[F1 - PP] The Return and the New Day

"No..." he said to himself as he hid himself away for weeks on end after the incident he had with that player... the pixels, the sword... they're stained. He couldn't believe what he had done, but what has been done is done... even if he had the realization of who he had killed. He had that realization as he locked himself away... Manta's wife. He knew what would come next if she had came up to him... he knew he'd be dead. To think he had started to like her even, its all been thrown away he thought. Today, he decided to walk of his sorrows and finally step out and say that he's better than this, to lock himself away... due to a color. He can get through this, he just needs to accept the fact of who he actually is... not what others think about him. He took a deep breath and walked out of the town of beginnings outward to the plains that was further ahead. He didn't change his emotion, he kept himself looking rather... dull.

Hakai was rather surprised to see Beatbox hanging around outside of the town of beginnings. She hadn't necessarily been searching for him, but she was certainly glad know where he was. She wouldn't want her Beatbox to have fallen in with the wrong crowd like Laughing Coffin or something. She was a pissed that he had killed Sierra, but not for the reasons most people would suspect. She liked having Sierra around simply for the fact that people would be less likely to kill her for her demonic. To tell the truth it had been a complete coincidence that she had noticed Beatbox walking away from the city, but it was a good one. She sprinted out of the city and towards him, running full speed until she finally got close to him and slowed down to a walk. "Your boring when your depressed." She stated simply, raising an eyebrow and wondering if he would try to run or something, even though she hadn't threatened him at all. Maybe he could sense her annoyance?

Beatbox stopped walking and stood there as he looked forward away from Hakai. "I get that you're annoyed. I get that you are mad. I would be too if you had killed my significant other." he said with a dull blank face. He turned around to face her with no emotion "Anger is dangerous tool. Its destroyed everything that I worked for. I can't imagine the damage that I have done, and to think I liked you for a day or two." he said before turning around to walk away. That's all he wanted to say about the situation, he put his hands in his pockets and closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he walked away. "If revenge is what you wish, you may kill me. I have nothing to look forward to anyways." he said as he stopped in his tracks on more time and waited for the sword to be unveiled. He didn't moved, however his familiar Ocarina wanted to, but Beatbox didn't move an inch.

Hakai leaned down and picked up a piece of wood off the ground below her, acting unfazed by Beatbox's short speech. "Anger is a useful tool, but one that can get a bit out of control." She said with a tiny smirk. "I think we're very similar in that way. But the difference between us is that I dont care what happens when my anger gets out of control. Your sad and depressed because you took a life, big deal. Im only annoyed because you took one of my assets away. What would my killing you do? Revenge is an idiotic idea and a waste of resources." She cocked her head to the side and looked at him before walking up to him so that they were almost touching she was so close. "If you want forgiveness I'll give it to you, even though I dont believe in the concept." She paused and leaned closer so that their lips almost touched. "If you really need something to look forward to, let that be me."

He looked back to Hakai with an angered look "It's only useful when you have no way out or any other option, but ending a life over a smile you've grown to is just stupid. And everyone should be seen more than just an asset, everyone is worth something and if you only married her to get something that she has, that is sick." he growled to her. "I don't deserve forgiveness, I killed something you loved and you're acting as if that all I did was steal an item that you have. I killed someone you understand." he stopped as he was shocked to then see her lean over to almost touch her lips against his, he looked back and said with an smile and a angered look and said to her "Only if you don't look at me like an asset you monster. Look at me as an actual person and loved one, not some pet or toy." he said as he grabbed her sides and pulled her a little closer to him. "And especially don't forget the monster that I am, I took a life and took something away from you. I don't deserve any forgiveness. Only suffering." he giggled.

Hakai looked up at him, making eye contact as he spoke. She allowed him to pull her closer to himself and finish speaking before she pulled away gently. "You dont know me. I dont care about anything or anyone but myself. Sierra wasn't an asset, it was the shared inventory. I dont love people, so dont think that you took away anything especially important to me." She paused and crossed her arms. "Accept me as I am or walk away. The only thing I can promise you is to tell the truth to you, not love or affection or anything like that. Maybe that'll come in time." She paused, waiting for his answer. She didn't think he was a monster, and she didn't think that he deserved suffering. He was just doing what his instincts told him, like herself to a smaller extent. "For the record I dont see you as an asset, a pet, or a toy." She stated after a moment.

Beatbox smiled as he had heard from her "And that's what I like about you Hakai." he said as he looked up into the sky towards the sun then back to her with a determined smile "You will speak whats on your mind, not giving any pity. And that's what I like about you." he shook his head and said "I understand that you treated her like an asset, and I believe that you wont treat me like one of them. But trust me Hakai..." he said as he walked up to her gently and patted her back "I like your type. You're blunt and accept the decisions that I have made and give me no pity what-so-ever." he giggled. He looked back forward and stood there for a moment in silence before looking back her with a smile and said "Say... why do you even want to be the person that I look forward to anyways?" he asked her with a questioned look as he didn't know exactly.

