Anemone 0 Posted March 1, 2017 Author #21 Share Posted March 1, 2017 (edited) The woman was given the go ahead to heal the tank in the party. He had taken quite the beating against the group of bears and it seemed they were taken some rather unnecessary hits as well. Minds were preoccupied with other dilemmas it seemed and Anemone was no different as well. Her eyes focused as her hands touched the Imaginary Thread that would latch from herself to the Tank Player. It was good that he was able to heal some of his own wounds, but she was indeed the healer of the group. If she couldn't pull this off... Alas the glow of her hands seemed to fizzle out entirely as the orb diminished. She stood there with a feeling of defeat in the pit of her stomach. She had to go back to the words that Itzal had said to her for encouragement and to not to give up even when she failed. But failure was so much easier to succumb to as it happens quite often for her. She shook her head, an apologetic, "Sorry, it didn't work this time. I'll try harder next time..." Aereth 1 Posted March 1, 2017 #22 Share Posted March 1, 2017 To say the battle wasn't going the way Aereth was expecting it to go was an understatement. One of the main DPS of their group still hadn't moved and three of the four bears still had almost full health and when Anemone failed to heal Jonathan, it was just perfect. Fortunately all of the bears were still struggling to move their bodies due to the paralyze effect Aereth applied to them earlier. "Don't worry @Anemone. You are great. Just keep trying while we well also do our best to kill those stupid bears.... Speaking of which..." Aereth turned to @Beatbox and yelled into his direction. "Hey Beat! You need to snap out of this day dreaming. We really need you to do some damage to the bears, as you are one of our main DPS units!" After that he turned to @Hikoru and @Morgenstern. "I need you to focus on the three bears that are still sitting at almost full health. @Vargas and I will take care of the one that is almost dead." He knew that Jonathan would have no problem with the hate management for the group and trusted the man to howl if he needed to. But for the first time here in Aincrad, Aereth found himself yelling orders at his friends and party members... He hoped that he hadn't disrespected somebody on his group... Shaking off those stupid thoughts he nodded at @Vargas once more, charged with him together at the separated bear. Aereth started to charge up his lightning fall sword art and struck at the bear, thus creating a somewhat decent opening for Vargas to follow up. Morgenstern 1 Posted March 2, 2017 #23 Share Posted March 2, 2017 Jonathan waited for the health support, but nothing ended up happening. The blond sighed and turned his head as Aereth spoke. The man seemed to have taken charge of anything and was ordering them to go and focus on the other bears. The blond smiled and nodded to the man. He was doing great, and he had improved just so much He nodded to Hikoru and charged forward. Beatbox did not seem to be doing much at all, but instead either dozing off our enjoying watching them take care of the battle. The blond grimaced. Beatbox had changed so many ties since Jonathan had recruited him. "You are mine!" His blade slashed into the flesh of the bear, causing it to bellow in agony. It made ateempts about slicing him, but did not appear to realize it was paralyzed, unable to be hurt by the bear. Vargas 0 Posted March 4, 2017 #24 Share Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) (OOC: Added the final bleed damage that should've been activated earlier on Bear A) Things were moving slowly but progressively. With Beatbox out of it at the moment it was slower than it could've been. The bright side was that Morgenstern basically had the attention of all the bears and was able to keep them off of all of them. Aereth was calling out orders, making sure the flow of combat was orderly and with as little chaos as possible. Vargas knew that if it wasn't Aereth or somebody else taking the role of command he would've likely tried to step up. It was practical to have someone focus their attention on everything so as to catch any openings or surprises when they came. When Aereth gave the signal for him to charge the bear once more he did so, running alongside him as they both unleashed their lightning fall sword arts and dealing heavy damage to the bear. Backing off quickly, he made sure to give himself room from their target and the others. Hikoru 0 Posted March 4, 2017 #25 Share Posted March 4, 2017 Hikoru breathed and moved forward, ready to strike these creatures once more. But as he did, he slipped and tripped on the ground again, causing him to fumble. He breathed and stood gruffly, starting to become irritated. What was the floor made of? Ice? Was there an enchantment of this room that caused him to stumble? No one else seemed to be having a problem, so he had no idea as to why he was having such a hard time attacking. He breathed and looked back at the group "Alright, i'm entering stealth on my next turn. I'll make sure to land an attack eventually." He said