[PP:NK:F4] A Step Into the Cold (Syn & Emblem)

Recommended Posts

The blue light shimmered around Syn as she stepped out into Snowfrost. Her hands coming to her arms as she wrapped them around her body breathing out. It was the white haired girl’s first time to the snow laden floor. Kneeling down she runs her fingers through the snow letting out a small sigh. Her feet crunching as she looked around, her eyes wide. “Wow.” She says as she looks at the structures around her. She started wandering through the streets of the town. Her eyes flicking up to a sign showing her an inn before she pushes gently on the door, swinging it open and stepping inside.

Waves of warm air struck the teen, letting out a gasp she quickly stepped inside and pushed the door closed. Quickly stepping over to the bar the girl looks up, “Uh, could I have a hot chocolate please?” Gulping slightly Syn waits for the response from the barkeep before sliding over the appropriate amount of Col. “I wonder where Emblem is, he said he’d show me around this floor.” Opening her menu the girl scrolls to her friends list and when she spots only two names on their she cusses silently. “Why didn’t I add him?!”

Emblem ran up to the nearest teleport pad with his familiar Aisu flying near him. He had totally forgotten about his trip to floor four with one of his new friends Syn. He didn't exactly want to ruin his first impression. He umped onto the teleport pad then shouted the words. Teleport! SnowFrost! Emblem felt himself materialize into the cold village. He had forgotten to wear his warmer clothes today and began to feel the cold air creep up his spine as he began running towards the cafe they agreed on meeting in. Emblem pushed open the doors of the building then shouted Sorry I'm late! He looked up to see everyone in the cafe staring at him. He felt his face turn red and he put his head down and walked towards the counter where he had seen Syn waiting. He sat down at the chair next to her then felt his familiar fly up to his head and settle down onto his head. Hey Syn. Sorry i'm late. God it's cold! Emblem opened his inventory then equipped a blue striped scarf then wrapped it around his neck then threw on a dark blue coat. He looked up at the bar keeper and ordered a coffee. Well it's nice to see you. How have you been?

Syn’s hot chocolate arrived just as a waft of cold air hit the girl’s back. Shivering she turned so that the back of her white hair fell facing the bar. “Sorry I’m late!” Came a familiar voice shouting through. As he walked over to her, Syn glanced around the café noticing that people were looking back and forth between then. Smiling and brushing a lock of her behind her ear before taking a sip of the steaming frothy drink in her hands. “Hey Emblem.” She replies before taking another sip. “It’s okay I’ve only just got here myself.”

She watched with awe her blue eyes sparking. “That’s a beautiful coat.” She says her eyes taking in the embroider that scattered along the material. “I’ve not been too bad. Just…” The girl let out a sigh, “I’m just getting a bit bored to be completely honest. I’m fed up of sitting around towns, although I took Search and Detect as my first skill but then…” Shuddering she closes her eyes for half a second. “You know the rest.” Smiling weakly at her friend, she ducks her head as she takes another sip. “What have you been up to? How’s Aisu?”

Oh well thanks! Emblem replied to the comment about his coat made by Syn. He listened to her talk about being sick of staying in towns. She then asked what he'd been up to. Well not that much actually. I've been helping out players and trying to level up I guess. He took a sip of his coffee after it arrived. The warm drink was very appreciated in the snow covered floor they were in. Aisu's been well thanks for asking! He looked up at his dragon sitting on his head. She seemed excited to be back where she came from. So your first time on floor 4. What do you think? Floor 4 was one of Emblem's favorite floors for many reasons but the best he had to say was it reminded him of his aunt and uncles house where he would play in the snow as a kid. So do you have any warm clothes for the snow?

Her aquamarine eyes glossed over Emblem as she smiled at him, settling on Aisu she reaches out to the dragon offering her hand as a scratching post for a moment. The dragon knocked Syn’s handed down in her excitement. The back of her hand caught Emblem’s cheek. “S- Sorry.” The white haired girl says before turning away, her cheeks turning a deep shade of red. “It’s so beautiful and calm here.” Syn continues, her hand swipes down opening her inventory, “Umm…” As she swiped up and down she couldn’t find any other clothes. “No, I’ve not got anything else. I’m normally alright in this though.” The girl adds in a hurry. “If I button up the trench coat I might be alright.” She whispers quietly to herself.

