[SP-F11] Wait, Low on Materials?! That's a first..

Recommended Posts

Itzal appeared on the eleventh floor, in the center of Taft.  Itzal sighed when he arrived.  With the unexpected update they had, materials now had tiers and all of his previous materials had become tier one.  Thus, for once, he was low on materials and needed to rush rush rush to gather much more.  He was betting that he'd be at this all freaking day but it would be worth it.  He needed the materials.  And who knows?  Maybe he would find some mithril today.  He had stumbled across some the day before in the seventh floor while looking for a dungeon for Hakai, which he found effortlessly of course.  Mithril.  The thought of it still sent chills up his spine.  The amount he found were two pieces the size of a pearl each.  A tiny pearl mind you.  He would need to gather a ridiculous amount of them before he had enough for a full set.  He wondered what he should make when he had enough.  Chainmail?  Full armor?  Maybe he and Jonathan should gather enough for the both of them.

OOC- Mithril is just for rp purposes, nothing special about it.  I'll be getting it whenever I roll a natural 20 or higher ^^

As he made his way through the town he looked up at the tower he typically climbed.  It was extremely high and provided Itzal with complete quiet.  It was the most peaceful, well one of the most peaceful places he knew.  He also helped Birdie get over her heights, if only slightly, up there.  Hopefully soon she'd get over it.  Indeed, Taft provided many memories for Itzal.  He had done a few randomly generated quests here, mainly helping out a small company...  Actually now that he thought about it, he had encountered two individuals that were npcs who knew he was a player and that they were, well, code.  Two powerful individuals too.  One was covered in black armor and the other a woman who was faster than even Itzal, and ten times stronger.  He thought carefully about those two, worried about what would happen if they encountered them again.  What purpose did they have in this world?  He spotted five dropped large coins that an npc must have dropped.  Since coins weren't currency, they counted as materials and he added them to his inventory.

After this he began to pass by the knights of the blood oath guild hall and paused to look at it.  It was tall, majestic, it looked like a castle fit for a king...  Which was why Itzal didn't like the guild overall.  There were individual players he liked, like Macradon and Baldur, but the guild overall he disliked.  They were prideful and did everything they could to increase what others thought of them.  They were boastful, and mainly cared about looks and appearance.  Even the commander he disliked.  The way he spoke to Baldur in that demeaning tone with the smirk.  Nobody should treat a fellow member that way.  And Itzal didn't like the idea of pride at all.  One should take pride in their own work of course, but the knights of the blood oath seemed to rub it in everyone's faces.  Not exactly the best guild to look up to as a role model he thought to himself.  Then he remembered a player who'd been kicked from the guild for a crime she committed.  Opal.

OOC- Dang it, of course I started this before I got Velnia XD

Opal was a player who had originally been in the knights of the blood oath.  But then she indirectly killed one or two players during a boss raid and thus was banned from the guild.  She did this because she intended to join the laughing coffin, not because she was a killer, but to gain their trust....  And destroy them from the inside.  After she became a member however everyone became hateful towards her.  She detached herself and intended to destroy the guild, and then seek and kill every red player in Aincrad, glad to accept any hate from other players so long as she killed them all.  She had no friends...  Well until Itzal found her.  After a few chat's and talks the two ended up becoming friends, despite their very different points of views.  Itzal smiled as he thought of how she warmed up to him and they had a very nice talk.  He noticed another four materials, this time them being five iron ores probably thought to be regular rocks and stored them in his inventory.

Indeed, Opal although cold at first impression, was a very nice person and Itzal was very much glad to have her as a friend and ally.  Of course until the laughing coffin was destroyed she made it clear he couldn't interact with her or she'd have to kill him.  Thus they'd pretend they weren't friends until they didn't need to fear spies lurking in the floors.  Itzal was a patient man however and this would not be a problem.  He sighed and was about to continue on when he spotted yet another five materials, sitting on top of a closed window up above.  He rushed up to the wall and began to scale.  He reached them and almost grabbed them when all of a sudden the windows opened and the materials flung out towards the street.  Itzal leaped from the window, startling npcs below, and managed to grab each crystal, storing them in his inventory, before landing and rolling on the surface of the road and walking on as if nothing happened.

