[PP-F11] Dungeoniers Arise! <Itzal, Shield, Sey>

Itzal watched as Shield ensured that the monster's would focus on him and nobody else.  He had enough to last the rest of the fight Itzal believed.  He might be able to help deal some damage when his turn came again.  He nodded to Shield's suggestion.  "Right now that would be the most logical answer.  And Sey, reason is because we've gained lots of strength in damage.  However now that my charge is used up my damage won't be too strong anymore."  He rushed forward and prepared to release Shadow Explosion, his sword igniting in lightning a second time.  Velnia aided him as he struck the hornets that were beginning to move again and dealt another critical hit on them, reapplying bleed and paralysis.  The hornets fell to the ground again and he turned to the others.  "Come on!  Let's finish this!"  He watched the ants as they continued to attack the larvae.  They seemed merciless, and anxious to kill their own.  Itzal felt that there should have been some sign of regret though.  So why wasn't there?

Shield found himself once more standing in the midst of a crowd of grounded hornets. They were clearly almost in their red health bars, but with the situation of hate already sorted and the issue of damage well in hand, this left him very little to be concerned with regarding the battle. He isntead decided to investigate the 'blood' that the insects had spilled. It was unusual to see any sort of secretions, or at least it was for him. Even when he had relied on bleeding weapons, he had only ever seen it as a draining away of blood-red pixels, never any sort of actual fluid.

He did not touch them, but he bent nearer to the pools of blood to inspect them. His nose crinkled at the smell of the stuff. It was acrid and offensive in smell, which was about what one would expect from such creatures.

"I have no idea of what to make of this," he said to himself.

It seemed like they were lowering on the health. It was time to put a finish to them. If they could stack up a little bit more damage at a time, they would end up with the final result of being able to end up with a lot of loot from them. Considering this was a dungeon they were in, the skill points would be increased by a small amount as well, and for him, that was always a great thing. Placing the spear up once again, it would begin to glow in blue light. It would connect through the chests of the monsters once again, sending them flying backwards before he would then jump back from them. They were having more green substance emitting from their bodies from that, showing that they were not having too good of a time with the stacking hits. Still though, it did not seem like that would be any good.

Itzal knew that they didn't have any time to observe the blood of the hornets in this instant, but he was still very curious.  So while Shield caught their attention and Sey landed his sword art on the four, Itzal ran up and pulled out a glass vial, letting some of the blood drop into it.  He wasn't an alchemist, but perhaps he could find a player who had ranks in that profession who might be able to discern what it was.  Itzal watched as their wings began to vibrate some more and he leaped back before the hornet stung him.  Velnia blocked the others from attacking Itzal by shooting a stream of weak chain lightning to surprise them.  After that Itzal released Shadow Explosion and dropped their health close to zero.  If Sey landed another attack Itzal would be able to finish them off and, hopefully, get them some decent loot from this fight.  It seemed the ants had finished killing all of the larvae and were retreating back through the entrance.

With the trickling of the away of bleeding effects and the one-two punch of Itzal and Sey's attacks, there was next to nothing left to the vespian attackers. Shield welcomed their attacks, opening his arms out wide in hopes that his thorns and flame defenses might make a significant dent in their remaining health.

Unfortunately, even with the obvious opening, they failed to overcome the disorientation of their recent paralysis. The leader dipped, losing control of its flight and clipping the head of the nearest insect. That hornet in turn flipped in midair, its abdomen colliding with the other two. The once fearsome looking enemies spiraled into a heap on the ground, the tangle of wings and fat bodies struggling to free themselves from one another as they writhed on the floor.

"Huh..." Shield thought aloud, scratching his head. "Somehow, I was expecting a little more... damage."
