As FrenchToaster looked over the "beginner" mission given by the strange old man, they realize how difficult it will be to progress in this new world. "If I don't progress now, there will be no way for me to catch up to all of the players who purchased this day one...." Frenchtoaster looked Zakariah in the eyes, trying to tell if this was a trick or not, but after a few minutes They reluctantly accepted the quest, in hope that someone besides an npc was found at sometime during the quest. As FrenchToaster progressed through the quest, they quickly realized how boring non-combat gathering really was."I thought this was gonna be easier and a little more interesting, but this is the first quest in the game. I guess I will just have to put up with quests like this until I reach the second floor" FrenchToaster continued through the quest, gathering potion materials as the day continued on.

As FrenchToaster is searching around for potion materials, a random stick from their left side smacks ride into their head, knocking them out instantly, causing FrenchToaster to fall into the grass below, and lay there for multiple hours. Once FrenchToaster awakened, they started to freak out. "What was that?! What happened? Where did the sun go? Why am I covered in dirt? WHATS GOING ON?" A nearby squirrel hears the shouting and jumps off a weak branch right above FrenchToaster, causing them to get knocked out for a second time that day. FrenchToaster finds them self laying under a tree, and quickly rolls out from under it to avoid being hit in the head again. "I wish I was luckier than this" they say while searching for any blood. After finding nothing, they get up slowly to avoid hurting themselves any more than they have been. They quickly go back to searching for potions materials to escape the dangerous forest surrounding them. ID:78540 LD:1

Fix

As FrenchToaster searches quickly for potion materials, they kick up some dirt, and it gets into their eyes. "AGH! My eyes are on fi-" Their sentence cutting away as their eyes focus on a single potion material floating down to the ground. "I found one! I actually found one! After all the hours of searching, I have found one material!" All of a sudden, a gust of wind blows the potion material away. As it gets taken from FrenchToaster, a level 3 boar appears. FrenchToaster is forced to retreat to the safer areas of the forest, not wanting to be the first player killed during this quest "I almost had it... It was right there, floating like it was having he best day of it's existence, and then...." FrenchToaster trails on, complaining every step of the way about how Zakariah had set them up, not knowing that they quest item had secretly fallen into their inventory. On the fourth day of the hunt for potion making materials, FrenchToaster is still having no luck finding any useful materials. "I've been searching for days now, and I haven't found any other materials besides the one yesterday. I thought this quest was going to be easy, so I guess I'm just really unlucky." At the end of the day, FrenchToaster decided to rest under one of the many trees again, hoping to not be as unlucky as last time. As time goes on, FrenchToaster decides to sleep under the tree to relieve all of the stress from the previous few days of questing. While sleeping, FrenchToaster has a dream of finally getting one of the five potion materials. "Is this it? Is this the potion material I have been trying to find all of this time? FrenchToaster reaches out, and grabs the potion material, feeling all kinds of joy since they were one step closer to completing their first quest. FrenchToaster awakes from their dream, and realizes it wasn't a dream at all. "Wait, what is this new item in my inventory? Wait, what? There isn't just one, there are two new items? My dream was real? After that, FrenchToaster had more courage to go further into the forest and finish the quest given to them. ID: 78542 LD:16 2/5 Materials

Fixing a little bit

Frenchtoaster wanders the forest, in hope of collecting more potion materials, when all of a sudden a white rabbit appears from a nearby bush. "Hey there little guy? You lost or something?" The rabbit starts jumping away slowly, with FrenchToaster in close pursuit. "Where are you taking me little buddy?" As the day draws on, FrenchToaster rethinks if it was a good idea to follow this rabbit out into the depths of the forest. "Are you gonna show me something soon, or do I have to leave you to finish my quest? Immediately after saying this, the rabbit disappears, with FrenchToaster not knowing which way they the closest town is. "I'm now lost, with no idea where the nearest safe zone is, or how to get back there... I'm gonna be the first to die in this forest because of a tiny rabbit...." As FrenchToaster thought of a plan to escape the forest once again, a black rabbit jumped out at him, causing him to fall backwards onto his back. "What is it with nature and always causing me pain?" On the way back to the questing area, FrenchToaster finds a random bench in the middle of a forest."Why is this here? Does someone live around here, or is this a road to another area on this floor?" No answers come, and so FrenchToaster continues on without thinking of that bench ever again. Later on the trip back to a safe area, FrenchToaster thinks of all the ways thy can speed up the process of collecting the quest materials."If I could somehow level myself up enough to take on a boar, this quest could be completed in no time at all!" As FrenchToaster punches the air with enthusiasm, he realizes that he has been walking the wrong direction, going away from the questing zone. "Some days, I wish I had some luck, even if it was just a little bit.... I could get some nice loot with that luck..." ID: 78559 LD:8