The npcs in the town looked at him oddly for what he just pulled.  The guards would glance at him but were becoming more used to it.  As long as he didn't do anything harmful to someone they were fine.  Itzal caught a glance from a member of the knight's of the blood oath and worked hard not to roll his eyes.  They acted like this floor was theirs, which of course it wasn't.  Just because their guild hall was here didn't mean anything.  Itzal ignored the members and moved on, scanning for any other materials he could use.  He spotted some kids throwing more of the tiny iron ore at a man they were rudely making fun of.  Itzal hovered over them until they noticed his presence, screamed and ran, dropping four ores.  Itzal collected them, patted the man's shoulder with a friendly smile.

Itzal saw the gates in the distance, but he also saw the severely crowded streets.  He looked around and spotted stands dotting the edge of the main street.  Oh.  It was market day.  He sighed before putting up his hood and leaping onto a building wall, climbing up real quick and began to travel by rooftop, making sure to keep a low level as much as possible as he sped through the air.  As he leaped from building to building he noticed something.  There were five loose shingles on a rooftop and noticed a small sack where they lay.  He paused and examined it.  More iron ores.  He looked to his right and saw stairs to the rooftop.  So the kids kept their ammo here eh?  He took the sack and stored it in his inventory.  No doubt the children would be back soon for it.  Maybe he should teach them a lesson...

With their little stash removed Itzal hid behind a chimney and waited for them to arrive.  He heard movement and the npc children rush across the shingles then gasp and curse at the sight of no sack of throwable items.  They started getting angry and began swearing to harm whoever did this.  Itzal walked out from his hiding place, his hood still down.  "Alright then, give it a shot."  Two of the kids gasped, the other looked ashamed, and the final two charged forward.  Itzal was shorter than most guys his age so they thought they could take him.  They thought wrong.  Itzal took the first who threw a punch and grabbed the fist mid air, flicking the kid's nose.  The second who tried to punch him, Itzal dropped to the ground and swiped at the kid's legs with his own, causing him to fall over.  With that the kids ran off, no doubt ending their cruelty to the poor men on the streets.

Itzal made his way closer and closer to the town gate.  As he did so his detection mod notified him of a player on the opposite end of the street.  He switched his gaze over there and spotted a player in a knights of the blood oath styled outfit who was making his way across the ground and over to cut Itzal off.  Of course he thought.  Either this player was suspicious due to him running across rooftops with his hood up, or one of the other members asked him to shadow Itzal.  Either way he wasn't about to let this player slow him down.  He had materials and dungeons to find!  Itzal kicked up the pace and forgot about the gates.  He ran straight at the wall.  When he reached the edge of the roof he leaped with all his might and grabbed a hold of the edge of the wall.  The guards on top yelped in surprise and didn't have time to react as Itzal pushed himself up, jumped to the other side, and grabbed a hanging rope, swinging down to the solid ground below and made his way to find a hiding spot.

Itzal dashed into the forest and found a place to hide in the shadows.  He waited as the player came out and seemed to scan the area with his eyes before running down the edge of the forest.  If he needs to go along the sides to detect me then he probably doesn't have the detect mod just yet Itzal noted.  He turned and quickly made his way deeper into the forest, taking paths harder for most other players to get through since he had parkour and most did not.  He didn't look back, he didn't worry.  Soon he was deep in the forest and his digital map had gained a little more area.  As he slowed down and took it slowly through the forest he spotted a few berries that could be used for potions or cooking.  Personally he wanted to use them for cooking so he could get good food.  This made him think about his date with Kasier in the fancy restaurant.  That was a wonderful time he thought.

