The stories and various books read to her at night began to flood back into her mind. Now they were but distant memories, yet somehow, Eira was able to remember them ever so vividly. She wished she could find the books again, read the intriguing stories, and flip through the colorful art. Life in the Town of Beginnings was boring, but it was all she could do to just fight hunger and survive on her own. People were at least generally friendly to her, often stopping to talk once in a while, or giving her various unwanted things, such as food, her blanket, and more. None of it was asked for, but greatly appreciated by the young girl.

It was noon, though the young girl had already eaten a decent lunch, and was currently on her feet and walking about the streets. There was a weird cat-like animal near one alleyway she had discovered, and though it escaped her sight last time, she was determined to look for it again. Eira thoroughly checked the small alleyway, but upon not finding the fluffy NPC, she began to search the main street. It was crowded, as usual, both with NPCs and Players. The small blonde had grown quite skilled at maneuvering through the masses, and was typically able to dodge any oncoming people, to avoid being touched. Naturally, however, when she was looking for a small critter, avoiding the crowd was the last thing on her mind, and Eira unfortunately had no idea where, what, or who she was heading into.

Hikoru gave a small yawn as he appeared onto the first floor for his break-day. He had been on the frontlines and doing Quests so much that he was starting to quickly tire out. He didn't know what else to do but officially call a day-off and see what he could find on the first floor. Other than the regular NPC's selling their wares, nothing else was different from the masses of the low-levelled players around. He stuck out like a sore thumb in his cloak, compared to the other player's and their basic armor and weapons. He re-adjusted his glasses and stayed out of the way of others, his speed immensely over the others and able to maneuver all of them easily. He noticed something small scurry into an alleyway, and his curiosity got the best of him as he followed it

"What the heck... What could be down here?" He muttered to himself as he looked. He came across a small creature that he didn't recognize, shaking in the corner of the alley. Hikoru pulled down his cloak and revealed his face, and approached it slowly and calmly, shushing and holding his hand out "It's okay, i'm not gonna hurt you..." he said. He opened his pack and brought out a piece of bread and held it out. The small creature came over slowly as he placed the bread on the ground, the creature nibbling on it as Hikoru sat cross-legged on the ground, watching with curiosity. "Where are you from little one?..."

The streets were proving to show no fruit, as Eira was unable to find the small critter from earlier. Sighing, the little girl decided to check the many other alleyways. The fluffy creature was elusive, but the blonde was determined to find it. Turning the corner to enter another alleyway, blue eyes instantly focused on the feline creature who sat calmly, nibbling on the bread.

Eira hardly noticed the man sitting next to it. While she took into consideration that he was present, he did not matter currently in the big scheme of things; only the catlike creature did. She noted that feeding the animal was a smart thing to do, and unfortunately, she had nothing to offer the tiny NPC at the time, already struggling as it was to feed herself on a daily basis. Luckily, she knew better than to run over and possibly scare away the critter. Thus, she approached calmly and slowly, before getting on her hands and knees to gently approach the animal that was feeding on the bread. She did not acknowledge the man, as her attention was solely fixed on nothing but the cat. Once she was close enough, she gingerly reached out her hand to try to pet the fluffy mammal on the back, trying her best not to scare it away. Hopefully, the man next to her would make no sudden movements, but unfortunately, he was the last thing on her mind; only the cat mattered.

Hikoru heard a few footsteps approach and looked at the young girl who approached. She was a level one, and she didn't seem to notice him as she came to the small creature. He gave a small gesture, as to gain her attention quietly. He didn't know if she had completely missed him, or he had accidentally entered stealth, which he didn't mean to do. He crawled over slowly to the girl, but still kept his distance and made sure to be careful with any loud noises, his cloak covering his whole body and making him look like a blue blob as he did. He pulled down his cloak, and showed his long, dark hair and his blue eyes, with his glasses covering them.

"Excuse me, is this your familiar?" He asked curiously. He hadn't ever seen something around here, especially creatures in a safe zone unless it was a familiar. If it wasn't, then this thing was harmless, as it was in a safe zone, but he didn't like the feeling. He would question this girl about it as much as he could, so he could take notes on it in case he ran into another one in his time, and would know how to handle it as well as he could. He held a very calm and curious face as he looked at the girl and the small creature near her.

The blue blob suddenly moved, though it hardly captured the girl's attention, who was focused solely on the felid NPC. To her, it was a real cat of sorts, as the game was far too realistic for her young mind to accept it as anything but reality. A strange one, but another reality she had been pushed into by that video game platform. It was not until the man removed his hood and revealed his face did she even somewhat acknowledge his presence. Luckily, he moved the right way; keeping his motions subtle and quiet. Just like the critter she was petting, she too, was not difficult to startle; especially when she was not paying attention.

The only sound present was the purring of the feline who sat comforted under her fingertips, as she continued to gently stroke its soft fur. The curious voice broke through the silence and purring, and for once, the small girl finally turned her head to truly show that she was acknowledging the fact that he was there. Her hand on the cat slowed, though she made certain not to slow down too much, else allow the cat to grow bored and leave her again. She blinked vivid blue optics at him as he spoke, mouthing the words slightly before tilting her head and speaking aloud, while mirroring his curiosity. "Familiar?"

Eira had little idea as to what he could have been referring to. Is this her familiar? Did he mean himself, the cat, or some object? He was definitely a confusing person, though she would attempt to do her best to respond and answer his question. "I'm familiar with the cat. I met him once before. I'm not familiar with you. Neither of you are 'mine' though," she explained, genuinely confused. As soon as she spoke, however, she returned her gaze to the cat, who at this point in time, was a little bit more interesting and entertaining than the confusing man.
