Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion was now looking for a spot to spend his days. As of late, he had been staying in an alleyway on the first floor. Even though he liked the place a lot, he knew that he must stay on the move. This was, in part, to keep his motivations going. He needed to improve, to change, his current abilities, skills, and even appearance. So, Dominion made up his mind to move all his stuff somewhere onto the second floor. After having entered the tavern, he went into the tavern to ask a question about tea. He didn't know if they had any tea in this tavern, and did not want to assume anything. He had done that on the first floor, and didn't get any tea for several weeks. Tea to Dominion was like Starbucks to a hipster. Dominion, of course, had never noticed that similarity, being that he didn't hear the term "hipster" while he was in America. Dominion had his white, unbuttoned tee-shirt, faded blue jeans, and his Monkey Ring and Monkey King Semblance visibly equipped. Dominion was standing right in front of the tavern doors, admiring the engravings embedded in the wood. Edited February 18, 2017 by Dominion
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted February 17, 2017 The door to the tavern creeks as it is moved inward, toward the people within. Technically, Dominion could have tried to open the door toward himself, but there was no obvious handle. Dominion had placed his open hand on the outside engraving and pushed slowly forward. As he did such, a small amount of light came from the inside of the tavern, as the was some candle lights here and there. He walked in, looking to both sides at NPC's on either side. "Well looks like I won't find much here, especially in terms of player to NPC ratio." Dominion looked to the other side, noticing a bunch of empty chairs. Slightly above the furthest chair from him, rays of light streamed in from a small, half circular window. The light was a bit stronger than the candle light, but it was more like a focused beam when compared to the wide birth of the candle rays. Dominion took his first step in, after standing still for a couple moments to take in all of his surroundings.
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Before he could take a second step forward, an NPC came up to him to talk about something. Dominion was not entirely sure if the man was an NPC or just a low level player, but either way he began to whisper. "Hey dude, you ever heard of the Queen? She spawns somewhere on this floor, and I hear she drops a pretty good piece of loot. I would say, it is not a bad drop, if you are up for the challenge." The NPC turned around and walked back to the place where he was sitting. Dominion stood for a while, thinking about the potential consequences. He had never challenged a so called "bee" before, so the adventure and possible quest was not entirely a bad idea. Dominion, after some careful consideration, decided that the tea and place to dwell would have to wait another few days. Dominion turned his entire body around, pivoting on his right leg. Now, Dominion was exiting the tavern about as fast as he had pushed the door open.
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Dominion took a quick step forward, making sure to leave space on his side if someone happened to be entering. His eyes hadn't quite adjusted to the dim light of the tavern, so he would be fine going back to the sunlight. Dominion opened his mouth to yawn before lifting his right arm to the side. He swiped right to open his menu. From there, it was memory that opened his inventory and equipped his battle gear. He was, to his knowledge, ready to take on whatever threats were to come his way. He began walking forward, with no specific destination, except to leave the city of course. As he walked, he saw merchants, tailors, blacksmiths, and other vendors of various sorts. This time of organization reminded Dominion of the first floor. There was a fair amount in common between the first floor and the second floor. For instance, both of these floors were not packed with snow. This would hinder any attempt to track and follow, especially with a lack of footprint trails.
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Dominion walked for a couple more minutes, admiring the small things that were sold. He was not really one to buy and sell stuff, especially having the mindset with which he was raised. He recalled a time and place at which his father and himself were living in a shack like apartment. He had asked what they would eat, and his father decided they would have vegetables. This was somewhat of a luxury for Dominion, as he was accustomed to eating rice and bread from the monastery. Thus, Dominion was going to try to make these vegetables cooked! That, to be totally honest, was one of the worst things Dominion had ever done. As he had moved his blade over the union and sliced down, he could feel the tears roll down his cheek. He was happy, overjoyed that he was finally getting something other than rice and bread. However, the union forced him to cry, as if he was sad. Dominion learned about the three forms of crying that day. This has stayed at the back of his mind ever since.
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Dominion had slowed down his pace again, just now exiting the main gates of the second floor. He had been so deep in thought, he couldn't remember getting to where he was now. He just shrugged his shoulders as the thoughts came back to him... He had no specific area to go, so wandering wouldn't hurt. Dominion walked forward, brightening up his pace a bit. Taking one step in front of the other, Dominion turned his head over his right shoulder to take a look at the town. It was pretty large, especially in its length and width. If Dominion had to estimate the number of people that dwelled in the city, he would probably be off by several hundred. The people standing around were most likely NPC's as well, being that none of them seemed to talk to each other. Dominion understood people who didn't want to talk. However, he could never claim to be someone, as he seems to be talking a lot to all sorts of people.
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Dominion turned his head back around to face the forward direction. His Monkey King Armor shined a golden gleam, reflecting the light from the rays. This was only partially, as part of the Monkey King Armor was some sort of fur. Thus, a tailor, such as Aereth, was able to make such a useful item. Dominion snapped back to his realization as he approached a small, path leading up into the mountains. According to what Dominion had heard from the strange NPC, his calculations for a possible hide-out were as good as ever. It wasn't a bad idea to go in search for the queen, but he would need to be careful of attracting too many bee's to him at one time. It wasn't like Dominion had brought Row on this quest. Now that Dominion thought about it, he should have invited her to come and join in on the fun. Dominion didn't have the damage power to take out a swarm of bees, especially ones with strength equal to the second floor. From what he had realized when he went with Domarus to the fifth floor was that the strength increases as you progress floors.