FrenchToaster became aware that many plants were nearby, all looking like the required material. As he looked down at the sketch he had drawn of the material, and comparing it with the many plants nearby, he finally decided on which plant to take. Just before he took the plant, it shriveled up and died."What's going on? I wasn't told about that the plant could die." As FrenchToaster pondered the thought of this phenomenon, more plants started to shrivel. Soon, dozens were dying at a time. "Oh great, now I have to make a choice on which plant to take." FrenchToaster see's out the corner of their eye a plant 20 feet out. This plant being the only one that closely resembles the quest item, FrenchToaster starts to book it to reach the plant in time. Once five feet away, FrenchToaster pulls out their dagger and cuts at the plant, hoping to severe the plant's stem before it vanishes. "Why can't I find any more Materials for this quest? Am I searching in the wrong places, or have other players been here recently?" FrenchToaster goes to a nearby NPC Guide, who goes by the name Cole. "Hey Cole, can you explain to me what I'm doing wrong with this quest?" Cole Responds saying "Well, first you have to be in the correct area, and the area marked on your map isn't the same as the quest area." "Wait, are you saying I've been in a forest, being shot at by unknown archers for no reason?" "No, you have been in an area of Aincrad you haven't been to yet, and exploration is the best way to meet new people!" " -Sigh- Thanks Cole for all the help." "No problem! See you later FrenchToaster!" As FrenchToaster walked away, they muttered under their breath about how much they hate tutorials, followed by them tripping on nothing. ID:78561 LD:7

As FrenchToaster walked over to the correct questing area, they noticed an increased amount of online players. After walking past many players, FrenchToaster suddenly became energetic, and started sprinting to hopefully get another material for the potion crafting. While they ran, they checked the map that Cole marked for them, noticing the questing area grew and shrank. FrenchToaster suddenly stopped, wondering what was going on. "Why is the questing area expanding and shrinking on my map?" Out of nowhere, the questing area moved right on top of where FrenchToaster was located at the time. "This doesn't seem like something good is going to happen......" FrenchToaster hears a bird cry out due to it being startled by something over a nearby hill. Moments later, hundreds of players were seen running towards the new questing location, not slowing down for FrenchToaster, who was now in their new path. FrenchToaster sat up many hours later, woken up to a beeping caused by a new system alert being sent out. "Alert - Sorry for any trouble that may have been caused earlier, the gaming system bugged out when a new quest was added to SAO, affecting many other quest lines."  ID:78566 LD:3

As another day passed with no loot or quest items to be found, FrenchToaster retired to a nearby bench to rest for a while, stressed out due to the lack of progress made in their first few weeks. "Have I been doing something wrong?" he shouted at the sky, tilting their head back over the bench. After screaming as loud as they could, they notice behind them are several other benches in the near vicinity. Still shouting, FrenchToaster exclaimed "Also, why are there so many benches!" Being as frustrated as they are, FrenchToaster accidentally topples the bench backwards, and gets knocked unconscious with the bench laying over their body. After waking up the next day, they quickly clean themselves off and put the bench back where it used to be, and run away not wanting anyone to see them laying upside down in the dirt..... again, even though FrenchToaster has become the "new trend" among SAO players. As FrenchToaster wandered around the forest in search of anything to relieve their boredom, they find a sharp stick."This Stick looks like it was sharpened on purpose, I wonder what it's use is......" their thought gets cut off abruptly as a random arrow flies by, knocking the stick out of their hands. "What was that!?" All of a sudden, arrows are shot mere seconds apart, getting closer and closer to hitting FrenchToaster. FrenchToaster has no idea what to do, but finally gains the courage to run as fast as they can away from the incoming projectiles. They dodge to their right around a tree, just as an arrow stabs into it. "That was close, I have to be more careful than that." FrenchToaster keeps dodging back and forth between the many trees, trying desperately to not get shot in the back. Out of nowhere, FrenchToaster loses their balance after misplacing their foot on a loose stone, and they go rolling down a hill. "Where am I" they ask as they get up from the hard ground. Looking up at the sky, FrenchToaster realizes that many hours have passed since the strange encounter with the arrows FrenchToaster leaves as soon as they find out how to get back up the hill they fell off of.   ID:78569 LD:9

