(PP-F1) Of Maids and Blades (Rin)

Recommended Posts

Jonathan was completely lost. He was holding a girl to give her comfort, and she was now depressed over the loss of her boyfriend. Jonathan had hardly ever dealt with girls so this was a whole new ball game. He stood there though, giving her what little comfort he could. Then the woman began to speak again, apologizing for her to bring him into this. Jonathan shook his head. It is alright.... It appeared you needed someone's shoulder to cry on briefly. Jonathan's face reddened as he remembered a phrase that he read in a book once about crying on shoulders. He shook away the thought and continued. Research shows it is not good to hold stuff in. I was the best I could have done. Perhaps I shall escort you to your shop. From there you can decide what is best for you. You are the main concern at the moment. Jonathan gave a faint smile, but his face gave away that he was obviously worried and pained for Rin. He realeased the woman, freeing her. He had know idea what to do so he would just stick to what she wants....

Rin sniffled as she continued to pull away from his chest attempting to cope with the heartache that was still looming within her shattered heart. As she glanced up she tried to smile and laugh feeling quite stupid about all of this as she slid back in against his shoulder her head resting upon it. "I'm such a burden on everyone I meet, Itzal. Mina. Hakai. You. I sometimes wonder if that I wasn't suppose to stay in that in room sulking till the end of this game." As she peeked up she then rolled across his shoulder till her head was planted firmly in his chest now mewling out like a stray cat. "I'm ready for the escort mister knight." She whispered now glancing back toward the path they had taken it really was a shame she should have indulged him longer than this perhaps the next time he showed up to the shop she would have the courage to. "Thanks Jon." As she rubbed her eyes clear of tears she slid up and planted a rather teary kiss against his cheek.

Jonathan stood silently as the woman softly spoke about how she was such a burden. Jonathan was lost though. He had never dealt with this before and never met someone thinking of themselves as  a waste of space. Jonathan looked toward the woman who pressed her head against his shoulder. Jonathan smiled faintly and felt as the woman rolled from his shoulder to his chest and made a small mew. She then said she was ready for the escort. She glanced back at the path from which they had come before placing a kiss on his cheek. Almost instantaneous his face went read, but he shook it away. He turned to the path, and doing so he picked up the smaller girl. Her frame was small, and her body light, allowing him to carry her without restrain. He began to walk forward back towards the shop. He had no idea what to say or do, so he silently walked back down the path that they had come in hope in a second that he would know what to say or do. He was depressed for this girl, but he had a faint smile on his face.

@Rin Sorry for the short post there....

Rin let out a rather startled squeak, as if a mouse had been making it's presence known to the household that was unaware of it's living within the walls of the owners domain. After the humiliating kiss that bloomed the rosy color of red in Jon's cheek her sudden predicament of being carried was her turn. Another embarrassed mewl now escaped her pursed lips as she hid her humiliation again into his shoulder. The muffled voice of the woman attempting to mumbled out a coherent sentence referring to either: "Thank you, but the lift wasn't entirely necessary." OR "Tai-chi and lifts were extremely nauseating." Thankfully though the grumbles would keep her nuzzled into his chest as she now felt her legs draped over his arms and her body carried bridal style. Her eyes peeping out from over his shoulder as she kept a rear guard for the man of sorts in order to thank him for the ride. Once every few seconds she would shoot a glance over toward his face as she slowly felt more and more like a child in her fathers arms when those years had long passed her, especially since their age difference was so small.

Jonathan slowly walked back over to Rin's shop. The really did not have much longer, perhaps another  two minutes of a walk. He heard the woman say something, but it was quiet, and muffled, causing him to not hear her entirely. It sounded a bit like thank you, but he was not going to ask her to repeat or anything. Finally the reached the small shop and Jonathan stepped inside, ensuring that he did not hit the woman on the door frame. As he entered, he moved her to a chair, and sat her on it gently, sliding his arms slowly away from her. With a deep breath Jonathan gave her a smile and moved for some light humor. "Well that is one maid returned, safe and sound before her master returned." Jonathan chuckled a bit and sat down himself, wondering if the woman would ask for him to leave or something else. He just did not want to leave if he was the only bit of "Comfort" other than solitude around. With her sat, facing him he smiled encouragingly to see what the woman would do.

