The 'Lessons' quests, lessons designed for lower levelled players that help weaker players. She had, almost ironically, completely missed these and had focused on getting her professional instead. But, she had recently learnt that these lesson quests had a level limitation and, upon levelling up beyond level 15, it would be locked to her. So she realized that she should use those quests to level up herself when she could, and it would be a complete waste to not use them when she could. The Blacksmith walked herself around on the first floor, although, if she had to admit, she was slightly lost. Her navigation of the first floor had always been poor, and now that she was actively searching for something, it had suddenly become significantly harder to find. That was the way it always was, the second you wanted to find something, it was impossible to do so. As was her nature in life itself. "How is this possible? How do I lose an entire building? This just sucks so much..." The girl complained to herself as she continued to hunt for the Karariah, and the start of her quest 'The First Few Lessons are Free'.
Eatos 0 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted May 12, 2017 It took Eatos many minutes, but eventually, she was able to find the place she was looking for. Zakariah was a gentle looking old man, and she couldn't not smile at him as she walked through the door. So this is where she was to start her quest? She did wonder what it entailed, but regardless of it, the quest was recommended for level 1 players, meaning that is would surely be impossible for her, someone who had multiple levels and items under her belt, to die. "Hello, excuse me. Are you Zakariah?" She asked, to where he nodded in reply "I've heard that you're willing to help players?" "Yes, I am my dear" He replied. He looked over at Eatos "If you desire to help me, then I request that you help by gathering herbs for me in the nearby woods. Using these herbs, i'll be able to make potions" The Blacksmith nodded her heads. While she knew little of herbs, or medicine in general, what she did know was her ability, Gatherer, which meant it shouldn't take her long to gather the required materials. "Of course sir, i'll get right on it. I'll be back as soon as I can" The Blacksmith exited his house, and began to walk out towards the local hills. She knew that would be a good place to start looking for the herbs Zakariah wanted in his store.
Eatos 0 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 12, 2017 The walk to the nearby hills didn't take the girl too much time, only several minutes. The area itself had trees and seemingly unending grass meadows, it was truly a beautiful sight to behold. Even she, a girl who was born and raised within the limits of a city, could appreciate it. Or perhaps it was just because of her new life. She wasn't sure with herself entirely... "I wonder if..." She muttered as she walked into the meadow, allowing her mind to wander. She was questioning how different her life would be if she was born in the country, not the city. Would she have still ended up a book nerd? Would she have still ended up trapped in SAO? How different would her life be is something so small, something completely out of her control, was impacted in such a way? A realm of infinite possibilities, and ones that her absent mind often found itself exploring. After all, there was no need to deny herself it. However, her absence mind soon had her trip over a tree root and crash into the ground. She let out a frustrated groan as she looked up...And spotted..Herb?! She grabbed them, and added them into her inventory, and even started laughing. An error of tripping over had benefits, who knew? ----------------------- Roll: 84360 Loot: 10 (+2LD) = 12 <Materials Gathered> <Gatherer Skill Activated> Materials:
Eatos 0 Posted May 12, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted May 12, 2017 After she had tripped over, and almost been rewarded for it, Eatos had leaned against the tree whose root had rudely tripped her over. She had her eyes closed and just listened to nothing, allowing herself to day dream. The reason she wasn't willing to run around was because she was in no hurry, not only in this quest, but in SAO. She wasn't a combatant, not in the style of 'make a mistake and you're dead', which is what the higher floors of SAO promised to people like her. So her job was simple, support the other players and help them as they cleared the game. But because of that, she couldn't 'force' them to do the bosses. She'd supply them the best she could...Assuming anyone actually came to her store....She found herself pouting. 'I just need to level up a little, that's all. They'll come, I know they will' She thought to herself as she stood up and began hunting down the next lot of herbs that she needed to find in order to help out Zakariah. It didn't take the girl long to locate them, and carefully pull them out. Placing the herbs within her inventory, she let out a smile. That hadn't taken her nearly as long as she had expected it to...It was a nice change than normal, she was honest with herself. ----------- Roll: 84382 Loot: 10 (+2LD) = 12 <Materials Gathered> <Gatherer Skill Activated> Materials:
Eatos 0 Posted May 13, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted May 13, 2017 After successfully grabbing enough herbs, the girl began the long walk back to the Town of Beginners. This time, unlike when she had been looking for Zakariah, she actually knew where she was supposed to be going. So she felt extremely confident as she strolled her way into the town, escaping the wildnerness and entering civiliation. Within the safe stone walls, Eatos strolled through towards the lab of Zakariah, and her mind roamed around. The first thing she thought about, that first thought that consumed her mind, was the nature of players within SAO. The three main groups she'd defined were Assault, Utility and Survivor. The first group that she labelled as Assault were players who focused on combat. Players who served in the 'frontline' or were levelling up to do so. They were always getting into fights. Utility players, like herself, weren't focused on a battle, but helping those who were Assault players. And finally, she'd opted to name the group Survivor. They were players who were neither combat nor helping the combat players. They were heavily focused on simply living out their lives, and honestly, she couldn't blame them. If she was anyone else, she would have gone that way. Eventually she found herself at the door of Zakariah. She grinned, she hadn't gotten lost!
Eatos 0 Posted May 13, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted May 13, 2017 Eatos opened the door to the store, and was quick to spot Zakariah. The kind-hearted old man stood behind his desk working on what appeared, to the girl at the very least, to be some kind of elixir. Although, if she was entirely honest with herself, she had no idea what it was he was making. She was a blacksmith, not an alchemist, and while she could fully comprehend and understand the requirements of such items for players, she had no idea any of it worked. "I'm back Zakariah, i think i found all of the required items you needed" She said, opening up her inventory and brought it out. She placed the herbs she had managed to gather, and placed them on the table for him. The old man nodded his head, taking the gathered materials and moving to the side. "Thank you very much, brave adventurer. Now, i will ask for your help in the construction on a potion. I will show you how, but i will ask that you pay very close attention" Eatos nodded her head. While it wasn't her area, she knew that, in order to successfully complete the quest, she would need to make a potion.
Eatos 0 Posted May 13, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted May 13, 2017 Eatos let out a hum as she watched the old man work. She had to admit that, even as an old person, he had amazingly quick and precise hand actions. At least, that was her initial thought, until she remembered that he was, in reality, an NPC who was programed to be flawless. His every action was predetermined, she was still struggling to come to terms with that. That someone so human, who looked real, was not actually alive. She was struggling to accept that in her mind, even after so long here, that everything was fake. "So that's how you create a health potion?" She asked, as Zakariah finished creating it and held it up for the blacksmith to see. She took it in her hand, and even spun it around to see it from all sides. Unlike her beloved weapons, her infinite arsenal of relics that she could call upon in demands, potions were very different. The construction system was very different, the elements of construction differ also. "Indeed. Now i want you to give it a go. Use the supplies on the table over there to give it a go" The girl nodded her head, and did her best. In the end, she lifted up the vial and offered it to the old man. When he informed her that her construction was perfect, she grinned. Success! -------------- Roll: 84416 Craft: 11 (+1CD) = 12 (Perfect)
