(SP-F1) Starting in the City

Recommended Posts

As Blue opened his eyes he looked around. A burst of different shade of blue met his eyes, and he sat up in his bed. Beside him were Calculus books that he had been told to study but he did not mind that. He took a small short breath before swinging his legs across the bed. He quickly got dressed, a nice blue shirt and some blue shorts, to make his mother happy. He was quite excited himself. This day, Sword Art Online would officially be released. In about an Hour. He smiled to himself as he turned the corner. Perhaps If I am really good, Mother will let me explore a bit! He entered the kitchen to see his mother's smiling face as she made him breakfast. She was a shorter woman, 5'2 with long thick black hair,  purple eyes, blue attire and a dark red pair of glasses. He looked up to his mother and said, "Morning Mother. Ready for an exciting day?" His mother looked down at him sternly, as she put bacon on his plate to finish his eggs and toast. Son, we are not going anywhere until you eat your breakfast. Blue smiled and grabbed his plate, making a sandwich with his toast and eggs. Gulping it down he looked outside. He lived in a manor, out in the countryside. He usually went out and played after his homework. He finished his bacon, which was in his opinion, a bit too crunchy. I finished mother!

Blue removed himself from his chair and took his plate over to the sink and placed it down carefully. His mother was nowhere to be seen, so he returned his room and pulled out his book over Sword Art Online. It explained the creator, how the game worked and the beta test. He was determined to actually get to play the game after lessons. Unluckily, his mother despised video games and believed they rotted his head, which he studied on and there was no actual proven statement saying so. He set the book down as he heard footsteps approaching. A well dressed man walked in and greeted him. Good morning Master Blue, Your mother is waiting in the living room. Blue smiled and said to the man, Thanks Mister Fey. Mister Fey was their only house servant. They were rich but only kept one around because Mother wanted to stay busy and active, but also wanted some help around the house. Blue smiled as he passed the man, and passed through the halls making a left right before the kitchen and entered the living room. You wished to see me Mother? He seen his mother standing over two boxes, bent over looking through the,. When she turned to see them she held two nerve Gears in each hand.

Blue jumped, clapping his hands. He was overjoyed, exciting. You could see the exhilaration in his eyes. He could not wait until he got to put it on and use it. He wished to use it. This instant. Blue calm down. You will get it in a second. Lets take them to my room. There is an outlet on either side of my bed. Blue stayed still, which just contained his excitement, and he felt as if he were about to burst from it. His Mother handed him the headset and he rushed to her room, sprinting through the empty halls. He reached his mother's room and leapt onto her bed and plugged in the headset. Hurry up, Mother! The woman walked in very sternly. You need to calm down or we will not go at all! Blue sat still and shoved the headset onto his head. It had already been fitted for him as well. Now remember.... In the game your name is Typhoon and don't talk to many strangers. Stick with me at all times. Blue looked at the woman, but had no idea what she was saying. He had completely ignored her out of excitement. 11:59 read the clock. Blue laid down and waited for the Gear to read 12:00. A few more moments and it would be there. What if its not what I am expecting? 12:00. Blue sat there for a second. Link Start. He said meekly. Nothing happened. Link Start! He shouted clearly,

A burst of colors flashed before his his eyes, a few things popped in and left the same way. A few codes put themselves in and things began to configure. Finally after about a minute, it requested to input username. He thought for a second and remembered how his mother told him his name was Typhoon now. He typed the letters one by one.                 T Y P H O O N. As he finished he pressed enter and the box faded away. Another flash of colors and everything went white. He seen a bright blue flash of light, and then many buildings, along with a sign. Sword Art Online! He was in. He jumped up for joy and seen the woman he knew as Mother appear in a flash of blue light. He didn't care though. He kept looking around seeing all of the people around him. They seemed excited as well. He looked down seeing a brown leather armor on top of an ugly blue shirt. It was itchy but it seemed standard at the moment. He looked back to his mother and said, Isn't it great Mother!? The woman looked down at him and then replied. Sure I guess. First things first. Get us a new outfit to replace these ugly ones and then start working on studying. I believe it will be great to get a new place to do your homework other than the boring old living room.

Typhoon watched as his Mother looked around frantically, apparently searching for a clothing NPC store. As she spotted one, she took his hand and dragged him along. As they arrived she began to speak with the NPC, and she moved away from him a bit. Typhoon was bored and shifted his weight. As he moved he noticed something on his black move. He felt on his back, and his arm came in contact with something that felt like leather. He felt higher, feeling a harder item. It was heavier things then what he was used to. He pulled the item up, and with the whistle of metal, He pulled out a sword. He examined it in wonder for a short second. He waved it around a few times to get the feel. Cool! It's a bit heavy though. Also has an uncomfortable grip. As he sheathed it he heard his mother thank the NPCWell, they are not fancy but I think it will suit you. I am going to send you an item and you are going to wear it. Typhoon nodded as his mother opened her menu. A few seconds later it said he had received a Blue starting shirt. He smiled, opened his menu and pressed equip. In a blue flash of light, He was wearing the new equipment. This is A ma zing! The game provided so much. Sadly, they would probably only have a few hours left so not any time for playing. He pouted a bit but put on a better smile.

