Itzal 0 Posted March 16, 2017 #101 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Escaping 1/2 Things turned for the worst rather swiftly. He turned to look at the surroundings and watched players leap from their ships and into the water, swimming for shore. Itzal turned to anyone on his ship. "We need to get out of here asap! Come on let's go!" Before he leaped off however he heard the booming voice of the player Mack, essentially insulting all the players who couldn't take another hit and thus doing the smart thing in leaving the event and fighting another day. Itzal frowned and narrowed his eyes at the player, his eyes hidden by the shadow of his hood, but refused to shout back. Men absorbed by their own pride were strangers to reason. He called one last time to the players on his ship before rushing to the edge. Velnia flew overhead, flying to players and giving them a nudge that encouraged, but did not physically move, them to evacuate. Itzal leaped off in a dive. When he entered the game he knew nothing of swimming. After he started he didn't stop until he had mastered it. Otherwise he wouldn't have joined this event.
Beatbox 0 Posted March 16, 2017 #102 Share Posted March 16, 2017 After a bit of swimming and seeing the others behind him along with seeing how big the boss truly was and eventually he had found himself back to the shorelines, he had crawled back to the shore and coughed the water out of his system. Shortly after he had noticed Sey run out of the scene, and well... Beatbox wasn't going to waste anymore time with this, he had stood up and patted the water off from his armor and shoulder pads and started to walk forward. It had looked like this was going to be the first retreat he was going to make in a long long time... he shook his head as he saw the main npc's ship retreat from the frey as well... it looked like this was a sheeptar situation we have had. Itzal and made his jump to get out too... he had figured, Itzal didn't have the best of all stats anyways. Beatbox had chuckled, it had looked like a round 2 was to come at a later time. Itzal 0 Posted March 16, 2017 #103 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Itzal pierced the waters and immediately began to swim speedily towards the shores. At this point all he could do was hope that everyone left and was safe. He couldn't do any more to help them, and quite honestly Itzal had a promise to keep. To stay alive for Kasier. He also had something he very much needed to do for her as well. And he needed to be alive for that. If he could help any of these players he would do so in a heartbeat. But staying and dying was not going to work. Players remaining needed to see that there really was no hope in this battle. And they shouldn't be insulted for fleeing either. Taking huge risks in this world was too much for most players. Velnia flew overhead while he swam, diving into the water from time to time to snag a fish or two. Itzal soon reached the shore and panted for a moment, which was like a few seconds for Itzal. He checked and was satisfied to see his health moving back up again. Next time he'd be sure to grab potions before anything else happened. Escaped 2/
Mack 0 Posted March 16, 2017 #104 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Mack stood at the deck rail of the trim, if somewhat pink, viking ship and continued to scowl. "Like rats fleeing the Titanic," the Vice Commander growled, grey eyes narrowing as he spotted one of the Knights of the Blood Oath, Beatbox, out among those who were swimming away. In the future, the very near future, for that matter, the ginger giant would be having a few words with one of the guild's newest members. This sort of dereliction of duty and cowardice would, quite simply, not be tolerated. As a Knight of the Blood Oath Beatbox was expected to be the first onto the battlefield and the last off of it. It was an expectation that Mack had for each and every one of the Knights and Beatbox, new as he was, did not get to be the exception to that rule. Glowering, the huge soldier turned to the ship's captain. "Captain, I again recommend that we withdraw from this combat. Too much of our fighting strength has abandoned the fight. We must regroup with the rest of the fleet." [Exit 2/2] [Leaves Thread]
