Macradon 0 Posted June 27, 2017 #41 Share Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) Looking at the trajectory of the Hobgoblins’ attacks, Macradon was worried that Hirru would be target too much for him to be safe, so Macradon would try to do something about that. Quickly shifting from heavily aggressive, Macradon would go for a lesser supportive role and cover Hirru from getting attacked when his energy was low, Macradon did not suffer the same problem, as his levels surpassed Hirru’s enough to have a lot of energy in his reserves. With vicious swings and powerful attacks, Macradon would leave the Hobgoblins in defensive stances, making them unable to actually make any offensive strikes towards anyone, Hirru in particular. “Hikoru, Itzal! Try to do something about this!” he said as he kept deflecting any attacks they would try to make, making big opening for the others to take advantage of, albeit Macradon would’ve been the one to actually attack, he just didn’t see the actual way he could attack without imposing danger towards the Hunter. Hirru 0 Posted June 27, 2017 Author #42 Share Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) "Is it me, or am I beginning to think that we're just dozing off in some sort of dream land, which is why EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG!" The hunter piped up when he noticed the lack of action that was happening on all fronts. Although, Capt. Mac was attacking the mobs to bait them away from the hunter, he was still missing and contributing little to the fight. Hikoru had slipped away somewhere, hopefully doing something good; and, Itzal was pretty much being blocked on all fronts by Mac whenever he would try to attack. The hunter had wasted all of his energy already and Anemone couldn't harm a fly, though, she still did her part. "Capt. Mac! Concentrate on the main body instead of the head. Itzal, just move around Mac's wide swings. It's easier than you think. Hikoru.. get out of hiding and attack something! Anemone..." The hunter had to think about for her. "Keep doing what you're doing." - Health List - [H:0]< Macradon > 1335/1335 HP || 111 MIT || 19 DMG || 61/132 NRG (-2 NRG, +1 NRG)[H:2]< Hirru > 975/975 HP || (78)MIT || 14 DMG || 1/96 NRG (+12 Mit Buff, +1 NRG)[H:0]< Anemone > 780/780 HP || 0 MIT || 0 DMG || 33/78 NRG (-8 NRG, +1 NRG][H:0]< Hikoru > 1315/1315 HP || 84 MIT || 22 DMG || 101/130 NRG [H:0]< Itzal > 1,260/1,260 HP || 3 MIT || 15 DMG || 53/126 NRG - Monster Health -< Hobgoblin > 390/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || < Hobgoblin > 544/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || < Hobgoblin > 544/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || < Hobgoblin > 544/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || - Loot Acquired - Mats: 15 T3. Anemone 0 Posted June 27, 2017 #43 Share Posted June 27, 2017 Anemone had flailed her arms when Macradon's wild swinging of that huge sword came around in an arc. She was no where near him thankfully, and stayed as close to the reach as she possibly could. However her heart still leapt from her chest everytime he swung and missed his mark. The woman skittered across to the player as her hands began to glow an ominous red, "I'm gonna Sharpen that blade, try not to hit anyone with it though!" she said in a very serious tone as her crackling hands moved towards the player and aimed the energy at him. Even if he was missing, eventually, he would land a hit and that extra damage was going to help them finish this fight off quicker. Already these Hobgoblins were having their fun with them, poking and teasing the Front Line party. The woman puffed her cheeks a little when one of the Hobgoblins came by around to Macradon's side. Lifting her foot in a kicking motion, she nearly swatted the creature in the butt but missed horribly and almost fell into a pile of mud. "You!" she said pointing her finger at the tricky creature. - Health List - [H:0]< Macradon > 1335/1335 HP || 111 MIT || 19 DMG || 61/132 NRG (+3 Dmg Buff [0/2])[H:2]< Hirru > 975/975 HP || (78)MIT || 14 DMG || 1/96 NRG (+12 Mit Buff, +1 NRG)[H:0]< Anemone > 780/780 HP || 0 MIT || 0 DMG || 26/78 NRG (-8 NRG, +1 NRG][H:0]< Hikoru > 1315/1315 HP || 84 MIT || 22 DMG || 101/130 NRG [H:0]< Itzal > 1,260/1,260 HP || 3 MIT || 15 DMG || 53/126 NRG - Monster Health -< Hobgoblin > 390/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || < Hobgoblin > 544/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || < Hobgoblin > 544/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || < Hobgoblin > 544/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || - Loot Acquired - Mats: 15 T3. Itzal 0 Posted June 27, 2017 #44 Share Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) It was growing to seem that their party was running into some bad luck, karma, or other negative situations. Player after player seemed to be missing their target and somehow Itzal had a feeling that he would be landing a miss too. He heard Hirru let out some of