"Because I know that you need something to look forward to, otherwise youll be looking down or back, and neither of those are very fun." She stated. "I dont mind being around you either, which is a plus." She turned away from him and looked into the distance, thinking to herself. She wasnt about to voice the rest of her thoughts. Somehow she felt as though he wouldn't like the fact that she really wanted to change him. She wanted to remove that fear of his darker side and get to him to embrace it and realize that it was a part of him. No one gave him that 'smile', it was his and always was. She let her own crazed smiled break out, still facing away from him before drawing her sword from her scabbard as she twirled on her heel, the blade slicing through Beatbox's chest, leaving a long green slash mark. "I dont care how close we get, I'll warn you in advance, if you play with me youll have it ten times worse than this." She said, her smiled broad and cold. She toned it down almost immediately though, the smile fading to a more serious look before she sheathed her sword. She had no plans to go too far, as much as her thirst for blood wanted her to.

He felt a little guilty, he felt like from her response that she was doing it to help him out... he didn't really want to force her to do anything. He closed his eyes and said to her with a sigh "you don't have to Hakai. I'm fine with being alone, it really doesn't bother me." he opened his eyes in shock to see that Hakai had swung her sword across his chest dealing a good amount of damage to him... even envenom exclaiming her words and an evil smile. He looked up at his health to see that he was stunned, Beatbox's evil smile had grown to his face as he hit the ground. He laid on the ground paralyzed with his evil smile and said to her "I'd never play you my queen." he giggled evilly. His paralysis was wearing off but he was still paralyzed. His smile had worn off has hers worn off, he turned to a grin and said to her "you understand this smile of mine... we both see each other as a monster... you understand my pain, for that my queen... I am yours." he said as his paralysis wore off.

Hakai gave him a smile as he exceeded her expectations with his reply. She reached down and gripped his hand to pull him to his feet. "I suppose if we're going to be together we should learn more about each other. My real name is Hakai, same as my username i'm not new to virtual games. In fact, i was prescribed them by a psychologist to get my aggression out. I used to run a player killing guild in another game, Zandra's guild's enemy." She said. "So whats your history with games like these?" She asked quietly, looking back towards the Town of Beginnings, her mind not completely on the conversation at hand. "How are you dealing with not being able to go into safe zones? As an orange player it must be difficult to get equipment and stuff that you need." She asked a few moments later, wondering if she should help him find a place to stay.

Beatbox had taken a deep breath as she had helped him get back onto his feet, he had felt the venom burn in his skin and he made a hiss as it began to burn again. He shook off the pain and smiled towards her as he had listened to her. He looked forward and said to her "Seems fair... my real name is James, pretty... common, I should say. I am pretty new to the virtual reality genre, the closest games I have ever gotten to was computer games or actual consoles, I mostly player First Person Shooters more than actual RPG's, but I have played enough to get by." he said with a sigh "So... you ran a player killer guild? How well did that go Hakai?" he asked with a genuine wonder on how well it was ran. He looked back to the town of beginnings and looked back to her with a smile "It doesn't necessarily bother me. If I really wanted to get back into the safe zones I would do the redemption quest to turn myself green. A false green cursor... I can't stand to live by it. But if I need it to get back into the safe zones to get equipment... well, I guess I have to." he said with a sigh as he knew it would bother him to have a false green cursor. "However I am fine with camping out and sleeping by the scenery. Its actually pretty quiet, if you can call beginner players screams as they are dying from low level mobs quiet."

"It went incredibly well. We focused on stealth and raiding other guilds camps, as well as unique and complex builds and strategies. I wish this game was more complex like the other ones." She said. She smiled as he said that he could do redemption and get his cursor back but he didn't want to because it would be fake. "Thats a bit silly, but its your choice. Thats like willingly wearing a sign that says killer for everyone to see." She wasnt going to push him though. "I feel as though low level players dying to mobs is a rarity now. That used to be a common thing, but its really died down. If you need somewhere else to stay theres a cave behind a frozen waterfall on the fourth floor. We could set up a fire and bring some blankets and stuff there for you, until you find somewhere more permanent." She offered. The cave would certainly be safer than sleeping where anyone could come across you and sleep kill you.

Beatbox had giggled at her stating that it went exceptionally well, he looked back outwards to the plains where weak boars has stood looking around the area and said to her "What did I expect my queen... I would only assume that it should have gone well as such." he giggled, he knew that most guilds thrive to help beginners and create more unique builds, but not all the time are they successful... its nice to see that Hakai has experience in such. His smile turned to a grin as she had exclaimed about the whole cursor thing, he looked back to her and said "I don't want to be forgiven for this. I want my sins to travel with me, but with they way this game runs, its impossible for me to do so. My cursor will turn green soon enough, don't worry my queen." he sighed. He chuckled and looked back to her after hearing her exclaim about beginners dying, he said to her with another chuckle "You'd actually be surprised. Some just never learn." He listened to her speak about a cave behind a frozen waterfall on floor 4 and how it would be a good place to stay, Beatbox sighed and thought to himself for a bit, he eventually stopped and shook his head "I think I'll be good... I'm good for nothing anyways." he said looking down upon himself.

