(PP-NK-F4) Dance of the Wild <<Grandmaster>>

Hakai waited outside of the main settlement of the fourth floor for Xion. She had finally gotten enough points to grandmaster her weapon skills, although she still couldnt use them to their full potential. She needed martial arts for that. So while she hadn't, in her opinion, grandmastered them, the game cetainly believed that she had. Now that she finally had the rank five sword arts, she wanted to test them out, possibly on some field bosses. Still, she wanted some backup, so she had asked her friend Xion to meet up with her so that she could safely test these new skills out.

Xion appeared out of the teleport gate on the fourth floor in a flash of blue light, the blonde tank sighing as he strode forwards, the snow crunching underneath his armoured boots. "So Hakai's Gming her weapon? This is good news" he said to himself as he continued to walk towards the main exit from Snowfrost with purpose, the player not bothered by the cold of the floor thanks to his survival skill. After a few minutes of walking through the crisp white snow Xion saw Hakai, waiting just outside the gate of the town, the p;ayer nodding towards her as he neared. "Hakai, good to hear that you've maxed out your Wild dance skill, I bet your damage has received a nice boost then" he said with a smile.

Hakai smiled as she saw Xion approaching. She turned around to face him, listening as he congratulated her on ranking up her wild dance skills. "well, no actually by too much. Although i've grandmastered the weapon theres still an aspect to wild dance that most people dont know about. I might have grandmastered the skill itself, but the big damage boost comes when I get two ranks of martial arts." She explained. She looked down at her hands before looking back up at him. "Luckily i've already done the martial arts quest, all i need to do now is get the thirteen skill points to unlock that aspect of the weapon..."

Xion frowned as he listened to the girl's explanation about how the skill was limited in power until the use had two ranks in martial arts, which was an extra skill awarded by the breaking the unbreakable quest, one which Xion was yet to do. "I see...it's much like Katana, in the sense that two ranks of another skill need to be put into it for it to even be useful or usable in the case of Katana...Well, I'll help you in getting those 13 SP as we seem to be able to take down quests with relatively good speed" he said with a smile  before equipping his glaive and shield. "Right, let's GM that weapon skill...also, remind me to challenge you to a duel once you're level 25 or higher...I've never faced a wild dance user, or someone with your particular build"

Hakai nodded. She had been planning on getting his help with earning that SP, so she was glad to hear that he would help her. "Well, i've never done PvP before, so I look forward to it." She paused. "Now, how exactly do you go about grandmastering a skill? Just go and and stab some things?" She queried, unsheathing her claws as Xion equipped himself, as it appeared that they would be going out to fight something.  She grinned at him excitedly, wanting to put these new skills to the test. She actually rarely used sword arts, thanks to her DoT's, so this would be a great chance to test them out and see how strong she had become recently.

"It's reasonably fun as long as you're not seriously outgunned, it allows you to test your skills against an opponent which is more intelligent and dangerous than your average mob. I think that if you get close to my level it would be interesting, I mean my mitigation may be scary when you look at it but there are ways around it. And  most opponents realise that they don't have to be scared of my spear at all pretty quickly" he said to her as she too equipped herself, which told the tank that she was probably going to go hunting, and thus they would need to find something befitting of a grandmaster to fight. 

"I would say prove your skills against a dangerous mob, one which could pose an actual threat to you. I'll be here to intervene if things go south"

Hakai smirked, showing a cokiness that she usually didnt. "Hey, it'd take a floor boss to take me down. I'm sure whatever you have in mind, i'll be fine. Im not all that familiar with this floor, so lead the way to a mob worthy of my talents." She said grinning now, half joking. She sheathed her claws again, assuming that it would be a while before they arrived wherever they were going. She opened up her HUD and flitted through her menu tothe weapons section, glancing at the three other pairs of claws that she had stored there. There were her starting claws, a pair with bleed and damage on them, and lastly, a silver pair with full damage. She wasnt sure whether or not to switch. She wanted to prove her worth, and she relied very heavily on the demonic claws that she had been using. She quickly switched them out and now heathed the silver tekko kagi at her side, storing the demonics in her storage for the moment. "All right. Seeing as I'm grandmastering wild dance, I should do the sword arts justice rather than relying on my DOT's." She explained.

Xion chuckled as he saw how confident and almost cocky Hakai was now. "I wouldn't be so sure, a floor boss could take out me, but you can definitely take on a field boss level monster now...in fact, I can probably find one with a bit of searching...follow me" Xion told her as he marched off into the frozen tundra of the fourth floor, the pure white flakes flecking his hair and covering his armour before quickly melting, although he did look a little whiter than before. "It should be...close...to say the least" Xion mumbled to himself as he searched for the creature which he thought was a worthy challenge for Hakai, the tank leading her to the top of a mountain where the terrain plateau'd , the rocky ground was covered with snow still but a circle of engravings could be barely made out beneath it. "This...this is the place Hakai..." he said, turning to face her, as he did a large bird swooped down into the large circle of engravings. It looked as if it was on fire, the creature emanating a blue swirling and shifting aura. "This, is the grand ice phoenix of the mountain..." he told her.