shortly. He had embarrassed himself enough today, now it was time to get serious. He equipped his Shadow's Eye, taking a chance with loss of accuracy for his chance for some loot, and breathed and mentally prepared himself to use his Unique Skill. He knew it took a lot out of him to try what he was about to do, but it was worth a shot. Anemone 0 Posted March 5, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) There was a lot of heated thoughts among the group of players that had ventured out alone to tackle this dungeon. At first there was a lot of positive emotions, then all of a sudden things had begun to decline. Sir Beatbox was out of it, dealing with some personal issues that kept him out of combat, then there was a wave of misses from the DPS. Not to mention that Anemone could not proc off her healing ability. The battle had been long fought for sometime now and while the Bears were now paralyzed it didn't seem like the fruits of the battle were bearing anything nutritious. This was awkward. "Hey, we should regroup after we deal with these bears. Beatbox seems to have a lot on his mind and we might need to seek new help to fill in the ranks. Let's try and finish these things off. Sorry, I couldn't heal again. I'm gonna keep trying though..." the shy girl had given them her plan, with their ranks descending into a melancholy state, they needed to turn things around or this dungeon was gonna fail them mentally. Aereth 1 Posted March 7, 2017 #27 Share Posted March 7, 2017 The battle was going pretty well for the group of players that were about to enter the sub dungeon. And that was something the bears weren't pleased about at all. All of the roared furiously, and charged at Jonathan, who had gathered the most hat from them. The first tackled Jonathan and forced the tank to the ground, where the rest of the bears joined him. At this moment, Aereth came charging at the bears once again with one of his area of effect sword arts. He slashed at all of them, applying bleed and paralyze effects on all of them, and then they finally let go of Jonathan. He had lost a good amount of health but his health bar was still in the green. He nodded once at Jonathan and turned to @Vargas. "Now we're going to focus on the bear with the second lowest health points. The weakest will die in a couple of seconds due to my bleed effect." Morgenstern 1 Posted March 8, 2017 #28 Share Posted March 8, 2017 The battle unfolded quickly enough. One of the bears was almost dead, while the rest of them remained with a high amount of health. Good for them. Beatbox had seemed to just be lost in the mess of things as if he forgot his purpose of the battle. "Alrighty, I am going to go ahead and try to finish off number eight. If not, Vargas handle it for me" He moved in, attacking at the bear. As he charged, the bears seemed to remember how fun he was to slash up. Soon he had marks all over his body. He was still in the green zone, so he was fine, but ouch that hurt. "um... Anenome. Anytime would be great now. I am starting to actually feel things" He had not got a hit in, or finished the bear, so hopefully one of his allies could finish that up for him there. Vargas 0 Posted March 8, 2017 #29 Share Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) The bears were successful in tackling down Jonathan but Aereth was quick to assist before Vargas was able to intervene. He watched as the health of his former primary target dropped deep into the red and obtained a paralyze and bleed effect. Jonathan's health was still in the green at least so they didn't need to worry about him too much. Calling out to Anemone, who had suggested pulling back after they cleared these bears, "It's your call. It's slow going so it might be for the best." Then he turned to Aereth and said, "Got it. Let's make this quick though. I'm starting to run out of energy." Looking at his energy he was quickly draining his reserves. Though, he'd have to worry about that later. Charging forward he activated his lightning fall ability once more and unleashed it on the new target. He quickly recovered his blade and gathered some distance so that Hikoru could make his own play. Hikoru 0 Posted March 9, 2017 #30 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Hikoru watched as the others weakened the bears quickly, and his eyes slit in concentration. He knew he would hit this time, and have a chance for some loot if he made his mark. He breathed and closed his eyes, his cloak soon being surrounded by shadow as he disappeared into his own shadow, soon sinking into nothing but a puddle of shadow, then disappearing alltogether. After a few moments, he appeared from the top of a tree, quickly jumping at the bears, slicing and slashing at their skin and leaving large gashes. He never received a critical, but the Paralysis and the Bleed icon appeared above their heads. He smiled and looked as the weakest bear gave a large groan and soon turned into pixels. He looked and ran over, finding a rare piece of armour, something he could give Shield to find anything. He gave a small smile and held it up for everyone to see, then put it into his inventory