Typhoon, looked around, examining some players. Their happened to be a lot of girls. A lot of them. He felt an hand on his shoulder. It was his mother. She was steering him toward the edge of town he believed. He looked out beyond the gates, seeing fields containing boars grazing on the grass that it held. Piggies. PIGGY! Typhoon always had taken a liking to pigs.   As they reached the gates, he seen his mother look out. A few minutes passed and his mother was still staring. Typhoon reached back and touched his mother. He felt he jump a little and then she quickly said, If we head that way, then we should avoid the boars. She rose her arm pointing in a direction where there was not anything in sight. Typhoon was not happy about that, but he still kept going. They walked forward, until they reached the top of a large hill. His mother looked around before sitting. Typhoon did the same. His mother scrolled through her inventory and frowned, I believed that you were to able to add out of game items into the game. Better enjoy the last bit of your time because this is the last we will be com... His mother was cut short as the sound of bells uprose. Typhoon turned his head. Looking at the starting City. I did not know you could play with bells here. Then came a blue flash of light that engulfed him once more.

Typhoon grinned with glee as the familiar sight of the Twon square appeared in front of him. He clenched his fist, and shook them up and down and said, "Woah! That was so Cool! More players began to arrive and Typhoon looked around. He had no sight of his Mother anywhere. Out of thousands of people, he did not see his mother anywhere. Mother? He asked softly. He felt a pinch of fear, and his happiness drained from his face. He gasped as the sky turned red, and began to drain blood into a area which crackled lightning. From the red, came a man in a red suit. Typhoon turned his attention ignoring the booming voice, that covered up everyone's muttering faces of confusion a bit of worry. Mother? He said a bit louder, trying to heard over the voice and whispers from the crowd. Where was she? Typhoon looked around as fear pumped into his veins and he felt like crying. He was lost in this wave of people. He then heard the other people gasp, some cried some stood in shock. Something was going on, but he did not care. He began to cry as the figure vanished and everyone began to swarm out of the area, some to inn's other to some place in the dark to cry and moan. Typhoon on the other hand sat in the middle of the square, crying.

Another hour past, and Typhoon still sat in the center of the square. He wiped his eyes and stood up. His mother was still nowhere to be seen. I need to start looking I think.... The boy moved, walking into the streets, moving in one direction, as to keep himself from going in circles in this large city. He found another woman sitting in a corner of a building, with his arms over his head, obscuring his face. He inched forward, tapping the woman on the shoulder. She looked out. Her face oozed despair. Hello. Have you seen my mother? The woman's face was torn between many different emotions, and finally ended at anger. The woman stood tall and pointed. Tears were streaming down her face. GO GET OUT OF HERE! Typhoon glared at the woman. The hate coming clearly from his eyes. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL E WHAT TO DO LADY! The small boy reached behind him, feeling the hilt of his heavy weapon. He drew it, and made a single slash, right across the woman's chest. She gasped and fell back. He face was white with fear and she began to scramble away. The small bluenette returned the sword to where he had retrieved it and huffed as he turned away. What is wrong with everyone? They did not lose their mother.

Typhoon stood in silence watching as the woman ran away in the distance, turning left on a different street. The small bluenette pouted before turning back to the direction he was going. He sniffled before trodding on. His blue eyes glanced at everything around him. This game was no longer fun. He had lost his mother, accidentally scared another player somehow, and now he was lost. He looked down the road, seeing it ended in a rather large gate. Would mother be there? He began to sprint, stopping at the gate. Beyond the gate was the plains he seen before. He remembered reading that the plains consisted of few mobs seen by players in this point of the game. That consisted of boars and wolves. He took a step forward, looking around. The plain was literally compacted with hundreds and hundreds of players. They all seemed to be training. Most fought with other players. Some were alone. They must have been solo players. They had no one to fight with or be with, because they were... Just like him….

Typhoon made a few more steps forward meeting a group of players all engaged with a boar. The small bluenette smiled, feeling a twinge of happiness as he pulled his weapon. He seen the players stop in his peripheral vision and stare at him as he brought down his starting blade. Something metal met his blade with a clang. Typhoon fell back and onto the grass. One of the two men loomed over him, sword extended. You should not have done that kid. You don’t belong out in th…. The man’s voice was drowned out as the boar smashed into him. The man was crushed into the ground, leaving the boar to trample him. Typhoon stood still as the man screamed as his life bar quickly depleted. His health bar faded as the red completely drained out of it. The man was crying for some strange reason. Why are you crying mister? The man stared at him and exploded. Blue crystals went everywhere. The man’s friend screamed and scrambled off leaving Typhoon with the boar. The boar was already in red. I wonder why him and his friend were scared. Perhaps they were scared they would not come back to life. That is so silly.

