It was time to get some more materials. According to his calculations, he would need to have to get a heavy amount of materials in order to get to the top of the food chain in professions. It was possible through a few more hunts, but he planned to get this one a good amount of materials. At least enough to last him for another week. And because he thought this all of the way through, he made sure to have a lucky bowl of rice before doing this. It was going to be a much easier task now. If only he had search and detect maxed out, this would be the easiest task that the game had. Still though, this was going to have to do for now, and he was glad to have such a good amount of stats to help him out with this. And now it was time for the hunt.

Sey was officially ready to go on the hunt. This was the first floor he had to go to in order to get the materials he needed to make the better items. They were the second tier, which at first was just amazing to him. Now it was just common day to him. So with that said, he was rather used to this floor by now. There were going to be a lot of things to be made, and he would sell them at some decent prices to make sure that he was not overflowing with orders. It would be rather annoying to have nothing left to use, which was why he had the material gathering session now. Considering the boss was going to be high strength, he needed to make sure that he was prepared with things like fiber, to help him from taking any damage from the monsters.

There were a few berries on the ground. They could use a good plucking. He would take his right hand would and proceed to take four of them before the rest would end up shattering. They were no good, or they just ran out of time. Either way, they were not going to help him now, they were as good as gone. In these days, it was all about speed, or you ended up getting nothing. But there could be a chance of getting some more in a different area. With that in mind, he would proceed to look on the ground through the plants to see if he could obtain anything new. There were some berries, but there had to be a lot crops than this, right? It wouldn’t make sense to just have a patch of berries and leave the rest of the area bare, right? Or at least thought so.

The snow haired player would continue through the fields to see if there were any more plants. It seems that he was wrong, since the area was dead for now. At this point in time, one might have wondered why he might have thought of such a thing happening. With that said however, it was a better idea for him to just continue looking up. There were a few trees, and he would prepare to climb up the bark. It was going to take a while to get up there, but there were perhaps a few nuts located on it. If there were, they would show themselves to him. So he would begin with a strong grip on the tree, fortunately unable to feel any form of pain, allowing him to press his palms against it without feeling an inch of discomfort. And so he would gain a few feet.

It looks like there were a few squirrels on the scene. They each had some form of acorn in their palms. They would look down at him, and he would look back up at them. They would slowly crawl down towards him, and Sey was smart enough to keep himself from moving. The last thing he needed was for them to attack them, as they will definitely make him fall from where he was. And the fall damage was not going to be pretty. It might be a good idea to place on some armor, but it was unfortunately far too late for him to be doing that. Oh well, it was fine, he was going to survive. They would place the acorns on his head with approval before moving forward. The materials would then be placed in his inventory, and he would move up with them. Seems like he obtained some gatherers.

It looked to be a good climb up, the squirrels were giving him some more acorns, though they were beginning to do it in more of a rushed manner. The reason he thought this was because of the fact that they were just dropping the materials now on top of him. They seemed to go right into his inventory right after that, which he was very much grateful for, but he would prefer them to not end up hinder his progress while he climbed up the tree. Still though, the were helping him with his goal, and that was something he was not going to forget. So beckoning them was not the move that he was going to make, and that was the right call as well. With that, he was now just nearly halfway up the tree. It was a tall climb for a human, but it opened up options too.

As he made his way up, he noticed that nothing else was falling. When he looked upwards again, he noticed that his little helpers were not there anymore. Seems like they were taking a break for now. Or perhaps they were gone. Regardless, they were a huge help, as they were able to get him a decent number of materials for him to have now. That being said, he still had a long way to go if he wanted to make it upwards towards the next ranking that he was aiming for. That alone motivated him to keep pushing up. There were some more acorns located on a hole made within the tree, so he would take a few of them and ran the risk of being attacked by something within. Fortunately, nothing was daring enough to do something to him, and he would have a new set of materials.

Sey continued to try to move through the up the tree in order to try to get to the top trees. With that, he would then place his hands upwards onto a branch, feeling a small amount of energy with the amount that he had to climb. His strength was high, but not enough to climb such a tree within a shot. So he would place his palms against the branch and grip hard. With that, he would pull himself up onto the branch and sit down on it. The result would be a success, as the branch was thick enough for him to sit down on. Looking down, he would see a massive number of sights of the little trees below him. And above him, it looked like a bunch of flat leaves that made a floor of things for him to be interacting with. A secret space it seems.

He would continue to climb up the tree successfully, plucking a few more materials as he gained a few more materials. He was so close to getting to the top. A small rest had been taken, what he needed was a little bit more of a push. There was now enough energy for him to make it up all the way to the top of the tree. With that, he would place his feet against the bark before then pushing his palms on the bark of the tree. The animals were definitely not there, and because of that, they would end up no longer playing a role in his plan. They were enough of an assist, but they clearly had other things to do. And at this point, they would probably just be a distraction for him that was in the way of him getting to the top. Everything had its sole purpose.

A contract had been made by every single player that played the game. They gave up their freedom so that they can be apart of another world. While that was not what everyone thought of it to be, whether the game was a trap or not, that was just the reality. It was something he realized when he suddenly saw a few more nuts appear all of a sudden. It was not natural science, matter can just be made out of thin air. It was a choice they all made in the game, they were going to defy the science that they did not like and create a world on their own. If he had to think about it a bit further, that was just how the game industry worked. Players want something that they can’t have in a world they live in. So they went to a different world instead.