for now. He came over to the group and nodded, turning to Anemone and indicating to her that it was her turn to do her action. ID: 79047 BD: 8+1=9 Hit! Anemone 0 Posted March 10, 2017 Author #31 Share Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) Another lucky hit as the mobs were frozen in their place or well, in this case they were paralyzed. They had teamed together to be a force to be reckoned with and that meant the mob was now in trouble. Steady as it goes, while they may not have been the most damaging group things were promising and looking in their favor once more, even more once Hikoru had ravaged one of the bears making their targets a little smaller and a less serious for the tank, Morgenstern. Anemone had been called to the front once more, she had apologized earlier for not getting the healing proc in, but this was different. Her hands were on Morgenstern's Life Thread and she zapped a concentrated flow of green energy towards him. Aereth 1 Posted March 13, 2017 #32 Share Posted March 13, 2017 Aereth for now only stood there and looked how the battle was unfolding. Everybody was doing great so far, and Hikoru even managed to kill of the first mob with an area of effect attack. After the group of player finished their attacks, the bears tried to attack again, but due to the inflicted paralyze status they were unable to attack once again. It really seemed like status inflicting weapons were very useful if two or even more players would be using these kind of weapons. This time Anemone managed to fully heal Jonathan, so that he was ready to take another barrage of hits from the bears. Aereth smiled and charged once again at the bears, but unfortunately didn't make it far. Suddenly his vision turned black for some moments and he fell to the ground. As soon as he was able to see again, he tried to get back up again, and dusted himself off. "F*ck. It seems like my lack of sleep lately is starting to take its toll on my mind..." he thought while retreating back, hoping that the others would have been too focused on the battle to see him fall over... Morgenstern 1 Posted March 14, 2017 #33 Share Posted March 14, 2017 The battle unfolded in front of him quickly. Hikoru managed to kill one of the mobs with an AOE attack which meant that he would be taking less oncoming damage. He felt a warm pressure begin on one area of his back and then course through the rest of his body. When the heat was removed the amazing sensation did as well. He turned and found that Anemone had finally managed to get her First Aid skill up and running. He raised his weapon, ready to cut forth when he had seemed to forget the last time he howled. He lowered his weapon slowly a bit annoyed at his job, but he got straight to work. He faced the creatures and put all of his emotions into his voice. Once he was prepared he let out a normal <<Howl>>. The howl echoed around the area as it was not focused. As awesome as it was, he did not seem to be able to use Focused Howl much. It only worked for single target, which was a major slap to the face. Vargas 0 Posted March 16, 2017 #34 Share Posted March 16, 2017 (edited) Hikoru was able to finish off one of the bears with his AoE. This left three bears left which were all near fifty percent. Anemone was able to activate her healing ability too and brought Morgenstern back up to full health. With the bears being inflicted by Paralysis they were unable to do anything to him this time so his health remained at max. "Nice job Anemone," Vargas called out with a smile as he prepared to charge in. Once Morgenstern drew the bears' attention away he charged up his sword art and swiftly made his way forward. His Anneal Blade lit blue, crackling as if charged with electricity, as his lightning fall sword art activated. Vargas leapt into the air, his blade held blade down as he prepared to impale it into his target once more. However, the bear didn't seem to like Vargas's plan and raised its paw and swatted him out of the air, sending him sprawling into the dirt. "Oof." Vargas released the air from his lungs as it was knocked out of him. Getting himself back up, he made sure to keep his eyes on the bears. Hikoru 0 Posted March 20, 2017 #35 Share Posted March 20, 2017 Hikoru went for another attack, but he realized that without his accuracy enchantments, it made it much harder to attack the creatures. He went for a bear but his attack missed entirely. He grit his teeth and stood up, wanting to just go up and strike the side of the bear repeatedly until it died. But he knew that he couldn't as the system wouldn't allow him to. He held his ground for now and gave a nod to Anemone. He would have to wait until his next turn to try to attack again, and he knew that would take a minute or two, so he mentally prepared to fight. This sub-dungeon had been going well, but he knew that people were starting to run low on energy, which worried him. It would have to be him and Morgenstern to continue while they all took a break to re-gain their energy. He wouldn't mind, but he didn't want Morgenstern to run low on health, which was his main concern. ID: 79996 BD: 2+1=3 