F1-Rank 3-Merchant <<Shadowed Wares>>

Recommended Posts

<<Shadowed Wares>>

On Floor One, lies a completely back building. There are no windows visible, only a black door, easily visible from the white lettered words that lay above it. Shadowed Wares. As you walk in and the door shuts behind you, you find that all around is almost completely dark. The shop is only to be lit by a few candles. You should be able to see a few racks to the left of you with items that the merchant has found hidden enhancements lie on. To the right holds a few basic items, also available for purchase. Directly in front of the customer is a counter. The only light reaching this area of the shop is from a overhead blacklight, still making it yet hard to see. Standing behind the counter is a small cloaked figure. The voice is feminine and it only speaks a few words at first. "Welcome, what could I do for you?" You see behind the figure lies more items. And another door.

The rarity of the item determines how many potential enhancements can be identified, just as regular item rarity functions:

  • Uncommon: 1 slot
  • Rare: 2 slots
  • Perfect: 3 slots

In the event that an identified enhancement would result in an illegal item (following normal enhancement rules), the Merchant should re-roll the LD and make note of all rolls when submitting the item for evaluation.

Hidden started her craft as soon as she was ready for business. She took her first item out and started the appraising the item. It was a piece of leather armor. She smiled at it and tapped it. A few options popped up and she smiled. She clicked the appraisal button and it loaded for a second. The room around her was dark and quiet, just as she liked it. A notification popped up in front of her face, notifying her that nothing had been found, but it still was a possibility. She still had one more craft for the day. She could try.... She clicked the same buttons again, and this time she got some results. It appeared that the item she held in her hands had a recovery enhancement embedded in it. There could still possibly be more, but she would not be able to find anything out until tomorrow. She could feel the weariness over her body just from those few clicks.

It was finally a new day! Hidden had been waiting for what seemed like forever to continue her work. She enjoyed it, Sey had helped her a lot, she even liked the way her shop looked. She arose from her house like room in her shop. Seen from the front door, behind the counter was another door. Inside it was a little house. A Bedroll was there, along with everything a house could possibly need. She had no kitchen, but if she needed food, she could go and see Sey. He had lots of vanity items. She exited her "room" and stepped into the dark room of her shop. It felt a few degrees colder. Her room was not this dark, but it certainly was not bright. Just enough to see around. She crabbed the Leather Armor she had worked on Yesterday and tapped it. Yesterday, she had found one enhancement. Today, she might just find out if it had two or three. It was never locked. She tapped the appraise button. At first it was a retry, but her second time proved that there was yet another enhancement. Thorns.

Hidden stepped into the dark shop once again, feeling good about what the day had to offer. She stepped into her shop and grabbed the  Leather armor one last time, ensuring that she did not touch its thorns. She tapped it, and her few options popped up. She happily clicked the trade button and waited a fee seconds. She heard a sharp, deep noise and her appraisal failed. She sighed and put the item on the shelf now. There was nothing left on that item. She sighed and picked up another item. It was also a piece of light armor. Instead, it was a coat. She shrugged and tried it out again, tapping. This time, she also succeeded in finding something. It appeared to have, mitigation upon it! She set it upon on the racks. She might just try it out again tomorrow, but today she needed rest.

Hidden entered the shop part of the building once more. It was possible for her to rank up again today, so she would try her best. She picked up the first piece of equipment that came to mind. The armor she had began to work on the previous day. pulling it off the rack, she smiled and brought it over the counter. She kept up her routine with tapping the item, and then proceeding to tap the appraise button. After a few seconds loaded, it told her to retry. She repeated the process and the final result of her item was to be left at uncommon. She sighed and put down her work on the shelf. She did not even rank up today, which was a huge hit n her tommorow's work. She was also running low on materials, meaning she needed to hurry up and get gatherer. She still needed to get damage boosted though.

Hidden smiled as she came in for a new work day. She happened to have skipped yesterday, due to the fact that she was busy with other things, and did not get in back in time to d it. Today though, she was completely ready for her work day. She had ordered that item from Teion, and should be receiving it by the end of today, or on the morrow. She sighed and bought two more good items. She tapped the first one, and then appraised it. Nothing. She tried the other one, a bit angered by the fact that she just had a lock. The other one was locked to. Now this was crap. Two locks, both items that she was supposed to sell? Tat was a loss of money. She destroyed the items. They had no use to her anymore. She could not appraise them, or even sell them back to get her money back.

