[Sp-F3] Mats for a friend II <Itzal> complete

Recommended Posts

Itzal and Velnia returned to the third floor.  It had been a while and they'd only been here once before but they knew where not to go.  And how to avoid the mobs.  He walked along the road and secretly hoped that another npc would arrive to keep him company like last time.  For now however he didn't know much of this floor so the best idea was to go out and explore.  Velnia glided beside him at eye level and began humming a tune she heard him working on last night.  He shook his head.

"The lyrics are terrible on that one," he mentioned, and sighed.  "I really need a partner to write songs.  I'm just no good at it."

Itzal kicked at a small stone while he walked.  How would he write a song?  The old man said to write from the heart, but what did his heart want to sing?  He had absolutely no idea whatsoever.  Velnia could tell he was upset and decided to lighten the mood.  As Itzal walked she puffed some smoke at his face.  He coughed a couple times and turned to scold her but saw that she wasn't there.  He grinned when he realized she wanted to play hide and seek.

"Fine!" he called out.  "Let's see how long you last!"

OOC-  Even though I don't have to, I'll use the rolls for the loot as if I was also searching for a player.  It's for Velnia and not any actual player or npc, completely for rp purposes

Itzal walked around comfortably with his hands in his pockets.  "Oh no!" he called out sarcastically.  "Wherever did she go?"  He knew exactly where.  He knew her very well after all there time together.  He walked slowly around, pretending to look for her when in reality he knew she was in one of the trees.  He looked in bushes and behind rocks.  When the breeze blew he heard a sound that wasn't the wind.  He turned sharply and pointed at a specific tree.  "Gotcha." he told her.  She flew out and blew smoke at him again, causing him to cough once more.  "Fine," he muttered.  "We'll do two out of three but then we've got to get moving!"

Itzal walked over and reached up in another tree, feeling her tail almost immediately and yanked her down.  When she emerged he saw her munching on an apple.  "What where?"  He glanced up at the tree but saw nothing.  He leg go of Velnia who glided to the ground and continued her munchin' as he climbed up the tree.  He looked among the branches and discovered another apple.  "What's an apple doing in the oak tree?"  He grabbed regardless and made his way down.  "Well that's one."

Itzal put the apple in his inventory and grinned at Velnia.

"Alright I found you twice.  Now what?"  She cocked her head and flew onto his shoulder.  He nodded.  "Back to hunting then."  He looked around and spotted two mountains with a good amount of space in between.  Deciding that it might be a good place to find MATs he started walking that way.  Maybe he'd find some ores for Xion there or some food for Adhae.

Itzal thought about songs he might write.  He'd obviously sing and play songs from video games, but he did want a song from his heart.  He thought of the three basic buffs that a preformer can make:  Healing, damage MIT, and....  One other he couldn't recall at the moment.  When he pondered over healing he couldn't help but think of his sister, who loved everyone and everything.  He smiled.  His first song would be about love.  He knew he couldn't make a healing buff until he reached a specific level but that was ok.  He could practice with pre-made songs.  As they neared the first mountain he found an ore beside the cliffside.

"Well well!" he said as he picked it up.  "2 down."

Itzal looked up and saw that the area between the two mountains was filled with a lake.  The water sparkled and shined.  There was woods nearby on nearly every side besides the south end, and Itzal could practically feel the presence of a cave.  He smiled at Velnia and made his way over.  He leaned over the edge of the water and splashed his face and washed his hands.  He heard a splash and saw Velnia take a dive, causing the surface to break and he watched the ripples make their way to the other side.  As he did he noticed that one of the mountains hung over a portion of the lake, creating shade and a perfect place to camp.  Maybe they'd stay here a while.  Who knows?  Maybe he could put his shop here.

Itzal decided to walk around the lake for a bit and explore it's shores.  As he walked he passed the woods and noticed that there were verbana flowers scattered around the floor.  The trees were tall and spread apart, enough room to fight or play games in.  He walked into the overhang and smiled.  Even with the overhang there was enough light for most people to see, and it was definitely a big enough space for a house.  Maybe not a two story house but definitely a house.  'Or a store' he thought with a grin.  He looked down and saw an ore next to the stony wall.  'And some ores too!  That's three'.

As Itzal put the ore in his inventory his eyes spotted another one nearby.  When he picked it up to inspect it he discovered that it was a rare ore!  'score,' he thought.  'that's 4 now.  Hopefully my luck doesn't run out.'  He put it in his inventory and walked over to the forest.  He could see everywhere thanks to the spaces in the trees and the lack of brush.  He glanced up and saw that though it would be hard, if he climbed to the top the tree's branches crowded together making it easy to travel by branches.  Though it looked like it might easily make noise.  Still, it was a good practice ground.  Maybe he could teach someone the technique if they didn't already.

Itzal was about to turn back when he caught sight of something.  He noticed something off about one of the mountains.  He made his way over wondering what it could possibly be.  As he drew closer he saw that it was a cave.  The entrance was a little less than a sliver of an opening, so it was difficult for anyone to even see it if they weren't looking.  He walked over and, thanks to his shortness and slightly slender body, he made it through.  Once he was inside he noticed how bright it was.  That's when he noticed that the cave was filled with familiar glowing gems.  The room was in the shape of a circle with a dome ceiling.  Yes.  This place was perfect for his shop/home.

Itzal snapped out of the daze when he faintly heard Velnia make a worried cry.  He walked back to the entrance and whistled for her.  Now that she was aware of where he was she flew over.  He waited as she probably searched for the cave entrance, then finally saw her poke her head in the opening.  When she grinned he laughed.  She looked so comical when she smiled.  She flew over and around the whole cave and landed on Itzal's shoulder.

