[PP-Nk-F1] Honey Revenge (Endilix)

Recommended Posts

Daylight couldn't dawn any faster, the birds couldn't sing any louder. Flints was tired of being in the dark. She was tired of waiting for something to happen. She wondered aimlessly through the forest, skirting in and out of the foliage only to insure she was still on a path against the lake near by. Occasionally she noticed others in the forest, either fighting, gathering, or just plain lost in the wilderness. But they never noticed her as she leaped from tree to tree. Occasionally stopping to watch the large shadow that was Antillian, pooling from bushes beneath her. They were in sync to say the least. Her eyes darted to the lake where she noticed it was closest to the trees, slowly she lowered herself and listened closely to her surroundings. Silence. She was as far away from anyone as she could get. A quick click of the tongue sent Antillian running into the forest then back to her side after a few minutes of  searching. They truly were alone. Slowly she un equipped her armor and replaced it with her starter clothing, slowly wadding into the water and enjoying the cool rush of liquid at her feet. Relaxing wasn't something she did often. But maybe she could try just this once.

Metal rang through the hillside as steel met steel. Endilix stood with his arms crossed, watching over a couple of teen-aged boys as they dueled in the open hillside. Repeatedly they would clash, sword against sword, and occasionally one would get a blow in. When the fighting got rough, Endilix would step between them and stop the fighting, and allow the boys time to rest and recuperate. This process would go on throughout the day. Occasionally other players would ask to join, and even more rarely one would ask to duel the crimson haired tank himself. All things considered it was a fun day, and one Endilix looked forward to as he was called upon by the players of Floor One to train. As time had passed, it had felt less like a chore, and more like an enjoyable event, and one which made Endilix smile more and more each time.

The two latest boys were level five each, and both wielded one handed swords. They reminded Endilix of Razum-dar, and his mind couldn't help but wander a bit, thinking of the fellow crimson haired boy who had adventured with Endilix in the past. "I wonder what he's doing these days...?" Endilix found himself mumbling, until one of the boys broke his daydream with a loud cry. Endilix blinked and brought himself back to the present as he looked to one of the boys on the ground, holding a gash in his stomach, and Endilix watched as his HP dropped. The other boy seemed to go in for the kill, and Endilix put a hand out to stop him, and he backed off. "Franklin," Endilix started, offering a hand to the boy, who looked ready to begin shedding tears, "you know as well as I do that it doesn't hurt. C'mon, let's go sit down for a moment and rest." The boy grabbed Endilix by the hand, and Endilix hoisted the boy to his feet. With a smile, he began to walk over to a nearby tree, where he had set up a backpack and some blankets. "I think lunch would do us some good, eh boys?" They both cheered and nodded, running and tearing into the backpack before Endilix had even had the chance to take a few more steps. Endilix simply laughed, and looked out towards the horizon, scanning the area for other players and monsters while the kids settled in for lunch.

Flints sighed as she began to let herself relax into the waters, calm and cold against the warmth of the sun was just what she needed, maybe she would be relaxed enough to rest. She didn't bother to get her hopes up but instead waded deeper into the waters and daring to dive beneath its surface. The last thing she heard was a howl from Antillian, warning of others before she dove in.

The murky waters started off shallow as she swam quickly away from where she started, she could feel her lungs began to shudder until she slowly started to release air, puffing her cheeks to circulate the old air, forcing it back into her lungs before expelling another small amount of air. She remembered this process from outside of the game all too well. It gave her a few extra seconds before she would have to spring herself from the depths, for air. She swam aimlessly until her belly began to scrape against the muddy bottom and pushed herself out of the water and noticed she was quite a ways away from where she had started. She paddled and rose from the waters, soaking wet and clicked her tongue for Antillian, who had seemed to follow her to the other side anyways. "Did yah miss me? I didn't find nessi, sorry pal." Flints grinned as she shook her hair, combing her fingers from the deep brown roots down to its warm gold ends, only stopping when her bangs fell into place. Her greens eyes scanned the forest In front of her, she could hear noses in the distance, but it wasn't coming from the forest. It was loud and obnoxious. She snorted and shot herself into the trees again as she made her way to the outskirts of the forest to investigate the sounds.

It didn't take long for her to reach edge and take note of the hillside near town. She watched as players seemed to gallantly swing at each other, like it was a game to them. She huffed and wondered if they could really do such a thing. If they were strong enough to swing a weapon at a comrade in such a cheerful manner, or was this all show? Who would be impressed by this? Her eyes rested on the group, she was unable to make them out and wasn't planning on greeting them. But they had caught her attention, if only for a second. She watched one seem to keel over and the other almost finish them off, her heart skipped as her blood began to flood her ears, the rush took her breath as she licked her lips only to be disappointed when another ended the quarrel. "Idiots." She spat.

Endilix stood on edge, the hair bristling on the back of his neck. He felt as if they were being watched, and even on the first floor, outside of the city, that could prove troublesome. Endilix patted his hand on his hammer, looking back to the boys who were eating happily. Endilix smiled, before saying, "Stay close to the tree, okay?" The two boys looked up at Endilix a bit confused, but nodded all the same. Endilix nodded back, before walking out a bit more into the field. Emerath would be useful here. He did always have the ability to see things nobody else could, Endilix thought to himself as he crossed his arms across his chest and continued to scan the field.

Endilix was at a crossroads. He wanted to find the person he felt like was watching them, but he couldn't leave the kids behind. He looked around, before scratching the back of his neck, Probably nothing anyway. I've been so on edge since... Endilix shook his head and turned back to the tree. Endilix heard the grass shift beneath his feet as he made his way back to the makeshift picnic. As he reached the backpack with food in it, Endilix pulled out a sandwich and leaned his back against the tree. He carefully unwrapped the sandwich and bit into it, savoring the flavor as he looked out towards the late afternoon sun. Today is almost done. Worst case, we'll just head back into town if someone is looking to pick a fight.

Flints' eyes stayed fixed on the party, they were small, probably all low levels. She shifted her weight on her feet slightly and leaned more to see if she could get a better look, suddenly one of them fumbled at his waist, flints gave a low growl and shot through the branches of the trees along the border of the hills to get a better look at them. The closer she got she realized they were young and probably frail. She grinned and wondered if she should give them a fright. Or maybe show them what it's like to spar with a real challenge. She gazed back at the shadow that followed her. "Or should I say "real front liner"". Flints scoffed. "Nah, that wasn't my style." Carefully she picked out trees to get her behind the bunch to watch them. She wondered if maybe she was really this bored, or this intrigued by the only people in her vicinity. She noticed a red headed man now that she was behind them. He seemed to guard the teens with a watchful eye. "How strange..does he not think they can care for themselves..?"

Flints backed away slightly, deciding maybe they weren't worth her time. Why harass children? Or even worse, male "teenagers" she groaned but when the red headed man spoke she got goosebumps. He definitely sounded familiar.