Hakai stared at the boss, quickly opening up her HUD and switching back to her demonic claws. She knew bosses like these, and they always had a ton of mitigation. She asnt going to risk using sub par weapons on this thing. Almost as soon as she had switched the weapons out the giant ice pheonix thing flew at her, attempting to claw her. She easily rolled out of the way and prepared to counterattack. "This will be a piece of cake Xion. Prepare to witness me taking this thing on solo!" She declared excitedly.

Xion chuckled as he saw that Hakai had switched to her demonic  DOT claws. "maybe that will make the fight too easy...I picked this mob under the assumption that she wasn't going to use her DOT. But oh well, what is done is done..." The blonde said as he stood vigilant, making sure that he kept a close watch on her HP bar just in case he needed to intervene. Meanwhile, Shiva the ice phoenix screeched down at Hakai, her frozen wings beating cold air onto the woman as she lashed out with her beak, missing Hakai narrowly.

Hakai glanced over at Xion as she dodged the pheonix, her evasion allowing her to dodge the enemy easily. She swiped with her claws in retaliation, but missed by a mile as the bird had already gone quite a bit past her by the time she attempted her attack. She almost fell over from the miss, but managed to catch her balance before she fell over completely. She felt as though she was making a fool of herself in front of Xion due to her miss. She raised her claws again, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath as she prepared to attack the phoenix after its next attack.

Xion's eyes narrowed into focused slits as he watched Hakai, there was something...off about her fighting. She didn't seem to be as focused as usual, she didn't have that passion, that fire that he had seen before. "What's unnerved her...?" he asked himself as he crossed his arms, for once he felt like a master scrutinising his student rather than the other way around, it was a nice feeling. Shiva circled the arena, her icy eyes glaring at Hakai as the player focused on her, the ice phoenix scratching at her with a talon but missing.

Hakai frowned to herself, her eyes still closed as she breathed in and out slowly. She could hear the flapping wings of the enemy, but she tuned it out for a moment. To an outsider, it might look as though she were calming herself, but in truth, it was the exact opposite. She was gathering all of her hatred and anger inside of her, bending the emotions to give her strength. She opened her eyes, hearing the pheonix almost on her, and started to punch, her fists and claws flying in a blur at the bird, claws burying themselves in the bosses face over and over again until the sword art finished, before rolling to the side, the wounds on the birds face glowing green.

Xion smiled as Hakai had landed a hit, and a good one at that, not only had she dealt some semi decent damage she also activated her DOTs which mean that the phoenix would start to lose health rapidly. "Well done Hakai, done like a true master of the claw!" he shouted to her, encouraging the girl as the phoenix swooped down from above, it's beak striking the ground next to her several times as it failed and failed over and over to find its mark thanks to her evasion.

"Well, I am a solo build. My evasion and mitigation keep me alive in the long run so that my claws can do the work." She called out to explain to him the intricacies of her build. As the pheonix missed her thanks to her evasion equipment, she swiped a claw at it, the back of the tekko kagi braced against the back of her palm. She claws missed, and the bird managed to get onto its feet and take off into the air again. Maybe she should get some accuracy or something. She looked over at Xion again. "How about you join in and we can finish this off a little faster? My old sensei once told me that a persons greatest enemy and friend is their stomach, and im starting to get a bit hungry!" She called out to him.

Xion sighed as Hakai asked for him to join in the fight, the tank unfolding his arms and grabbing his glaive. "I wanted you to fight on your own, but I shall help" he told her before walking towards the monster, the blonde inhaling before letting out a deafeningly loud Howl, the creature' head snapping in his direction as it's focus turned to him. "Good, now attack me beast" he said before the phoenix swiped at him with it's talons, the beast missing completely.

Hakai looked or at Xion as he howled, joining the fight. He seemed a little disappointed that. She had asked him to join in and helo her out. She didnt really understand why though. She could take this bird out easily given enough time, but it would take forever. She just sidnt see the point of wasting fime fighting a monster when they werent really even going to get any skill points from it. She charged the pheonix from the side and unleashed the same sword art, her fists flying, before backing off again. She definately preferred working in a team rather than going solo. It was usually much faster.

As the bird circled above them Xion's eyes narrowed into focused slits. Striking it was going to be hard, mainly because the tank had no accuracy enhancements nor many points in his weapon skill, and thus he needed the beast's attacks to find their mark, although they were yet to do so which meant that the fight was doomed to last even longer, something that annoyed the tank greatly. "Bloody thing..." he said as the beast swooped down, XIon swinging with his glaive and missing as it did the same with a talon. "This will take ages"

Hakai swung a claw at the enemy as it flew by again, almost seeming to be taunting them. She could see it now... they got it down to five health and then it flew off so that they couldnt finish it off. Thankfully it seemed as though Xion was starting to realize why she had asked him to help her. This bird just had too much health and mitigation for someone to solo, at least in a timely manner. Plus, this fight wasnt really going to ge them anything if they won. They would just need to hope that the bird would get hit by Xions thorns and that her damage over time effects would activate.

Xion angrily looked up at the flying beast, the tank was annoyed greatly by both it's elusiveness and it's apparent ineptitude when it came to actually landing any blows. "Tch...the issue with tank builds, your opponents essentially decide whether you deal damage or not..." he said to himself, wondering whether putting some points into his weapon skill would be a good idea...probably. The creature swooped down once more, it swiping at Xion with it's claws while the tank swung with his glaive, both of them missing as Xion's face became a little red with frustration. "Just hit me already!" he yelled.
