In-Game Alias: Esper

IRL Name: Moqi Nanako

Age: 17

Height: 5'4"

Gender: Female

     ABOUT/HISTORY

As a child, Moqi was raised in a prosperous and happy family, pampered as the first child of her loving parents. Born into this wealth, there wasn't much of anything she looked at with negativity, even if the looks she received in return were bitter and spiteful.

Childhood was nothing short of joyous for Moqi, up until the age of 12, when her father died. A car accident, she was told. Being at a younger age, it took a little while to fully realize what had happened, and before she had managed to accept the tragedy and move on, her mother commuted suicide. This struck Moqi harder than a knife. Her father was often absent, but still supportive, but her mother was always there to nurture and care for her. And overcome with grief and misery, Moqi was abandoned. Since none of her relatives would take her in, she was moved on to a homeless shelter.

Here, she lived for three years, in an environment completely opposite of which she was raised in. She was often insulted and teased, merely for being under the name she was, and in effect became the outcast. Except, there came a fateful day that would sway her misery into content.

This day came when a man of his later years had agreed to adopt her, and through reluctant acceptance, Moqi also agreed to go with him. His name was Sado Muto, and he was an accountant at a high-up agency. This profession he had would spark Moqi's interest in technology, and what exactly it could do.

Two years after this, Moqi was 17 years old, and proficient in topics of many sorts, among them being web design, which brought a desirable income, and gaming. When she could, she was always head first into whatever she found interesting, with the latest device being the NerveGear. Christmas, however, was already amidst, and by recommendation, Moqi's caretaker had bought her a set, clad with a game, titled "Sword Art Online"

     VIRTUES

Perception: Inherited from her birth mother, Esper has a keen sense for anything unusual. Unease in a teammate, a possible trap on the battlefield, or predicting an enemy are examples of what this gift allows. Additionally, her perception can lead to information, in which she can utilize to persuade, influence, or even blackmail.

Strong Willed: If there's a will, there's a way. If Esper gives her word, then it's a promise as solid as titanium, and little to nothing can break her determination. To allies, this virtue is a protective aura, and to enemies, it's a death sentence.

Open Minded: Esper paces herself while assessing situations, allowing thought process to evaluate the right approach. Being open-minded also allows her to understand, or consider words or actions made by another, even amidst possible doubt. Using this perk alongside her perceptive nature, in just little time, Esper can harvest more information than most might find possible.

Other Virtues: Collected, Honest, Caring, Generous, Optimistic

     FLAWS

Reckless: On many occasions, and for various reasons, Esper can be extremely reckless. This sprouts from her determination to keep her promises, and protect her friends, and in some cases, she can be put into a blind rage, which causes her to forget the importance of staying alive, and focus on destroying what seeks to take it. Should there be a case where she is bereaving the loss of a friend, reckless behavior will be at its peak, as her sorrow and anger are drastically heightened in this state.

Blunt: Due to her past, Esper finds a hard time expressing certain emotions, especially when those emotions have to come out in words. She's terribly humorless, finding sarcasm and mere jokes hard to understand, this in affect making her personality during conversation seem quite bland. And when a delicate conversation is preferred, Esper is analytic and straightforward, seeing as sugar coating is a metaphor she doesn't recognize. (Yes, metaphors will almost always fly over her head.)

Impatient: Even on minor circumstances, being quick and efficient is important to Esper. Due to this, she can often be a bother to people or herself during long term situations, i.e long treks, awaiting an enemies' move, or even waiting for food to cook. However easy to distract, and less easy to talk out of things, Esper's impatience can become a major issue, depending on scenario.

Other Flaws: Humorless, Distant, Untrustful, Semi-Temperamental

     STORY THUS FAR

Since the start of the game, Esper has been thinking nonstop. Her mind has effectively been crammed full of worries, concerns, suspicions, and considerations of varying sorts, and each with their individual ties. She's met a few people she could easily consider friends in the making, and she even plans to join their guild soon! And thus, among the people she's chosen to stick with, and protect with her own life, as they do in return, Esper is on the right path to surviving this death game, and a little more! She's been convinced that it's not about surviving, and it never was. It's about living.