Miss! Anemone 0 Posted March 21, 2017 Author #36 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Anemone addressed Vargas with a thumbs up, she was able to successfully heal Morgenstern and that was a much needed heal for the Tank of the team. She looked from the corner of her eye at everyone's health meter. They all looked relatively strong so a heal was not needed at the moment, thankfully they were able to execute their attacks on the intended targets. Anemone had drifted back a bit more staying close to the rearguard to make sure everyone was staying alive through this ordeal. She would accumulate some sweat upon her brow as she had never been in a mob battle like this, they were certainly tough critters on these upper floors. But if everyone planned their attacks right, then the next batch of enemies should be easy to take down. She had noticed a few things that could have gone better in this fight, but she doubted anyone could really read into the battle without making the necessary adjustments during what was actually happening. She would address these issues with the team after this current battle ended. That is, if she had the nerve to actually speak up about it. Aereth 1 Posted March 22, 2017 #37 Share Posted March 22, 2017 Aereth just recovered from his small blackout a couple of moments ago and looked over the battle field. It was going pretty meh. The tank howled and gathered another good amount of hate from all the remaining mobs. They immediately stormed at him and tried to reduce his health points as much as they could. Fortunately the swipes of the mobs were kind of sloppy, and thus Jonathan would have no problems avoiding all the hits. Taking the opportunity, Aereth sped towards them and was once again able to land a critical hit on all of the bears, applying paralyze and bleed effect at the same time. Aereth smirked and retreated back behind his tank friend. "Let's get this battle over with. We need to regroup and try it again later." He told his party members and waited for them to make their moves. They were much too slow in slaying the dumb mobs... Morgenstern 1 Posted March 22, 2017 #38 Share Posted March 22, 2017 Jonathan moved forward with his weapon. He was high enough on hate, it was now just time to deal some damage. "I am going in!" He charged the three remaining bears. He must have looked rather tasty, because as soon as he neared them they all turned his direction. The nearest one charged him full speed. The tank rose his shield, which took impact. He fell back and rolled onto the ground. Forom there he sighed and got back up. Even with his heavy armor, the bears were able to tossed him around like a rag doll. "Vargas, get in with the last bit of your energy, after that I think you are due for a break" He stepped next to Hikoru who would for sure finish one of the creatures this time. "Let's keep it up Hikoru. We will be in the dungeon in no time" 80175 BD:5 [H: 5 BCD] Aereth: 600/600 <> 31/60[H: 6 CD, 7 B] Morgenstern: 840/840 <> 82/84 [H:1 B] @Vargas: 320/320 <> 9/32[H:0] Hikoru: 1175/1175 <> 96/116[H:0] Anemone: 640/640 <> 64/64 Bear B 196/588 | 24 Bleed [0/2] Paralyze [0/1]C,D: 308/588 | 24 Bleed [0/2] Paralyze [0/1]
Vargas 0 Posted March 22, 2017 #39 Share Posted March 22, 2017 (edited) Vargas was quickly back to normal after having had the wind knocked out him. Things were slow, but progressive. Yet, his energy was running out and Morgenstern noticed this. Vargas nodded to him, confirming his suggestion. He was gonna need to recover his energy soon for the fight later on. With Aereth's last attack having paralyze the bears, Vargas charged forward. Once again, he had his lightning fall sword art charged and ready as he quickly approached the bear. Without effort this time, Vargas impaled his blade into the bear and quickly withdrew it as the bear's health bar dropped instantly. Making his way ack out Vargas said, "Not much I can do now for awhile. I'll do what I can when I have my energy back." With that Vargas made his way further back and out of the way, joining Anemone in the rearguard. It was best that he stayed completely out of the way and should the bears somehow get past Morgenstern he could at least block them from getting to her. Hikoru 0 Posted March 23, 2017 #40 Share Posted March 23, 2017 Hikoru watched as Vargas stood next to Anemone and gave a nod. At least she would be a little bit safer in case anything happened to Morgenstern, or she somehow gained hate for the creatures. He looked back and aimed for the bear with the lowest health, then charged forward and stuck it with his strongest sword art, dealing enough damage to finish off the bear. It dropped a consumable, and he nodded to himself as he pocketed it. This fight was going smoothly, although, it was taking awhile to complete. He couldn't complain though, as he was the main cause of it. He had missed a lot of his attacks, and this fight would more than likely be farther if he hadn't missed. He made sure to make a mental note to train on his accuracy at a later date, but for now he waited to see what the next round of attacks would produce as damage for both sides.