Rin curled her legs and head in to attempt and make his entrance through the doorway simpler, as she now glanced around her rather empty shop. It wasn't often people came to visit her for supplies to be made, plenty of other trained tailors were far more experienced then herself. A suffering sigh of depression slipped before she pulled up her legs onto the chair so she partially was shield by her own legs as she looked over to Jonathan. "T-thanks for carrying me all this way. Would you like anything for your troubles?" Rin's legs went down to rest on the ground as she started to stand up contemplating what to offer. "I um could make some cocoa or something or ... a plushie since I'm not really much of a cook." She grimaced realizing that most male warriors probably had little care of a plushie to be carried into battle with them. "I-I really must repay you for all this somehow please just name a price?" She frantically flailed now feeling indebted. As she did so she squeaked falling back into her chair as she cringed her soft tush now planted firmly upon the seat.

As Jonathan sat in the chair he watched Rin rather closely. She gave off a depressing sigh and lifted her legs into her chair. The Tank Paladin brushed the blond hair out of his eyes as began to listen to the darker haired woman. She went on about needing to thank him with something, but Jonathan rose his handing pardoning her words away. He stood, raising to his full height. "Don't worry Rin, you are not in debt to me, nor will you ever be. I am quite happy with helping other people." Jonathan led forward with a faint smile and the woman returned to her seat. He had no idea what to do from here, but he kept going, trailing his eyes around the room. "Do you spend most of your time in here? Have you really ever been to another floor, and just explored? Sight seeing maybe?" He looked over ton Run and thought, Her believing that monsters are deceased players, kind of sucks. It is possible, but if they were other players, why would they attack? Unless there brains were altered, but then they aren't actually the players anymore.

Rin's head simply nodded up and down to the comment of Jon, most her days were spent in the solitude of the confides of her shop, or home as it was. This was all she was capable of affording under the rather poor conditions among the players of Aincrad not everyone was in a guild or could afford such  pleasantries of budding up with numerous players that you could trust in. Even those she had learned most about she didn't fully trust, Itzal. Jon. Hakai especially. That girl still frightened the skittish child who sat all hunched over in her shop. It wasn't frigid but the chills had taken over the females body as she began to fidget wondering if she should some day create a fire place for this rather shabby hut. "Yeah I have explored a bit with some random players I met," she mewled softly as she now drooped further behind her legs as she curled back up on the seat sighing. "I just don't enjoy exploring into the wilderness all the cruelty that goes on around us, I just can't add watching such terrible actions such as pking or muggings any longer. It's safe in here and thus here I will stay. Even if it's a bit cold." All this game brought seemed to be sadness into the heart of Rin, perhaps life wasn't meant to continue outside of the real world, if only Alex's spirit would have shown her a sign that life beyond death was paradise.

The blond stood as the faint breeze rolled in. He kept his attention mainly to the girl with fair dark hair. She was beautiful in many ways, but the tank would probably take a long time before building up the courage to say it to her face. She admitted that she had not been out of her dusty shop in a while and the blond sighed, shaking his head from side to side. "If you are going to spend your days in here, you need to liven it up a bit, so you actually can feel comfortable." The blond returned his rear into his seat and glanced around at the bareness of some areas on the walls, the low lighting, and the empty spaces. Is this what the people in the first floor feel like? Wanting to rot their days inside until everyone else completes the game? Jonathan returned his gaze to Rin. On his face lay pleading eyes, but the blond did not know what to do. She was right when it came to the mugging, killing. Many players spent their days roaming around, causing mischief. "I understand what you mean, i have seen my fair share of it by far. Please don't lay waste upon yourself, and don't let this game change you." Jonathan sat sadly, his blond hair somewhat covering his sad and pleading eyes that yearned for Rin to be free of this. Why do people do this? Hide away and let their ownselves was away? It is a shame to see that there are so many, with such great potential.

