Since Soredell took the <<The First Few Lessons Are Free>> quest, he'd grown as a player, and as a person. He'd taken on harder quests, dungeons, even event bosses, getting better gear, leveling up, and generally learning more and becoming a better player. As a person, he'd definitely noticed a change in his personality, being the kind of person who needs to take charge. But sometimes, its important to get back to roots, back to basics...

As Soredell rested on a bench on a higher floor, he scrolled through his quest list. At the bottom, he noticed one that he never completed... Or at least, never started. A beginners quest called <<The Second Lesson, Is Also Free>>. It was a pretty easy quest, at least at his level. But regardless it still gave modest rewards. Some uncommon gear, a potion, and some experience. Experience was always a good thing to have more of. You can never have enough experience. Anything that gifted him SP would help him get to the front lines sooner. "Well, I might as well take a break and do these. It should be a nice change of pace." Soredell says to himself before heading off.

With a flash of light, Soredell appeared back on Floor 1. There were still many new players, all too scared to venture out into danger, but there aren't as many as the last time he was here. But he wasn't here for them. He was here for the quest. The quest was only a short trip away from where he was, in the Town of Beginnings, and assuming there's no interruptions, like someone trying to rob him of his quest items, he should get there relatively quickly.

As expected, the trip to where the quest is located is found takes very little time, the stroll going by very quickly, at least in Soredell's mind. On the way, he finds something hidden in an alleyway. A material. Who would leave a material here? Didn't matter now, its Soredell's now. Before long, he's arrived, where the quest is supposed to be located at the NPC Lyle Tealeaf's smithy. He opens up his menu to confirm the quest location, and to his relief, he's in the right place. "Alright. Let's get this out of the way quickly." he mutters before stepping inside the building.

Soredell walks into the store, it being the same as before the first time he came here, what now feels like an eternity ago. At the back is the NPC he needed to see: Lyle Tealeaf. As Soredell closes the door, Lyle lifts his head up, previously engrossed in his work. "Aye lad! Come over 'ere will ya? I'm busy working so I can't exactly leave my work right now." he calls out to him across the store. Soredell obliges, making his way over to him. "I believe you wanted some assistance with something?" Soredell asked, remembering how this NPC had wanted some assistance with something. "Aye lad. I'm currently working on armour and weapons for adventurers such as yourself, to protect them out in the world, but I'm running a bit low on supplies and I can't leave the shop. So, I need you to get the materials for me. Does that sound good?" Lyle asks, a pop up for the quest appearing in front of him. "Sure why not?" he says out loud 'Hell, I need the experience.' he thinks to himself. "That's a good man. What I need is 3 Boar Pup tusks. They're found in a clearing outside of town, and they're easy enough to kill. It shouldn't take ya too long I don't think." Lyle says, before getting ready to get back to work "Good luck! Come back when you have the materials on you!" he says, before going back to work, Soredell leaving the store. Outside of the store, Soredell notices yet another material next to the door. Strange seeing materials in towns, but doesn't matter, it's Soredell's now. With that, Soredell heads off.

While some things have changed during Soredell's time in Sword Art Online, other things would stay the same. In this case, that would be Soredell getting lost in the Town of Beginnings. It was difficult to traverse through the seemingly endless sea of players and NPCs alike, which resulted in Soredell getting lost several times. It does take him some time, but eventually, he comes to the exit to the Town of Beginnings. From here, it was just a simple walk to the plains where the boar pups were supposed to be. Then again, pretty much everything about this quest was simple, at least for Soredell and where he stands. With that, he begins his trek towards the plains. During his travel along a lonely dirt path, he notices something shiny in the grass nearby. Walking over to inspect it, he notices that it is indeed another material. He quickly looks over the material before he sends it to his inventory and continues the journey to the fields.

After about half an hour of travelling, Soredell finally arrives to the location Lyle mentioned. Apparently this place had <<Boar Pups>> spawning here, but as far as he could see, he didn't see anything. Just grass and trees. "Seriously? Might as well wait for them to spawn." Soredell mutters to himself as he props up against a nearby boulder and slides down, using this time to rest before the next mobs spawn. About 5 minutes later, Soredell notices some rustling in a nearby bush. As Soredell gets up, he sees that behind the bush is a <<Boar Pup>>. "Alright you dumb mob. Let's finish you off quickly." Soredell mutters as he readies himself. The pup notices this, and charges at Soredell, with him effortlessly side-stepping the pup's attack. Raising up his sword for a single cut that would easily kill it, he slashes down his blade smashing into the ground and leaving a cloud of dust. To his surprise, the boar managed to dodge out of the way before the attack hit. "Not bad." Soredell mutters as he prepares for his next attack.