Typhoon held his weapon out as the boar stamped its foot. Typhoon smiled. I thought I would not be able to do this. Typhoon grasped his heavy weapon, raising it in the air. The boar charged, and the small boy brought the weapon down… but not in time. The boar smashed into the bluenette, and he flew back, his health instantly at half. Typhoon laughed, holding his weapon on the ground. He ran forward, and thrust his weapon into the side of the boar. The creature lost but a sliver of health, as Typhoon backed away. The boar stamped its hoof quickly, and began to charge one final time. The boy smiled, and held his sword forward. One touch and the boar was dead. Then the boar did something unexpected. It went around him. The boar went around him, and turned quickly, charging at Typhoon. Typhoon swung his weapon, which was far too early and it flung out of his hands. His closed his eyes, embracing for impact. The out of nowhere the boar pixelated. He looked around, finding a player who stood a few feet away, his arm extended outward as if he just threw something. In a flash, he was holding a knife. The man looked at him darkly and pointed toward the town. With that he turned away and ran off.

Typhoon stood astonished. The man had ran off very quickly, as if in a blur. The small boy looked away. He probably should go and find that man and apologizing for letting him die instead of doing anything. He began to walk back, his feet flattening the blades of grass. He walked through the arch, looking around town. That mister should not have gone far. He should have popped back up around... THEREThe bluenette began to sprint as he seen the fountain which was in the square. That is where they appeared in the game at. He looked around, but the man was nowhere to be found. WellIf he is not here, I can't say sorry I guess. The boy turned to the main street, where his mother had bought him clothes. He began to walk forward, searching for his mother. Perhaps she came back here? Many NPC's called to him, but he quickly moved on ignoring them. He had no interest in buying anything. He pouted as he stumbled along, not finding his mother anywhere on the streets. Somebody will help me.... Somebody always does. The small boy looked around, deciding a different direction to go. Eventually he came across an alley, which he decided to go down. He heard a few voices, whispering quietly down this direction.

The small bluenette crept slowly down the alley, listening carefully. The hushed voices seemed to increase in volume as he managed to edge closer. He turned a cornet, and seen a few players huddling, hoods over their faces to prevent from making facial appearances. There is no point, there are too many players right now.... Another one began to speak in answer. Perhaps, we could pick off the lower levels and get... The players voice seemed to trail off and the boy began to turn back around the corner in which he came, this time much faster and les quiet as before. As he turned he walked into a large man, axe in hand. Typhoon jumped back as the man's booming voice filled the water dripping alley. It appears, that we have a guest... perhaps I can show you around little boy? Typhoon squealed and heard running steps coming up behind him. The boy scrambled backwards back to the wall in which he knew was there, but was grabbed quickly by the back of his collar. "LET ME GO!" Typhoon cried, struggling against his captor. The four players let out a laugh. Now why would we do that? You could be the first victim in the guild we are discussing. We are thinking of a name right at the moment. Typhoon struggled. Guilds are pacts of multiple players that team up. The categories are Frontlines, General, Merchant, and... Player Killing. His thought burned through his mind. These players were trying to make a murder guild.

Typhoon struggled to et free of his captors grasp, but it was all in vain. The large man with the axe spoke up. How much experience do you think we would earn if we were to kill a player? All I know is that we would get an orange cursor from it. They laughed more but it was stopped abruptly when another player came into play. It was a man, blue eyes and brown hair. He radiated confindence and determination. He held a straight sword in hand, that definitely was not a starters weapon. Drop the kid! The man said violently. The four players laughed. The leader of the four stepped up. "What are you to do about it. There are four of us and one of you. Don't make me laugh. Leave now, or you will be in your coffin. The man seemed unfazed. "I am a higher level then you and have much better equipment. I could take you all on at once. I also have more extent in knowledge than all of you most likely. "How are you... oh... IT IS A DAMN BETA TESTER! The large man bellowed at the player, and dropped Typhoon. Typhoon scrambled away, retreating out of harm's way. You four are quite lucky that we are in a safe zone. Else you all would have been struck down. Typhoon began to sneak out of the way before be noticed my one of the henchman players. Hey! He's gettin away! Typhoon began to move faster, ducking behind his savior.

The bluenette ducked behind his savior, fearing for his life. He had no idea who this new player that saved him was, but he knew that the man couldn't take on all four. 'I will make my escape now and let that player fight them all.' When the man died, he would just thank him upon respawn. The tutorial guide that came out before the games release said he would spawn at the center of the town. He looked back down the alley where there was flashing lights and the sound of metal hitting metal. He let out a whimper and moved back into the center of town. "Where is she?" he asked aloud. He thought for a moment. She was on this floor, no one could move on just yet. Perhaps she went home and now was waiting for him there. How to logout again? The tutorial said it was at the bottom of the menu. He opened his menu to be greeted by a ton of options. He moved down to the logout button and selected it. It did not work. "What's going on? Is this not the logout button? I can ask someone later" He began to look through his inventory.