As he walked along the path he thought about their date.  Kasier had actually worn a dress and he was told to wear a Tux.  While he was a bit surprised by this, he was dazed by how beautiful she looked.  Granted she looked beautiful from the start but still.  Not to mention she had changed her hair color to blonde.  He thought it looked nice with her red eyes.  After they ordered some fancy french food they talked for a bit and then the food had arrived.  And boy was that food good.  It didn't look fancy, in fact it looked rather simple and dull.  But the flavor was above and beyond what he had hoped for.  He wanted some more to be honest.  After that he played a song or two on the piano for Kasier, who came over and lay on his shoulder...  Then he spotted a glimmer.  Was that.  Could it be?  He picked up the tiny shard of mithril as well as four steel materials.  Perhaps...  Perhaps he could make a Mithril ring.  For Kasier...  That would be his first choice.  However he doubted he'd need anything more than two or three Mithril.  He went ahead and stored it.

A ring...  Maybe.  He still had to see.  For now the Mithril would be collected as usual.  He thought for a moment.  A tiny shard the size of a pearl.  How many did he need for armor?  Of course that was assuming he knew what he wanted to get.  Did he want to use it for MIT armor?  Probably he thought.  If that were the case he needed to decide what kind of armor to use it for.  He'd need to think about it then make an estimate of how much mithril he'd need to gather.  He shook of the thought at the moment of course.  He needed to focus on finding materials and a dungeon.  As he made his way through the forest he thought he spotted something.  He pulled down four fruits.  Fruits that smelled like cakes for some reason.  The cakes reminded him of Adhae's bakery which started making him hungry.  Dang he could do with some pizza right now.

Adhae.  He hadn't seen her for a while but he did like her company.  She was sweet and nice, and she also made great food.  Alisa was a good cook too actually.  He'd like to have them make a feast for a party sometime but Adhae had been inactive and Alisa, well.  She left for some reason.  Still he knew she was fine as she was strong in heart and soul.  Adhae he believed was just hanging out, enjoying life in Aincrad.  There was nothing wrong with that but Itzal was too active, to energetic.  He couldn't just lie down and enjoy himself.  He had to physically do stuff.  Plus he enjoyed game combat anyways which was one of the reasons he entered this game in the first place.  He kept his eyes out for any other materials and wouldn't you know it, he spotted yet another four fruit.  He picked them from their spot and the smell once again made him hungry.  Which made him think about Velnia, his purple dragon who had died and he was currently trying to find.

Itzal and Velnia had a lot of fun when he had found her.  She didn't have enhancements but that wasn't really the point.  The point was she was company, someone to love as well.  She was a playful thing, always teasing with others, playing around, chasing rabbits, and the best part of all, she was the cutest thing he had ever met.  When he had Ariel make him a plush to help with his crafting he had it made as a purple dragon and entitled Velnia - Goddess of Cuteness.  It was perfect.  Then however she was killed.  It all started in that cave on the first floor.  He wanted to teach the wolves a lesson they'd never forget.  However he hadn't expected a warg to be leading them.  During the fight the creature ended up killing Velnia who tried to protect Itzal, and Ulises sort of took over, destroying the warg and the wolves decided to leave him alone from then on...  Until that other time at least.  He saw some more berries and picked them.

However there was one other time he had to put them back in his place.  During that time he tried to find Velnia and failed.  Kasier had joined him since she liked Velnia too.  She had only seen him once before though.  They ended up fighting another warg who took command and when the warg attempted to attack Kasier that's when Ulises took over agian.  And Kasier had seen it...  In fact Itzal wondered if it was Ulises' interference that caught Kasier's attention in the first place.  It was only after that event where she began talking to him in earnest.  Still...  Then he noticed something.  He spotted something through the leaves.  He activated reveal and was pleased to find that there was some sort of ruin building through the trees.  He forced his way through and investigated it.  The building was simple:  A dome shaped roof with columns supporting it.  When he reached it he saw a staircase that continued downward.  He smiled when he spotted it and marked it on both his digital and physical map.  Well, there was another one down.

