"Dannnnggggg.... " Damien got up, rather sad that his strike had not succeeded. But now that the boar and Damien were both close together,a hit would be slightly more difficult to dodge for the boar, Damien had figured. 

And indeed, Damien was right. His blade swiftly slid right through the boar, sending it backwards with a small cry coming out of it. The <<Boar Pup>> then proceeded to make a noise, a not nice sounding one. One that sounded very, very angry. It stepped back a few feet, before charging forwards at a high speed. 

Damien didn't have to even dodge the obvious attack, however. The <<Boar Pup>> wasn't paying much attention to the ground around it, and tripped on a rock, landing in the mud. The rain was still pounding down just as it had with the last two boars. Like I said earlier, I enjoy the rain. It energizes me.

The <<Boar Pup>> struggled to get back up off the muddy ground before Damien could hit it, and fell down one or two times in the very slippery mud. Eventually, though, the boar was able to get back up. If anything, the <<Boar Pup>> just looked much more angry. Its face told Damien: I'm gonna bite your face off. And Damien's look back was simply a smile, as he knew this <<Boar Pup>>, as with all the other <<Boar Pups>> he had fought, would not be able to deal any real damage to him. That is, damage he wouldn't be able to restore in a matter of a minute or so with his battle healing skill.

The two both ran at each other once more, but neither was able to land a good hit as they both attempted to dodge the others attack. Damien still did not quite understand why his body wanted him to dodge the <<Boar Pup>>'s attacks, as like we had just discussed, it would deal no real damage to him.

Damien looked up at the clouds. Not to far from right above, Damien could see a lighter patch of clouds, which was more than likely coming the direction towards the Town of Beginnings. (In which Damien was just outside of the gate.) So the rain would probably be over soon, so Damien hoped he will have killed these <<Boar Pups>> and obtained his materials to give to Lyle Tealeaf by the time this(the rain) was over. It's no fun standing outside covered in rain then the sun coming out, it was just an odd feeling.

Damien held his sword out and charged the boar just as he did last time, as the boar did the same. The time, rather than them both dodging, they(both Damien and the boar) took the other ones hit. They both landed pretty nice hits on each other, Damien dealing another point of damage to the boar and the boar dealing another three that was just going to be healed back up.

The previous hit caused both Damien and the <<Boar Pup>> to fall back, Damien almost tripping on a rock. Just barely not doing so. Damien looked back at the boar with a smirk as he charged it again, engaging in the same exact form the two (Damien + <<Boar Pup>>) had the last two engagements. 

This time, though, Damien was able to dodge the enemies attack while still hitting the <<Boar Pup>>, sending it backwards whining. It apparently couldn't see very from the rain very well either, because the next thing it did was attempt a ram attack at Damien. Instead, though, the <<Boar Pup>> went running itself into a tree, which it must've thought was indeed Damien. (Which, in fact, Damien was not a tree. ) Damien chuckled a bit in his head, as he wiped both the sweat and the rain off of his eyes. "I'm over here, just so you know!" Damien said to the boar, hoping to help it direct it's aim, but while Damien would then strike at it when it came near for its next attack.

Hearing Damien's voice, the <<Boar Pup>> immediately looked over to him, and snorted a bit. It began to charge at him, and Damien simply moved out of the way, as the boar was still weak from hitting the tree. Damien could imagine how much that could've hurt, but it didn't deal any health point damage to the boar, sadly. Damien saw that while watching the <<Boar Pup's>> health point bar when it originally did ram into the tree.

Damien looked at his own health point bar. It was still full and green like it had been for the past few turns. But Damien knew he had to defeat this <<Boar Pup>> as quickly as he could so he could hurry up and get the materials to Lyle who would hopefully have a reward for Damien that he most desperately desired. Being the last person, Zakariah, had been an alchemist and gave him potions, Damien figured it would be the same type of thing with Lyle, and he would give Damien some type of smithery stuff.