Biceps Archelon 2 Posted March 17, 2017 #105 Share Posted March 17, 2017 The king's two pair of eyes spotted more and more players jumping overboard. This pleased them, the invaders we're successfully pushed back and put in their place. This simulated feel of superiority that the event mob had towards the rest made it release a loud laugh that came in the form of its massive body shaking while their twin throats released a 'gru gru gruuuu' noise that can be attributed as a laugh. It looked at the pink colored ship that tried to run away, distancing itself from the mob even more. It decided to leave the losers flee as the vessel looked almost destroyed and redirected its attention towards the remaining two ships. As before, its side fins moved more and more rapidly. Soon, a small water tornado formed around the turtle as it begun spinning. This attracted the remaining 2 vessels in its close range and crashed them into its newly shed shell. < <Biceps Archelon>> - HP: 5,500 - Mitigation: 85 - Accuracy: 100% - Evasion: -5 Abilities: Slow response: Due to the fact that the players launch a surprise attack on it, the event boss won't attack back the first full rotation. Ships can attack it one after another. Shell 'shedding': After the first turn, if the event boss if left with less than 35% it's HP after the first full rotation, it regenerates its HP to 100% at the beginning of the second rotation. [one use only] Stun/Paralyze/Freeze Immunity. <To be discovered> Charge: At the beginning of every full rotation, the boss directs its heads and charges towards the ship that has the most amount of collective hate, dealing 650 raw damage to the ship and 225 raw damage to its crew members. For multiple instances of equal hate, it will hit the last ship that attacked it.(Single Target) B2te: On a CD of 1-6 one of the turtle's two heads attacks for 575 raw damage, the first two ships with the most collective hate, that used the 'Attack' action in their last turn [does not hit ships that used the 'Retreat' action in their last turn]. The other head deals 220 raw damage to all their crew members. For multiple instances of equal hate, it will hit the last two ship that attacked it. (AoE I) Watery Smack: On a CD of 7-12 the turtle uses its side fins and hits for 500 raw damage, all the ships [does not hit ships that used the 'Retreat' action twice consecutively in their last turns]. All crew members will receive 200 raw damage. (AoE II) Ship buff/debuffs: Close Quarters Combat: Players won't auto-miss on a natural BD of 1. Players cannot use their <Charge> sword skill but can still use its mod. First departure: Ships start outside battle range, so captains must use 'Attack' as their first action to participate in the battle. Captain's Actions:(Captains can't attack directly but can use items on their respective crew members) Hide contents Attack: A 'Attack' action brings the ship into fighting range using a charge attack. Captains with ships that have the 'Extra Feature' enabled, charge their vessel towards mob; hitting it with the 'Fire Bear Ram' attached to their ship's underwater bow; this deals (250 + Active Crew nr.*105), to its submerged abdomen. Ships without the 'Extra Feature' still charge but it will only deal (Active Crew nr.*105) normal damage by ramming the bow into its body. This action has a 2 post Cooldown.(Attack-Post1-Post2-Attack-etc.) and generates 3 Hate. Retreat: By using this action, Captains can pull their ship out of the immediate vicinity of the Event Boss. This renders the rest of the crew unable to attack the mob and therefore can be skipped post-wise or use the opportunity to heal themselves. The vessel can still be targeted by AoE II abilities. A captain must 'Retreat' twice in a row, in order to be partially immune to its attacks. Using 'Retreat' three times consecutively removes the ship and all its crew members from the thread/event. If a Captain uses the 'Retreat' action after an 'Attack', the Cooldown resets and 'Attack' can be used in the following post. (Attack-Retreat-Attack-etc.) Stand-by: This action can permit a ship to remain close to the event boss after an 'Attack' action, permitting the rest of the crew to continue attacking the boss; permits a vessel to maintain their position after a 'Retreat' action, either within a AoE II attack's range or out of it. Notes: Players won't gain individual hate but add through their actions (attack/critical hit/mods/<Howl> etc.) to the ship's collective hate. If a Captain chooses to use the 'Retreat' action, that ship's whole crew is skipped battle stats-wise but the crew members can still post once before their turn in battle, in no particular order; example: to express their agreement or disagreement with their captain's decission (IC wise), use/trade items, etc. Once the battle has started, players can use/trade items only on/with their own crew members. Only Banners and crystals can be used on other crews. A ship's HP cannot be replenished, when its HP gauge goes lower or equal then zero, it renders the ship inmoble. Its crew receives full damage (that would be dealt normally to the ship) on the boss' next turns. Its