Eventually, he made it to the top. The tree had a bunch of leaves, so much that he jumped off and landed on them, and there were enough to hold up his weight. But not just his weight though, but a lot of the scenery around him as well. It was a beautiful sight in the skies, perhaps another hidden area that he was supposed to discover? There was not much for him to locate as of currently, considering his focus was still on the materials. Due to this fact, he was going to have to find the other things later on this area. But there was no doubt about it, the snow haired player was going to be coming back around to this place. It was a beautiful sight to him, and it was nothing that he could miss out on. Nature, it was a lot better than he ever remembered it to be.

There were a lot of fruit bits on the ground. The leaves. Whatever. The point was, there seemed to be a lot of things for him to have. At this point, his shop was just a bunch of shakes. He did not care though, they were the easiest for him to get, and they showed themselves in massive numbers. The game needed him to kill some boars for him to get some pork, and they did not drop any more loot anymore. That was something that Sey was unable to control. At this point, thanks to them being so weak, he was unable to finish them all off now. Placing his hands in his pockets, he would continue to look around to see if he could get something else other than fruit. If not, he did not mind picking them up from the leaves, they were fresh and did his shop wonders as well as increased his cooking skill.

With some more ground covered, he would pluck a few more fruit bits from the ground and place them into his inventory. The result of this would be a massive number of materials on a normal gathering day, all just because he ate one of the lucky bowls of rice he made. It looks like he was very effective in his material gathering searches now with such a meal. It made him wonder if he should go back into investing in the search and detect skill again. There was still two more slots available for him to fill, and they did not need too many skills points anymore. About three or four quests should allow him to get them, and then getting the materials would be the easiest task for him. Then again, there were more combat based skills as well, it probably would be better to invest in those instead.

He made sure that his steps were none too reckless. The branches after all were not supposed to hold too much force at all was the thing. If he were to end up doing something stupid like jump and slice down, it would be a guaranteed fall. Running was not too far from that in the list of stupid things he could do as of right now, and applying common sense, the fall would probably kill him due to the low mitigation and regen that he had equipped on him right now. So the next option of course would be to just move slowly. There was plenty of a fruit based items around here as well as all sorts of nuts, mainly almonds based on what he saw. Of course, he would not let them go to waste as he would pick them up from the leaves and put them away.

He wondered what else this floor was supposed to have. There were a lot of materials, but was that all of the content that this had to provide? It was a more secretive area that rewarded heavily to those who wanted some materials, but there was a lot of space here. There had to be some form of sight within the area, right? If that were the case, he would have to see what would happen if he were to interact with hit… Hopefully nothing like some massive boss. With that said, he would place his hands in his pockets and look around with is steps calmly pacing on the leaves. A few more fruit pieces would be kicked up into his inventory before he would continue to carry on. Unfortunately, he was not hoarding all of them so quickly like he probably should be doing. It was not in his nature.

As he continued to walk, he would notice that the same squirrels would pop up a few moments later, though out in the distance. They were just running around on the leaves, though when they saw him, they would immediately just run towards the other direction. An interesting development, maybe there was some more to them than he thought. There was nothing else for him to do anyways, so he should investigate. Of course he was going to take a few materials with him in the process, he would be very stupid to not do that. So he would add four more with him before he would proceed towards the direction of the squirrels. It was going to take him a bit to get there considering he was moving at a calm walking distance instead of an impulsive running distance. But hey, that was how things were going to be if he didn’t want to fall.

The fruit pieces were beginning to slowly disappear around him. The player around them probably would make them disappear. Sey was beginning to get how the material hunts were supposed to work now. Due to the fact that a player is around the materials, they would have some form of timer. Eventually, if the player does not claim them, they would begin to disperse. This meant two things. One, he probably should have focused more on getting the many materials around him. And two, the fact that not many players have been here it seemed. Or at least, no players have been around the area recently. It was not like climbing a tree into an isolated area was the most fun idea for a good time anyways. He continued to move as he saw all sorts of materials shattering around him, somewhat shattering his heart in the process as well.

There were still some though, and he would take advantage and proceed to put them in his inventory as quickly as he could. Seems like the focus on the squirrels have been lowered for the moment. But his goal would be to obtain the next ranking in the cooking profession, and he was going to make sure he had enough. Once he got up to the best ranking for a profession, he would be able to make a true profit off of the items. Whether that be in materials or col, he did not need the experience anymore, so he would just make the shop so that it was designed to make a profit. It was just the way the Yukino’s thought when they did business. Hm, he wondered if there was anyone like him as of currently. Maybe not, considering the players at the highest rank don’t have profit-level prices based on what he had seen.

Once he had his fair share of material plucking, he would step towards the direction he saw the animals moving towards, and as he did, he saw a massive amount of them located over there. A sudden palm would be placed on his shoulder from behind, and he stayed still, knowing that if this were an attacker, he were not to startle them. It would be suicide, considering their weight mixing together. Any more, and he was not sure if they would be alive. “Stand still and stay quiet… They don’t like it when you get too close to their territory.” A male voice would tell him from behind. He would then slowly walk back and away, not looking to get into a fight with the ones who helped him. They deserved a bit of respect. At least he had some materials though, and there was enough space where he was.

When the both of them got away, Sey would slowly place his left palm forward, only for that to be gripped upon by the stronger. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you, bud. Brokers who just saved your life tend to know a lot more than just information.” A fair warning, but one that he could acknowledge. Not because of those words, but simply because Sey did not have his gear. This person could have the best intentions, like his safety, or the worst intentions. Regardless, this person seemed to want something. However, since he was in a powerless state, Sey was not going to fight back against the being. With that said, he would turn around and notice that they had a few bits of fruit in their hands, outstretched towards the snow haired player. Seems like that was to make sure that he would shut up and not do anything stupid.