"I get it, your a bit masochistic." She said after listening to him. "But regardless I dont think you will be. Its really dangerous to be sleeping out in the open like this, even if your sleeping up in a tree or something. You should find a nice deserted place like a cave and make it into a home until you go green again. I dont want you dying on me just because you feel like you deserve self inflicted punishment." She stated before reaching out to grasp his hand with her own. Then she realized that she was being decietful and had promised to tell him the truth. "Scratch that. I dont really care if you die to some player killers because your sleeping in the open. But if you ever want me to care then dont die to something stupid like that." She explained, giving him the bare bones of the facts. She had promised to after all, and she didn't go back on her word easily. It just wasnt good for business.

"That's what I thought my queen." he smiled evilly towards her as he tightened his grip as they grasped hands. He giggled and pulled her to a hug and said to her in her ear "Look, i'm not going to die. I'll hide myself away just for you my queen... there is nothing to worry about... if you worried about anything. But I like that about you, you just know. You don't worry, you don't get upset when something happens... you just know that it'll go the way you want it to and if not... so what, moving on." he chuckled "I can't wait to see what our path when intertwined will look like. I only assume that it's going to be fun..." he patted her back before letting go. He looked backward to the town of beginnings, and let out a sigh before looking back forward towards Hakai. She may not "like" him as much as he likes her, but he knew with enough time... it would come.

This whole 'my queen' thing was getting a bit old pretty fast. She punched his shoulder. "Stop being so formal, just call me Hakai. Its not like i have authority over you or anything, and im certainly not about to start saying my king to you back." She followed his gaze back to the town of beginnings, wondering what his sighing was about. "I certainly hope it will be.  Life is pretty boring, even in a death game." She stated before reaching out to grab his hand. "Lets go somewhere. Find a dungeon or something, I dont know. We can test our team synergy by fighting together." She explained, gently pulling at his arm in the direction of the woods. Even though she didn't particularly feel for him she felt like she ought to act as though she did. They were together now, or so she thought. It was certainly a new experience for her. She tended to not get into real relationships.

Beatbox had giggled that it started to get on her nerves a bit, he was seeing how long it would take to necessarily annoy her, and with little time... he was successful. He laughed when she had punched his shoulder and said to her "I know Hakai, I only said it to see how easy you get annoyed. You look adorable when you are upset." he giggled. He listened to her speak on how life is necessarily boring and he kind of agrees with it... its pretty boring around here when you get to a certain amount of power. He smirked and said to her "We can at least make the best of it Hakai." he looked over when she had grabbed his hand and said to go find a dungeon or fight something to test their synergy. He smirked once more and said "Sure thing. I ain't got anything to do today." then in the back of his mind he had said to himself "Yeah... no sh** James..."

She ignored the blatantly obvious statement on his part, finding it cute how he was trying to be nonchalant about the whole affair. She let his hand go and started to walk into the forest. She really wasnt the sort of person that enjoyed lovey dovey actions like that, despite the fact that she had initiated it. She gripped her katanas hilt, prepared to unsheathe it at a moments notice. The action wasnt out of fear, it came from a more morbid desire. She wanted someone to attack them so that she would have an excuse to kill them. That was just about the only way that she could justify killing another player to herself, just because of her belief that they would need every poolayer they could get to continue going up in floors. It wasn't like players could have kids, so their population wasn't growing. Not that Hakai wanted to be stuck in this game for that long. That would be a nightmare, emerging from this game as an old lady. She shivered.

They remained silent for the next few moments, Beatbox felt kind of rather stupid for the words that had been exchanged in the past few moments as he felt like he just took it a little too far or forgot who he was talking to. Yes, he's happy that Hakai would stay next to him in this world... but a part of him feels as though he's setting himself up for something. He shook of his thoughts and accepted it as it were, he didn't care if he had changed in the near future, as long as Hakai and himself was happy in the long run, it would all be worth it to the end. This world was more of a nightmare to him than it was an actual game, sure he could dress as flashy and popstar-ish as he wanted... but the feeling of any moment and I can die really bothers him. He thought of the death of Sierra and the evil smile that he had and couldn't help himself but to shiver at the thought of the person he thinks that would turn to. He doesn't want to be seen as the bad guy.

They walked in silence for another while until Hakai stopped walking and put a finger to her lips thoughtfully before dropping her hand. "I could have sworn that there was a sub dungeon around here somewhere..." She stated, looking around intently. She turned back to Beatbox. "Whoops, my bad. Sometimes I lose my sense of direction. To tell the truth I have no clue whatsoever where that sub dungeon went." She paused, dropping her hand from her katana where it had been since they had started to search.  "I guess we're out of luck in terms of that. Sorry." She stated, motioning for Beatbox to lead the way. "I'll walk with you to wherever you plan to stay. We can hang out there or whatever. Maybe we can search for another sub dungeon later." She offered, giving him her trademarked smirk.
