Seul 1 Posted November 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) Floor 15 wasn't really one Seul imagined himself spending too much time on. A gigantic forest? Please, like he had the time to play around with the creepy crawling things that lurked in the fog. But to his surprise while walking along a path he encountered a... Dog? This was the first time he saw one since he had been trapped and for once it wasn't a monster like Malethis or the three-headed fire mutt. Just a normal old dog that one would keep as a pet. It strolled over to him and stuck out its neck to reveal a collar underneath. Attached to it was a rolled up piece of paper which it seemed like he was supposed to take. Seul grabbed and unfolded it only to be met with a note from three NPCs on a mission to save a girl who was kidnapped by an evil witch. With the quest window popping up soon after, the knight accepted before giving the dog a pat on the head. His task for the day was clear. Seul 1 Posted November 18, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) The dog Toto, at least that was the name shown on its collar, lead Seul to a log cabin somewhere in the giant forest. The door was open and the small animal walked in without hesitation so the knight did the same. Something he might have soon come to regret. The place was deserted, but that didn’t stop the winds from picking up outside. The freak storm engulfed the cabin and blocked any sort of view that might have existed outside of the window. When it finally cleared the location where was… Different. “I don’t think we’re in Aincrad anymore, little buddy…” Of course that wasn’t true though. Nothing was ever that easy. Waiting around inside wasn’t bringing any answers though, so he opened the door only to be greeted by sight of three strange NPCs: The scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion. He felt like he was in for a real treat now. Edited November 23, 2016 by Seul
Seul 1 Posted November 23, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted November 23, 2016 The scarecrow was the first of the trio to step forward. “Thank you for coming to help us. I am Scarecrow and these are my friends Tin and Lion.” He said while motioning to the other two. Scarecrow went into more depth about the task at hand. As it turned out the three of them were rendered unable to fight by the Witch of the West since she took away their parts so an outsider was needed to save the girl, Dorothy. He also explained how to get to the witch’s castle ad from the sound of it, the place was not too far away from their current location. Seul nodded as he processed all of the information, but ultimately decided to let the three lead the way. He was unfamiliar with the terrain of the fifteenth floor and each second wasted only needlessly placed Dorothy further in harm's way.
Seul 1 Posted November 23, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) The castle was exactly how he imagined it to be; tall and ominous with dark clouds surrounding the point at the top. As the party approached the gates opened, but the scene was anything but inviting. Seul figured it was probably a trap as someone crafty enough to be able to kidnap a person shouldn’t have been careless enough to just leave their front door open and in a way he was right. When they passed through an ambush of four were panthers jumped out and blocked them from proceeding. “Stand back everyone!” He commanded while dropping his manticore mask down over his face and having the others retreat while he dealt with the beasts. He swung his sword in a horizontal arc and although the move kept them back long enough for the others to slip away it didn’t actually hit anything. The werepanthers took advantage of the wide swing to attack him from different angles with their own swords, but the damage they dealt was minimal. Seul 1 Posted November 23, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) Shaking off the beastmen would take precedence over everything else. Spinning around with his sword in a wide arc proved to be enough to force the monsters back, but it was only a matter of time before they would strike again. Seul’s blade began to shine with a brilliant light, signalling that a sword art wouldn’t be too far behind. Without missing a step he managed to lash out with 6 consecutive slashes from different angles, hitting all of the werepanthers and bringing them down to their last legs with a single move. Holy Blessing made sure no damage was sustained on his end, so the fight was heavily one-sided this time around. He almost felt bad for them in a way, remembering what it was like to be powerless when he first stepped outside of the starting city’s walls. The world was a cruel place to call home. With any luck he wouldn’t be staying long.