FrenchToaster wanders around the forest, watching little creatures in the wild as they run around, collecting food to survive. "I wish I was one of those creatures, so I wouldn't have to do all of this hard tiring work....Why do quest materials have to be so rare? All of my "friends" have gotten dozens of quests just like this, and a lot of them are super difficult to complete, yet I can't even complete this one...." FrenchToaster decides to wander around Aincrad's first floor again, taking in the sights, once again taking time away from the quest at hand, literally. After seeing many beautiful sights, like the many shops around the Town of Beginnings. "Wow, I didn't know there were so many different things to see, especially like the shops that are player ran. I wish I could become as successful as they are!" FrenchToaster once again punches the air, inspired by all those around him.    ID:78598 LD: 2

FrenchToaster remembers the task at hand, and returns to the quest area to advance in the VRMMORPG. "What is this?" FrenchToaster exclaims after seeing a rolled up piece of paper with random words and pictures. "What is this trying to say?" FrenchToaster is shocks after they find a picture with the quest area circled, with a arrow pointing to a red X. "Wait, is this a map of the quest I'm on, and what is this X here?" Being easily confused, but very agreeable, FrenchToaster decided to go to the large X, since it was close to his current position. After arriving at the X, FrenchToaster looks around for anything that may be out of place. Without looking for that long or too hard, FrenchToaster finds a suspicious looking bottle under another conveniently placed BENCH. "What ever could be inside this mysterious bottle under this bench?" By the end of the month, FrenchToaster had only been able to collect four of the five needed materials for their first quest. "Next month, I will need to try harder than before, so I can catch up on any time lost." FrenchToaster punches their fist into the air three consecutive times, becoming a new tradition for success. On the third punch, FrenchToaster loses their balance, and falls over into the dirt below. "Ouch. Why do things like this always happen to me and nobody else? Doesn't matter, I think I'm getting the hang of this."  As FrenchToaster proceeded to get off the ground, their feet slipped on a plant, forcing them to fall backwards onto the dirt for the second time. "Oh come on now! The first time was enough dirt for the day, but now this?" They angrily wipe the dirt away after standing back up, but they stop after seeing a light sparkle on the ground beneath them. "Is this what I slipped on?" As they searched the ground, they found out that they slipped on the last required material for the quest they were on. "Sweet! FrenchToaster quickly headed in the direction of the Town of Beginnings to turn in the materials obtained earlier that month. "Got.... to.... keep...... moving...... Got.... to..... turn.... in...... quest...." Once FrenchToaster enters the town, they fall to their knees, thankful for the safe zone they had just entered. FrenchToaster muttered a silent prayer, "Thank you town for being there when I needed you the most...." After the prayer, FrenchToaster got off of their knees, due to them regaining their breathe from all the running they had just done. With their last bit of energy, FrenchToaster sprints full force to Zachariah's house to get crafting. "BOOM!" went the door as FrenchToaster collided with it. Zakariah appears from the back, obviously shocked from the sudden burst of sound. "Oh, it's just you FrenchToaster. I'm guessing you have the materials I asked for?"  FrenchToaster responded gleefully. "Yep, and it was no sweat!" as they pant from all of the running minutes beforehand.