"Let's see if there's any loose crystals shall we?" He walked over to the right and stopped by a large collection of green crystals.  He tugged at one but it didn't give.

Itzal made his way around, checking once every few times when he saw a crystal he liked.  Soon enough he took a break and sat down.  He smiled at Velnia and pulled out the basic cheap bread he typically had and tossed three whole ones to Velnia who dove into her meal eagerly.

"You burn through our food like there's no tomorrow," he muttered and took a bite.  It was the perfect location.  The store could sit at the base of the lake with the overhang keeping the elements from touching his house.  That way part of the building could be open to the outdoors, like a tiny courtyard.  He imagined it in his mind.  Right beside the lake would be a tiny dock, which connected to the left side of the tiny courtyard.  The courtyard would have walls with windows and the entrance would be an archway.  In the center of the courtyard would be a small firepit with a couch and two chairs.  On the other side of the entry way would be three steps upward to the counter where he'd sell his songs.  Directly to the right of the counter would be the door to his bedroom.  He smiled.  Yes that would work nicely.

And then there was this cave.  Perfect for him to pick crystals to make songs out of.

Itzal finished his bread only moments before Velnia.  He shook his head at her.

"If you keep eating that fast you'll hurt yourself."  She stuck her tongue at him before flying in circles again.  Itzal stood up and went around a second time, pulling at different crystals.  He came around and pulled at a yellow one and it gave way.  Itzal smiled at the find.  'That's 5'.  He placed it in his inventory than motioned to Velnia to head out of the cave and followed closely behind her.

Itzal looked at the lake and wanted to take a swim himself.  So he walked to the edge and switched Niger Natio for his cloth clothes.  When they appeared he took his shirt off and left his shorts on.  He hung his shirt on a tree branch and walked over to the water.  He looked up and grinned when he saw that it was around two o' clock, when the day was warmest.  He touched the water with his toe and was pleased that it wasn't too cold.  With that he dived into the water.  His body adjusted to the coldness quickly and he resurfaced.  Once he did he dived a second time.  After a little swimming he challenged himself to try reaching the bottom of the lake.  As he swam deeper and deeper he noticed something sparkle.  Itzal was astonished to have found another ore down here!  He touched it and pressed the according button in his menu that transported the item to his inventory.  Unable to hold his breath much longer he returned to the surface.  'That's 6'.

Itzal pulled himself out of the water and cleaned out his ears.  He walked over to grab his shirt when he saw that it wasn't there.  He looked around and spotted Velnia hovering by the trees with a sly grin and his shirt.

"Hey!" he shouted and she took off.  Itzal dashed after her, chasing her through the forests trying to grab the shirt that was within his jumping height.  Anytime he got close enough to jump and grab it however, she'd make a sharp turn.  Eventually though he managed to get his hands on the shirt, pulling her down as well.  While she cackled and laughed on the forest floor Itzal dried his body off with the shirt before switching back to Niger Natio.  "Don't do that again," he said and she laughed once again.

Itzal sighed and looked around.

"Why don't we camp here for the night?" he suggested.  "Get a break from that stupid inn."  Velnia grinned and made a loop the loop in the air.  Itzal motioned for her to calm down.  "Now we're gonna need something to sleep on, wood for a fire, and some food ok?"  Velnia grinned and flew off immediately, causing Itzal to sigh.  She could never stay still for five minutes that dragon.  He walked through the woods, collecting decent firewood as he did.  His eyes landed on something that made him smile.  This place was an ore mine!  He walked over and placed the ore into his inventory.  'That's 7'.

Once he put it in his inventory he continued looking for firewood.  Itzal thought about it and realized that the floor under the overhang was fairly soft.  If he lay down his cloth clothes he could easily have a comfortable bed to sleep on.  He picked up a large branch and stuck it into his inventory.  He and Velnia could fight a few monsters before nightfall and then stargaze before hitting the hay.  He smiled.  It was going to be great.  His smile widened when he saw another rare ore a little ways away and walked over to it.  He picked it up and gazed at it fondly.  'That's 9'.

Once he had the ore Itzal decided that they had enough firewood.  He whistled for Velnia and began walking back to their planned campsite.  When she landed on his arm he noted that she caught several rabbits for dinner.

"I'm no cook so you'll have to do it." he said as he placed them in his inventory.  She grinned at him.  When they made it back Itzal put all the wood in a pile directly beside the stone wall.  He had also collected normal rocks to make a ring around the fire so that it didn't spread across all the grass.  He placed the stones in a ring while Velnia picked up a couple sticks.

As he finished taking care of the stones he heard a thump behind him.  He turned and saw that another ore had spawned on the mountainside and fell to the ground.  He smiled and walked over, picking it up and storing it in his inventory.  'That's 10' he thought.  Itzal stood up and looked at Velnia.

"Why don't we take a walk?" he suggested.  "We could train a bit before making dinner."  Velnia nodded and flew over to his shoulder.  Itzal began walking and decided to walk up to the ledge on the other mountain so they'd have a good view.

Itzal took his time going up the steep path to the cliff, pacing himself and making sure he didn't exert himself too much.  As he reached the top he drew in a deep breath as he took in the scene.  The lake, the overhang, the woods by the side, and the clearing that acted as the entrance to this beautiful area.  After he took it all in he used his imagination to place the house under the overhang with a small dock by the lake.  He also looked over at where the cave was and was satisfied that it wasn't visible.  This was perfect.  Whether he got a shop, a house, or he and his friends built a guild hall and placed it in this area.  It was the perfect place to live.
