Kane watched as Rynn's blade clanked off of the fiery beast's thick hide. Backing up, Kane drank his <>. Gulping down the tasteless white liquid, Kane soon felt a pale red aura surround him. Discarding the bottle, he watched as the flames that still plagued his clothing went out. Taking up his sword with both hands, Kane leapt high and stabbed downward, aiming for the creature's face.

His blade struck true, sinking into the fleshy part of the Ifrit's face, becoming jammed into the bony plate under its eye, doing a critical amount of damage.

The Ifrit roared in a volcanic rage, tossing its head from side to side as it spewed flames, illuminating the cavern in its fury. Rearing its head back, it shook Kane free, but the sword was still jammed in its face. Ripping it out, the hellish creature screamed a guttural war cry, then hurled the <> at Rynn, hoping to bisect her!

Fortunately for Rynn, the blade hurtled through the air, but its mass and shape were not terribly aerodynamic, causing the blade to hit her handle first, bouncing off of her breastplate and doing no damage.

"Hey! Keep hold of your sword" Shouted Rynn, as though her 'sage like' wisdom wasn't blatantly obvious. "Isn't that the first thing they teach you in a fight"

As the Ifrit Made another swing at her, Rynn ducked low and rolled to avoid the blow. As she did so, she snatched up a large stone, roughly half again as large as her hand and roughly spherical. In an instant, she was back on her feet, tucking the stone to her shoulder and then letting it fly. Not as good as a shot put She thought as the stone flew through the air towards the Ifrits face But it'll have to do

Rynns aim was true and square. But the Ifrit turned towards her and caught her projectile in its teeth, letting a low, rumbling snarl out as it crushed the rock between its jaws.

Kane sprinted as fast as the system would allow him to, snatching his blade from the ground where it had landed point first. "Sorry! How was I to know his face was so hard!?" Coming up on the Ifrit's left side while it was busy dealing with Rynn's tossed stone, his sword began to glow a bright sky blue. <> activated as he sped forward blade first, attempting to hamstring the beast.

The strike worked like a charm, the zweihander slicing into the creature's tendon by its ankle, dropping it to one knee. Activating the skill's combo ability, Kane immediately managed to turn and slash again, becoming a blur of cerulean light as the infernal creature's HP dropped.

The Ifrit's mobility was severely weakened by its injury at the hands of the <>, and it roared in piqued fury. Its health was down below half now, and it was beginning to change behavior. Breathing deeply, it began to charge its flames again. Targeting both Kane and Rynn, it unleashed what could only be described as a wave of fire, attempting to ignite the pair.

----------------------------------

Somehow, against all odds, both Rynn and Kane managed to get behind a protruding rock in the middle of the cavern. The flames licked the ground around them, and the air was thick and searing. Finally, the flames ceased as the creature's attack was expended.

Ifrit: 8/18

Rynn: 9/9
