[PP-F2] New Horizons (Emblem) - COMPLETED

Recommended Posts

Cygnus leaned up on the wall outside the inn, taking in the atmosphere of the city of Urbus. He munched on a crust of bread as he watched the comings and goings of the people. A small smile found its way to his lips. This was what he wanted. Freedom, exploration. seeing new sights. He felt like there was no limit to where he could go now. The first floor seemed so small and crowded after he had been there for awhile. In this new city, he felt that he could finally stretch his legs for awhile. The victories in combat that he had were enough to give him a confidence boost to where he could get out of that place. Just like he thought; 100% a mental struggle. With a chuckle, he finished his bread and slid down the wall until he was setting to the side of the steps that led to the inn.

Emblem walked out of an inn he had spent the night inn. He had his hands behind his head and was whistling. His familiar sat atop his head looking around He looked to the left of him only to see Cygnus one of his friends he had met recently. He was sitting down next to the steps of the inn. Emblem noticed the man as wearing new armor and a new great-sword was swung over his back. Oh well hey Cygnus! He walked over to where Cygnus was sitting. It looks like you've improved your gear quite a lot! Emblem looked down at his armor. He still had the basic armor you get when you first log in. I really need to upgrade my gear. He sat down next to the man. So, you made it to floor 2 congratulations!

Cygnus was still seated whenever his friend, Emblem showed up. Cygnus didn't notice him at first, certain that he was just another patron on his way out this morning. However, once Emblem spoke to him, he looked up at the guy and waved. "Good morning! Good to see you again." His posture straightened with pride at the mention of is new gear. A wide grin began forming on his face. "Thank you! I got this stuff from Forged by the Sun. The owner is really nice." At the mention of him making it to the second floor, the grin on his face grew even more. "Thanks a lot! Once I got this new gear, I felt much better about exploring further." He examined Emblem's armor once the other player mentioned needing an upgrade. It was still the basic stuff; same that he had before he got his upgrade. He remembered just how vulnerable he felt in it. "Yeah, it seems you do need an upgrade. May I ask why you haven't yet? Not enough Col or something?" He asked, accessing his inventory and selecting a canteen of water. He took a few sips before putting it back.

hmm well not necessarily not enough Col. More like I just haven't really gotten around to it yet. I'm defiantly going to soon. How was Forged by the Sun? I'll think about maybe getting my new gear there.  Emblem smiled. You know what? I just realized we never actually fought in battle together yet. What do you say? Emblem was eager to get out and fight something. he didn't really know why but he just did. Maybe it was the stress of the game catching up with him or he was just bored but what ever the reason he hoped he could go fight with someone.

Cygnus nodded along as Emblem spoke of why he hadn't upgraded his gear yet. "Well, I haven't been to many shops, but this one was great! The owner is talented and is responsible for the gear you see here. The area around is a little desolate, so i'm sure she'd appreciate the business. It's on the fifth floor if you want to check it out some time." He smiled. Once Emblem suggested they get some battle experience together, Cygnus looked to be excited. "For sure!" He stood immediately. It seemed Cygnus has developed a love for battle since last they met. "Where to? Got any specific spawns in mind? I haven't been on this floor very long, so I don't have much of an idea about lucrative spawn locations." His fingers twitched, itching to draw his sword and get to work. He didn't feel even the slightest bit nervous, more than likely since Emblem was going to be with him.

Awesome! Emblem excitedly opened his inventory with the usual two finger swipe with his right hand and equipped his sword. Well no spawn points in particular. I guess we can just go and find one ourselves. He adjusted the strap on his chest holding his sword in place. Well then lets get going! Emblem began walking towards the gate separating the safe-zone from the fields. No even though the mobs here are weaker than most we still have to be careful. If the monsters gang up on us were in just as much trouble as it would be if a high level monster attacked us.

Cygnus nodded as Emblem warned him of getting ganged up on. He was aware the battles here would be no cakewalk, seeing as how he could still in theory get killed by boars on the first floor. "So, what kinds of enemies are on this floor?" He asked, looking around to try and spot anything. "Like, do we still just have the regular boars? Can we run into more types of enemies yet?" He paused, then let out a nervous chuckle. "Sorry. Like I said, I haven't been on this floor very long. Haven't even left the city before just now." He was a little embarassed to ask, but he didn't want to get blindsided by a new enemy and have no clue how to beat them.

Hmm. Well seeing that this whole town is made of rock theirs a possibility that there will be some rock monsters out there.  But I haven't done much combat here so it'll be a surprise to me too. He made it to the gate that separated the safezone from the fields. Shall we? Emblem walked through the gate and pulled out his sword. He began looking to spot some monsters. He began walking deeper into the fields. It was mostly a forest like field but also with it's fair share of mountains. He rested his sword on his shoulder like a baseball bat then scanned the surrounding area looking for a mob.

Cygnus also scanned the surrounding area, looking for any sign of a mob. With a frown, he almost gave up, but after what seemed like forever, he finally spotted a large figure in the distance. It looked to be made of rock, just as Emblem predicted. It was about eight feet tall-- much taller than the two of them-- and it simply wandered around a nearby clearing seemingly mindlessly. Cygnus pat Emblem on the soulder to get his attention before pointing out the giant rock creature. "How about that one right there? Seems ripe and ready to be killed." Cygnus's eager fingers quickly reached up to his sword and pulled the thing out of its sheath,m holding it out in front of him defensively.

