Neephonite wondered around the town of beginnings for while a long just looking around and trying to face the reality of being trapped in sao. eventually she found the npc zakariah and took his quest deciding it was time to stop mopping and get her butt into gear. even if she couldn't make her way to the front line there had to be something she could do right? "so i need to find 5 potion materials and bring it to him" she mumbled to herself "i need to start exploring the outskirts of town". Neephonite made her way out of town darting though the streets yet also trying to make sure no one noticed while she was leaving by moving though the back roads and just avoiding major areas in general. it took longer to get out of town that way but it meant she was less likely to run into anyone else which is exactly what she wanted. despite knowing joining an mmo and wagering her life even more by playing solo, meeting people and making new friends isn't something she is very found of in a world as cruel as this. after spending months just wondering about the town of beginnings and exploring it's whole she knew the lay out the town much better than most but she hasn't to step foot outside of the safe zone since logging into sao.

Neephonite soon reached the edge of the safe zone the exit of the town of beginning. she paused for a second and took a heavy breath.  "a world right outside of safety yet full of adventure and wonder. that sounds too good to be true especially since everyone who dies out there will never see the world they called home again" she thought nervous. she took those final steps outside. each step felt heavier than the last until she final stepped out. she nearly tripped after that last step it felt like she could let go of that burden of fear she was outside the safe zone and was fine so far and was just outside of it she could just step a little bit father back if a player killer appears. she began to search about the wilds looking for tier one materials for the old man. she searched for a good and tried to find anything but stayed close to town. despite being out in world it was hard to step farther from town then she could easily backtrack. safety is always hard to surrender when it is this close.

she found nothing after searching for quite a while looks like she did have to venture out father if she ever wanted to find anything.

the safety of hiding in town wasn't going to help anyone especial herself "it would be better to die trying then to rot surviving" told herself to push her forward. "it's only the first floor anyways and right outside the starting town probably nothing even aggros yet". she pushed herself together and ventured out father looking any materials that could be used. she end up a good bit from town but too far that getting back would be difficult though not close enough that she could hide just on the edge like before. she was right the boars were peaceful unless attacked. neutral mods shouldn't been a surprise though. they are always in the beginning of mmo and she was no stranger to games. Neephonite actually made her own before getting trap in this mess. she quieted her restless thoughts and just focused on searching. the sooner she finishes gathering the mats the sooner she can go back and finish the quest.

and nothing was found yet again  but Neephonite wasn't ready to give up. she just keep searching and searching hoping to find something soon

after having low luck for a while she slowed down and looked much more careful. Neephonite needed to find 5 so she couldn't let herself even a break before finding at least one. her focus was fully there now nothing in world could disrupt her from her task. she searched more and more hoping it wouldn't be much longer but that wasn't the important part it was coming back alive but she didn't focus on that just on what was laid out before her. all she wanted was to find the mats and will just keep searching until she does and now looking at the ground she noticed a small hole wondering what lay inside hopefully one of the items she was looking for. she walked up to it and got down low and looked in. it was see in there but maybe something was down. it wasn't very deep just enough that she could reach inside but it was too dark to tell if something was at the bottom.

she reached in and found the something at the bottom. she pulled out the first of the mats she needed. she quickly sent it her inventory and continued the search.

even though it was small feat and probably took her long than it should. she had a bit more pep in her step. she went out of the town of beginnings and was actually doing a quest. it felt like a game again and not the horrible trap it was just earlier. more eagerly she searched not caring as much if she find the mats in the next spot but that she was having fun doing so. time she glimmer caught her eyes. she looked around hoping figure when it came from. she noticed it again coming from a low branch of a tree. she when over to look closer wondering what she will find. as she go close the glimmer started to become easier to see starting to take form but it was still far away so it was hard to make out. she kept walking to it until she could tell what was there.

it turned out it was a trick of the light it reflected off the tree somehow and cause a slight glare, but near the base she found another mat now she had two of the five she needed

she quickly goes back to searching. looking for any signs of more mats. she walks around look not sure where else something might be after she soon get worried about maybe being lost. she looks around for a little bit for something that might lead her back to town or at least a road she notices the path back and starts to move forward. but before even the second step she trips and falls. she was a little shock but pulled her self to together and saw what she had tripped on. she quickly grow wide eye upon seeing she just tripped on the mats she was looking. quickly stands up. put her third item in her inventory and moves on acting like that didn't just happen. she goes back on her way to fins the last two she need before returning to the old man. maybe her luck will keep up and will she return to town soon.

she started her search yet again starting to get tired of this running around but just think at the end of this she will have completed her first quest and maybe even level up. just one step on the way to the higher floors maybe even the front lines. the sooner she levels the sooner she will catch up. that drove her to keep this up and get this quest done and the next after and after until she makes her way up the tower to be able to at least see the 20th floor. her mind back to her search she began to look around. day dreaming wont make it real and she can't be distracted by a long off hope when the she still has work to do. it seemed the mats where littered all over here because she quickly noticed yet another just laying on the ground where she was. she grabs the material and moves on looking for the very last one she would need to complete her quest

she begins searching with as a great pace trying find the last material as soon as possible. as she keep looking she couldn't find anything. she just keep on but it seemed her luck finally ran out. she started getting tired and her felt like it wasn't going to done any time soon. an hour had past and she was really tired. running low on fumes she decide to rest for a bit. Neephonite sit down and looked at the sky and wondered "why does it look like the world is open and endless just like the sky when we are in a tower. most people would focus on that design and make it room after room inside a seeming endless building but this looking at the sky doesn't seem much different" she laid back just to stare it for a little bit then get back to work after like 5 minutes. she stretch out her arm and bumped something with her right hand. she looked over and turned red "i'm so stupid' she thought. the last material she needed was right next to her and she didn't even notice.

she decide to lay there still just for a few minutes and enjoy just staring at the sky. her first trip outside of the safe zone went without a hitch. she felt like she could do this. she could advance in the game. "just because i can die here doesn't mean i can't live here either" she said to herself. her spirit repaired enough to advance forward instead of just standing still but Neephonite has a lot of growing to do before she can get be ready to climb to the top of the tower. she soon stood up and realized she was so focused on gathering everything she didn't know where she. "okay now to open the menu... now the map.... ah i got to this way.. then i will be back at the road." she set forth to return to the town of beginnings ready to be done with this quest.

after running around for all that time she was happy to see thats she reach the town of beginning. she didn't even care about running though the back streets like she normally does. she just when right into town and walked the shortest path she knew to Zackariah's place. she just want to get there as quickly as possible she didn't the energy to worry about avoiding every main road and plaza. she keep pace but kind of dragging herself along. she got to the store and took a deep breath before walking in with a big fake smile. "hey old man i've got the items you wanted" she tunes out most of the npc talk and just waited for the quest update to pop up. "wait i have to craft the potion too? just my luck at least i don't have to worry about gathering more if i fail" she thought.

Neephonite sits down at the table and gets ready to craft the potion. as she begins crafting the potion the old man walks her though it and Neephonite follows the instructions word for word. she works hard hoping she has does it right the first time. with a bit of luck she just might too. she gets ready to mix in the final ingredient. she closes her eyes takes a deep breath and relaxes. with her focus fully present she add the last ingredient and with a great deal of beginners luck she finishes her potion successful though it wasn't of the greatest quality the old man was pleased. "thank you for all your help. this potion will be great for my shelves. i hate to ask more but could you deliver this package to Lyle Tealeaf? he is a local blacksmith. his smithy is not far from here"  asked Zackariah. "sure old man i'll go" Neephonite replied with a sigh.