Emblem watched as Syn's hand went up to pet Aisu's head only for the small dragon to knock it down. Her hand as it came down slapped him in the cheek. He began laughing. No it's fine. Emblem saw her face began to turn red. It's totally fine. You'd be surprised how many times that's happened. Aisu's a little brat. Emblem looked up at his pet who seemed to have understood him and began chewing on his hair in retaliation. Dang it Aisu! Emblem pulled the hair out of Her mouth and told her to sit on his shoulder. She obediently complied. He looked back at Syn. Your right it is. I've thought about opening a forge here but I've decided against it. Emblem watched her open her inventory. Well you can always borrow my coat f it gets too cold out. Emblem smiled at the white haired girl. So when do you want to head out?

“Why have you decided against it?” Syn asks the boy as she dismisses her inventory, smiling at him as he offers her his coat. “I’ll be okay Emblem.” Her hands moving to her chest the girl proceeds to button her coat up before pushing the stool back and standing up. “How about now?” brushing a lock of hair back she reaches for the boy’s hand gently tugging it. Then drops it turning around and walking to the door. “I’ll meet you outside!” Syn calls back to the boy, causing a few stares from various patrons. “What are you doing Syn? Seriously.” She scolds herself as she closes the door behind her. Shivering slightly from the cold she leans against the building opposite. “You need to just get on with it."

Well i don't know maybe I will one day. Emblem shrugged. Syn tugged his hand then suggested that they leave now. Well okay! Emblem got up from his seat then walked out the door after Syn. He was greeted with felt like a slap of cold. His dragon Aisu however cheered at the feeling of the cold. It was after all the place that she lived before Emblem tamed her. He pointed up to a large mountain. Why don't we head up there Syn? He had never been up there yet and hoped that maybe something cool would be up there for them to explore.

Looking at her friend, Syn gave him a small smile. Nodding. “Y-yeah, okay.” The girl began to walk with him, her feet dragging through the snow before she stopped at the edge of town “There’s just one thing Emblem.” Her eyes looking at his, “I… I have not fighting skills. I’m putting all my points into being able to find things at the moment.” Closing her eyes Syn swallows, “Why is this so hard?!” she thinks “I’ll need you to look after me if that’s okay?” Her hands were in front of her as the girl rubbed them together, looking down at floor by the boy’s feet.

Emblem looked over at Syn as they stopped at the edge of the town. Oh no that's totally fine! Emblem opened his inventory and equipped his sword "Warriors Spirit" then felt it's usual weight materialize onto his back. Don't worry. I'm not going to let anything happen to you. Emblem whistled for his dragon who was off playing in the snow. She looked up then flew up onto his shoulder. Well then. Lets get going! Emblem began walking into the snow towards the mountains. There was the occasional tree topped with snow. It reminded him of Christmas movies he would watch when he was little.

The sword that materialised onto Emblem’s back was a beautiful silver Syn couldn’t help but stare. “Emblem… That’s gorgeous.” Following him through the snow laden path towards the mountain, a soft white coating on the ground. Syn looks at the boy, as he is facing away a smile on her lips. “Say Emblem… I heard rumours that there’s a frozen lake nearby...” Her voice trails off as she speaks. “I really hope he didn’t hear that.” Looking up at Aisu, Syn sticks her tongue out at the dragon. “It’s really pretty here, it’s almost like we could be on a…” Suddenly the girl wasn’t able to speak, instead she shivered and stepped a bit closer to Emblem.

Emblem looked back at Syn "Emblem... That's gorgeous." Oh thanks! A guild I used to be in had a blacksmith as the leader so she made me this.  Emblem continued through the snow covered fields. He thought he heard Syn saying something about a frozen lake but he wasn't too sure if she did so he decided he would stay quiet. Emblem spotted something out of the corner of his eye. Wait. I found something. He knelt down to a bush and picked of some berries that could only be found on floor 4. This might come in handy. Emblem continued walking. He felt Aisu fly off of his head and onto Syn's shoulder. he looked back at her. Well it looks like she likes you. He smiled than kept on walking. "It's really pretty here, it's almost like we could be on a..." Emblem looked back to see Syn shiver then more closer to him. Hey are you alright?

As the blue dragonling landed on her shoulder the girl giggled, her hand reaching up and gently scratching Aisu’s head as Emblem’s question reached her ears. “Hey are you alright?” She looked at him nodding, “Y-yeah, I’m just a bit cold.” Gently bumping into his shoulder with his as she replies, the girl’s cheeks are a rose red as another shiver runs down her body. “I didn’t realise It’d be -this- cold. Sorry.” A small flashed at Emblem before Teayre pointed up ahead of them where a creature had turned its head. The large gnarled hands with claws on the end, fangs the size of Emblem’s sword could be clearly seen."What's that..."