Hidden the next day got back to appraising. Yesterday, she had bought an item that would help her crafting by a tonfold. It was called Shadows's Coin. She was out of money so she went through her shelves of items and pulled out her first ever crafted item. Thorned Leather energy. She sold it to Cardinal, effectively destroying the item. From there, she bought two more good items with the money. She clicked the appraise button and waited. Her first attempt was a perfect success. Perhaps the luck of the coin had helped him? He tried again and found that he had found nothing, but she could still try. She tried one more time and the item had turend out to be locked. She sighed and took her second weapon. An Axe. Se tookit in her hand and appraised it. It turned out that there was still possibly an enhancement, but she had not found it.She would have to check it out tommorow.

Jonathan opened the door and was immediately surprised by the cold. It was very dark in the merchant's shop, only lit by candle light. His Familiar Sol made an appearance. The White Phoenix casting off a light from its dull flames. A candle drew his attention and the familiar had fun switching its colors around and snuffing it out and relighting it. The blond found his way up to the counter with a smile. He found a cloaked figure standing behind it, only lit by a black light that made the figure a bit creepy. "Ahem, Hello. My name is Jonathan. I was hoping you could possibly help me out here. I would like to purchase a Dimensional Backpack, and to give you some col and materials and perhaps find me some unique items." He opened up his menu and sent the woman 15,000 Col and thirty Tier one Materials. He smiled and looked at her. "You can keep anything that is not unique, but I want the ones that are. The Enhancements I am looking for happen to be a Shield with Flame Aura, Armor with Holy Blessing, or a Curved Sword with Holy Damage. If you can find those, then I would really be happy." The blond smiled, but he felt in the darkness it was not visible. He smiled, took his new backpack and left the shop, His familiar Sol following behind him.

The woman watched as someone actually came into her shop. From what she could see it was a blond male with a glowing White bird familiar. Strange. He walked up to the counter and even further surprised her. He wanted a Dimensional Backpack along with possibly a Unique Item. She nodded her head silently, a bit speechless. She sent the man his backpack and greedily looked over the items. There was a ton. Five thousand col and thirty tier one materials to work with. Hopefully in those items she could find at least one unique. If not, by then she should have enough SP to go and get Gatherer and then find her own materials. She watched silently as he left and as he walked out completely she grinned devilishly. Time to get to work. She took her armor from the quest she did, Second Lessons are also free, and started to appraise it. Perhaps this item would find itself lucky for her. The first two times were retires, but finally she got somewhere with it and ended up finding two new enhancements on her last two tries.

Hidden entered the area of her shop again. She bought a few good items, including a dagger. The chances of getting the man's wanted enhancements at the moment were quite low. He was very specific, wanting certain enhancements on certain kinds of items. It sounded perfect for a tank build, but perhaps she was incorrect. She took her first item in hand. A spear. She held the items in her hands for a second before beginning the appraisal. She clicked it and found that it had some punch behind it and she set it upon the racks for buying. Her prices were quite cheap in her opinion, so perhaps someone who needs that kind of item will come and by it. She tried again with the spear real quick, but there was nothing else. She took her next item. The dagger. It was black and glassy. She wondered what it could possibly hold. She appraised it and jumped with glee when she found out what it had. It had a slot of phase. She quickly moved the item to her inventory. It was too good to sell or give away, and it would help her in the long run.

Hidden stepped back into her shop. Her work was great yesterday, the dagger she appraised had done her nicely, and it would not help her now, but later into the game it would definitely give her advantage over some bosses or players. She needed to get a DMG familiar first, start upgrading it along with her weapon. She needed to get Gatherer now, then just focus on damage until she was ready. Today, she was going to continue appraising the last item that did not get anything yesterday. The shield. She took it inter her hands, examining its work. It was a decent shield, but did it have enhancements. She tapped it and began her apraising. After a few seconds passed, her first time was a success. She smiled and tapped it again, checking for any possible enhancements. Another one! This shield was now rare! First it was good, now rare. She tried another two times, but kept getting retries. Maybe, now was not the time.

Hidden came back into her shop. She was a little sad that she had skipped an entire day of crafting, but she was going to be back on it today. She grabbed her shield from two days ago. Perhaps it had one last enhancement on it. It was similar to her armor. She would not be using her armor long before she sold it, due to the fact it was heavy armor, and not her type. She sighed, examining the shield. She trace it with her finger before tapping it. Still nothing. She could still try though. She clicked it again. Success! The shield also appeared to have a slot of Regen into it. She hung up the shield for display, and hoped that perhaps someday, someone would use it. "Alright, well.... Lets get another item" She purchased another item and appraised it. Fail. Fine.. She purchased another. Nothing again. "Probably the worst day of crafting yet"

Hidden began her crafting again. Her last few days had definitely not gone the best for her. He really had been trying for another unique, but she still had yet to find another one. She did not dare appraise her dagger again for the fear that she might get something she did not want. She would get her weapon some Paralysis, or Bleed, but more damage would not help her. Perhaps Accuracy would be best for her, but now would not be the time to figure that out. She bought a few more items and began to appraise them. Her first Item was locked, the second one appeared to have Evasion on it. It was a dark cloak, lined with white thread. It was a nice piece of equipment, but it still was not for her. She needed perfect, nothing less. She tried it a few more times, but no success. Only try agains.

