Erroneous 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #21 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Wheres the sheets going to be posted? In players profiles or in a forum for character posts?
Guest Posted February 2, 2013 #22 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Forum for character posts =D? Unless you can get it to appear under your username -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Erroneous 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #23 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Unless you can get it to appear under your username Some or all data can be shown under a persons avatar, but it be difficult to read when you have a novel under a persons avatar in some aspects i.e. background story, descriptions, appearances, history, etc... lengthy posts. But small bits like skills, specialization, levels, gender, guild, party, etc.. are doable.

But small bits like skills, specialization, levels, gender, guild, party, etc.. are doable. Totally forgot about that part lol. I think to keep it simple, if all are in favor of posting it on a forum rather then kept in character profile, speak up or forever hold your tongue. lol
Namine 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #25 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I like the idea of some stats being displayed under the person's avatar on the forums actually. If they want the full details of the character they can go to the user's profile or the forum if we decide to set it up that way.
Crim 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #26 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I agree with Namine, however this will only be really usable if some people are going to use one character with there account. Some people might want to have more then one character so it will make it hard to display both character data's. Don't get me wrong, i love the idea and will probably use it myself ^^
Erroneous 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #27 Share Posted February 2, 2013 The character sheets, should they be confided to 1 topic per person or 1 topic for each character? i.e. A person who has 4 characters, posts them as separate posts in 1 topic. A person who has 4 characters, posts them in individual topics. Reason I bring this up is because I'm all for separate posts in 1 topic to help manage which players a person will be playing. But also I can re-purpose the PHPBB3's "Website" profile option to link to a persons character sheet topic showing off all their characters.
Crim 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #28 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I think individual topics as i kinda want to see this linking using the profile option. Also it we can make it so that we can post and say (character updated, added this and this and also level up)
Erroneous 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #29 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I think individual topics as i kinda want to see this linking using the profile option. You got it backwards. It'll have to be one topic with multiple characters posted as replies. Check out the profile edit page to see what I mean. ucp.php?i=profile&mode=profile_info
Crim 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #30 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Ahh, i see, well that is pretty cool and also love the Hard Core Mode. Nice little addition
Namine 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #31 Share Posted February 2, 2013 One topic per person is the best way to do it IMO. It'll cut down on clutter on the forums.
Nevina 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #32 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I think it should be one topic per character because a lot of info can potentially go in there Like I plan on keeping a post with notes on who I've met and what my character thought of them. Ori don't know :/
Sieg 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #33 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Just asking for a bit of clarification because there was a lot to read through in here, the one thread per person would this be done in a specific format or like a journal?
Mythee 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #34 Share Posted February 2, 2013 One thing I love about character journal threads like what Nevi's talking about is the level of creativity I see people putting into setting theirs up with colored text and formats and stuff! Often, what RP guilds do is provide a format for profiles and journal threads, but they don't force anyone to use it. What they often do ask for, however, are minimal requirements of information that should be included in the thread.
Nevina 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #35 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Not a journal exactly since we have solo rps t hat can be done in place of "diary" entries, just a spot for the user to do whatever they want with. The first post would be the required character profile, and after that it's up to them. I wanted to do a summary of events that happen to my character and stuff too. But maybe it doesn't matter, and users can choose either one per chara or multiple charas in one thread if they plan on only using it to post the profile and nothing else. Sieg 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #36 Share Posted February 2, 2013 So basically it is like a journal, not a diary, but a log of events that happened in regards to that specific character(s)?
Nevina 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #37 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Yeah, just whatever the individual wants to do with it in relation to their character. The profile part would be required, everything else would be optional.
Guest Posted February 2, 2013 #38 Share Posted February 2, 2013 One topic per character.
Nevina 0 Posted February 2, 2013 #39 Share Posted February 2, 2013 Another angle to look at it is it'd act like a character reference guide as sometimes people may refer to characters and not the player so having multiple characters I'm one thread might make them harder to find unless it fits in the title or you figure out who the player is
Crim 0 Posted February 3, 2013 #40 Share Posted February 3, 2013 One Topic per Account i think, each post will contain a character sheet and there they can simply edit there post to show character advancement. Dont have to post that (Today i soloed floor 5 boss) but it could be added to your character sheet. If you plan on posting each individual thing that happens or even the major things, your character sheet will still have to be found after X amount of posts. Also i have to agree one topic per character could get crowded way to fast and if people post updates, before you know it, it has become another spam area.. just saying