Damien looked at the pig. To be honest, the small little harmless thing was kinda cute. Especially when it got angry at Damien. Damien wouldn't mind having one as a small pet, and he had found a quest somewhere that included taming a wild monster/animal to be your pet. Strangely, Damien was genuinely wondering if he could tame one of these little <<Boar Pups>>, but he figured it was unlikely that he would end up taming one.Eh, wasn't a big deal at the moment though, because all Damien had to worry about was finishing off this one small and agile <<Boar Pup>>. 

But as Damien continued looking at the little <<Boar Pup>>, he began wondering if perhaps it would make a good running/jogging buddy. That would be totally awesome, at least Damien thought so. Without further ado, Damien charged at the thing once more, hopefully for a finishing blow. Sadly, though, the <<Boar Pup>> was able to find some way to evade the attack, although Damien did not quite understand how.

Damien looked back up to see the clouds, as the rain was starting to come down at a slower pace and in slightly smaller drops. Damien looked around the surroundings. The clouds appeared to be moving away from the path that went outside of The Town of Beginnings and the rain was headed towards a different town further down the same path. 

Before Damien could look back down at the <<Boar Pup>>, it was above him, then tackling him. Just like with the past <<Boar Pup>>, Damien struggled a bit but eventually was able to flip the small <<Boar Pup>> off of him. "You really do not quit, do you? I like that. Even though you know you can't do it, you keep trying to show people that you can. Even though, in this situation, it literally is impossible. In Sword Art Online, it is true that some things are impossible. One of the sadder aspects of the game, you know? Eh, you don't know... After all, all you are is a an NPC I guess...."

Damien ran at the boar, sword outstretched, and landed a good hit. The <<Boar Pup>> whined as all the other Boar Pups had, but then disappeared behind a wall of crystal shards floating in the air. But when the loot screen came up, Damien frowned. He had not gotten another <<Boar Pup Tusk>> as he needed for the task. Dang... Time to go find some more mobs. I mean, it's not like I have any other plans for today or any other day in this game of Sword Art Online. I don't even have to plan on eating. Hakuna Matata. no worries for the rest of my days, I guess. 

Damien began to look around for his next boar. "Come one come all! I got all day for this. Show me what you got, you little boar puppies!" Damien looked around again and noticed one not too far away giving Damien a different look than what the past four boars had. "What? You not like my hair or something? " Damien held out his sword as he looked at the boar. "I can do this all day."

The rain began to slow down even more, leaving only sprinkling in it's remnants as the area slowly grew lighter. "Can we just get this over with, please?" Then Damien began to think. Maybe the game wanted him to try to enjoy this combat fighting. Aincrad wanted him to at least try a bit harder to enjoy it. Damien looked over at the <<Boar Pup>> again, as it still continue to stare at him with that odd expression. Damien repeated the same, angry like expression back at the boar. If you were a real animal, there would be no way I would ever kill you. But, after all, you are just an NPC. There is no mind there. Time for you to witness my blade. Damien flipped his sword in the air, before somehow successfully catching it. "Are you ready?"

But when Damien charged at the boar to attempt to attack it, he found that the <<Boar Pup>> was indeed prepared for the hit that was to come. Before Damien could hit it with the blade, it rammed right into his gut, sending him backwards.

The hit from the boar sent Damien stepping backwards, which then led to him slipping and falling in the mud. His head banged onto the dirt which of course did not deal any damage or felt like it hurt, but Damien's mind was thinking it hurt. Damien got back up as fast as he could and held his blade back in his hand. "Oh no, I ain't finished with you yet." Damien watched as his health point bar healed fully once again. 

But as Damien swiped at the <<Boar Pup>> with his sword, the monster had found some way of knocking the sword from hitting him, probably with it's tusks, and sent it out of Damien hands, which of course were muddy and had trouble holding the sword in the first place. "Come on. How many of you guys am I gonna have to kill till i get my last <<Boar Pup Tusk? Like seriously, come on guys. Give me something. " Damien went over to his sword and picked it back up.

