Victor 0 Posted August 7, 2016 Author #21 Share Posted August 7, 2016 (edited) Before Victor could respond to Takao again, he heard a strange sound behind him. He frowned and turned to find a monster that had spawned right beside him. There wasn't even time to throw Takao a glance for help. Victor gulped the fear that had crawled up his throat. His face however betrayed nothing but calmness. Very slowly he reached for the small dagger concealed in his belt. In a swift motion, he whipped it out and sliced the monster in front of him. It had raised itself a little, perhaps in order to slam its sandy body into Victor. But the Vic was faster. Four quick swipes right across the monsters underside. Before his body had time to fall, it was already blue shards. Vic's heart was pounding in his chest , but his little victory stretched his lips into a smile. "Well, I guess it's luck like this that let's people feel they can handle bigger adversaries." Victor sighed the smile fading. The boy slipped his dagger back into it's designated sheath, indicating that unless necessary again, he would let Takao handle things. "I stick by not taking risks unless its absolutely necessary." The boy said with a small sigh, collecting the meagre items the mob dropped. But somehow, he had had the taste that had led others down dangerous paths, he found his mind in a conflict and wondered if Takao's words defined him too. Takao 0 Posted August 9, 2016 #22 Share Posted August 9, 2016 "Hm." Takao hummed lowly, disguised betwixt an exhale as he watched Vic strike down the monster. His gaze lingered for barely an instant before he turned and continued forward, idly twisting the sword by the handle in his grasp. "S'prolly a good idea not to." He commented, the words directed more-so to himself but still spoke aloud. Takao continued down the hall for some time uncontested, putting him under the assumption that the rest of the monsters in the dungeon were waiting for the pair at the boss doors. Taking various turns and twists here and there, guided by the collaborative effort of his search skills and associated modifications, Takao discovered that his usual assumption was correct. The remaining four monsters lingered in front of the door, ready to strike down any unsuspecting player had they not been struck down in turn before then. His motions were as swift and brutally efficient as ever, each of the four monsters bursting into pieces in turn. "Alright, hold up here a sec'. Gotta swap weapons." Takao said as he swung his sword up over his shoulder and down into the scabbard in a single practiced and smooth motion. Victor 0 Posted August 16, 2016 Author #23 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) Takao wasn't too impressed by Victor's feat and Vic wasn't surprised by that. It was a low level floor, Takao no doubt had seen his fair share of many scarier mobs while scouting for the front lines. The brown eyed boy just sighed. His temporary companion, agreed with his statements in a nonchalant fashion. He didn't have much time to respond adequately, plus he had no idea what to say to an almost disinterested agreement. He once again ran his fingers over the glyphs in the wall, wondering if anymore secret flaps would reveal themselves and possess any treasures in the mini caverns that they were covering. "'Tis about time we ran into the boss, isn't it?" Vic asked with a little curiosity and little concern. He was sure Takao could handle whatever this dungeon sprung on the duo. There was a aplomb in which that boy conducted himself, one that gave an impression of repetition and a lot of practice. "Let me know, just in case you need anything..." he offered, out of mere formality and politeness. He nodded again, when the other guy said he needed to swap weapons for the second time. "More damage? I'm guessing..." Vic asked, interested in the tactics employed. Spoiler ID# 66069: LD 5 No mat found. Edited August 16, 2016 by Victor
Takao 0 Posted August 31, 2016 #24 Share Posted August 31, 2016 "Yeah. More damage." Takao said, not skipping a beat as he cycled through the menu until his inventory was called forth. Gentle chimes played with each touch, eventually resulting in a blue light breaking his weapon down into fragments, only to be replaced with another scabbard appearing on his lower back. "Dagger's got the highest hittin' sword art. O-H-S-S's got a good spread of area-of-effect skills which make it easy t'clear out dungeons like this, and the two handed version's got the hardest hittin' area-of-effect. S'prolly obvious by now, but I tend to play solo, so." Takao said, his voice flattening out into it's usual monotone toward the end of the sentence. He drew Serpent's Bite from his back and spun it in his palm, grasping the handle in reverse-grip. "Y'know. Helps t'have one of each." He added in a quieter, softer tone. Jaded eyes located the door and he stepped up to it, placing his hand upon its cold surface and pushing. "Stay outta sight 'n you'll be fine. I'll make sure I've got its attention."