Zakariah quickly leads FrenchToaster to the back room, gathering up any expensive items, sensing something bad was going to happen soon. Once they set FrenchToaster up, they hurried out of the room and shut the door behind them. "OK, know, with all the materials I have, I just have t--" FrenchToaster gets cut off abruptly with a massive explosion right beneath them. "This is really bad" said FrenchToaster, looking at the destroyed room in horror. Zakariah enters the room, fully knowing this was the best outcome for their shop. After cleaning the room up, and FrenchToaster cleaning themselves up, Zakariah leaves the room, hoping that another blast doesn't occur. While cleaning, Zakariah accidentally leaves a rare item mixed in with the potion materials, called "Luxury Essence". "So now that I know what I'm doing, I can be successful this time. All I have to do is take this plant, cut it up into a few pieces, and add it to the water flask sitting upright to my left." Once the crafting occurs, FrenchToaster shouts ecstatically from their creation. "Wow! I didn't blow up again!" ID:78606 CD:7

FrenchToaster calls to Zakariah, hoping that the NPC would be proud of their first successful creation; a Rare potion! "What happened that you had to yell as loud as you did?" "I created something!" Zakariah rushes over and looks over the newly created potion. "It could use a little more work, but since it's your first try, it will do for now. Now, there is something else I need you to do. Please take this satchel to Lyle Tealeaf. They are a local blacksmith, and are in need of some extra supplies to create all of the equipment requested from a party about to raid the Third floor boss room." Oh, I guess this package is really important then. Best stay in the shadows to avoid any unwanted attention. FrenchToaster looks out one of the few windows of Zakariah's store, noticing that is was the middle of the day. "I'll wait here until night, so less people will spot me."

As FrenchToaster waited inside of Zakariah's store, the day quickly became night, and FrenchToaster headed out with the package. "I wish there was more places or areas to hide in, and at the rate I'm going at, I'll have to make half of this trip in the daylight." With the sudden realization that he needed to pick up the pace, they raced between the trees. FrenchToaster ran along a nearby player-made road, always making sure there was an escape route if any trouble occurred. FrenchToaster became lost after going a little too far into the neighboring forest. "OK, so at this bend, I went right, but on the left path, I ran in a loop? What's up with these pathways?" Due to the map glitching out and closing in front of FrenchToaster, they decided to walk down the road, hoping to find anyone with directions to deliver the special package they had been trusted with.

As FrenchToaster walked down the lonely, barely lit path they had found after their map glitched out, they encountered many other occurrences of errors. "Ugh, why couldn't I have found a path that connected two major cities? Oh well, this is my luck, acting up again...."  As soon as FrenchToaster finished their sentence, one of the few lamps along the path dissipated into thin air. "Wait, did that lamp just lose all of it's durability? I thought those were UN-breakable...." As they were caught thinking, multiple other errors appeared, including a bench fusing with another bench. "THE ULTIMATE BENCH!" FrenchToaster ran faster than ever before toward the bench, obsessed with benches ever since the day the fell off of one the first week of their new life in Sword Art Online. Upon sitting on the bench, all the errors occurring around them stopped, though they hadn't taken notice anyway. In the blink of an eye, FrenchToaster was transported right outside of Lyle's house.

Right after FrenchToaster was transported, they collapsed to the ground in a praying stance. "Thank you bench lords for sending me this wonderful gift, I will always bow down to you, and always come to you first when I am in need." As FrenchToaster finished praying, Lyle Tealeaf runs out of their house, and questions FrenchToaster about their sudden arrival. "You there, what skill did you just use?" FrenchToaster proceeded to reply, saying "No skill, just a little gift from my lord and savior, the benches." Lyle, being an NPC, and being Sane, doesn't question him anymore about his arrival. "Oh, that reminds me," said FrenchToaster. "I have a delivery from Zakariah. He said it was for a boos raid soon to come." Lyle accepts the package and chuckles. "Oh Zakariah, what a joker. This isn't anything special. It's just some iron I bought for crafting, but I do thank you for coming in such a hurry." Getting annoyed, FrenchToaster turned in the quest, and began to devise a plan on how to get revenge on Zakariah.