members can either wait until the fight is over (on the ship, vulnerable to attacks) or jump into the water(in one post) and leave the thread by swimming to the shore(in the next one); Post order doesn't apply to members in immovable ships but they can't double post. A crew member can leave its ship by jumping in the water(in one post) and swimming ashore or towards another ship (in the next one). The respective ship's captain has to agree for the player to resume battle as part of his crew. (This can be done through an out of battle order post.) Hikoru 0 Posted March 18, 2017 #106 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Hikoru grit his teeth as he watched his health bar go lower and lower. He planned to fight until the end of it, but it didn't seem so appealing now that the time had come. He looked to see multiple players of both his guild and others retreating and he decided to follow. His cloak shimmered as he landed in the water, soon disappearing into the waters as he did. His cloak made him seem invisible in the water, making it impossible to be seen. He was glad that he had gotten this a few days prior to the event from Beatbox. He made it about halfway until he looked back at the few people who stayed, who's health was good enough to continue. He hoped that they would be safe, and things would go smoothly without him. He knew that he wasn't the best DPS, but he still dealt enough damage to somewhat hurt the bosses at events enough. For now though, they would have to hold their ground and try to get the remaining ships to shore. 1/2 posts to escape!
Aereth 1 Posted March 19, 2017 #107 Share Posted March 19, 2017 "GUYS. THIS BATTLE IS OVER! WE NEED TO LEAVE THE SHIP RIGHT NOW IF WE DON'T WANT TO HAVE ANY UNNECESSARY DEATHS. IT IS FASTER AND SAFER IF WE LEAVE THE HMS BLUEBIRD BEHIND AND SWIM TO THE SHORE BY OUR SELF. THIS IS AN ORDER!" Aereth yelled as loud as he could, before slowly letting go of the steering wheel. "I won't let anybody die on this ship as long as I am the captain." he thought. One of his crew members had already passed out and was sitting at an uncomfortable low amount of health. He slowly walked over to the passed out @Evander and picked him up. After that he turned to face @Domarus and said. "Will you help me getting him back to the shore? We can't let him stay here after all." After waiting for Domarus' answer, he made sure that everybody left the ship, and as soon as nobody else was on it, Aereth also jumped into the water, starting to swim back to the shore... [Retreat 1/2] @Shield, @Morgenstern Important OOC note @Selina, @Biceps Archelon: Mack gave me the OK for getting Evander out of the thread, since he won't be able to post due to personal reasons, before the deadline. Morgenstern 1 Posted March 19, 2017 #108 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Jonathan watched as the battle unfolded even further, this time was not for the better. Everyone on other ships began to dive off the sides, running for their lives. He looked upon everyone elses health bar on his crew, and the results were not too good. Aereth screamed for everyone off the ship and to escape at once. He waited for even Jonathan, who sat at full health, to jump off. The blond rolled his eyes and swung over the side, but grabbed the rails on the ship. As soon as he seen Aereth fly into the water, he hoisted himself back. 'I am not sure if I am the only one on here or not. Only Shield and I were fine with our health bars. I will keep the bluebird going for as long as I can' He looked at his ships condition. It was almost perfectly fine. "Alright, it won't let me assume captain, until Aereth is completely out of here, but I can move on after that" He sheathed his weapon. There would be no use for it. He looked upon the other ships to see that the icebreaker was far away, and Zandra was the only one on her ship. Zandra was not going too well either. He looked over to @Shield who was still on. "Take this! We're the only ones left!" He chucked the browine at the man. It was his prized possesion, but Shield needed it. Domarus 0 Posted March 19, 2017 #109 Share Posted March 19, 2017 The answer was obvious at this point. The players could not go on. Nobody was ready for the immense damage that beast could send their way. Domarus of course was, he could have handled a few hits if everyone stayed and fight. But there were multiple players who would be killed if they stayed and so they fled. A wise decision he believed. Live to fight another day. Life was more important than their pride. Only an idiot would chose to stay and fight when it was clearly too dangerous to do so. He heard Aereth request his help to get Evander out of here and nodded. He