[PP] Quick-Strike Friendly Duel (Khrysaor Vs. Rain)

Recommended Posts

Khrysaor Walked into the arena grounds calmly, observing his surroundings. This was his first in the arena, and the very first time he was going to have a duel. He looked around curiously, basically what he could see was the duel arena floor in the center of the Colosseum-like Arena. Also, he noticed there was a seating arrangement that surrounded the duel stage, with a few players and NPC in the seats watching the action. Khrysaor went up to the center of the arena, and started his message to send to his opponent.

Quote

To: Rain

From: Khrysaor

Place: Battle/Duel Arena

Message: I challenge you to a 1 on 1 First-Strike Duel.

The wanderer slowly wandered into the arena. The bright lights blinded him as he entered so he had to block his face with his arm. He had received a dueling request from a friend and the wanderer isn't one to back down. Under normal circumstances, the dual would be heavily one sided. If it were to be a short battle, the wanderer would've won. If it were a battle of attrition, his friend would've won. Their builds were heavily different with each taking up a different role. These rule would probably be the best way to keep everything simple and fair. It was all luck. He who first to draw and first to land the hit, wins. Simple.

Slowly walking up the arena where he was to meet Khrysaor, he quickly spots him, but didn't say a word. It's his motto to stay calm and collected in battle. To focus everything you have on the battle, and nothing else. The path of the warrior which he started on long ago when he first relieved the skills to use a katana.

Khrysaor silently watched as Rain came from the opening into the arena and went to stand opposite of him. He nodded to Rain, no words really needed to be said between the two warriors, they would let their clashing swords talk. He went to the duel menu, to set the duel up, and made sure all the rules were displayed in the duel information window. Afterwards, he sent it to Rain to look over and accept the terms of the duel. Khrysaor knew when Rain accepted the rules/terms of the duel the 60 second timer would start indicating the duel is about to begin. As Khrysaor waited, he went to his inventory menu, to unequip his current gear, and equipped his very first sword he got when he first entered the game.

As his opponent sent him the request, the wanderer quickly glanced at the rules making sure everything was set and quickly pressed accept. As the timer popped on top of them, the wanderer casually navigates his HUD. Flashes of light  burst from his body as he slowly unequipped every gear he had on until all that was left were nothing but the basics. A basic katana and a basic starter armor. It has been some time since he's been this... naked.

He slowly unsheathes his basic blade and points it at Khrysaor, slowly waiting for the timer to go down. Soon, the first clash will begin.

(OOC: @Rain your turn.)

As the timer started, Khrysaor was testing out his sword, practicing his swings a little to get used to the weapon again. When the timer hit 15 seconds, he got into his battle ready stance. He calmed his mind, so that there were no stray thoughts going through him, and focused on his opponent. When the clock struck 0, Khrysaor was off, speeding through the arena. He brought his sword up when a few meters away, swung his sword down on his opponent's shoulder, but missed because Rain was able to dodge his attack.

The wanderer carefully waited for the timer to count down. While waiting, he kept his eyes on Khrysaor's sword play. He watched how he swung his blade and at what side he prefers to strike. He watched it all carefully studying everything. Once the counter got closer to zero, he sheathed his blade. He brought his body low to the ground in a pretty low stance. If you're familiar with sword art, Lai, then you definitely know this move.

5.... 4... 3.. 2.. 1..

In an instant, the wanderer drew his blade and stayed low. Khryoar did not expect him to go low and because of that, he hit nothing but air. Then, the wanderer brought his sword up straight at Khrysaor's chest. He has no room to dodge. "I win."

Khrysaor was not able to dodge out of the incoming attack to the chest and was blown back from the attack. Khrysaor did not complain, it was only the first round. 'Man, hes fast, I will just have to move even faster.' thought Khrysaor. The timer started for the second round. He waited for timer to hit 0, trying to think up a strategy for his next attack.

10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5...

"Ah, hell with it, I will just move on the fly." muttered Khrysaor.

3... 1...

And Khrysaor was off, with a burst of speed. Instead of going for a high slash, he went in for a lower slash to the legs, swiping his sword horizontally, but missed again when Rain jumped in the air just above his slash.

The wanderer decided he should change tactics. If it wasn't apparent before, it's apparent now. There's tactics to dualing. As the timer began to count down, he carefully watched his opponent. "Where is he gonna go? straight down the middle? No, that's not gonna work. He saw me go low last time. Perhaps he'll think I'll go low as well this time. Sorry bud, but not this time."

3... 2... 1...