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion began his walk up the mountain. He, at one point, needed to secure his balance with his right arm. Another time, a rock began to slip out from under his foot. This caused him to fall over, but catch himself once again. This was because he never focused his eyes on the ground which he trekked upon. The trees, still sprouting dark green leaves, seemed spaced out, almost strategically so. He kept a watchful eye around him as he passed by the first layer of trees. To both his left and right, health bars were popping up, but he could see no bodies to pair with them. He was probably in the right area, but he would have to search somewhat quietly for the enemy in order to find out. If he were to find a group of them, he would most certainly be in the worst trouble. Dominion turned his upper body to take a look at a tree beside him. There was certainly a health bar, marking that there was some sort of mob there, but it must have been hidden or something. Dominion took a deep breath as he walked up to the tree. Time to find you, queen of the bee's, Dominion thought. Edited February 17, 2017 by Dominion
Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion was surprised, as he looked closer at the tree, to realize that there was no mob. However, when Dominion turned his head around to face away from the tree, he was right in line with a giant bee. It was a large, black and yellow alien thing, which to Dominion must have spawned from the furthest parts of the deep. It was actually hideous, but Dominion was somehow able to keep whatever was in his stomach down. He would need to be nimble and agile if he wanted to make quick work out of this enemy and receive whatever item it dropped. Dominion quickly dived forward, his face appearing to go straight toward a rock on the ground. However, Dominion placed his hands forward to brace his body and tried to strike the bee with both his feet. This did not happen, as the bee flew a couple more feet in the air. Flight would be a major advantage in this terrain, since the trees were so spaced. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion realized that the surrounding land was so well placed to house this spawned thing. Dominion knew his target was correct because of the name being reflected on the health bar. Dominion shifted his body, knowing full well that he was going to land awkwardly. He tried his best to keep his side from smashing into the rocks beneath him, but before he could complete his motion, the giant flying thing came down from its great height. It tried to rush into Dominion with it's stinger, but Dominion was able to hit it aside as he fell, dealing a small amount of damage to the queen. Dominion did hit the ground rather hard, as his previous attack left him plenty vulnerable. He hoped that his next attack would also prove successful, especially with his current disadvantage. Dominion had fought one other flying mob before, with the help of the Vanishing Dragon. The attack made from that thing caused him to feel both sick and fearful. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion, upon his landing on his side, found that he might have a small margin of time to get up. He most certainly did not want to get stabbed by the spiky thing that was a part of it's anatomy, especially since this bee was so hideous. He shifted to the right side, allowing a quick roll over and push up. however, that was all he was able to do before the bee was able to track his movements. The be hovered down rather quickly, but Dominion got out of the way from the stinger. He was so thankful that his armor was boosting his Evasion, because otherwise, it would have been a pretty obvious pierce through his abdomen. Dominion had sudden and very brief flashback to the twin headed flying snake. It was a sight to see, but it was more common than this monstrosity. Dominion closed his eyes in that brief second and quickly leapt back onto his feet. He would need some time to realign his body, but that would have to wait. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion raised his feet, aiming his body to be upright and facing away from the beast, so not to jump directly at it. He had no idea how strong this beast was, but he didn't want to find out, if at all possible. He was now up and facing away from the hovering bee, which was focused completely on him. Dominion turned his head, holding his arms to both sides to keep the white unbuttoned shirt from making too much noise. His fists were clenched at both sides, turning white from the amount of pleasure he was applying to each. You could not see these hands underneath the golden, glowing spirit monkeys that covered them completely. He lifted his arms straight in front of his body as he concentrated his energy. His next strike, when he turned to face the queen bee, would be dead accurate and stunningly powerful. He moved around his leg, allowing his body to move with the flow and made a tiger fist, crushing the anatomic structure of the queen. She, being about his size, was hit directly in the abdomen area and was sent several feet back. The queen bee was able to stop the majority of the momentum, but it was clear that it wasn't expecting the next few status affects. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #13 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion had managed to stop the bee for at least a little while, since when he successfully made his attack, he could see the "Critical Success" sign pop up. This meant, as long as this queen bee thing wasn't some type of special boss with hidden properties, it would be paralyzed. Dominion could do with a free attack, but he wasn't quite sure it would happen. He was still somewhat flustered by the flashbacks he had, but he had managed to focus in the midst of battle. Therefore, Dominion would just need to put that same amount of effort in if he planned to finish this "thing" off. The bee remained completely still where it was hovering. Currently, the bee was laying on the ground, since it temporarily lost its ability to move. It suddenly took affect and the bee just dropped onto the ground and rolled a little bit, until in finally was halted by a tree stump. Dominion was given a bit of breathing room, which he definitely would take in a heartbeat. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion approached the bee, keeping a watchful eye for any possible movements. However, he did doubt that the queen bee would move, considering it was just paralyzed seconds ago. As he situated himself to stand beside the bee, something odd happened. Not only did the bee suddenly raise it's stinger up, but Dominion also became off balance. A stone, about the size of a large skull, slipped out from beneath his left foot. This caused Dominion to reach out with both hands, hoping to grab onto something. However, Dominion did manage to grasp the stinger with one hand. His hand was punctured completely through, his handwraps were now obstructed by a giant, black spike. It had little prongs attached to make a much more painful situation. However, due to the lack of pain in this game, Dominion was more disgusted than hurt. He could see parts of his body, specifically his hand, falling away and dissipating into the moist air. He was in a very, very bad situation. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #15 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion's next motions were very quick, as he desired to retract his hand as quickly as possible. Dominion grabbed his right wrist with his left hand, both glowing from his battle healing. He could see that the wound was healing around the bee's stinger, which was a major plus. He, while the bee was down, should have the advantage. So he lifted his right hand from the stinger, the prongs just adding to the graphic scene. After his first tug, his hand became free of its obstruction. Dominion was lucky that the queen bee didn't do much but wiggle around on the ground. It could have tried to fly, or hover, but it seemed as though it wasn't accustomed to being flipped on it's backside. Dominion could see his hand coming back together, the monkey engraving on his right spirit monkey returning to it's original form. Clenching his fists again in the Tiger stance, Dominion was ready for more action. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #16 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion moved quickly to the other side, jumping over a rock and landed on a patch of hard earth. There was a dead root, uplifted from the ground by a couple inches. Dominion would have seen it, had the bee not suddenly lift it's body from the ground and target him. Dominion would have easily dodged the attack, except when his foot got lodged between the root and the hard earth. Because his leg was stuck, literally rooted in place, the queen bee stabbed through his Monkey King Armor. He could see, when he looked over his shoulder, the stinger punctured through his body and extending out past his back. Dominion had to literally hold down his guts, as they seemed to be dissipating before his very eyes. At this rate, he would have a hole in every limb, and would have regenerated each one several times over. This was not the worst outcome, especially since he would not die from this. He seized the left wing of the bee, as he was thoroughly transfixed by it and needed something to maintain his balance. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #17 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion didn't know how unstable he would become once he grabbed the bee. His weight, being rather heavy from all the muscles in his body, dragged the large bee down. However, it was still attempting to hover, which just moved the stinger while it was still punctured through his abdomen. He could see the health bar drop by another significant amount, even with the battle healing coursing through his body. Pixels were just pouring out of him like a fountain, except this fountain was stained red. He tried quickly to move his body off of the bee, but that was met with another sharp movement by the bee. He was stuck in place, unable to escape. Maybe, he would just have to do damage from here, while the bee was still so near to the ground. He tried to root his feet on the ground, but the sharp tugs made even this small movement impossible. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #18 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) As he stopped moving to think fast about the situation that he was now in, the queen be moved directly forward. The spike was rammed through his armor once again, but this time it was much larger than before. His health bar dropped significantly again. The only difference between this time and last time though, was that Dominion made a swift and direct arm strike between the wings and the main body. It seemed slightly affected by this strike, but continued to moved forward, sinking the stinger further into his abdomen. He was still struggling to keep his feet on the ground. Soon, hopefully, Dominion would get the chance to lift his body off of the stinger and make a truly magnificent attack. He was slightly hovering over the rocks that were beneath him, every few seconds managing to support his weight with a rock from below. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion, finally getting a slight footing on the ground, pushed the queen bee out from beneath him. It was a horrendous sight to see from everywhere else, but to Dominion, it was not important. He would be fine, as long as he could get out of the given situation and do some damage. He pushed with all his might, until the stinger was completely out of his abdomen. He put one hand over his stomach as he clenched his right fist beside his hip. He lifted his gaze to meet the bee, and then lunged out with a tiger's rage. He did not make much of an attempt to dodge, as he was moving with the vigorous rage of a tiger. He threw his fist directly into the abdomen of the queen bee, seeing it slammed back onto the ground with so great a force, rolling a fair distance down the hillside. Dominion did not say a word, but continued down the hill after her. His rage was not quite done yet. Dominion 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Dominion followed he bee, as it was rolling down the hillside. Finally, the bee rolled to an abrupt stop beside a rock that jutted out from the earths surface. Dominion tried to slow down, and ultimately did. His Armor was still repairing itself, as well as his on body for that matter. He struck out his fist, still filled with rage. He, however, missed the enemy and planted his leg down in a slight hole in the ground. Dominion was quick to retract his leg and moved to the side in order to dodge a close aimed stinger. The bee was, even though it was paralyzed, moving with the previous momentum. It was hit into the air by a foot or so, just high enough to come close to the incoming Dominion. Dominion was quick though, and had moved to the side to dodge it completely. After this movement, Dominion knew that it would be capable of landing another few successful attacks, assuming he wasn't able to prevent them. He quickly lifted his arm again for a potential strike with his left fist weapon.