saw Morgenstern saying something about his becoming captain. Domarus moved over to him. "I've seen how good a tank you are so I'm not too worried about you. However I will still suggest that you leave along with us." Domarus dived into the waters, his armor heating up when the water began to mix in with it, preventing him from getting cold. He swam over to where Aereth and Evander were and wrapped his arm around Evander and nodded to @Aereth. "Go ahead, get out of here. I've got @Evander. Get to shore." He began to swim towards shore with a nod to Aereth, carrying Evander and making his way over. Due to the heavy armor as well as the player he was carrying, he moved slowly but that didn't matter to him. This fight wasn't over. They would get a second shot at it and when they did he'd be ready. Domarus would be stronger, have the consumables, and hopefully another mod or skill. Escape 1/
Shield 0 Posted March 19, 2017 #110 Share Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) Spoiler Consuming item - Brownie + 54 mitigation (Overwrites Sand Armor Potion. -27 mit) Net gain: 27 Mit It felt like a waste to have to overwrite the effects of his Sand Armor potion, but Jonathan was right. This was no ordinary battle, and there was no time to mourn the loss of consumables. He nodded in appreciation of the gesture and quickly scarfed down the brownie. With that, he was as tough as he was capable of being, and whatever was going to happen was going to happen. "Shame that we had to start our working relationship on such a desperate note," he said, giving Jonathan a tap on the shoulder with his fist. "You better keep yourself alive. I have a lot of training to do, and I'd rather not do it under a different paladin." With that, he turned and dove off of the side of the ship, pumping his shoulders to pull himself through the water as quickly as possible. The thought of being alone in the water with such an impossibly large and powerful foe was unnerving to say the least. Hikoru 0 Posted March 19, 2017 #111 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Hikoru swam for the land and soon he had made it. He crawled onto the land and knew that he was finally safe. He looked back and saw that one of the boats had been destroyed, which wasn't surprising. He noticed that most of the other players had escaped with him as well, and he was glad that they made it safe. There haven't been any deaths yet, and he hoped it would stay that way. He cupped his hands over his mouth towards the remaining players- most of them tanks- and hoped they heard them "Bring those boats back! Don't do anything stupid, we can't afford it!" He said. He waited by the shore for the rest of his guild to show up on the shore with him, and they could make their way to the guild hall and plan for something better than what had happened today. Hopefully they could make ships much stronger than the others had been, something as strong as Zandra's. Then they would be able to last, along with health crystals and more player-healers if possible. He sat down on the shore and started to formulate plans of action to take for the possibility of coming back and defeating this double-headed turtle. 2/2 to escape!! FREEDOM!!!! Zandra 0 Posted March 19, 2017 #112 Share Posted March 19, 2017 I took a quick look around, we was still the only ship still in contact with the giant turtle. The only ship that haven’t retreated. ‘’Well, maybe we are here alone, but we will take it togeth…’’ I got abrupted as one of the head striked me and the rest of the crew again. Still I was good thou. But sadly Hakai was almost down for it. I understood why she did it when she left the ship. More attacks from the turtle and the other crew members followed Hakai’s example. Until there was only me and Hikoru left. ‘’Well, at least we are here together Hikoru. Feels good to not be all alone.’’ But there I was wrong, he had also left the longboat. ’’God damnit.’’ I cursed to myself, being all alone on the big boat. Not until now I had cared about checking my healthbar. Ive never needed to worry about running out of health. But when I glanced at the healthbar my eyes went wideopen and I stumbled a few steps back. The bar that usually is always green would turn yellow when down to low health. But the colour I saw made tears appearing and rolling down my cheeks. It was red. Red. I was close to dead. After this few attacks. I shivered when looking at the ship to the turtle and back to the ship. Would I have to leave it? Run like a coward. More tears started to roll down my cheeks as I ran to the middle of the ship and hugged the mast. ‘’I don’t wanna leave you. I promise, if I can I will return.’’ Then I forced myself to let go, running to the railing and jumping down in the cold water, my tears being flushed away from the waves. Jumped of ship. 1/