Rin blushed as she heard him speak up, the words to live up her life in this new realm were motivational, but possibly not enough she needed a guiding hand ever since her boyfriend died. It was difficult growing use to the fact that someone would be around to console you when everything was going horribly. Then in that instant where the one person who you could talk to was taken away by the harsh reality of this world. "H-how can I not I just see people I think about and I wonder of how they are gonna die and leave me again?" She sniffled before pulling herself up and out of her chair as she now stumbled over to sit in Jon's lap her eyes tearing and breath heavy from the cries. "I-I d-don't want to just waste away b-but I can't deal with this any more I-I shouldn't be in here without h-him I should have been with him when he died maybe I-I could have saved him with myself h-he was the one who should have saved this world and kept living to the next he was the strong one." She whimpered now  pressing her forehead into his chest her entire body crumpled up nearly upon his lap as she tried to stop crying.

The blond listened closely to the woman. She made a decent point. How does she know the people she care's about are not going to die? Thinking carefully Jonathan replied, "I understand where you are coming from. None of us know when we will die, and we wish to not die. In the real world though, people are dying all of the time, it never comes across our mind that someone we love is going to die. Aincrad is really just a severe case of humans no longer being at the top" Jonathan watched as she took another sob and stumbled forward, placing herself on his lap. 'I have become the comfort zone I believe' He looked up her and noticed her eyes and cheeks were bleat red from sobbing and crying so hard. From here, she just began to completely break down. She seemed to be quite hard on herself for the death of "Alex" . She said he was the strong one, and if anyone could have gotten out, it was him. What do I do? What can I do? "You can't blame yourself for his death. For example, I feel like my entire job in this world, is to help others. I am only one person, and I try my hardest, but I can't help everyone, because I am not there. I can't take myself responsible for all of their deaths...." The blond stifled a sigh before beginning to speak once again.  "Alex's death was not your fault.... No offense, but really at your level you could have done nothing but get yourself killed. Anyway, Alex sounds like a great guy, and I am pretty sure he would not want you beating yourself up over his death." The woman had found herself nestled in his chest, as if he were now her nest, her body curled up.

"But I am to blame. I-If I wasn't such a pathetic weakling ... I-I could have been there along side him and saved him and the squad that he fought along side not just sit at home waiting for him to return." She sniffled now as she just leaned into his lap uncertain of what to do with herself it felt like the moment his name disappeared form her friend list and the day she tossed out all of the things he bought her. It was to painful to remember it all as she now lied their shivering her head in Jon's lap as she just cried. Each sentence he spoke reassuring her that Alex wouldn't have wanted any of this only caused her to feel like he was back in his arms now as she slowly pulled herself up into his lap now sitting against it like she use to. Her head resting against his shoulder as she muttered out softly, "Please don't leave alone again." As she buried her face into his neck she felt comfortable for the first time as she started to believe what he was saying. I-I feel responsible b-but y-you are right I'm not." Rin lied their the waterworks beginning to end as she just leaned into him feeling both warm and helpless at the same time.

Jonathan sat there, helpless to the fact that this girl was beating herself up over the loss of her loved one. There was almost nothing he could do about it. She positioned herself tighter into his lap, and rested her head upon his shoulder, some of her hair drifting to the other side. Her next words echoes like a broken memory in his mind. "Please don;t leave me alone again" Rin was replacing him with Alex. It had appeared her shattered and broken state had decided to cope with transforming him into Alex. He smiled softly and rested his his head utop of hers. "I am not going anywhere. I won't leave you ever again"  he felt a bit guilty for doing this, but it had ot be done. It would help her out big time emotionally. Had he just brought himself into a world of Rin? It did not matter now, all that mattered to him at the moment was keeping Rin happy. He would be replacing Alex to the best of his ability. "You have had a pretty long day, perhaps you would like to rest?" he asked solemnly. He felt he knew what would happen if she said yes. He would definently be here the rest of the night, spending it with Rin.
