Sky didn't hold back, as the vine came in he quickly ducked. It was the varient, the actual boss one. It had come out, and for the last minute it had been trying to hit him, the massive plant thing failing horribly. Sky was quick, and his armor's lightweight made it especially easy for him to just doge every singe hit thrown at him. He quickly dashed in afterwards, using his aggressive twins to jab it. He noticed that two had gone after the others!!! He quickly dissmissed the window that popped up, dashing over and using his Aggressive twins to kill the two that were near them. He stood straight, the red mist of the shards of the mobs around him. He checked his inventory, realizing he had gotten the mob drop needed.

"That was a little anticlimatic... I got the item, sorry for ending that fight so fast!!! If you guys want to get some practice go for it, il stay out unless your in danger"

"Oh wow that was much faster then I had expected! You made click work of that quest Stryder, nice work!" Gryas said, swinging his new spear around with an urge to try it out some more. He did want to get some more practice in, he felt he needed to if he was going to get strong enough to protect those he felt responsible for. That was the role of the Tank after all, people depended on them to keep them safe, but likewise a tank was nothing without good comrades to back them up. Gryas looked around and saw a few Nepents respawn within the trees. Gryas kept looking, those ones were too closely grouped together and he didn't want to risk getting all of their attention at once, He then noticed one that spawned just a short distance away, no other Nepents around it.  "Hey Zanne! Want to get some practice in? Just stay behind me and let me take its attention, you go for the kill!" Gryas called out as he began running towards the Nepent.

Gryas braced the assault spear against his side and charged. He put all of his force into a single thrust that pieced the Nepents body and seemed to strike a nerve. As he stuck however the monster lashed out with a vine and managed to strike him in the chest, knocking him back a few feet. His armour however held firm and took some of the blow. "Now Zanne! Give it all you got!"

"OK!" Zanne called back, drawing her dagger again and tailing Gryas like a shadow ready to strike the first opening she found. Gryas landed a blow dead center and Zanne was about to call out Nice Hit! when she was cut off but his armored body being knocked back towards her. She dodged to the side and began readying Round Accel, a dagger skill that she had never tried before. She lunged forward trying to activate the skill but something didn't feel right. She moved in to hit the Nepent but was off balance, the attacks natural movements didn't kick in like they should have and she spent all of her effort just staying on her feet as she flew past the Napent, landing on the far side. Skidding to a stop she turned and faced it again, ready for a counter attack but none came. Thankful, she crouched down and began to ready another attack.

Sky found a nice place to relax, cracking his back before falling down against a tree, watching the fight. He wanted them to learn how to handle themselves in a life or death situation. He was there, so if one of them dropped below twenty HP he was going to step in and end the fight in an instant, he hoped... Their was two of them, there shouldn't be any risk, and if the risk got to great, he would step in. 

He watched as Gryas did the role of a tank, getting the first hit and taking agro, though he took a brutal hit from a vine. He needed to learn how to take that better, it looked like his armor, though basic, seemed to have deflected the hit a little, though it looked like it still hurt like hell. He didn't want either to die. He watched as then Zanne tried to use a sword art, only to overshoot, the art not actually taking place. He called out to her.

"Use your instincts, this may be a game, but we are here, do what feels right!" He called out, hoping it would help a little bit, though he highly doubted it would....

Gryas fell into motion, the Nepent was paralyzed making it an easy target. He moved sideways this time swinging the point of the spear in an arc over his head before bringing it diagonally downwards in a brutal cutting motion, severing one of the vines clean from the Nepents body. He began to reposition himself so he could once again stand between Zanne and the monster, spear held out to the side and unshielded arm infront, ready for the next strike to come. The Nepent just stood there, frozen. He will need to thank Eatos for this spear, it cut through the air so swiftly and stuck with deadly precision.  Even though Zanne wasn't able to score a hit she attacked with blinding speed. A little more accuracy and he could tell that dagger of hers would do some serious damage to this thing. Glancing over at Stryder he noticed he was now relaxing watching the combat. The way he was sitting though.. Gryas could tell he was ready to move if the need arrived. It was time though for Gryas to prove his metal!

Faster. She had to attack faster! The movements still felt unnatural, still though she tried to activate the skill Round Accel again. Then it moved. Its paralyze began to wear off and she did all she could to avoid the flailing vines that flew out in all directions. "Dammit! I can't get close Gryas!" She grew frustrated but took a deep breath. She needed to stay in control and not lash out like that again. She took a step back, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. More focused now she opened her eyes and studied the creature once more. It moved towards Gryas and looked about ready to attack, hopefully he saw it coming too. Thats it... stay distracted, this time im going to cut right through your back! She thought to herself. "Good work Gryas! Keep it distracted and keep your guard up!"  She was impressed by how natural Gryas was able to hold off the Nepent, and he was handling his weapon like a veteran. She was confident they could win this.. She just needed to work out these sword arts and it will be over in no time.