Shield 0 Posted March 20, 2017 #113 Share Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) [Swimming post: 2 of 2. Arrived at Sea Dragon] Shield passed @Zandra in the water, giving her a glance and a nod between strokes. It was difficult to speak mid swim, but he did his best to cough out, "Don't worry. I'll take care of her." He crawled through the water with strong, deliberate strokes, stopping short of the side of the ship. There was no ladder, but he could reach the anchor. Pulling himself up was no small task, but he managed to get his feet onto the hooks of the anchor and clamber up the rope onto the deck. He was greeted by a ghost ship, but the vessel itself was relatively undamaged. Taking a deep breath, he ran his way over to the helm and took a moment to familiarize himself with the controls. Come on, come on... There's about to be a tidal wave of turtle power here, and then I'm going to have to make this rig work! Edited March 20, 2017 by Shield
Biceps Archelon 2 Posted March 20, 2017 #114 Share Posted March 20, 2017 Seeing more and more people jumping off and running away. Once again it mocked those players by letting out a 'gruuuuuu' sound from its throats and lightly rocking its massive body to the sides to create small ripples that would interfere with the players' swimming abilities. Now that the vermin attackers were almost extinct it was time to clean the front yard, in this case to sink the remaining vessels and with then whatever nobody that still tried to oppose the king. It faced towards the viking ship, the nearest one, slowly positioning itself so that it would ram directly into it. In mere moments after reaching the desired spot, it unnaturally gained speed and rammed its two heads into the hull. Zandra 0 Posted March 20, 2017 #115 Share Posted March 20, 2017 I felt the cold water surrond my body. The Viking-like themed outfit Ive git from Ariel didn’t gave any protection from the cold and was soon soaked wet. As I swimmed, I think I saw a shadow pass me towards the longboat I just left. Thou I wasn’t sure. But I could barely hear something. It sounded like a mans voice telling me he would take care of her. I shouted back with help of the howl skill. ''Thank you whoever you are!!!''. Then I continued towards the beach when I suddenly felt something hard hitting me. First I thougth it was one of the other boats that was here to save me. But I couldn’t be more wrong. It was the sea beast that stroke me once again. Not even when in the water fleeing away from it it would let me go. I tried to swim faster but it almost felt that I stood still. I saw my bar was almost empty. One more touch and I would turn into crystals. No, I cant give up. I still have my healing ability. I closed my red eyes and opened blue ones that matched the sea around me. But just when I was going to activate it, I got a lot of water straight into my mouth. I cought and the skill canceled. ‘’F***, f***, f***!!!’’ I cursed to myself. My health was still dangerously low. One last time I glanced over my shoulder before I went for the beach. ‘’Good bye Dragon of the Sea.’’ I said in sad tone as I crawled up onto steady ground and safety. Crawling up on the beach. 2/
Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted March 20, 2017 #116 Share Posted March 20, 2017 'Pathetic' .... that was the thought that crossed through Ariel's mind at the sight of so many people jumping overboard just because their HP had been lowered a bit. It was no wonder they were still struggling at the 20th floor after so much time, with so many of them playing safe and retreating at the first sight of danger. She peered through the HP bars of her fellow crew members well, the ones that remained at least. They were all doing pretty well so the action to fully retreat seemed weird for the blonde lioness, to say the least. She looked at Mack and grinned: "Rats indeed..." then directing her gaze towards @Selina, she made a mock salute while grabbing to the rail: "Sailor Ariel, abandoning the Icebreaker. I'll see you later midget-senchou!" Next she saw Kimba and grabbed her by the white scruff and after a deep inhale, she said in a low whisper "Swim towards Zandra's ship.". Next she threw the lion cub high into the air, chuckling at the distressed meowing of the now airborne feline. Then, the blonde herself jumped off off-board into the unsettled lake head first. While surveying the deserters, the blonde spotted a odd figure. At first she though that it was some ship debris from the turtle's violent attacks but its trajectory was too regular so until she noticed it climbing up did she figure out that it was a actual player. It seemed that player and another one were not going to back down yet. She looked at her HP bar and her battle ready inventory, she was far from being in danger and hasn't had enough fun yet. Sticking for a bit longer wouldn't hurt... right? TL Note: "senchou" - jap. 