With the dungeon found he began to make his way though the forest again to reach the town and head home.  Keeping his eyes out for materials along the way of course.  Materials split into tiers... Perhaps that would make his job easier as a scout.  He knew players like Beatbox could just destroy multiple enemies to gather materials but for everyone else, or people who just didn't have the time, this could be very useful for him.  Still, he needed materials either way.  For himself, for the guild, and to sell.  Hopefully players would be coming to his shop more often, but even if they didn't he needed to gather some materials, to craft items he could use.  Both healing songs, and debuffs.  Especially since he was able to craft songs that doubled the damage of status effects.  He paused as he saw empty song crystals and added them to his inventory.

As he thought about this he thought he heard movement.  He paused and looked around.  Whoever or whatever it was must be just under his detection range, which was very large so they must have made an accidental noise.  Snap of a branch or something.  He activated reveal and, although he spotted nobody, he did see the broken branch.  He narrowed his eyes as he was not alone.  He scaled a nearby tree real quick and began moving through the trees, trying to use the tree's shadow's to his advantage.  He scanned the area for whoever made the sound but got nothing.  He made sure his hood was still up and continued to move through the trees.  Finally his detection mod found someone at the edge of his vision.  He used his reveal mod and got a clear view of him.  He was wearing white and lined with red.  Dagnabit.  "I see you!  Who are you and why are you following me?"

The player gave up hiding and came into view.  Itzal leaped back onto the ground and made his way over, his weapon easily accessable.  The other player looked at him with an odd look.  "It's my duty to keep an eye on any suspicious players."  Itzal rolled his eyes, unseen of course due to the hood.  "And I suppose I'm suspicious due to my hood up?  It seems you have one too, save for your not using it right now."  The player shrugged.  "Either way I have a second duty:  Find dungeons and give them freely to other players.  Did you happen to find one?"  Itzal frowned and nodded.  "I have actually.  I turned it into a map and I plan on selling it."  "Selling maps for profit?"  "I need to make a living, and it's not as if it's a life or death situation.  If that's all you're here for then we're done."  He began to walk away, grabbing five fruits as he did so, inserting them into his inventory.

As he walked he could hear the other player begin to follow him.  "I see you're part of a guild, though I've never seen it before.  What guild are you a part of?"  It seemed he wasn't going to get away from this player.  However, he remembered Macradon and decided to give this player a chance.  He sighed.  "Celestial Ascendants.  We want to help train low level players so they can reach their goals.  We're not the most active right now as a guild, but we plan on doing so."  "Celestial Ascendants huh?  Well how about we compete?"  To this Itzal stopped and turned around.  The player had brown hair and orange eyes.  Odd.  "Compete?"  "You and I.  We could compete against each other.  We're both scouts after all.  And competing helps us get better does it not?"  Itzal thought for a moment.  The player spoke the truth...  He spotted five more song crystals and went ahead and gathered them.

He spotted four more where he already got some and added them to his inventory as well.  "What's your name?"  The man grinned.  "My username is QuickStrike.  Nice to meat you."  Itzal nodded.  "My name's Itzal.  Mind if I just call you Strike for short?"  The player smiled and nodded.  "I have no problem with that.  I have duties to attend to right now but perhaps another time?"  Itzal nodded and Strike waved goodbye and ran back to the town on the road.  Itzal watched him run in silence for a while until he couldn't see him, with reveal or detect....  Well this was an interesting turn of events.  A rival?  In the real world he had a rival, but that rival was, well.  More of an enemy than anything else.  The two had fought and fought and fought against each other for so long, every game he played Fearx was there.  It never ended.  It was a nightmare.  Maybe it would be good to have a friendly rival.