his frustrations through his voice before relaying instructions, calling Macradon captain. He told Macradon to focus on the body and not the head, which made sense to Itzal since they seemed to be missing. Landing a hit was better than risking misses in an attempt to land a critical. He turned to Itzal and told him to try working around Macradon's wide attacks, that they were easier to avoid than he'd think. Itzal knew that well enough, he loved studying tactics and strategies. While he admitted that Hirru was an excellent tactician, he wished the guy could ask people to do stuff rather than just command them. But whether it was his own personal way of doing things or how the KoB operated, he still needed to spend time with them to determine it for real. As suspected, while he was able to evade Macradon's strikes, the monsters seemed to be able to evade his own. Hikoru 0 Posted June 27, 2017 #45 Share Posted June 27, 2017 After zoning out for a few moments, Hikoru comes back to the scene when he hears his name called. He reacts quickly, moving rapidly and striking one of the Hobgoblin's and bringing it's health down to the orange stage. He backs away silently and takes a look at everyone's health. Things seemed okay, but people's energy reserves were low- very low. He had the highest amount out of all of them, and Hirru seemed to be at but a sliver of energy. He looked at him with a nod. "Sit out for now. Worry about your energy reserves. If it comes down to it, run away. As cowardly as it sounds it could save your life. Healer or not, there is always the chance that they could crit you and bring your health down too low for her to heal all the way." He looked at Anemone "Not that I doubt your healing skills, that's just how games work. There's eventually a point where healing can't regenerate all the health a person has." He sighed once more and gripped Limbo's Fang. "Let's play this safe, and watch each other's backs. There's no telling what could happen next." Macradon 0 Posted June 28, 2017 #46 Share Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) Quick movements ended in no attack being able to escape from his proximity, the Hobgoblins had no chance of actually doing anything to their main target, Hirru, but Macradon was skilled enough with the blade that he could make sure they wouldn’t be able to launch any attacks without being deflects, blocked or even attacked themselves, but they then took the reckless move to actually get to their foe. They quickly jumped for an attack, and Macradon reacted accordingly. Throwing 6 heavy swings that would take out one of the Hobgoblins, leaving 3 of them behind that would jump on Hirru, slicing with their weapons, hacking down his health down tremendously. “[censored]” Macradon thought as he looked at Hirru’s health slowly dipping down. “Anemone, please take care of Jade Hunter, I’ll try to do something about them” he said and began to ready another attack at the 3 lone goblinoids. Hirru 0 Posted June 28, 2017 Author #47 Share Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) The time had come for all of their bad luck to come to a flurry of good. Hikoru finally coming out of the shadows to deal some well deserved damage against the hobgoblin that the hunter had weakened only moments before. Captain Macradon rest his blade into the hides of the many demi-humanoids to finally break his weirdly uncharacteristic streak. Of course, with all of his prior missing being to mostly misdirect the enemy from attacking the hunter, it seemed that last hit was not going to let it slide. The surviving hobgoblins tore into the hunter, making him wince from all the damage taken, but thankfully it was still over enough to survive a few more hits. By then, Anemone should have healed most of what was dealt to him. At times like this, he wished that his Matron Wolf would still regen his health like old times. Keeping nostalgia to a limit though, they had three more mobs to deal with. "I'm not backing out so easily. Hik, take down the next one, if possible. Itzal, also go for single targets for more damage possibilities. Capt. Mac, I'm with you all the way. Anemone 0 Posted July 11, 2017 #48 Share Posted July 11, 2017 It helped for times like these to have a solid support line. Anemone had been frightened, but not to the point where she was into submission. She would not simply roll over while everyone else fought bravely on. Putting on her Game Face, the Healer set her cross-hairs on Hirru, the Jade Hunter. With her hands pulsing with that healing aura, her aim was to him and gently the supportive heals began to rain down over him and solidify him in a healing state. However, this fight had to end soon or she was going to be out of energy herself and the last thing anyone needed was for the Healer to be out of Points of any kind. While she did make a small cheer for herself, she would not be here doing this dangerous job. "Everyone! We are doing great, remember, we have the whole of Aincrad on our Shoulders. We must