As the timer hit zero the wanderer rushed right at Khrysaor. As he got closer, he quickly noticed him going for his legs. Reacting quickly he jumps high in the air and tries to swing his blade as he did a backflip. Unfortunately for him, he's not exactly that acrobatic enough. He flopped his flip and completely missed his opponent. "Damn I thought I had that."

OOC: @Rain

'I was lucky the attack Rain tried missed. Even if he was able to dodge my attack, at least I was able to make him off-balance, giving me another chance.' thought Khrysaor. After, being pushed back, he went in for another quick attack when Rain was still making his flip in the air. Khrysaor hoped to catch him by surprise. He ran forward and made a lunging strike to the chest, his plan was the moment Rain landed on his feet, he would have his sword strike him down. But it was not to be as Rain brought his sword up to deflect the attack. Khrysaor backstepped after the failed strike and put his sword up for waiting to guard the next attack.

Midway through the wanderer's aerial flip, khrysaor tried to take the advantage and strike. Unfortunately for him, the wanderer saw it all coming. With a wave of his blade, he parried the attack. As his blade touch blades with khrysaor's the wanderer's got his bearings on the ground and pressured him. Pushing the blade towards khrysaor, he had no choice but to take the hit. Then in a moment's notice, it was all over. "... got em."

OOC: @Rain. Need to see if Khrysaor got the strike in first, so will edit after Rain's post.

Khrysaor started to breathe a bit harder. Luck was not his side today, and he knew the next round he had to win, otherwise he would be in big trouble. He got his sword into a ready position, and waited for the timer for the next round to start. As the seconds ticked by, Khrysaor had a bead of sweat pour down the side of his face. When the timer hit 0, he was off charging straight at his opponent. As he closed the distance, Khrysaor pointed his blade at Rain's shoulder. He feinted at the last moment and instead of aiming for the shoulder for a stright on attack, he swung his blade diagonally across Rain's body, and getting a strike, while dodging Rain's counter-strike.

OOC: My bad... didn't see the notif, @Khrysaor

A drop of sweat came pouring down the wanderer's cheek. This fight was starting to take it's toll on the his body. His palms are sweaty, knees' weak, and arm's are heavy. His stomach churned wanting mom's spaghetti. He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready. The clock counts down as he kept his mind steady. Striking zero, he comes charging in a it crazy.

Boom. He falls to the ground. The pressure of the moment froze his feet solid to the ground not giving an inch as the wanderer propelled his body forward, into his opponent's blade. "Damn... he's starting to make ground."

Khrysaor and his opponent slowly backed away with the completion of the last round. He was ecstatic that his last attack actually worked, now he was calm knowing that he was skilled enough and his panicked state began to fade away. He quickly positioned himself in a ready position for when the timer in the clock struck 0. He was breathing hard, and sweat was pouring down his body, but now he was feeling confident in his old equipment

3...2...1...0.

This time Khrysaor did not move right away when the timer reached 0, he was hoping to surprise Rain with this small stalling tactic that he just came up on the fly. As, seconds ticked by Khrysaor faced Rain, while both of them did not move waiting for the other to strike first. They started to walk around in a circle still facing each other, when out of no where Khrysaor made his move. He zig-zagged across running at full speed hoping to outmaneuver Rain he brought his sword up and made a thrusting motion wit his blade, which Rain tried to back-pedal but was not fast enough, getting the strike in.

Khrysaor finally scored a point. That's 1 point closer to the wanderer. His lead was slowly disappearing. His mind grew more flustered. As the wanderer stepped back in his spot, he slowly brought his grip to his sword's handle. His eyes looked down on the ground, his mind just couldn't concentration at the task at hand.

5.... 4... 3..

His mind still wandered around. He didn't want to lose this. He's never been fond of losing.

2...

"No... I need to win."

1...

"I have to win..."

0...

As the clock hit 0, his body began to more almost instinctively. But something just felt off. His movements felt uncomfortable. It's like it wasn't himself. As he rushed forward, he slowly drew his blade. Then, in a flash, the stops in his tracks. A blade pointed right at his chest, as his blade was just about to his opponents body. "No... not fast enough.."

(OOC: Srry, been on hiatus for a long time, going to add more after @Rains turn.)

Khrysaor felt supremely happy with catching up to Rain. He waited patiently for the timer to hit 0, '3 more seconds,' thought Khrysaor. He got into a ready position to make sure he got the first strike in, and when the clock struck 0 indicating for the beginning of the round, Khrysaor jumped from his position straight at Rain and the straightforward movement seemed to surprise Rain, because he was too slow to react and was punctured by Khrysaor's sword right though his chest.
