Alice 0 Posted January 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) Having done some research on one of the quests that were more suited to level, it certainly seemed safer if she took it on with an extra party member or two. With the gear that she had gotten from the best blacksmiths she knew, which wasn't many, she had posted a sign on the request board on the third floor. She had done this once before and, while the odds were always unknown with a new group, she had a great experience with something new. [Looking for party of two to take on the quest <<Secret Medicine of the Forest>>. No level requirement, but must understand the dangers associated with the quest.] It was simple and to the point, allowing her to have no everlasting guilt if someone could not hold their own. After all, she didn't have the first aid skill, which both of the members in her previous party did. However, from the looks of it, this quest didn't have much danger. She was pretty confident that she could take care of it herself, but backup was always a nice contingency plan. @Damien @Takeshi Spoiler <<Worn Out Welcome>> This quest takes place on Floor 3 This quest is repeatable for item onlyThis RP will not count in the benchmark The master NPC Armorsmiths Griswold, and his wife Hanna, have opened his services to new players of SAO a custom armor shop. He takes orders for no price, but instead asks for materials. That's right. YOU, the player, have to tell Griswold what kind of armor you want. He'll give you the material names and how to get them, and it's up to you to retrieve them. Entering the shop on Floor 3, you encounter a surly smith and his loving wife. After describing the type of armor you desire (Cloth, Leather, Light Metal, or Heavy Metal) Griswold works with you to determine the right type of material, before sending you on your way to collect the needed materials. Upon returning with the correct materials in the proper quantities, Griswold and Hanna will create your very own set of Uncommon Armor. These materials can be found from fighting a dark elf in the Forest of Wavering Mists. Takeshi 0 Posted January 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) Looking for a quest is easy, but finding one that is suitable for solo players is the problem for Takeshi, especially when he himself is a lone warrior. A lot of them emphasizes teamwork in the world of Aincrad, something that is very important in order to survive adventures. If Riki were alive, he would have invited him immediately for a journey to a dungeon or a new level. Ever since he was gone, Takeshi has trouble of making new friends, even within his own gang. He is about to walk towards the entrance of the city when he notices a bulletin board. Among the rules and tips pinned there, he catches a glimpse of a request posted by a player named @Alice. The quest looks pretty simple to carry out, though he wishes for a more challenging one. Regardless he accepts it in his heart and heads outside, wondering if the poster is waiting there. When he steps out of the archway, he takes out a cigarette from his pocket and lights it up, blowing out a big smoke in silence. Edited January 25, 2017 by Takeshi
Damien 0 Posted January 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) Damien had been viewing a rather low leveled player request board again. This was the best way for Damien to find people in need of parties, and questing always seemed much less boring and so much easier with more people. Damien knew from firsthand experience. So of course, he wanted to take a break from the soloing and go find some people to go on a quest with. Upon viewing this quest board, Damien had found a request posted by a player that went by the name of Alice. The request called for two players to help her go on a quest called <<Worn Out Welcome>>, a beginner class quest. The title didn't sound too boring, but then again none of the quests he had already done sounded boring. That's just what ended up happening. Damien looked around for the original poster of the request. Damien strangely did now how to find the post requester, which was going to make this so much more difficult. Hmmm... Now where is this Alice? @Alice Your turn Edited January 25, 2017 by Damien
Alice 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 30, 2017 [OOC: Apologies, had some IRL stuff. Edited what we talked about in PMs.] While Alice had expected to be sitting around a while, it hadn't taken quite as long as her first usage of the player request board just a few floors down. Heck, in her last attempt, a third party member was only possible when she called up a friend. This time around, it looked like two players had already shown some interest, though one had rounded the corner and escaped her sight for the meantime. As for the other, he appeared to be looking for the source of the request; his answer casually walking up to him, "Good morning, I'm Alice. Nice to meet you. Might you be interested in the request about the <<Worn Out Welcome>> quest?" It was rather obvious she was either the poster or a fellow player looking to join in, but she expected him to assume the former. Awaiting his own introduction in return as well as an affirmative answer, she would proceed with her only concern, "If it isn't too much a hassle, I would like to pick up another player. One passed by just a moment ago showing such interest as yourself."