Soredell stared down the  <<Boar Pup>>  he was facing, getting into a defensive stance. 'Now I remember exactly why I hate having to do combat by myself, because I can't just take down enemies by myself easily.remembering the hell that he went through that was doing the armour quest. God, that was not a fun experience for him, considering that he could have died then, as well as searching for the necessary materials. "Alright, lets take you down properly this time." he says, charging at the small pup with another swing. Right as he is about to hit, the pup dodged out of the way "Seriously!? Just take a hit already!" he yells in frustration. The boar hears this and charges him, smacking right into him. He feels the impact, but his health bar just barely shifts to the left. "Nice try" he mutters before kicking the boar away, not doing any damage, but just creating some distance between the two.

Soredell at least had managed to put a little bit of distance between himself and this pesky boar that didn't want to die. These mobs were level 1 tier in terms of difficulty. Regardless, he still should exercise a bit of caution. Getting into a stance once again, he essentially waits to bait the boar to charge him. The boar takes the bait and charges at him once again, but Soredell stands there and does nothing. At the last minute, Soredell simply sidesteps out of the way of the boar's charge. He then raises his katana and does a simple slash across the boar's body. With that, the boar is sent flying and skids across the ground, weakly crying out in pain as it explodes into a cloud of pixels. A popup then appears in front of Soredell as he is rewarded with a <<Boar Pup Tusk>>. Soredell smiles as his banishes it to his inventory, before turning his attention back to the field.

Soredell looks around the field for any more boar pups that would try to challenge him. Didn't matter either way, he'd kill them in one hit. It was all just a matter of getting lucky and getting the Boar Pup Tusks that he needed. Eventually he spots one roaming around. This one was a little bit smaller than the first one he challenged. Hopefully that meant that he was going to be easy to kill. Soredell walks up to it and prepares to slash at it, when in in a flash, the little pup charges out of the way. Soredell quickly side-steps the attack, preparing to slash at the thing, but he misses. This pup was faster than usual. It just meant it would be a little bit more of a challenge to take it down. That was probably a good thing. Where's the fun in killing mobs with no challenge?

The little boar pup that challenged him was definitely a tough guy. Fast too. It just kept dashing around all over the place, not willing to give Soredell a chance to even try to make an attack. Soredell continues to watch the pup as it dashes around, waiting for an opportune moment to strike. "Hmm, this thing is fast. Very fast. Just need to wait." he mutters to himself as the boar continues to dart around. After a few seconds, the boar finally makes a move and charges Soredell. Its small tusks manage to hit Soredell's legs, knocking him back, albeit just a tiny bit. With a final slash, Soredell cuts the boar in half, sending it flying before exploding into a cloud of pixels once more. It might have been fast, but it wasn't fast enough to dodge that attack, which killed it instantly. Once again a pop up appeared indicating that he had gotten another required material for the quest. 2 down, 1 to go.

It doesn't take too long for the third boar to make itself known to Soredell. The third boar looks to be a little bit heavier and larger than the previous two boars that he took down previously. Still didn't change the fact that Soredell was going to kill it, one way or another. Soredell then glances at his current health and energy bars. He's fine on health, but he's close to half way down on his energy. After he killed this thing, he'd need to take a rest before heading back, in the event that something else pops up. Wasting no time, Soredell charges the boar, intending to finish this thing, and this quest once and for all. He takes a slash at the beast, but the boar moves out of the way, the attack missing. The boar itself wastes no time in charging at Soredell, with him just dodging out of the way. All of his battles were just deadly dances, and as long as his 'partner' didn't keep stepping on his 'feet', he should be fine.

Soredell and the final boar pup continued to stare each other down, neither of them moving a muscle until the other made a move. For Soredell, it was quite interesting how the three boars he had faced so far all reacted to him differently, and their tactics were different based on their build. The first one was like any other boar, but the second was smaller and faster, so it would be able to move around quickly, not giving Soredell an opportunity to attack. The last one was more heavy set, moving slower but still looking like it is capable of dealing what looks like more damage to Soredell, based on how sharp its tusks were. The boar breaks the stalemate with a charge, Soredell isn't able to move out of the way as it slams itself into Soredell's side, doing little damage, but still leaving him sore. In retalliation, Soredell slashes upward with his sword, decapitating the boar, its body skidding across the ground while its head goes flying. Soon enough they too explode in a shower of pixels before another pop up appears, rewarding Soredell with his final material for the quest.

Soredell watched as the pixels of the now dead boar pup float up into the air into nothing, disappearing after reaching a certain height. Death in this game, for player and mob alike was almost instantaneous. No pain or suffering, no final goodbyes, just a sudden end. Those were the rules of this death game. Die and its game over for you, both in game and in the real world. No second chances or respawns, death was final. That's why Soredell needs to do all he can to get stronger, to be the best he can be, get to the front lines, clear this game and go home. But now wasn't the time to think about that, now was the time to head back. But before he can do that, Soredell needs to get his energy back. He looks at his HUD and sees that his energy is around half. Not a good sign. Propping himself up on a rock, he spends a little bit of time resting.