Hidden came in once more to appraise some items. She took her item from yesterday and smiled at it. Perhaps there was something else on it. She tapped it and appraised, but she ended up getting a retry. Then again and again. Then Finally, her last try of the day, she ended up getting a locked. Her luck was completely failing her recently. She really needed to try something else. Perhaps Sey was a lucky charm. She should go and visit him. She smiled and began forward, selling a few items before she went. She could possibly do a quest with him. Maybe those dragon hunt that were just released would be good. Though, she would probably be carried, and she HATED having to be carried. She liked to get strong enough to be able to help with something. She needed to get her damage up at the moment.

Hidden xame in, prepared for another day of appraising. She took the cloak from yesterday, <<Shadow's Cover>> and smiled. Her luck had been terrible lately, but perhaps today was the day to change that. She tapped the item and then appraise. Retry. She tried repeatedly again, but she still kept the Retry streak. She sighed and put the item back in her inventory, not the shops. This would leave her with her starting cloak, Shadow's Protection and the Retry cloak as she might call it. She sighed. She really needed to get to the tailor. Apparently there was only one at the moment, and he did not happen to be open at the moment. She would be sure to send him a message soon though. He was probably quite busy with other things, and she did not need to intervene with it. Why was her crafting not working recently? One Perfect in the last few days? That was terrible

  • 3 weeks later...

Hidden walked silently into the crafting area. She had not crafted in such a long time, due to the fact she had run out of materials. Now, she had quite a lot. She also had some tier two items, so perhaps she could use them to appraise her things. She grabbed her first item. A piece of leather armor. She touched the buttons and appraised it. Retry. She tired it once more, feeling better this time. Locked. She threw the item aside and grabbed another weapon. Thi one was a two-handed sword. She appraised it and the item came up with Paralyze. She sighed. She looked through her inventory and opened up the Phase dagger. Why not? She was probably going to get something bad, but she was tired of the wait to use it. She appraised it once more and she nearly jumped for joy. It had another Unique enhancement on it. She placed it back in her inventory. Perhaps All three were unique.

Hidden came in yet again ready for appraising. She purchased a few items and began to appraise them immedately. Her first item she appraised was from yesterday. It was a Katana that was previously found with paralysis. She appraised it. Immediately, it came out with another slot of paralysis. She grinned and clicked it one final time. Accuracy! She set down her perfect Katana in the racks and began to make more work. Fail. Fail. Retry. The work day was moving in a good direction at first, but as it progressed there was just failure. She sighed and moved on ahead, trashing the items that were locked and no good to her. She wished she could just find one fallen weapon. It would be good.

Hidden walked back into her shop. She was bored with her work, but it provided to be a big help. She had not really received any customers, and the one she did have messaged her not to make it for him anymore, and to hold back off on it. Now, her only work was trying to find a fallen item for Sey. It would help him in the long run, so she would do it for him. She bought a few items and began to appraise them. A heavy armor with Thorns and light armor with recovery. Fun. She sighed and turned back around, looking at some items that no one would ever buy form her. She sold each of them, seeling quite a few items in total. Darkness Cover, Punisher, Piercer and Shocking Sword were completely destroyed by the system. She would have to wait to see if the light armor had anything else tommorow.

She moved back into her shop, ready to do some more appraising. It was still boring, but perhaps today would be the day she would get that item for Sey. She grabbed the light armor form the previous day and appraised it. Success, More recovery. She tried again, but that was all the item had on it. She threw the item onto the shelf and began to grab another item. A Shield. The first few times were retrie, but eventually she got lucky enough to make the cut for a paralyze. There was still room for more as well. One failure, and the rest were nice. It was not an extraordianry day of crafting, but it was not that bad either. She turned around and put the shield on the shelf to test again tommorow and then began to head back through the door, back into her room to lay down.

Hidden came in a few days after. Her luck was bad and she mostly had been trying to increase her level. She was gaining SP fast to get her familiar's level to max. Once she got it to level two, she would use her second dagger. Quests would become quite easy for her then. Once she to herself to Tier two, it would be easy as well. She grabbed herself a piece of heavy armor and appraised it. The first few times were retries until finally she received Heavy momentum on it. She smiled and tried again. Fail. She threw out the piece of equipment, and grabbed another item. Locked. Great. This was not her lucky day. She needed to get a Fire place room and a Cauldron. That would be a huge help with her crafting. Get her things to +4 rank and she would never have locks again.