Sky watched as Zanne missed again. It was a little upseting, she must not have heard him calling out how to use sword arts. He wanted to step in, he wanted to end this, though he noticed that the monster was..... stuck? It couldn't actually attack, then it hit him. The guy had paralyze, since he noticed little shocks coming off the monster this time around. He was a sneaky one, and he could tell he had potential as a fighter. He realized that he might have a team in these two, one seemed to be tanking, the other was dealing damage. As a three man squad they would do great!! And if he dragged Eatos in they would have a medic as well. He made the decision to bring them into the guild when he had some time spare. He wanted to bring them in, he could keep them safe and they would be a great asset to the team. 

I'l use this as a decider, weather to invite them or not... We will see how they go.

The Nepent was still just standing there, paralyzed from his last attack. Zanne began backing again as Gryas braced once more and lunged at the Nepent, this time however he didn't put as much force behind the blow as he should have as the tip of the assault spear seamed to just pierce the outer layer of the Nepents rubbery skin before stopping before it could do any damage. Grabbing the spear in both hands he jumped backwards a step and waited expectantly. He was ready for the thing to leap into action and attack back any minute now. He had to do better, he had to attack more swiftly next time and make sure he kept the monsters attention on himself and not on Zanne. So far so good, a few lucky hits either side however could change the flow of this battle quickly so Gryas made sure he stayed focused on the task at hand.

Zanne realized that the creature was still paralyzed, and noticed that this was her chance. She crouched low, spread her feet out a little wider this time and focused. Dagger outstretched behind her she paused, until she felt the skill begin to kick in. Her dagger began to glow a deep red and then everything just made sense. She was flying forward before she knew it with unnatural speed, wind swirling around her and centering on her dagger. She almost felt as if she passed right through the Nepent she was moving so fast, arms guiding the dagger like it was an extension of her body. She cut right through the side of the Nepent leaving a large gash in her midst as she skidded to a halt turning on the spot and ending up right beside Gryas. That sensation... It felt amazing! she used her instincts, just like Stryder said.. and it Just. Felt. Right.

As Sky watched, he noticed his energy had fully replenished. So.. He could fight a bit himself in a minute. He smiled, glad that he was going to be able to get his own loot. He did want to make sure these two were okay first, deciding to put off drawing some strong monsters in for a little bit. He watched as Gryas missed his strike, well, more like failed to put enough power behind it. He was a good tank, he could tell that he genuinely cared for his friend, and he knew that was a powerful tool, its been what has kept him alive this whole time. His desire to find his friends, and to survive this mess, he wasn't about to die.

When Zanne made her connecting hit, he was impressed. She did some damage, and she had felt the movements and done it right, something that meant she was well on her way to doing well here. He smiled, deciding to invite them both to the guild, if they wanted to join. He wondered if they would... 

He stood up, content that the two were going to be just fine, the monster was going to stay paralyzed for another turn.

The Nepent came to life at that point and began throwing vines out in all directions. Gryas however was ready for it, he could sense that the paralysis was wearing off and once the monster began moving again Gryas moved with it. He knocked a few vines out of the way with his spear in a sweeping motion and used the momentum of his movements to move his spear around him in a fluid arc before locking it against his torso and thrusting the weapon at the Nepent. He drove the point into the monsters flesh and heard it cry out in pain as he retrieved the spear swiftly and deflected a few more vine lashes as the creature tried to retaliate. A quick scan of the battlefield told him that Zanne still hadn't been hit and was also getting ready to attack again. Stryder had stood up for some reason, and although he seemed relaxed it put Gryas on edge. Did he see some kind of danger that Gryas hadn't noticed? He couldn't focus on that now however, he had to keep fighting and just hoped that what ever it was it wouldn't place any of them in danger.

Zanne was beginning to run low on energy, these Sword Arts were quite different to regular attacks and they took quite a bit out of you. Zanne readied Round Accel again and charged forward but this time she wasn't able connect cleanly as the sudden movements of the Nepent put her off. It seemed as if the paralysis had worn off and was now throwing out a full attack in all directions. Gryas seemed to have no trouble avoiding the attacks, he seemed to expect them. Unfortunately Zanne however hadn't and they threw her off balance enough to make her have to focus more on defense then attack, moving between the lashing vines she did all she could to avoid being hit. She figured she had one more Round Accel in her before she had to either take a quick rest or just focus on basic attacks. 

The monsters health was  a third down, it was now in the orange and it wouldn't be too long before they could finish it off. Sure it was slow work but at least it was safe.

Sky was quick to act against the two Nepents who were heading towards the others. They weren't just any old things, these guys were MASSIVE, they were easily loot mobs, and were way stronger then the one that they were fighting. He wasn't about to let it interfere with there fight. He dashed in, moving as fast as he could. He noticed them shoot there vines at him, in a perfect hit line. They were going to hit him!! Sky's reflexes kicked in, quickly turning his body while moving at full speed, managing to make the vines barely miss him as he dashed in, kicking off the ground and doing his Tornado Kick, doing a full three sixty before powerkicking the Nepents so hard it sent them flying back a few meters. He had forced them away from the fight, and it was his turn for a little fun, if they survived long enough to give him some.

