready to head back.

OOC: Just going to wrap this up so we can be done with it.

With the rising of the morning sun, and the precious cargo they were supposed to be finding stored safely in his inventory, Yamato rose to his feet and signaled the others from the mouth of the cave that it was time to move out. As he stepped out into the early morning sunlight that was already filtering across and heating up the desert Yamato pulled the trusty balaclava up over his nose and mouth once again. Overall the group made good time back across the sand dunes and through the desert wastes. By the time the early evening had rolled around the weary line of warriors had stumbled back into the town of Armadillo, quickly finding the quest NPC and completing the final requirement of the quest to be rewarded.

REWARDS:

Survival Skill - For those that don't already have it
+1 SP - For those that have completed the quest previously.
+2 SP - For those completing the quest for the first time.
+400 Col - Nikodemus Blackwood, because he's already done this quest before.