Takeshi 0 Posted January 30, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Hearing your question and introduction, Takeshi automatically assumes that the blonde warrior, Alice, is indeed the poster of the request for assistance. Noting her face and armor or clothing she is wearing, he gives her a clear nod as he blows out another smoke, speaking in a soft voice despite his fierce expression, "Takeshi. Call me Takeshi..." He swipes his fingers down and brings up the inventory, thinking that it is probably time to go soon. He equips his set of chainmail armor and dons the paddings and the chainmail itself, only donning his great helmet as soon as he manages to fit his afro hair into the steel component. He looks at Alice through the slits and equips his sword and shield, the former remain sheathed in his sword belt. He drops the lit cigarette he is holding prior to wearing his armor and extinguishes it with his foot. "Anyone else is tagging along?" He asks as he looks at his left, catching a glimpse of another male player. A team of three people doesn't seem so bad, though the rewards may be smaller. His biggest concern, though, is to find as many materials as he can to keep his store running. @Damien Edited January 30, 2017 by Takeshi
Damien 0 Posted January 30, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Damien had no idea how he was going to find the poster of the request until he carefully read the request post, where it did indeed state where they would be. Damien felt like an idiot, completely overlooking that upon reading it the first time and not attempting to find it again, because if these requests didn't say where they could be found at obviously no one would take them. Finding the location of the player who posted the quest, <<Alice>>(Well, who he assumed to be Alice), was with another player with a cigarette in his mouth. Ugh. As he watches, the player then lets out the cigarette onto the ground and steps on it. Oh please tell me this is not someone I am questing with.... Why the hell would anyone smoke in Aincrad? If anything, Aincrad would let you out of an addiction to cigarettes or something like that, but.... Eh, as long as he doesn't smoke while I'm here, then we'll be fine. "Ummm.... Hello? Are you <<Alice>>, the player who requested a party to go on <<Worn Out Welcome>>?" Damien did not spare a glance at the other smoking player as he talked to Alice. Damien had seen enough people die from cancer obtained through tobacco in the real world. @Alice Edited January 30, 2017 by Damien
Alice 0 Posted February 5, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) ((Alice was originally addressing Damien since Takeshi had stepped away from the board, but whatevs, I'll go with it.)) It appeared as if he was interested in joining, "Great, thank you for your cooperation. I'm sure this will go smoothly." He would go ahead and proceed with the standard preparation of equipping armor and weaponry, but finally throwing away that god forsaken cigarette. She understood that people in the real world had grown unhealthy addictions to it and it was something terribly difficult to quit, yet continuing to do so in a game where it derives no bodily function whatsoever was quite perturbing. However, what bothered her most was the very simple question of if someone else would be joining them. Not just a mere moments before, she had clearly asked for his patience in awaiting another member to join the party on this venture. Before letting out a dissatisfied sigh, her request would resolve in a peaceful conclusion as the other curious looking player from before interrupted, "Indeed, you're more than welcome to join us." She gave a slight gesture to the other player to signify his participation, "As you already know, I'm Alice, and this here is Takeshi. If the two of you are ready to make haste, we should be able to complete this quest by the top of the hour. Are both of you ready?" Edited February 5, 2017 by Alice
Takeshi 0 Posted February 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) Readying for the adventure, Takeshi gives Alice a respectful nod as he clearly says, "Lead the way." Wondering where you would be going, the only unique location he could ever think of right now is the tree house spot in the Forest of Wandering Mist. To this day, the isolated buildings give him a bit of the willies, especially after discovering that it used to belong to a disturbing cult with a holy religion as its 'front cover.' He moves ahead a little as he plans to slow down today, letting Alice walking up front while maintaining his guard. The worst thing he can ever expect would be a sudden ambush from skillful, orange players, especially when they are at high levels. In fact, he really doesn't want to fight players unless they are either total assh**es to him or they are consent at fighting him. He isn't fully the cold blooded killer he used to be. Looking at Alice and Damien only made him feel a little miserable at the fact that he lost most of his friends. Regardless, he tries hard to push such thoughts away as he focuses on continuing today's journey. There seems to be a foreboding tower of some sort at a distance. @Damien Edited February 5, 2017 by Takeshi
Damien 0 Posted February 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Oh yeah, I'm definitely ready. "Definitely!" Damien sad in response to Alice's question as to if they were ready or not. If this quest was going to be completed in less than an hour, that meant he could spend less time with the smoking player and get skill points faster, and he was fine with that. What the fudge is wrong with this guy? He's literally smoking.... In a virtual reality game... Gawd why are some people just so stupid.... The previously smoking player, Takeshi, then told Alice to lead the way. What have I gotten myself into... Just don't say anything about it. Damien shook his head as he looked up from formerly looking at the ground. "So, which way are we heading?" Damien spoke directly to Alice. Hopefully Damien, being the level he was, wouldn't have too difficult a time defeating the <<Dark Elf>>. He had not yet taken the chance to look for the things stats anywhere, but being the recommended level was three Damien figured he shouldn't be worried in the slightest. @Alice
