Randomly Generated Quests

What are randomly generated quests?

In character, randomly generated quests, or RGQ's, are quests made for the players by the cardinal. The cardinal is always making new quests so that players can effectively grind through the floors, however, not all quests are easy and can be quite challenging. No RGQ is the same and there are vast adventures to be had and challenges to be met.

Out of Character, these are quests you make up for your character and friends, and give us a standard by which we can award them additional SP. In this way, lower level players can more quickly catch up to the average level for our progress through the tower.

How do they work?

Players are given the opportunity to grind for SP by completing RGQ's, these RGQ's will not replace the out-put of other quests, but rather to supplement the demand for experience. Each RGQ upon completion will grant a certain amount of SP based on the difficulty of the quest. All adventures and details are for the players to decide, as long as they follow the guidelines. If they do not meet the guidelines and requirements, then they will not receive their reward until it is, and locked by a staff member.

How to create an RGQ.

First you will want an adventure in mind. Think about a goal, and how you will achieve that, your "quest" so to speak. If you've got something that you think would work out as a good quest then you may post in this quest section stating that you are going to take an RGQ. When posting that you are taking an RGQ you must state:

  1. The floor
  • This will be decided based on the highest level player in the thread.
  • If there are currently no floors based on that level, you may not take a RGQ (players that are over leveled cannot help lower levels complete their RGQs under any circumstances (eg. not accepting rewards) )
    2. The difficulty
  • This will decide how hard your quest will be and how much you will be rewarded.
  • There are three difficulties: E= Easy, M= Medium, H= Hard.
  • Easy will grant 1 bonus sp, Medium will grant 2 bonus sp, and Hard will grant 3 bonus sp
    3. Your levels
  • You must state your current level and the levels of those who are going on the quest with you.
  • The level range, requirements, etc... are based on the highest level player in the thread
    4. A link to your rp
  • Once you have posted that you will be partaking on a RGQ, you must link your thread to your post after it is created. This is so that it is easier to keep track of all of the quests.
    5. A one or two sentence summary of the objective
  • such as "Defeat 10 Giant spiders, or "Escort the merchant safely from Taft to ____," or "Gather 10 Fox pelts" or "Save the person in distress!"

The level required to partake on RGQ's goes as followed:

Easy Quests
All easy quests must have a post count of at least at least 8 per character (must still meet 20 post thread minimum). Easy quests can be various and meet many criteria for completion. An easy quest must follow any one of these criteria.

-Killing mobs (based on floor level). The number of mobs is equal to the number of players *3. These fights may be broken up along the rp.
-Gathering materials (not from mob drops). The number of materials required is 1 + floor level divided by 5 rounded down. You may only search for materials once per post. These materials can be anything so be creative in why you need to search for it!
-Using sneak and hide successfully on 3 occasions.

Medium Quests
All medium quests must have a post count of at least least 15 per character (must still me 20 post thread minimum). Medium quests can be various and meet stricter criteria for completion. A medium quest must follow any one of these criteria.

-Killing mobs. The players must fight 2 strong mobs at least 3 'floor levels' above their highest level player, and 4 weaker mobs equal to the level of their lowest level player. These fights may be broken out along the rp. "Floor level above highest player" means that if the highest level player is 15, you might fight mobs that would be found on floor 18. See the bottom of this post for more info.
-Gathering materials. The number of materials required is 1 + floor level divided by 5 rounded down. You may only search for materials once per post. You must also receive a non-material drop from killing 1 mob, that mob must be equal in strength to the floors level.
-Using sneak and hide successfully on 6 occasions. Or, using sneak and hide successfully on 3 occasions and defeating enemies based on the amount of players in the thread * 3 whose level are equal to the floors level.

Hard Quests
All hard quests must have a post count of at least 60. Hard quests can be various but meet a strict criteria for completion. A hard quest must follow any one of these criteria.

-Killing mobs. The players must fight 4 strong mobs at least 5 'floor levels' above their highest level player, and 8 weaker mobs equal to the level of their lowest level player. These fights may be broken out along the rp. Floor level above highest player" means that if the highest level player is 15, you might fight mobs that would be found on floor 18. See the bottom of this post for more info.
-Gathering materials. The number of materials required is 1 + floor level divided by 5 rounded down. You may only search for materials once per post. You must also receive 4 non-material drops from killing mobs.
-Using sneak and hide successfully on 6 occasions. Or, using sneak and hide successfully on 3 occasions and defeating enemies based on the amount of players in the thread * 3 whose level are equal to the floors level. You must also be successful in looting 1 chest and disarming 2. Additionally you may only be unsuccessful in sneak and hide on 1 occasion.

Some Quest ideas:
-Escort
-Defence
-Fetch quests
-Search and destroy
-Infiltration/intelligence
-etc

More unique quest typings will be released in future. If you have any suggestions feel free to message myself or other staff.

Note: The cardinal will never give you a sexual quest or a quest involving the harm of other players.