Soredell slowly climbed his way up to the top of the sizeable rock, eventually making his way to the top. This was probably the best place to rest and catch a breath, if only for a few minutes. He'd have a full view of the field around him, alerting him to any threats, whether it be mobs or PKers, and if they did get to him, they'd have to climb or be waiting around the rock. It was also flat enough so that if he wanted, he could just lie down. And that's exactly what he does. He just lies down and watches as his energy gauge slowly rises up. It wouldn't be too much longer until its back up to full and he can really head back. By now, the sun looks as though it's early afternoon, but Soredell cannot be bothered to check to see if he's right.

After deciding that he had rested more than enough, as indicated by Soredell's full energy gauge, Soredell gets up with a yawn. Its growing towards mid afternoon at this point, and its high time that he heads back to the Town of Beginnings. Sliding down to the bottom of the rock, he begins walking through the field back towards the Town of Beginnings, which isn't much of a walk itself. The walk itself is fairly uneventful, with a few boar pups running around in the distance. Some of them seem to notice Soredell, but none of them make any action against him, which is good. He doesn't need to deal with anything else right now. As Soredell draws closer to the end of the field, towards the main road, he notices sounds behind him. Looking back, he sees a much larger boar like creature slowly approaching him. It has various markings and patterns on its side, its tusks larger than anything he had seen before. "Ah crap, not now." he mutters to himself as he stares down the creature.

Soredell continued to stare down the creature, trying to discern at least what it was. The title <<Alpha Boar>> appeared above its head. This thing was going to be more of a challenge to deal with than the other boar pups that he dealt with, but it just meant that it was more likely to drop some much needed loot. Good loot too. The boar wasted no time in charging right at Soredell, roaring out as it charged. 'Too predictable' Soredell thought to himself as it charged him. Soredell simply stepped out of the way of the boar, taking a swing at the boar. To his surprise, the attack bounced off the body of the boar. It's mitigation didn't kick in, assuming he had any, it was probably nothing more than a bad swing that resulted in the blade essentially bouncing off the body. "Hmm. So that's how its going to be then huh?" he says, as he prepares himself for the next round of attacks.

Soredell isn't able to dodge out of the way in time, as the boar runs him down. 'Oof, I better keep the call for help on speed dial.' Soredell says as he gets up. In retaliation, he charges the boar. With one drawing slice, he slashes right across the body of the boar before falling back once again. To his delight, he sees the ever familiar spurt of red pixels emerge from the cut that he left on the boar as it cries out in pain. "Ah how I love bleed." he mutters to himself as he prepares for the next attack.

Things weren't looking the best for Soredell. He wonders if he bit of more than he can chew with challenging this thing. It was bigger, and it did enough damage to make him worried. Probably should have invested in armour with either thorns or mitigation. Too late now, he knew that he needed to be fast and hard hitting. Before he could worry about any of that, he had to worry about dealing with this damn boar. The boar reared up and charged at him once again, landing yet another hit on Soredell, but not running him down, just knocking him back a few feet. In retaliation, Soredell makes yet another slash with his katana, but he misses. But Soredell does have at least one thing going for him, and that would be the ever reliable constant bleed damage. Even if he didn't land any solid hits, at least he knew that he was dealing SOME damage to the boar.

Well, it was good to know that things were slowly swinging in Soredell's favour. He may have had a rough start with taking this thing down, but at least things were now looking up now. The boar in its simplistic programming charged at Soredell once again, Soredell simply stepping to the side to dodge the incoming charge. Waiting for the perfect opportunity, Soredell takes another long drawing strike across the side of the boar's body. The boar runs off before circling back from the attack. Unfortunately, the bleed effect was wearing off, and this attack didn't reset the bleed effect. 'I think that I just need one more really good hit on this thing, and it'll go down instantly, then I can leave. Hopefully it drops some good loot.' he thinks to himself, readying his stance once again, and preparing himself for hopefully the last attack in this battle. This has gone on for too long for Soredell's tastes, and it was high time to wrap this up.

Ok, scratch that. It wasn't going 100% in Soredell's favour. Then again, things weren't going well for the boar either. The boar was a decent distance away from Soredell when it began its charge. Soredell managed to dodge out of the way as soon as the boar was about to land its charge, being given more than enough time to react to its attack. In response, Soredell took yet another swing at the boar, only to miss once again. Soredell grit his teeth in frustration of him not managing to kill this thing yet. Soredell then notices that the area around him gets darker. Looking up, more and more clouds are covering the sky, the weather going from sunny to overcast. Soredell briefly wondered if it would rain before he got back to town, or even before he finished up the current fight against this boar. No time to think about that now.

Ok, it was time to finish up this fight once and for all, which has gone on for far too long. The boar charges Soredell once again, looking much weaker than before. He could tell that the battle was dealing its toll against the boar. A few more hits and it'll be gone and dead. The boar is about to make contact with Soredell once again but he manages to narrowly dodge out of the way once again. This whole thing was just a game of reflexes. Activating the skill Tsuji kaze once again, he makes another slash across the boar's body, dealing damage to it once again, but not activating the bleed effect again. If he did, he would have been able to take down that boar with that final attack. He would just have to settle for having to try and land one final attack against this boar.