Okay, sounds good to me! Emblem put his sword out in front of him. Mind if I go for the first hit? Emblem ran at the rock monster trying to divert it's attention. As soon as he got the mob to start winding up for an attack he rolled around it and stabbed it in the back then jumped away from it before it could react. It turned around and focused on Emblem. Okay! Now's your chance! Hit it while it's distracted on me! Emblem kept his eyes on the monster praying that Cygnus's attack hit. He only had a few seconds before the monster started it's attack again.

Cygnus followed Emblem's lead and charged this rock person. He wondered if his sword would do any good against it. His blade was sharp, but could it actually cut through solid stone? Was this golem even made out of solid stone? Fighting in a virtual world was difficult. Even though your opponent looked to be made out of solid stone, that didn't necessarily mean they would be as tough as the material that they seemed to be made out of. As Cygnus approached the golem, he roared, swinging his blade straight down at this thing's leg. As he went for the blow, however, the golem went ahead to attack Emblem again, causing Cygnus to cut through the air where the golem's leg used to be. His blade bit into the ground, illiciting a curse from the player.

Emblem watched hopefully as Cygnus went for the attack then missed. Crap! The rock golem turned it's head and decided for a moment who he would go for. He stayed with Emblem then started moving towards him. It swung it's giant fist down on the ground were Emblem had been standing but luckily he was able to dodge it. Emblem tried to go to attack but he tripped over one of the golem's fingers sending him onto the ground. His sword flew out of his hand and landed about a yard away from him. The golem decided it would try and take it's chance and hit Emblem while he was down. Get him now Cygnus!

Cygnus rushed over to Emblem when he tripped and fell. It seemed he lost his weapon too, so Cygnus decided he would try to hold the thing off for a second while his ally picked up his sword. He rushed the golem and let out a roar as he swung his blade at his target again. This time, he struck it right in its lower back, eliciting an angry roar from the creature. He grinned, finishing his cut and then taking a couple of steps back to admire the long, red, horizontal gash in the creature's back. He looked back just to make sure that Emblem managed to pick up his weapon. "Are you alright there?" He would ask afterward, keeping his blade up in a defensive manner, prepared for the inevitable situation where the golem would decide to try again.

Emblem jumped up then picked up his weapon. Thanks for the save Cygnus! Emblem smiled. It felt great to have someone helping him. Cygnus had managed to get a successful hit on the monster. Emblem decided he would try and finish of the monster with a sword art. he activated one of his old ones Sonic leap and lunged at the monster. His blade shown a bright green as he brought his sword down onto the monster shattering it into thousands of pieces. He took a breath then put his sword back in its sheath. Great job Cyg! Emblem looked at his friend and smiled.

Cygnus grinned as Emblem congratulated him on a job well done. He sheathed his greatsword and scratched his head nervously. "Hehe, thanks. You did well yourself. I need to start using sword arts. I think that would really help me in my battles." He stretched as he looked around for more mobs. "So, you wanna go for another one? I still feel nice and invigorated and i'm itching to get my sword bloody again. Figuratively speaking of course." Not like these things had any blood to give them. He looked back at Emblem to await his response.

Emblem smiled. Yeah I just recently started using them and there working a heck of a lot better than I thought. Emblem laughed as he expressed his need to go and fight some more mobs. Haha well I don't see why not.  Emblem sheathed his sword and walked over to some trees looking around for some more rock golems for the two to fight together. Emblem pulled his sword back out the twirled it around. as he looked. So Cygnus. Have you started to make friends with anyone else around here? Emblem looked around at the forest chewing on his tongue as he looked.

Cygnus suppressed a loud cheer and simply nodded happily. "Capital! Let's get going!" He followed Emblem as he walked around the forest, on the lookout for anymore rock golems. Cygnus kept his sword on his shoulder, scanning the area around intently. His attention was pulled to Emblem once he asked about whether or not Cygnus made any other friends. He looked back with a smile. "Yeah, a few. A girl named Kooh and someone named Victor. I've spent more time with Kooh though. I taught her a little basic combat." He grinned proudly. "I hope to make many more friends though. And spend some time with the friends I have already made. You never know when it's going to be your last day alive. Especially here." He spotted another golem, standing near a cliffside smashing rocks into it. He gestured for Emblem to come over to where he was.

Hmm Kooh and Victor, yeah I know both of them. You might want to be careful around Victor. He almost stabbed me with a dagger as a joke. He laughed. It wasn't exactly funny. Emblem walked closer into the forest as only for Cygnus to gesture him closer to the cliff side. He whispered to Cygnus. Okay. Ill go out and get it's attention then you go up and hit it with a sword art if you can. Emblem pulled his sword out then ran up to the golem then swung his towards it hitting the ground in front of it getting it's attention. It swung it's arms around then looked at Emblem and slowly approached it.

Cygnus nodded when Emblem gave his strategy. "Got it. On your mark, then." He waited until Emblem finally dashed towards the golem and struck the ground in front of it to get its attention. Now. He readied his sword and ran towards the golem with a fierce battle cry. Okay. Sword Arts. Sword Arts. He tried to remember how to do it. It had been so long since he read the guide. Like... this? Unsure of what exactly he was doing, he bent his knees mid-charge and oo Cygnus's surprise, it was like something took control of his body, causing him to lunged forward at his target to deliver a solid thrust to its back. It turned out of the way at the last second though, causing Cygnus to miss it by inches. Cygnus didn't even seem angry though. He was still amazed at the way the system took control of him. "Wow... that was something..."