With this, Damien began thinking about how he was ever gonna help clear boss fights. Well, he was not planning on doing it any time soon that was. He didn't possess enough points in damage to actually hurt these boars at all. Heck, they were not even boars. They were <<Boar Pups>>. But that was Damien's plan, of course, to insert more points into his weapon skill as soon as he finished this quest. And hopefully Lyle Tealeaf was going to give him some sort of weapon or something. Damien wasn't going to object to that one. He could definitely use it, and as Damien had heard this was a three part quest he did not know what to expect on the next quest part. Maybe a plus damage weapon could help with that quest? Who knows, but Damien did know it could help with several others. 

Damien turned his attention back to the <<Boar Pup>>.

The <<Boar Pup>> charged at Damien at a rather fast pace, but Damien had seen that same attack enough for one day. The <<Boar Pup's>> little legs were very quick for the size of the boar, Damien had to admit. It was rather fun just watching the boar charge at him. 

But Damien began to ponder about other things... Like the real world. Damien had yet to wonder whatsoever what his parents were thinking about him being stuck in here. Heck, he knew he should be very glad that his parents had not attempted to rip the Nerve Gear off of him and killed him. It was a good thing they heard and actually followed the warning. 

Oh man, but the art museum Damien visited weekly, Damien hoped that would still be there when and if he returned to the real world. That was one of the only places that kept him sane.

But, that was only, indeed, if Damien did make it back to the real world. Of course, Damien thought he would not die in this game. Never in any part of his mind was there any thought of him dying. But Damien did know it was completely possible that they would not finish the game and surpass floor 100. The likeliness of them actually making it any where close to floor 100 was very very very minimal, at best. Damien was interested in what kind of boss guarded the last room, having no idea what the creator could possibly have chosen for such an amazing role. 

But Damien did not just want to witness the floor 100 boss. He wanted to see all of the next bosses to come. But for that to happen, Damien was going to have to rise the ranks pretty dang quick for him to actually get up there before the next boss fight. 

Damien turned his attention back to the boar. "And you sir, you little <<Boar Pup>>, are simply an obstacle placed strategically to serve on purpose. To get me to the front lines." He smiled at that, and again ran at the <<Boar Pup>> with his <<Iron Curved Sword>> held tightly in his left hand.

The boar squealed loudly, seeing the incoming player. It quickly ran to the side of Damien, in a position where it was physically impossible for him to hit the <<Boar Pup>> from the angle. The slash missed, of course, due to the evasive actions of the <<Boar Pup>>. "How are you guys so dang fast? Why are you guys so fast?" Had the developers designed it to be this way, or did Damien just have super bad luck at everything? Or just plain out both? The world may never know. 

Now that the boar and Damien were engaged in close combat once again, it was time for Damien to land a good hit. Damien lifted his <<Iron Curved Sword>> up, to prepare to slam it down onto the <<Boar Pup>>.

The boar was not going to accept a blow like that, though. Before the tip of the blade could land on the <<Boar Pup>>, it quickly jabbed its tusks forward at Damien, knocking him down for the millionth time that day. "I have got to stop letting you <<Boar Pups>> do that, ugh."

Damien got up, and looked at the <<Boar Pup>> again, as his health bar healed itself another time. Since the boar didn't seem to be minding much for a moment, as it simply walked around like a mindless <<Boar Pup>>, Damien took the chance to think about his build and what skill points he was gonna input where in the future. 

Of course, the next skill Damien planned on inputting in was his one handed curved sword skill, in which Damien felt he should have inputted in way before putting any into battle healing so he wouldn't have had to be in his current situation. But after that... The path Damien would took was unclear.

He could get a rank in Katana, so he would be able to use a different type of sword art. But he didn't quite feel like a two handed weapon was his thing. Damien knew he could also just keep increasing his curved sword and battle healing skills until they were maxed out and he would still have a lot of slots available to use. Damien also knew his utility skill choices, knowing he could get the Gatherer or Search and Detect skills to help with what he had to do on the last quest, making it a lot easier.

