[SP-F2] Grab the Light <<Let there be light>>

With this, he would begin to walk around, the yellow bar going back to green as his health was begin regained. Good, just in time for the main event that came next. The NPC child that was missing would end up screaming from the inside of the cave, showing that she was in danger of some sort. Perhaps the other bat had been startled by the screeching of this one. That child had better not be hurt, they were such fragile investments. So with this mentality, he'd place his spear up, disregarding any hope of regaining all of his health as he aimed to get towards the direction of the voice. What was once screaming soon mixed with crying as well, unnerving him even further and forcing him to run even further in the darkness before he ended up reaching what seemed like a dead end as he slammed his body into it. Such grace. However, two directions were then presented, left or right. There was a fork.

The voice was nowhere to be heard this time, and he waited a bit, hoping that  it would make the noise it did from one of the two directions. Much to his disappointment, it did not repeat himself. Was he too late? No, it was not yet time to be thinking in such a negative way yet. Provided he got to the bat and killed it, the NPC girl should be fine. It was not as if a time limit had been set anyways. Whatever was needed to help him sleep at night was what would be thought up. So he had to take a random stab at the direction he chose to go. He can only hope that fate would not bring him in the wrong direction, so he would choose the left path of the two, hoping that it would bring him somewhere. Running towards the darkness of the deepened cave, he would eventually come to a screeching halt when he saw it. Up on the ceiling... A girl had been bound to the ceiling, and she seemed to be in a motionless state... In which he can only hope was sleep.

Quick to make the first strike, the bat would not see him coming as he would rush towards it, willing to put it all on the line to carry out this attack. Placing out his spear towards the giant bat, he would make the first strike as it would rip through the head of the NPC, revealing a red "Critical" hit above it's head. Perfect headshot, and so he would continue this by leaping back when it would make an attempt to strike him with it's wing, but he'd jump back safely from the attack and avoid it. He made sure to strike it with his sword art, maiming blow, causing severe damage to be inflicted onto their being. With a half smile on his face, he would look up to see how the enemy would react. Just as expected, it would end up screeching in pain from the blow that he had just delivered to it's body. With this, the battle had just begun, and the snowy-haired player loved the advantage that he already had.

Sweet, first strike! With this, he would end up approaching the bat slowly, moving with gentle steps as he can see it much better this time. While there was not too much light, he was able to see the outline of the field boss, ready to continue the assault that he had started. However, all of a sudden, the giant bat would give him nasty retaliation and lash out at him, tackling the player and causing him to tumble with a mighty amount of force on the rock ground. Due to this, he would take a bit of damage, but nothing too severe. Battle Healing was active, and it most certainly made a difference for him in this fight. He would quickly get back up to his feet, prepared to strike at it once again with the spear, but it was not in sight. Somewhere around his location for sure, but it was moving around out of view. Tracking it down was not too good an idea, he preferred to just wait for its attack before countering.

With this, it would make it's attack from the side all of a sudden. He was able to move out of the way by jumping back, but nearly getting the wing to the chest. As a result, he was lucky enough to not get hit. With this, he would activate his sword art once again, placing his spear up as it would emit blue light from the tip. His legs would spring at the confused giant bat as he would then end up stabbing the beast twice on the neck. Due to this, he would be able to inflict more critical damage onto the opponent. The red critical hit sign would appear above its head once again, resulting in him putting it from the yellow zone to the red zone rather quickly. The first bat was far too hard, and this was was far too easy. Experience could be a part of it, but that was not all of it surely. He could not believe that to be the case. Maiming blow was able to give him an advantage in combat, now the bat was nearly down and out.

He was very close to beating the opponent, one more hit and it would have been the end of the batltle. Of course, during this time though, it seems like every boss monster goes into some form of rage when it dioes so, and he was unable to land the last hit so easily as he tried to slice at it, and all of the hits would end up hitting nothing but dead air. As a result, he only wasted his energy when he tried to strike at the bat. In return, it would protect itself with it's wings before then pushing out those same wings with a might amount of force, slapping his body against the wall behind him. Nothing critical, but it was enough to feel to pain of the attack. With that, he would fall down onto the ground, clenching his teeth as he would groan a bit in pain, but that was all. With this, he would shake his head before placing his spear back in his grip once again. This battle was far from over it seemed.

