Halcyon's Keep

Indoor+Anime+Landscape+%5BScenery+-+Back

A nice little humble abode for one to enjoy their first few meals. This was a shop designed to help those with a lack of col help with eating meals by one who understood their place. The scenery is designed to be a common restaurant theme to aid those whom feel slightly homesick back in the real world. This is used to serve as a general restaurant, serving as many kinds of food as one possibly can, attempting to leave none off of the menu. While it was built by the hands of one who is also learning, clear dedication and ambition can be visually seen as one enters.

The owner can be found usually back behind the bar area. While youthful, he will greet customers with a calm and welcoming tone. A small humble smile might be seen if one looks closely enough as well. While not there, he gladly takes orders as he has a stack of order forms followed by a ballot box next to it, where he can receive the orders.

"Welcome to the Keep. How may I help you today?"

"Let's try this out!" He declared as he dipped a few peanuts in sugar and salt, then hovered them over the water that was boiling to get the steam effect on them. After a few seconds, he would pluck out the peanuts and look to see that it was a little bit too wet from the boiling steam. Sure, they were edible, but not something he would expect himself or his customers to eat. They maybe can serve to be a snack later on, but that was about all that they were good for. Some of the peanuts went bad, so he had to scrap them and place them in the trash. It was not his day, but he was always ambitious. And whenever ambitious, he can never be stopped until he got the job done right. For now though, he decided to take a small rest before continuing trying to make snacks.

Trial 2, and he was ready to start the next batch of peanuts. Steamed peanuts was just a familiar food type of his, so it was common for him to make them when there was nothing else to do. So he would do the same exact thing he did yesterday, letting the water boil before he would slowly dip in a  few of the peanuts. As a result, he ended up getting out the same texture of peanuts in the same quality. If it did not work the first time, it was probably not a good idea to do it again. But Sey was not sure where specifically he was going wrong. Oh well, it provided him another snack for him to munch on. But he needed to see where exactly is the hole in his plan. Not now, naturally, he was done for now. It will be solved later on when he prepared to make them again.

And Sey would try once again, he waited for the exact time he felt like he could do it once again. Midnight. A perfect time to be trying anything. Tis time, he felt like he would get the job done with the peanuts, making them sweet and salty with a decent amount of texture. But he was too tired, and he waited and stayed up all for nothing as they would end up being far worse than ever. They were edible when they were made at the end of the attempts, but that was all they were. Not too much can be said about them but that they are awful. What more? They were unable to be preserved either, though one might barely be saved. So he would place his palms against the surface of the counter before falling down in exhaustion, not even able to care for he was too tired to care.

Time for some steamed peanuts! Sey knew he would get it on this shot? How so? He left it up to the flip of a coin, and he got it on heads. At this point, that was about all the hope he had left for being able to make this into something work enhancements. So with this, he found a new sense of confidence. Perhaps it was false however, since the peanuts were dipped too far in the water. Because of this unfortunate result, he was unable to progress any further. This seemed to be more of a waste of time if anything, but that was something he was unfortunately getting used to. For some reason, he felt himself learning more and more, though the price for this is unfortunately, a lot of materials being lost in the process. Worth it? In his case, since he had plenty, that was fine and dandy.

More and more would the steamed peanuts end up biting the bullet. These two were no different, he was rushing far too much in hopes of getting them to the point of success. As a result, he was not successful. But he was not going to ignore the words of the NPC, despite how crushing the results of this were, which was in this case truly crushing. But a day was more than enough time for him to get over it and try again. And for some reason, he felt like he was actually improving. This was definitely going to work, one way or another. Therefore, he was going to continue until he made the perfect steamed peanuts. Now he could understand what the makers of the original things did, and it also made him wonder why they only charged so little for what they do.

He waited for the exact moment in which he could start making the peanuts again. It was now his prized item, if he could make it that is. Who knows how they were going to end up this time though. But when he did it, it ended up the same way. It was getting to a point in which he thought it would have been far more productive to work on a different item. Fortunately, he had a different item on hold for him. It was something he could use for sure, considering the unfortunate results that he has been having recently. But the more he did this, the more he was gaining momentum to actually getting it down. For some reason, he was doing it at an extremely slow pace. Perhaps his luck was unfortunate, which was unheard of for him. But that was not the worst of things, at least he was lucky on the battlefield.

The peanuts were going to be made today whether they were in the best conditions, or in good ones. But Sey was determined to make something that was going to sell, and this was his chance now. He placed the peanuts over the boiling water once again to get them to have a steamy texture. Once that had been done, he would coat them a tiny amount before then placing them in bags. As a result, they ended up with a really good amount of texture. Sey could not locate a flaw in them yet, which was a devastatingly good sign for him. So with this in mind, he would pop one into his mouth to see the result. And much to his pleasment, it was the perfect result he was aiming for. This was the first item he had confidence in placing onto his shelf for customers to buy.

There was a deal made through a PM with his client. In exchange for the best he could offer from his shop, he would receive things to help him out with the things needed for the future of his shop. That was all. This was a negotiation that seemed limited on his part, but was extremely useful. His client was very well known for her work and business, so she clearly had experience. Now to impress her with his end of the deal. Now that he knew how to make some desserts, he would aim to satisfy what his customer wanted by making some deserts. It was Rum Cake, an interesting time of recipe. It was better how he was making a Tiramisu cake as well, a very sweet dessert. But this one would have rum placed in it, making sure to satisfy the taste of the one who wanted it. Once that had been done, he would leave it in the oven for a while, making another dessert in the meantime for fun in his freetime. Once the Rum Tiramisu has been made, he would bring it out from the oven, and as a result, it was a perfect cake. Already, he was holding up his end of the deal.