'captain' Switching ships 1/2 Combat rotation: (Each crew has 72h/3 days, to reply before being skipped. Aereth 1 Posted March 20, 2017 #117 Share Posted March 20, 2017 Aereth noticed how the two tanks stayed back on the ship, while Domarus Evander and Aereth were swimming back to the shore. He turned back his head for a brief moment, and saw how the remaining players started to regroup on the different ships. "Maybe they are able to take it down..." he thought, but then focused on swimming back to the shore as fast as possible. They needed to get Evander out of the water in order to put him out of danger. After a couple of minutes they finally reached the shore, and thus they made it out alive. With broken pride, but alive. And this was the only thing that mattered right now. Aereth didn't let the people down. He gave out a soft sigh, and stood back up to his feet, continuing watching the battle. He was eager to see if they would be able to kill the f*cking boss... Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted March 20, 2017 #118 Share Posted March 20, 2017 Among the turbulent waves that made this back town small lake seem more like a stormy sea, a blonde figure had finally reached the viking ship named 'The Dragon of the Sea'. Looking at the painted letters on the hull, the blonde partially blamed herself for giving Zandra the vanity armor piece instead of a proper viking armor... if only she was a proper blacksmith to pull such a feat. She was relieved to find her white furred companion, struggling to stay afloat next to the vessel. "Good girl." said Ariel between breath and picked the cub once again, this time placing her behind her neck as the blonde herself started hoisting herself upwards, like the earlier shadow, via the anchor chain. Once on relative 'terra firma' Kimba jumped off her back and shed the excess water in all directions, in a very canine like manner Brushing some rebellious golden locks behind her ear, the blonde looked at the person manning the helm: "I was wondering who was foolish enough to take over my friend's ship." she said with a small laugh, then continued: "it's a bit late for this but..." she straightened herself and made a crisp salute, mocking @Shield: "Requesting permission to come aboard... kame-senchou!" she relaxed her stance, as much as the rocking ship permitted her, and continued in a more serious tone: "So, what do you plan to do?" Selina 0 Posted March 20, 2017 Author #119 Share Posted March 20, 2017 Except for a couple of fools that decided to stay and fight, Selina saw that most fleet members had jumped overboard of their respective vessels and swam ashore safely. Now she needed to land her own pink ship and have a long talk with her grandfather about what went wrong and devise a better plan for their next attempt. She nodded to her XO's words: "That's my plan nr.1!". She began to violently spin the helm, setting a course back to the docks when the screeching sound of some cat familiar drew her attention to the side. She saw the dark clad member of her crew getting ready to jump off-board. "Blondie! Wait! We're already retreating, there's no need to..." but she stopped herself mid sentence and frowned at the blonde's words and silently watched her jump overboard and swim towards another ship, a similar viking design like hers. A handful of artificial emotions swirled inside her but Selina decided to let out a long sigh and refocus on her task at hand; returning the remaining of her crew members safely to land. Biceps Archelon 2 Posted March 20, 2017 #120 Share Posted March 20, 2017 This floating piece of wood seemed to be more resilient than the king thought. But it wouldn't matter, in the end the king will prevail and stand yet alone, amidst his water territory. So it would prepare its attack again, as pair of its four eyes notices unusual activity on the deck of the ship that it was assaulting. Foolish bugs, they would sink along the pile of planks that was their vessel. As it did many times before, it gained momentum in a flash and while one head restlessly rammed into the ship's hull the other swapped through the deck, damaging the two players on board. Their HP bars lowered by only a bit but if they remained there, they would soon enough go on a journey to Davey Jones' Locker. The king would share its prey with none and it would subject his royal right over all of his territory.
