[PP-F1] Assignment 2..... Camping! <Itzal and Mossino> Completed

Recommended Posts

After they departed from Jonathan they had decided to call it a day.  They had been training and he could tell Alisa was drained.  Luckily he had the perfect plan for training her now.  He had to make it fun.  He'd start with helping her become more confident in non combat situations and to do that he'd go camping with her.  As they went about the activities he'd give her things to do that would force her to search for items such as firewood, food, etc.  When she did so Itzal would keep a close eye on her in the trees.  She'd think she would be alone but in truth he would be watching out for her.  The forest wasn't as scary as most believed it to be and Itzal had personally experienced that.  Especially at night.  There was an overhang near some cliffs where he had camped last time.  That's where they were heading right now.

Itzal had made sure to pack some food just in case they couldn't find any and he also brought a large cloth to keep the wind off of them when they slept.  He tried finding two but he failed completely.  He shrugged at the thought.  He could always tear it in two.  He had several stages for today.  First they would gather plenty of wood for the tonight's fire.  While Alisa gathered it she would also be instructed to gather any important items that were not food.  After she gathered the wood they would both go out and collect anything edible.  Itzal decided to join her on this one because he really wanted to add more to his nightly supper tonight.  After that they would set up camp.  Once that was done he'd lead her to the top of the cliff where they'd lie on the tall soft grass and talk about their plans until the stars came out.  After stargazing they'd head to bed and sleep till morning.  Once morning they'd gather breakfast, use the last of the firewood, and head home after breakfast.  He smiled at Alisa.  This was going to go perfectly.

Alisa wondered what Itzal-senpai had in store for her. She had never been camping before and she really wondered what the purpose of it was right now. What was in that mind of his? Perhaps fighting at night or was it going to be an endurance test? Both of those she knew she would suck at. But, it didn’t matter. Itzal was going to be there and he wouldn’t let her get harmed.

Alisa looked at Itzal curiously, walking behind him to some location. She yawned lightly. It was getting late and she was tired. She normally went to bed in the A.M’s but after this exercise and working she was a bit tuckered out. “So, senpai, what are we going to be doing?” she asks in her soft, lightly accented voice. She really wanted to know, and Itzal hadn’t given her much information. “I really hope its not more bears…”

Itzal smiled to her as she asked where they were going.

"There's a cliff with an overhang not far from here.  Once we're there we'll drop our supplies and go search for wood for the fire tonight.  We do want to eat don't we?"  He grinned at her.  He knew she wanted to become a cook so he'd probably rely on her natural skills as he would probably end up poisoning it by accident.  When he heard her soft comment he laughed.  "And no bears.  Don't worry this is not a trip where we'll be fighting ok?  You're good."  As they approached the area Itzal was pleased that nothing had changed.  If it ended up raining the water wouldn't hit them and roll down the hill into the forest below.  He set down the cloth sheet and the bag of emergency food and turned to her.  "Alright let's split up and search for some wood!  While we're at it I've got an assignment for you:  While looking for wood try to find something useful besides edible items."

OOC- With each post she'll find wood whether the dice say she found something or not.  The roll is for material to keep  ;)

A semi-survival test is what he had in store for them. Okay, she could get behind that. Wood was everywhere and is extremely easy to find! And then edible berries...that...that might take a bit. She doesn't know which type of berries are good and what type are bad in real life. In the game it might be even more difficult.

"Okay! I got it senpai! I can do this!...I think..." she mutters the last part quietly to herself, sighing lightly. She can prove her usefulness here, if she cant' fight yet, she can at least finds goodies like wood. Moving out into the forest, she would start trying to find materials, wood, and berries. Once she got under the canopy of trees, she looked around for twigs and sticks on the ground. It took her a second, but she found some lying under a small, dead tree. Not a lot of wood, but some. While she is there she peers around for anything that could be for materials. But, she doesn't spend long looking for materials and finds nothing of value. On top of that, no berries. She shook her head, "I have to find some berries..." She moved on, continuing her search.

Itzal waited for her to make her way into the forest before he took to the trees.  Silently he leaped through the branches, easily keeping up with her calm and easy pace.  When she leaned over to pick up a branch he scanned the area for something himself.  He smiled when he spotted a large beautiful flower and picked it, placing it in his inventory.  As she moved onwards he followed her.  As he scanned for suitable materials, he also kept an eye out for any animal that might mean harm to a low level player.  He noticed a wolf making it's way over to Alisa, sticking to the shadows.  As it peered out the edge of the bushes Itzal drew Retributor silently and used the sun's reflection to get the wolf's attention.  When it saw her it recognized him as the player who completely destroyed their warg leader and showed fear instantly.  Itzal nodded to make sure the wolf knew that the girl was with her and it nodded back before turning tail and running through the brush.

OOC- If you roll higher than ten you spotted the wolf running away.  If you roll higher than fifteen you spotted it when it was peering at you before running.  If lower than ten you simply heard the leaves moving as it ran

Alisa was just minding her business, picking up some more sticks when she thought she heard something. Looking up, she sees a wolf looking at her. They lock eyes for a second and she instantly cowers away a bit. She couldn't fight a wolf, not here and alone. But, suddenly, it looks up into the trees, it cowers, and then runs off.