Jonathan entered the snowhaired players shop, which was nice and very humble. He smiled as he seen the character. It had not been long since the last they seen eachother, and they finished a very large quest, and now they were both much stronger. "Hey there Sey! I figured I would be your customer today. You see, I am about to take the <<Feeding the Enemy>> quest, and I need to increase my loot dice as much as possible. So, I am going to order THIS from YOU" Jonathan placed the slip down on the table. It was a request for a perfect item, but he felt like the man should be able to handle it. If not then, he would keep trying. This was a test of perseverance. With a smile and a quick set down of six hundred col, Jonathan moved to a chair and sat down, waiting for his snack to become finished. It should be quite easy.

"Sure dude! Leave it to me! Though expect it to take a little bit, all right? If you hang on tight, I'll have your little Angel Bar ready." He promised before beginning to cook up a meal, prepared to make this a delicious recipe. Two people he needed to handle now at once, and considering he just got a fresh supply of materials to work with, he was going to have a much better chance of at least having one of them happy with the order he will make for them. And so he would begin... But to no avail this time. The meals were not too good, and he was not going to have anyone eating whatever the heck he made. So he would scrap them, prepared to make some more at a later date, rather than now. It was time he went to sleep, it was getting far too dark now.

Sey would begin by making one of the two order, mixing the herbs and the rum to see what kind of bliss results he would get out of it. Perhaps he could get really lucky or something really awful. But he was growing up quickly. This was allowing him to gain some experience and soon, be able to provide materials for the frontlines to use. Currently, he was not the best chef, which was understandable right now. He did not mind it honestly, but it did not mean that he could not change that later on in the future. But as he tried he did not get so much out of it. He ended up getting more failure in all honesty, which was not too good for him. Oh well, at least he ended up getting something out of it, but something was not enough for the orders needed to be handled.

Sey would lay out the materials, prepared to use them to make sure that they would end up being a cake. Or perhaps that little angel bar that he needed to make for the tank of the guild that he was going to be apart of. Placing his hands onto the tools, he would proceed to make the meals that he needed to. He felt lucky today, but one will not know until the attempts were made. So he would begin, preferably with the angel bar first so that he would be able to get that out of the way. Looking towards the side, he would end up taking a breath as he looked to see that it was night time outside. It was late, and no one was hear with the exception of someone who was not quite a customer. Well, they ate here for free, but that was about it. And he was not able to supply her with meals for free either. With that done though, he would begin to execute the tasks.

More cooking! Time to cook again! That was the only place he was able to do this sort of thing on his own and no one would be able to judge him for it. There were a few things that he needed to do in the process of doing this, but he had a material set ready for him now. And today, he seemed to be doing a really good job! But that was about it, none of the job was perfect at all. Meaning that despite working really hard to try and make the orders correctly, he was unable to do that. And he was not going to risk going for less than what the people wanted, so he was going to have to make them wait a bit longer, which was not what he wanted at all, but he had no other choice. So with that, he would conclude his day with a pretty good note, but it could be better.

It was a bad idea to anger those who were going to pay if he kept on making them wait. One of his customers have been handled, but now it was time to handle the other one. It was going to require all of his focus, but he will try the other attempts to see if he got lucky. But one of them, he would most certainly focus on one of the materials to make sure that he ended up getting it to end up strongly making one of the cakes that he was aiming for. The Tier item that he was going to sell to the customer later on in the future, it as part of their deal at the end of the day. With that in mind, he would end up placing his palms in his pockets as he would let the cake bake. It was a blissful sight, a little tiramisu cake. And he placed it with rum. There was not too much for him to do with the materials that he had been given. It was a little hard to get the perfect item down, but he was going to try to get two down a the same time. It was possible if he put his mind to it, but hopefully it would not take too long. So with this, he would make this attempt as he would continue to bake a few cakes at the same time. But it was not going to end up well as one might have expected. Some came out all right if not most, one seemed pretty decent, and one of them was just doomed beyond repair. It did not seem like he could do too much with them, well, maybe one of them. They seemed to have a slot, so maybe it would be best for him to use it. But he figured it could be done for a later time.

Sey learned his lesson from the last little cooking session that he had. He needed to focus on only one of the items at a time. In doing this, he would obtain at least one perfect item so that he would be able to hold up his end of the bargain with the one that he had been working for now. They promised him a good lump sum if he could make it, which motivated him to keep making the items. These were coming up now. Placing the cakes into the oven, he would then provide this specific customer the first custom nightmare cake. All sorts of liquor went to it to make it a heavily alcoholic drink, so hopefully they would like the end results of what it could do. Once the cake was done, he would bring it out and begin to make it presentable to the players.

He was coming to near the end when it came to his materials. Which meant that he was probably going to have to stall and get the materials himself in another hunt, one in which he will not be giving any of them away. It was heavily needed to have a profession, and had he known it before he'd stick his payments to the previous col that he was able to use back in the past. But that was a bliss fantasy that he was unable to take back. There was a reason why he got the gatherer skill anyways, so now all he had to do was get up and go. It was as simple as that. Placing the materials down, he would begin to bake, though to no avail unfortunately as there were barely any results from the crafts, showing no results in any way for him to make progress.

This was when he would run out of the materials that he oh so desired, resulting in a lot of nothing obtained after today. So he would have to find them a bit later, but this could serve to be a little bit of a problem since the people he had orders for would have to wait a little bit before he could continue on. Oh well, at least Gatherer gave him a small advantage, lesson learned, but something that could be easily fixed. Perhaps he could charge materials as well, but that does go against what he was aiming for in the first place. On top of that, it would make the skill he obtained useless, he just needed to avoid being lazy. Oh well, at least he put all of his effort into the cakes, and one of them ended up being the result he was aiming for.