The next strike from the bat was none too good, as it did not even come close to hitting him. It would leave nothing but air as it aimlessly charged for him. However, he himself was aimless when he tried to slash towards the side. This however also forced the metal to meet the air without any flesh cut in the process. Nope, this was not going to work, and the player full well knew this. His violet eyes locked onto the outline of the bat as it was flying once again, neither of them were able to get anything done from that exchange. Unfortunately for bat, one of them had a passive effect on them, and the other one was a bat with a lot amount of health now. Sey could continue fighting on like this, the bat was not in any condition to do the same. It was not going to last much longer.

He saw this chance! His spear would glow in blue light once again as he planned to spam the maiming blow skill once again. Yes, that was his main attack for the moment, while he had his energy the way he did, he was going to keep on using it, because it inflicted the most damage. Placing his feet onto the ground, he would make his way towards the bat as it flew, only to jump into the air and slam the tip of the weapon onto the back of the field boss. This ended up knocking it down onto the ground… But it did not shatter to pieces of data. The health bar was low for sure, near the death point… But the enemy was not dead. This was just insane, he was so sure he needed one more hit. And after taking it… It was still active and kicking in the fight.

With this, the bat was acting as if it did not take any damage at all, flying through the cavern without a single problem. It did have an energy bar, right? Then how was it not low? Sey felt the beads of sweat dripping from his forehead, his body heat growing way too high from the amount of sword arts he had been using against his opponents. Yet this bat was active. And not only was it active, but when it made its attempt to go in for the strike… It was actually successfully when it hit him from behind, causing him to stumble forward from the impact, but not too much had been taken at all. He turned around to see nothing but the outline turning smaller, showing that it was flying away, and he was not going to bother hitting it when it was that far out of his range. He was so close.

For there was one final strike to aim for, he needed a Sword Art to catch it off guard with his speed. Gripping his spear tightly, he would let it slowly coat in blue light as he triggered one of the arts. But his reason for doing so was not for the attack itself. Snake Bite was very effective, surely, but he needed one of the effects that it provided him. The illumination of the room. With this, he would look around to pinpoint where the bat had bit. Southeast, coated in blue light as it aimed to make it's way towards that easy. Taking advantage of this newfound knowledge, the spear-wielder would apply pressure down to his legs, bending his knees in springing position... And then he leaped. Swinging the weapon from the left to the right side, he'd slam the tip onto it's side. While it did also cut into his hip with it's wing, that damage was minimal. The giant bat however, it was in not so much of a good position. Not only was it grounded, but after a few seconds, it would shatter into pieces of data.

Now that had that had been finished, he would look up to see the girl hanging up on the roof of the cavern. She seemed to be breathing at least, but all that blood being sent to her head can't be healthy for any human being. Knowing this, he'd leap up into the air with his spear in his grip. He felt a lot of tension on his muscles, feeling weaker as he carried out the task that he is. However, he would successfully slice the bindings before dropping to the ground, catching the lightweight child in his right arm. Sweet, now he had to get out of there before they ended up in a third encounter, something that the snowy-haired player is unable to afford for now. So he'd make his way out with as much energy as he can, though it was extremely scarce. He had enough to carry her, but that was about it. If they are in an encounter, he'd just going to have to take the pain and get out of there via walking, protecting the child.

The girl was gentle while she was sleeping. Nothing about her crying for her mother or any fears of him being the bad one. Honestly, it made the job a lot easier for him. Fortunately, he had yet to obtain a shield yet, so he was able to carry her with his free hand in the process as he looked for his way out of the maze that was the caverns. It took a little bit of time considering how big it was. The darkness were adjusted to by now, but now it came up to recollection and memory retention. With any luck, he’d be able to get out of the caves and get towards the village. The bats seemed to be quiet if there were any left, but he liked to think that they were not there since they were far too silent. And fortunately for an optimist, he was correct.

Moving out of the caves served to be much harder than expected, since there turned out to be many branches inside of it that he took without noticing. It was only a miracle for him to even find the two bosses in the process, but now getting out was going to be a lot harder for him. No voice of the screaming girl that he was able to follow, so he must rely on his navigation skills and hope for the best. With this in mind, he knew that he could do the task, what with him being able to venture many sights in dangerous areas…. With another player. But this time, he was alone with a child in his arms, so this was a different scenario that can have a different ending as well. He could hope for that not to be the case, but how far does hope go?