Alisa looks onward as it runs away, wide-eyed and dumbfounded. Why did it run away? What scared it off? She knew she wasn't scary, what had happened. Rising, she looked around in the trees, looking for someone or something. But, she found nothing of interest.

"What a weird animal..." she says, loud enough for Itzal to hear. Afterwards, she leans down, seeing some plants. They were herbs and a material. Smiling, she picks them up, them turning into material in her inventory.

Looking around herself, she sees a few bushes further off, perhaps they were berry bushes. She nods and moves off walking towards them.

Smiling as the wolf ran he heard Alisa make a comment and snickered.  "If you only knew the trouble they've caused me," he muttered to himself.  He continued to follow her unseen or heard.  As he jumped to the next branch he sheathed his blade.  When she believed it time to return to the camp is when he'd reveal himself.  The reason he'd reveal herself was to show her how useful parkour could be to a scout.  Once he did that they could begin planning how they would train towards that as they gathered food.  For now however his mission was to look after Alisa while looking for things he could use himself.

Walking over to the bushes, she sees some white berries. She had never heard of white berries, but, hey, they may be good to eat? She shrugs, and starts to pick some. After picking one or two the rest of the berries on the bush disappear and she gets, "1x White Berries, " added to her inventory. She smiles and nods. "Just a bit more wood now." she states to herself, looking around. She walks over to the bottom of a group of trees, and picks up a few more sticks, rather large ones. "This is enough I believe."

After that, she takes one last peer around to see if there are any more materials lying around. After looking for a few minutes, she finds nothing and sighs. At least one material right? She smiles to herself and starts the trek back to the top of the hill where camp was sat up. Hopefully she got enough to finish the training like Itzal had hopped...she refused to fail this one.

Itzal saw her heading back and thought for a moment, eventually deciding he wouldn't reveal his interfering.  She had to think she had done this on her own.  Confidence was everything.  He made his way swiftly over to the campsite's edge on the other side and jumped softly to the ground.  He waited until she came through the clearing and pulled out the wood he had collected, carrying the bundle into the camp.  When he looked at her he smiled.

"Did you find any?"  When she showed what she found his smile widened and he smacked his forehead.  "Storing it in your inventory.  Why didn't I think of that?"  He let his bundle fall where their fire would be and she did the same.  He sighed.  "Ok so we need to gather some food for the meal," but stopped when she showed the berries.  He grinned.  "I know you haven't got the profession yet, but are you good at cooking?"

She smiled listening to him talk, and even giggled when he smacked his own forehead. She put down the wood she had gotten and showed him the berries. Everything was fine until he asked if she could cook. I mean, she could cook pancakes and stuff, but she was told to stop when she made pancakes at 4 A.M. because she was watching anime and wanted a sweet snack. Ah, that was a lovely day. She smiled in her recollection for a minute before coming back to earth.

"Cooking? Erm, I can a bit in real life but in the game its stat based...not sure if I can..." she mumbles. "I mean, I can try." she states, with light confidence. She smiles up at his face. She is ready to give it a shot, but it is his fault if they eat burnt poisonous berries for dinner.

Itzal grinned at her.

"I'm pretty sure it's easier to cook in the game than it is in real life."  Not that it helps me in any freaking way He mumbled.  He pulled out the bag opened it, revealing it's contents to Alisa.  After that he walked over to the fireplace and began building the fire.  He had only actually done this once before, when Velnia was here.  Now he was doing it alone.  Once again he missed Velnia, but soon he planned to head out and find her again.  He'd find the cave she hid in before and tame her once again.  He couldn't wait to see her.  He was excited in fact.  Yet he had a feeling that something would be different about her when they reunited.  He shrugged the thought away, returning to the present.  "So Alisa tell me.  You really want to be a scout and damage dealer right?"  If she said yes his next plan would be effective.

Alisa gave him a smile and nodded, "You're right! It probably is easier...hey when we get back to town can you help me start my profession?" she asks him with a hopeful tick in her voice. She was honestly excited to start cooking. It opened a lot of possibilities to herself. She could cook for the guild and front liners to give them boosts. She could run her own restaurant, or she could just bake herself sweets for when she is out to enjoy. She grinned to herself lightly. She would do that last one no matter what. Smiling, she nodded, and then was pulled back to reality by Itzal's question. It confused her because she already stated that was what she wanted to do. "Yeah! That is exactly what I wanted to do." She wondered what he had in store for them after, since he was asking such an odd question.

When she made her request to him he smiled.