Emblem slowly pulled his sword out of his sheathe then slowly moved towards the troll. Be careful Syn. Emblem activated his sword skill vorpal strike and felt his sword glow a bright orange and double in length. He ran towards the troll and plunged his sword into the monster. His sword pierced through the mob. It burst into billions of fragments around. him. He turned back to Syn. He took off his coat and walked towards her and held it out to her. Here. You said you were cold right? Emblem smiled. So do you want to keep on going?

Syn watched as Emblem dispatched the troll. Quickly smiling to herself whilst his back was turned, she looks up at Aisu. “We’re gonna be completely safe with him aren’t we?”  Brushing some hair behind her ear the white haired girl meets Emblem’s eyes. “T-thanks.” She says as she slips into the coat holding it tightly to her. “It’s so warm” she mutters as she feels the boy’s hands let go. Turning her eyelids flutter for a second as she looks at Emblem. “Are you going to be okay? I wouldn’t want you getting cold…” She says as she realises that the cold that had been hitting completely vanished and reaches up quickly to take the coat off. Nodding at Emblem’s next question Syn smiles at him. “What about making are way to the lake? I heard rumours it was at the most eastern side of the mountain.”

No problem Syn! I'll be fine I'm sure I have a spare. Emblem opened his inventory and laughed to himself. I totally forgot about this! Emblem pressed the button and felt his new armor materialize over his clothes. It was a chest plate with engraved images of roses. The only downfall to the armor according to Emblem was the fact that it was a pink color. Luckily it wasn't completely pink it was more of a silver with a pinkish tinge. This should keep me pretty warm. Emblem adjusted his sword on his back with the new armor on. Yeah the lake sounds great! I've heard about it before. Hopefully we don't run into many more mobs. Emblem smiled as Aisu nuzzled Syn with her head. He turned around and began walking east towards the lake.

The corners of the white haired girl's lips twitched as she watched Emblem equip the white rose armour. “That's really pretty.” she comments, “It suits you.” Blushing she turns away and feels a small rubbing on her cheek. Looking down she finds that it's the bluish white dragonling nuzzling her. “Hey Aisu,” Syn says he hand reaching up and absent mindedly she begins to scratch the young creature behind the ear. Her feet crunching in the snow as she wrapped the warm cloak around her some more.

“Say Emblem...” She started before noticing he had gone on ahead.Rolling her eyes at herself she makes a quick run to catch up. The boy's familiar bouncing on her shoulder. “Say Emblem,” She began for a second time, this time her shoulder bumping against the boy's. “What do you think people might think, if they see us walking along side each other.” Giggling joyfully she quickly glances to her side, looking at Emblem out of the corner of her eye.

Emblem smiled at Syn's comment about his armor. Oh well thanks. Emblem began to walk and looked back as he saw Syn running to catch up with him. then felt her shoulder bump against his. He looked over at her as she began to ask him a question. "What do you think people might think, if they see us walking along side each other?" Emblem thought for a second. Well if your brother saw us he'd probably kill me. Emblem laughed. But I guess they'd think we were on a date or something like that. Emblem kept walking next to her. He took one more step unknowingly onto the frozen lake Syn had talked about. His foot slid onto the ice then gave way. He fell onto the ice with a thud as his body hit the ice. Well I think we found the lake...

“A… A date?” Syn stammers after Emblem spoke the word her face going bright red. Before she burst into giggles as the blonde haired boy fell onto the frozen surface of the lake. “Emblem!” She calls out, “Are you okay?” Dashing over to him the girl kneels down, creases in her forehead as she looks at the boy. “You’re not hurt are you?” As she glanced up to his health bar the girl gives a sigh of relief. “Good.” Offering her hand to him she tugs the coat around her a bit tighter with her spare hand. “This is really warm… Thank you.” She says blinking a couple of times as the cold stung her eyes.

Emblem laughed then took Syn's arm as she helped him up. Yeah i'm fine. It was just a slip. Emblem looked at Syn and felt his face begin to turn red. Umm yeah no problem. Thanks for helping me up. Emblem looked at the lake before them trying to see if there were any monsters out at the lake. He had never been there before and didn't know if there were any spawn points here for mobs. He pulled out his sword and looked around. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted two figures walking towards him. Stay here Syn i think there's some mobs ahead. emblem began to slowly make his way towards the mobs looking behind and his friend making sure she was safe. As he got closer he could make out two beastly looking snowmen creature looked over at him with demonic smiles. Emblem readied his weapon the activated a sword skill. Emblem charged at the monsters and activated a sword skill as he ran. The ice however wasn't very forgiving and he slipped on the ice and began to slide towards the monsters. Emblem continued his sword skill and delivered the attack while on the ground after he did this though the mobs attacked him. He felt his nerves numbing at the place of attack. Emblem grit his teeth and looked up at his health bar. Not much HP was taken away but that was still him closer to death.