Gryas saw movement out of the corner of his eye and spotted 2 monstrous Nepents heading their way. And then in a flash Stryder was there, delivering a devastating kick to both of them and placing himself between them. Gryas instantly regretted looking over at the two new Nepents. That moments distraction was enough to leave him dangerously open as the Nepent fell upon him with a barrage of vine lashes. He was hit square in the chest and was sent flying back, crashing into a tree and collapsing on the floor. Even though his health now moved down into the orange he was feeling more foolish then in danger, it was a lucky hit and he would not let himself get distracted like that again. Picking himself up as quickly as he could manage Gryas readied himself for the next attack with spear in hand and lightly dented armour. The creatures health was still lower then his, they can still do this.

"Gryas!" Zanne felt a moment of panic as she saw him go flying and his health change from green to orange. Activating her last chance to use Round Accel she charged forward in a torrent of wind, her dagger flying blindingly fast and hair getting blown back in the wind. She felt lucky, very lucky. For a moment there she felt as if she could kill this thing in one strike. She cut through the Nepent swiftly and saw its HP bar drop to about half way and landing on the other side she now saw what seemed to have distracted him. Stryder was sizing up against two abnormally large Nepents, he had already managed to drop them to half health though and seemed to not be in any danger. Gryas and her were another matter. This battle of attrition was currently going in their favor but a few more attacks like the one the Nepent just did could change that quickly.

Sky dashed in, and once again the Nepents tried to hit him, this time striking him hard, and brutal. They dealt a massive fourty two damage. His mind flipped, grabbing hold of both of them and pulling them in as hard as he could. He used his tornado kick, hitting them both so hard as he spun and kicked them that they exploded the moment his foot touched them. He got some col, and a... Really beautiful dagger as a drop. He smiled, glad that he had gotten it, he could give it to zanne.

He looked over, noticing that both Gryas and the Nepent were at orange health. The fight was going south, and he didn't want to step in. Not yet. He wanted them to be able to get some loot... and if he stepped in that would ruin their chances. They deserved the fight, they didn't deserve to have it taken from them like this....

Gryas readied himself once again and parried and attacked, it seemed like the longer he fought this thing the better he understood its movements. Gryas thrust again while he grabbed at a vine pulling the creature off balance and began circling his opponent. He knew he needed to speed this battle up because the longer it went the higher chance that disaster could hit, and he couldn't risk drawing in more of the Nepents into their location. Stryder had dealt with the two that had come investigating but if he had used up too much energy he would have to rest before he could safely defend them again. "Nice work Stryder!" Gryas called out to him. "OK Zanne we are half way there, your doing great!" She had been attacking with everything she had, at this rate she might start to tire soon. He thought to himself that if she asked him to take a breather he would be fine to hold the creature while she caught her breath.

Zanne had only the one energy left and all she could manage was a basic Armour Pierce. She crouched low and readied her attack, when she felt the energy build up inside her she released it in one go and leaped forward with one hand wrapped around the handle and the other one palm outwards on the end of the hilt thrusting forward with a vicious stab. She pierced right though its skin and was satisfied with the damage that she was able to do. Watching its health bar moved down a few ticks she backed up again and called out to Gryas. "He Gryas! How are you holding up? Think I can take a breather and get some energy for sword arts back?" She called out to him. She figured if she consistently kept attacking she would have a higher chance to keep landing hits bit if she managed to land another crit like that on a better sword art it would do a nice bit of damage.

Sky looked around, sighing, his energy slowly returning to him. He sat down again, watching the fight. He had hoped after he killed them a chest would appear, but it hadn't, meaning they weren't getting any cool loot this time around, other then the dagger... He pulled it out, having a look at the beautiful dagger. He wondered if it would help Zanne, but he had no idea.... He shrugged, opening up a trade window and sending a trade request to her. Sure, she was in the middle of combat, but it wasn't' agro'ed on her, and she needed new gear. He sent the dagger over, hoping she would equip it. He didn't want to directly interfier, and he wasn't even in the fight, but this was a way he could help until he needed to run in hard. He knew he could one or two shot that thing, easily, if he needed to his Flash Punch would be enough to get the job done, he hoped.

Gryas ducked under another vine ad knocked aside another as he continued to move back and forth in battle with the Nepent. Zanne then called out asking how he was doing and if she could recover some energy. He was happy for her to of course, this battle was going to be a long one anyway and if she was able to do some Sword Arts it would speed it up. "Take as long as you need! I got this guy!" Gryas called back. He was able to hold the Nepents attention for some time before he would need to heal, and as long as he focused on defense he shouldn't be in too much danger. Another attack came in and Gryas batted it to the side and went in for a stab but the Nepent managed to wrap a vine around his right arm before he could connect, halting it in its place. Grabbing the vine in his left he managed to free himself and jump out of the way just as another attack came in. Definitely needed to focus on defense for a bit! The monster was so close though, the health bar was almost 2 thirds down.