"I'd love to help you with that!  It would help you too.  By choosing to be a scout we need to work on focusing on what we need, while scanning in a wide radius as well."  When she confirmed his question he nodded with a grin.  "There's something I've learned that I think proves useful when sneaking or scouting."  His grin widened.  "Parkour.  If you don't know what it is or haven't seen assassin's creed it's basically climbing, leaping and any means of traveling in a more undetectable or faster way to travel.  In a forest you travel by branches higher than a player normally looks.  In a city you travel by leaping across roofs, crossing beams, archs, etc.  If you want I can teach you, though it means we're going to have to add exercises into the daily routine.  And I don't mean your weak, but you have to get stronger for it."

Parkour? She had heard of it, but had not really seen it out ever in the real world. Though, from how he described it, it sounded like a quite fast way of travel. She nodded along, listening to the rest of his words. After he finished she gave him a light, childish smile. She liked the idea but...she wasn't a fan of exercise, not one bit. She knew she wasn't one for exercise but, hey, at least it is a game, and probably has no actual wear on her physically.

"Okay! Sure! I'd love to learn that, it sounds fun!" she states, excitedly again. She was excited to learn new things, and she was also excited to attempt to cook soon. She could, and would become the best cook in the game. Just like that anime she had watched before. What was it called...Food Wars? Eh, she couldn't remember, but it would be something like that.

Itzal smiled when she agreed to it.  She seemed hesitant at first but that was expected when one was asked to exercise.  "Good!  We can talk about how many push ups, pull ups, sit ups, and running laps you should do.  I'll probably have you do as many as you can of each so I can get a feel of what level you're at.  Just know, you won't master it quickly.  It's going to take time, a lot of time, to practice.  You also need to remove a fear of heights if you have one.  If you manage that, I assure you that climbing a tall tower to the top and just standing there enjoying the view is incredible."  He sighed as he recalled the memory of climbing that tower in the Italian town on floor eleven.  He couldn't wait until he reached a level safe enough to visit there often.  In fact he hoped that Alisa would be skilled in parkour by then.  He legitimately felt he was in assassin's creed with both his outfit and parkouring.  Outfit!

"Oh another thing.  When we go to make your armor, if you really want to be a scout, I suggest choosing an outfit similar to mine in the sense that it will blend in with it's surroundings.  This one is meant for darkness only, but I intend to have a secondary one colored white, cream and sandish color for snowy areas, deserts and such.  If you want I can help you with the design of the outfit."

OOC- I usually use this board to take pieces of different outfits and put them together, or rarely take the entire thing and use that.  You don't have to use anything, it was just something I used for inspiration :)    https://www.pinterest.com/Telemindred/random-rpg-character-ideas/

Alisa stood there listening to him. Aye, it would take all the things she didn't like. All forms of exercising. She didn't really fully like the idea until outfit. She gets to help design an assassin like outfit that suits her needs? The made her smile. She never thought about being a tailor, but, helping make clothes doesn't seem bad. So this was a mix of like rogue-ish from DnD and fast moving scout. Huh, she can work with that. Perhaps she will need to find someone to hone her damage-dealer aspirations at some point.

Besides of that, she game him another small smile. "Okay! That sounds great..." she states, before yawning heavily. It was getting late and she had had a long day. "Let's get to cooking shall we?" she asks, looking into the sack he gave her, seeing what she has to work with.

Itzal nodded.  Not only was he hungry but they could worry about seeing a tailor later.  There was no need to rush.  She just had to find something suitable to her needs and tastes.  He was sure that with her young creativity she wouldn't have a problem.  He sat down on a nearby log, wondering what she would cook.  As he thought about this his stomach growled in protest at it's torment and decided to think about something else.  Two stealthy scouts.  One with a heavy ish straight sword and one with a rapier.  They would be an interesting pair and he hoped that once their training was over she would still want to work with him.

Opening the sack he gave her, she pulls out some raw meat, a pan, some assorted herbs, looks like the ones they got the other day actually... Shrugging, she pulls the items out. She inspects the berries, wondering if they are poisonous. Uh...she won't actually use them, she isn't too keen on them. They might kill them in the end. Taking the pan she puts the raw meat on the pan and then the herbs. She realized she had no idea how to cook. "Uh...I'm......I'm not sure how well this will turn out..." she states, continuing to just kind of, move the raw meat around.

After a few seconds, a UI would pop up, with a list,

"Cooking Skill: 0
Ingredient Quality: Decent
Tool Quality: Bad
Product Quality: Poor
"

Suddenly, the meat in the pan would stop cooking, and be cut into two pieces, nothing special, it smelled...okay, and just looked standard.

"O-Oh."

Itzal watched with curiosity and looked at the cooked meat.  It didn't look very good but like Itzal always said, looks can be deceiving.  He patted Alisa on the back.

"Hey look at that!  Your first cooked meal in Aincrad!"  He took a whiff.  "Definitely ten times better than I could ever do."  They both split the meat and found that although it wasn't exactly delicious, it was still much better than the normal bread they had.  After the meal Itzal sighed.  Normally people would sing campfire songs but not only did he dislike those types of songs but he didn't have an instrument yet.  Wait.  He did.  His voice, duh.  He smiled.

"I can sing a song or two before we stargaze if you'd like," he said.  "Do you have a specific song in mind or just a type of song?"