Turning his head to the left side, he would notice that a wall was in the way. But there was a path forward and a path to his right side. This place seemed rather familiar in all honesty. Shifting his body around counterclockwise as a ninety-degree angle, he would end up noticing that this was the fork that he was in before he fought off the second bat. With this in mind, that meant that he was supposed to move towards the right. The light from the outside world should be a lot more revealing when he does that. In doing so, he would move out wards the right side to see where it lead him. This allowed him to see the light at the end of the cavern a bit more, the brighter the world seemed showed how much closer he was. So now he had his hint, how far can it get him?

There were no other hints to rely on, he just needed to look for the path that had more light, and that would lead him out of the area he was in. In doing so, he would end up moving out towards the right side again when put up with another fork, since one source of light seemed a lot brighter than the other. At this rate, he will most certainly be out of there, the confidence in him was definitely felt as he would the make it out of the next cavern. Only a few more, and he should be well on his way to finish the quest. Looking at the girl in his arm, he would notice that her gaze was meeting his own all of a sudden… Had she been awake the whole time? There was no way he could have missed that, and yet he did regardless.

Despite being awake and everything, the girl seemed to be more of a mute if anything. Not a single word had been spoken. But at least she did not bother giving him a hard time with it either, she was a sweet NPC child. “Rise and shine. Do you think you are able to walk, little one?” He’d ask the confused child. She would nod her head slowly, confirming that she thought she had enough strength to do so. Following her words, he would then gently place her onto the ground, making sure that she was comfortable with having her feet touch the ground before letting go of any support on her being. It was only until then when he’d be comfortable with a fight, though with little energy, he knew that the child could run from battle while he distracted any monsters that were around. Now they have the field to cross.

Continuing to walk towards that direction, he would place his free left palm in his pocket as he and the girl would walk side by side through the fields. Fortunately for the both of them, nothing seemed to want to lash out at them. Perhaps a player came by and took them all out. Or maybe they don’t spawn near the caves. Either way, they were just about all gone, meaning that neither of them had to fear anything. With this, they would begin to trek out of the meadows and into the safe zone once he reached that point, only for the worried mother to be by the edge of the street waiting for him and the NPC child to arrive. Once that happened, the child did not hesitate to sprint towards her mother, leaping with open arms and painful sounding tears as she hugged her guardian NPC. Despite not being real, they certainly knew how to pluck his emotions.

Looking back at the two of them reminded him of his own family. While they were not so prone to hugging like that, he remembered being close to his father and hanging out with him. While a wealthy man, he was genuinely nice and went out of his way to help others. Despite having an assured life, his parent taught him what he needed to survive in life. What words he would have to say, how he needed to act, what skills he needed to learn, and that sort of thing. Sometimes Sey thought he might have been a little strict, but only because he was a father who truly cared for his son. Now because of one sons choice to be made, he can’t see that child again unless that child is able to fend for himself. Sey liked to believe he was prepared, but only because he had been taught to be a survivalist.

With the collected Col that he obtained, he would go back out towards the fields once again. He needed a bit of time to recollect on his previous life and what he was doing now. Would his family be proud of him and what he had done? If they were here, would they tell him to do the things that he did? While he met new players, he was able to kill monsters and animals without any remorse. Did that not make him a killer? But at the end of the day, the monsters and the animals were not real, they could just respawn and become something else. However, with that train of thought, he would be a hypocrite, because the NPCs were also the same with that sort of logic. Should they not be treated the same way? And if they are treated any differently, is it because they are supposed to represent the humans?

He found himself in isolation from the world, so there was no reason to not be honest with himself. Perhaps he had some form of double standards. Was there anything he planned to do with that? Honestly, he would just shake his head as he would realize that he would rather not. He valued human lives the most it seemed, and had no problem with killing mobs in order to gain his own items and treasures. Perhaps he would be able to reassure himself that his crystal was green, not orange. He was not willing to kill others outside of a real arena battle… Though… He has not yet been pushed that far. If another player comes, threatening his life and tries to kill him, why should he take it? He might have to end that other players life, and Sey was not sure that was a reality he was ready to face yet.