continue on! There is no failing them!" The way she had said to would make it sound like words of encouragement, to give them something to remember that they were not just fighting for personal gain. This was for them to push forward into the next floor, but she then had thought about how massive the burden was. But she would not shake her knees in fear of it. This was what she had been destined to do. - Health List -[H:2]< Macradon > 1335/1335 HP || 111 MIT || 19 DMG || 50/132 NRG (-12 NRG, +1 NRG)(+3 Dmg Buff [0/2])[H:2]< Hirru > 810/975 HP || (78)MIT || 14 DMG || 2/96 NRG (+12 Mit Buff, +1 NRG, + 195 HP)[H:0]< Anemone > 780/780 HP || 0 MIT || 0 DMG || 17/78 NRG (-10 NRG, +1 NRG][H:1]< Hikoru > 1315/1315 HP || 84 MIT || 22 DMG || 91/130 NRG [H:0]< Itzal > 1,260/1,260 HP || 3 MIT || 15 DMG || 35/126 NRG - Monster Health -< Hobgoblin > -173/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || (-264 HP)< Hobgoblin > 280/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || (-264 HP)< Hobgoblin > 280/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || (-264 HP)< Hobgoblin > 280/670 HP || 0 MIT || 198 DMG || (-264 HP) - Loot Acquired - Mats: 17 T3. Macradon 0 Posted July 19, 2017 #50 Share Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) Looking at the ever so slowly dipping health of the Jade Hunter, Macradon would ready his blade for yet another flurry of blows, this time making 100 percent sure that he would not miss another attack and make another great streak of not hitting. He would quickly take in a deep breath as he launched forward with his two-handed greatsword, dealing massive damage to the last 2 hob-goblins that were left. Their health fell to red, then … gone. They would scatter in crystal polygons and disappear from their presence. He would lower his head and exhale deeply. “Am I not doing this right? Am I not fit for commanding small troops, or is it just because I’m in a bad shape … I should hone my edge some more … back to the 7th floor again after this ordeal” he muttered for himself, making sure it wasn’t audible other than muffling through the helmet’s visor. Looking over the warriors around him, he would make a great nod at them all. “We did well, let’s take one break, maybe 30 minute, tops, and we’ll finish off this labyrinth and get those pesky fragments” he said, hoping that everyone else needed a break as well, at least he knew that the Hunter wanted a break to regain the energy. Hirru 0 Posted July 22, 2017 Author #51 Share Posted July 22, 2017 The fight had ended and the battle fully won for them, they could all enjoy a small respite for the time being. The hunter took a casual sweep of the area using his many search based skills to find anything off about the area, but there would be nothing else to be seen. No mobs to storm them or anything that could be considered a trap. With that knowledge, the hunter's illuminated green eyes returned to their natural aquamarine, while he gave a long sigh. "This floor really seems to be pushing my limits. I've had expend my entire energy supply several times on hunting anything up here." The hunter groaned while walking over to Capt Macradon. He was worried that the last few minutes were taxing on him, or what the hunter could discern from the scarlet knight's actions from that time. He couldn't see the man's face through the helm, but the hunter knew the face well enough. Anemone and Itzal should be about as tired as he was, while Hikoru should be the more fit for continued duty, seeing as he doesn't have the AOE and supplemental abilities like the rest of the group. Hikoru 0 Posted July 22, 2017 #52 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Hikoru watched as Macradon finished off the last hobgoblins, and he sheathed his dagger for the time being. This had been going well, and he knew that they were almost done. He pulled up his cloak and prepared for stealth once more. The rest of them needed to rest to refill their energy reserves. He on the other hand was fine, and could continue fighting the other creatures. He gave a shrug and a small sigh. "I'm well enough to continue. I ask all of you to stay behind until all your energy is regained, and if you come I will send you back here, but you won't like how it ends up for you. Play this safe, and leave me. If I need to run I can retreat easily." He said while he walked away. He entered stealth and soon disappeared into the darkness, rounding a corner of the cave and moving forward. He searched for creatures and hoped that he could take one out easily.