Damien had went at the enemy <<Boar Pup>> with another slash-like attack. This time- for the first time in awhile, surprisingly-his attack actually landed and happened to deal critical damage to the boar. After being hit, the <<Boar Pup>> emitted a loud whining sound. "Oh come on now, you're hurting my ears." Damien looked eagerly at the boar. And now I am gonna finish you and this quest off, ya hear? 

Damien ran at the boar, slashing an upward angled to the right strike. The upward slash attack landed perfectly, bringing about another critical hit upon the <<Boar Pup>>. This ended the <<Boar Pup>>, sending it into a squealing fit as it had with all of the other <<Boar Pups>>. Damien watched as it poofed into tons of crystals and waited for the loot screen to pop up. When it finally did, Damien found himself staring at it for a while, before angrily closing it. Oh come on, are you meaning I have to fight another one of those things????

Oh by golly.... I have a feeling the skill point reward for this quest is going to be slightly more than the previous one, at least. Well, I hope so. Maybe even a bigger Col reward.  The sun was now burning down on Aincrad, and Damien's light cloth clothing, still damp from the rain, felt like they were weighing him down. The mud on the ground was very slippery and no where near getting dried. Puddles could be seen in the grass. 

Part of Damien wanted to simply just go jump around in the puddles rather than just fight <<Boar Pups>>, because surprising this grinding combat was getting very tiring. But then again, that was what the long grind to the front lines would require, as soon as Damien could actually finish this beginner tutorial like quest. 

It was not much longer before Damien found his eyesight on yet another <<Boar Pup>>. This time, though, it was rather obvious that the boar did not know Damien was there. Okay, gotta sneak up there and strike him with a surprise attack now.

Damien charged at the boar, his quick and long stride getting him close perimeter in seconds. Damien then continued to slash his blade at the <<Boar Pup>>, in an upward strike curving more towards the left. 

Damien wasn't so sure about the curved blade he had been using, which was the only reason he was glad he hadn't put any skill points into the sword. If this quest did grant him a new weapon, however, Damien was going to need to hurry up and come up with an idea for what weapon he was going to use. Hmmm....

While Damien was lost in thought, debating which skill points to put where, The <<Boar Pup>> took the distraction as a chance to strike at Damien. The boar managed to ram right into Damien, knocking him back into the situation in his hands. However, though, this boar pup was unable to knock Damien over as the previous <<Boar Pups>> had. Damien thought to himself, Maybe it was just muscle memory?

Damien was always hearing other people talk about their 'muscle memory' and how people got used to jogging and lifting and such, being he was a track/cross country runner and a power lifter. Damien, however, was never able to get used to either without pain, even though he ran once to twice a day and also tried to lift once to twice a day. It just never really seemed to get registered in his mind no matter how many times and how long he did it for, apparently. 

Damien's attention shifted back to the <<Boar Pup>>. "Hey could you do me a small favor bro? When you die, could you please make sure you leave me some sort of tusk? Otherwise your death will be in vain and I'll just go kill more of your friend <<Boar Pups>>. After all, it does not matter. You guys are just NPC monsters anyways." Damien thought for a moment after calling the <<Boar Pup>> a bro, though. Wait is this even a guy <<Boar Pup>>? Eh, guess it doesn't really make a difference.

Damien sliced his (neon green shining) <<Iron Curved Sword>> at the boar, and managed to land another good, clean hit, resulting in the <<Boar Pup's>> health bar falling almost half way. This boar, though, was much louder than the other few <<Boar Pups>>. The squeal that came from it caused Damien to bend a knee into the mud so he could fully cover his ears from the sound. The mud, as wet as it was, left Damien's clothing even dirtier than it was before. Eh, I am due to go buy some more clothes soon anyways. Maybe with the col from this quest I could go out shopping by some tailor shops...  Damien then turned his attention once again to something different. These <<Boar Pups>> certainly were not keeping his attention very well.

Damien began to think about professions, and the Earning a Living quest. Would he take it? Damien didn't know. Probably not so much craft things. Damien knew he could take the quest to open, say, a blacksmith to sell items he just finds in the wild, as well as craft himself some gear while he was at it. But was that what Damien really wanted?
