Oikawa 1 Posted June 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) The second floor, hardly different from the first, seemed to hold even more secrets than the blonde originally inferred. After having looked at the bulletin board posted outside the Starting City of Floor One, he noticed an old pin for a Quest involving a supposedly unbreakable rock. Checking with some of the brokers littered about at the time, he managed to secure the location of the NPC giving out the quest. The quest bearer stayed in a hut along one of the various winding paths leading tot he summit of the mountain of the second floor. Edited June 7, 2016 by Oikawa
Oikawa 1 Posted June 7, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) Having made up his mind, the blonde decided to try on the quest, he needed a new challenge and it had been awhile since he had taken on a quest he could bring his companion familiar, King, along for. Petting the tuft of grey spotted fur clinging to his head as per the norm, Oikawa began to push towards the southern edge of the second floor. As they passed through fields, he noticed a collection of ores that seemed to spot the area. Naturally he opted to inspect them. They proved to be nothing more than decor however. Oikawa 1 Posted June 7, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) Bypassing the useless set of stones, the two of them continued to follow the path down to the base of the mountain. From there they would ascend until they reached the summit and subsequently the hut. Stepping into the now mountainous area, Oikawa reached to his head and grasped onto King before removing the cub from his crown and placing him on the ground. "Alright partner, I need you to spot me some materials as we traverse this place alright. I'll call to you when were nearing the peak." Nodding, the cub immediately bounded off. Putting his leopard instinct to use, he began to sniff out for possible materials. His first search proved fruitful. ID: 60904 LD: 25 (17+8) [+1 Material. Oikawa 1 Posted June 7, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) Continuing along after having let King go forage for him, Oikawa drew his blade just in case he should have some surprise visitors. Spotting the barren slope that lead up the mountain, Oikawa sprinted towards it only to be stopped at the base by a sudden band of <Pouncing Panthers>. Already having his blade readied, he surged forward unleashing his <Sweep> sword art upon them. Quickly ridding his path of the creatures, Oikawa began his steep crawl up the cracked surface. I hope King is having luck finding something. I'm not low on materials by any stretch, but the more the merrier. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Just as quickly as the first wave of panthers passed, another band of them came trotting around the corner. Eyeing his new opponents, Oikawa gave them a quick look over before deciding to end them just as quickly as he did the first. Letting his pre-motion take over, the blonde initiated another <Sweep>. This time the attack would be backed by his <Charge> skill as he tore into the four felines. Quickly removing them from existence, he continued along the path leading to the peak. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Rocks rolled and dropped off the cliff side as he ascended the mountain. The peak not looking too far off the more he traveled. The scenery below was rather magnificent the higher up he got, the color of the floor really beginning to pop from his view. Pushing past another narrow area, he decided to take a breather and look for a few materials along the way. Setting his sights on the ground surrounding him, Oikawa searched the surface and crannies for any signs of materials or other goodies that could be hidden below. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Spotting an interesting metallic ore protruding from the ground near the bend leading to the next section of the mountain, Oikawa plucked the material from the grasp of Aincrad and stashed it away with the rest of his materials. Looking around once more, he hoped to continue his luck as he intended to leave this trek with at least ten or fifteen materials. With tier three items being right around corner, according to info brokers and pre-released development patch notes, he would need to be able to supply the masses with tier 3 gear. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Shifting his gaze among the rocks and dirt ridden path, he spotted yet another ore sticking from the ground. Yanking this one from the surface as well, he quickly added it to his inventory as he neared the top of the mountain. Swiping through his menu, he opted to unequip his rapier, Orochi, and instead swapped the item for a pair of gauntlets by the name of Ordinal Breaker. He had heard the quest wouldn't allow him to use his sword arts thus forcing him to resort to unarmed damage. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) The summit of the mountain proved to much more of a spectacle than he originally imagined. The encompassing clouds and resounding noiseless calms that surrounded him, left the blonde in a state of awe. Approaching the looming boulder, Oikawa rested a hand on the mass of stone and patted it. He was certain he could take this rock down in no time at all if he truly concentrated on the end result rather than how far he had left to go. Flexing his fingers, he let loose the first punch. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Cocking his arm all the way back, the blonde shifted his stance and spun his torso with all his might as he let the first blow smash into the front side of the rock. A small crack splintered across the ball of stone as he retracted his fist. So much for being unbreakable. Lets keep pounding away at this thing until it gives away. Setting his stance once more, the blonde unleashed another blow unto the rock. Not too far off, King sniffed around the edges of the summit. He hadn't heard word from his rapier toting companion and it was beginning to worry the young cub. ID: 61141 BD: 12 (8+4) [+0 Material. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Still pawing at the edge of the ramp leading up, King heard the sounds of smashing rock. Perking up his ears, the small leopard leaped to the the top of the summit and followed the sound to the blondes location. Unleashing a low growl, the cub let his presence be known and furthermore that he was upset at the blonde. Turning around as he retracted his fist once more, Oikawa rubbed the back of his head as he turned to see his familiar sitting there with a look of disappointment. "King, I will make it up to you I promise. Just bare with me a little longer." With that, he took stance once more and sent a left hook at the stone ball. ID: 61142 BD: 7 (3+4) [+0 Material. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #12 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) The rock rattled as the blow from the blonde's left hook connected. Wiping away the sweat that had began to form on his brow, Oikawa looked at the rock once more. More cracks had begun to form and zigzag across the stony surface. King yelped out a cry of inspiration, as the blonde quickly got back into his boxer stance. Sizing up the boulder once more, he offered the obstacle a right straight. The blow shaking the area as it connected. "Just a little bit more King. Then we can head back." ID: 61143 BD: 5 (1+4) [+0 Material. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Taking another look at the rock, he noticed his last assault had done zero damage to the rock. Hmm, maybe this is why they call it Unbreakable. At a certain point, the rock just wont take damage no matter how hard you hit it. Maybe I should try smacking another part of the rock. Moving to the right side of the boulder, Oikawa sent another straight flying right for the center of the rock. Connecting once again, he checked to see if any new cracks had formed or if the boulder had even sustained any damage. ID: 61144 BD: 8 (4+4) [+0 Material. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #14 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Sure enough, swapping sides or at the very least, the location of where he sent his attacks seemed to prove successful. Looking at the remaining health bar, the blonde reasoned that he could finish the rock off in two more hits should his luck prove to be high enough; otherwise it would be three more blows before the rock was decimated. Shifting sides once again he unleashed another furious punch. Once again aiming for center mass, he watched as cracks splintered across the boulder. ID: 61145 BD: 14 (10+4) [+0 Material. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Taking a step back, he watched as rock bits began to fall of the boulder. Dust clouds forming as the boulder was quite literally ready to come apart at the seams. It looks like that last attack did quite the bit of damage. And judging by how much HP is left in its bar, I reckon i can end it here. Readying his stance once again, he quickly moved back to the front of the rock and stepped towards it. Leaning in, he sent one last blow at the rock. He hoped this last blow would shatter the rock and grant him the skill he needed to at least have a somewhat decent AoE attack. Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #16 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Just as his thought subsided, he watched as another cloud of dust whipped up. Rubbing his eyes, he waited for the dust to settle. As he did, the rock slowly dissolved int pixels revealing a path, or slide rather, leading back down to the base of the mountain. Chuckling to himself, he accepted the quest completion rewards and grabbed King. "Well it could've been worse," mentioned the rapier user as he he placed the cub atop his head. Sitting down into the slide, he pushed off down it.
Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Speeding towards the bottom, the two tumbled out at the mouth sending them rolling into the plains leading back to the front of the forest. Dusting himself off, Oikawa quickly scanned the area looking for king. Calling out for the cub, he heard a small purr from above and realized the leopard had managed to stay latched onto him despite all the tucking and rolling he had done. "Well then, lets head home, I'm ready to get out of here." Pushing off for the tree line, the two entered the greenery. Edited June 9, 2016 by Oikawa
Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #18 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Entering the forest, the blonde quickly hacked through the foliage that obstructed their path. Cutting down tree after tree, he began to see the clearing he initially passed through to get to the base of the mount. Continuing to chug along, he pressed past the clearing and entered more greenery. Hacking more leaves and limbs, he tore through the rest of the forest and saw the break in the trees. Breaking free from the forest's clutches, he then looked towards the deirection of the last boss room that would allow him to retun to the first floor
Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #19 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Pushing across the massive field, he spotted the raid room that allowed them entrance to this floor in the first place. Steeping through its opening, he made quick work of the steps as he quickly sprinted down them. Reaching the bottom, he felt a small twinge of regret. Had he not been so cowardly, he could've been apart of the fight that made this room so historic. The first voctory that led them to exiting the hell hole know as Aincrad, was fought without him. Sighing, he continued on back to the first floor.
Oikawa 1 Posted June 9, 2016 Author #20 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Breaking into the light of the first floor, Oikawa covered his eyes for a moment. The blinding sun of the first floor was much brighter than the dull rays of the second floor. Emerging from the cavern, he rubbed his lids before squinting into the distance. If he recalled correctly, his shop was located to the left near the Starting City but not close enough to cause a ruckus for the NPCs and lower leveled players who had become satisfied with remaining on the floor. Pressing towards his shop, he let out a sigh of relief. He could finally take a nap and he had a new skill to boot.