Hirru 0 Posted July 24, 2017 Author #53 Share Posted July 24, 2017 (edited) The hunter didn't understand what was going on in the last part of Hikoru's speech, but he figured from the first part that he was going forward to map out what else he could while they were busy during their rest. It was easy to figure out that they were not going to be able to do a long battle like that again after so many successful fights. It was beginning to look like they should start bringing energy saving food to counter the long standing wait. The hunter nodded towards the direction that Hikoru would vanish to. "Alright, I'm sure that you'll be fine. We'll catch up to the next intersecting corridors, if anything we'll find you by then." The hunter said aloud before sinking to the ground with a bottle of water in his hand. With each sip, he was also looking at the rewards given by the accumulative battles thus far. They had quite a haul, from the looks of it. Everyone should be happy with what can be divided between them, or what could be divided by guilds. The hunter thought about that while also looking into the energy consumption of all his moves to now. There had to be a better way to use all of them. Macradon 0 Posted July 24, 2017 #54 Share Posted July 24, 2017 Finding a small rock in the labyrinth, Macradon would proceed to sit on it, using it as a makeshift chair. Quickly doffing his helmet, Macradon would swipe through his alabaster hair as small beads of sweat covered his forehead and hairline. He had used a lot of energy himself, nearly down to its red zone. Looking at the Jade Hunter, Macradon would nod in agreement “I’ve felt that as well when soloing the labyrinth last floor, it’s beginning to really become difficult to solo, so teams like these are becoming really important” he said. A deep sigh would escape his mouth “Yes, I’m alright, thank you” he said with a hearty smile at the Hunter. Looking over at @Hikoru, macradon would hesitate lightly “I think that would bee too dangerous without a tank, these mobs are really strong, but if you trust yourself, go for it” he said, even though the mobs didn’t really touch Macradon, they would probably be able to deal some damage to the Master of Shadows. Donning a smile, Macradon would look at @Anemone and thank her deeply. "Thank you for the supportive role, Anemone" he would say and continue "You're doing this really great, I'm enjoying having you on this missions, you're elevating this mission to a different height with heals and damage buffs, it's really great". Without much else ado, Macradon would make a nice wink with his face in a friendly gesture. Looking back at the Jade Hunter, @Hirru, Macradon would begin to think about his tactics of their team. “This might be too late to really think about now, but for future notes. If I lead the attack with my Tracking, we might be able to grab a few seconds, perhaps a full rotation, where we can engage freely. If I unleash <Tempest>, I can stun the mobs while also dealing solid damage, while they’re stunned, we can attack them until they’re recovered from the shock” he noted, making sure his attacks would be efficient. Hikoru 0 Posted July 24, 2017 #55 Share Posted July 24, 2017 (edited) Hikoru made his move, swiftly attacking the Hobgoblin from behind. He attacked multiple times, seemingly coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. The hobgoblin screamed in pain, the echoes reverberating off the walsl multiple times before he was finished his attacked. In one blow, he had brought the hobgoblin's health down past the halfway point. He smied proudly, as he knew he would be fine. One more blow and this thing was finished easily. He backflipped as it tried to attack him, but it was far too weak and too slow to keep up with the Master of Shadows. He just gave out a small sigh. Nothing was a challenge anymore, nothing except bosses and things of that nature. He wished he could find something that could challenge him, but nothing like that could be found these days, not even on floor 21. He mentally shrugged and brought his mind back to the fight, ready to finish off this little creature ID: 87189 BD: 3+3=6 Hit! (Disregarded due to Surprise Attack) MD: 7-2=5 Miss! Itzal 0 Posted July 29, 2017 #56 Share Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) Itzal was catching his breath, focusing on recovering his energy so that he could join the next fight, although it seemed that Hikoru had chosen to move on. He was going to talk with the others when he noticed Macradon speaking to his guild members. None of them looked to Itzal. He looked at Velnia and shrugged, choosing instead to walk over to the wall and lean against it while standing up, his sword in the ground. It seemed that while he was a front liner, that would never actually make a difference. Still, this was fine as he was here to help players reach the end goal. He wasn't here to become famous, or gain acceptance or anything like that. He was pretty much used to this from his life outside SAO. At least these people weren't mocking or bullying him. And besides, he had Velnia, Kasier, Jonathan, Aereth, and several other players whom he'd made friends with. They weren't front liners or deadly forces of Aincrad, but they were his friends. And that was enough for Itzal. With that on his mind, he smiled.[1/3 energy revival posts] Edited July 31, 2017 by Itzal
Macradon 0 Posted July 31, 2017 #57 Share Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) Relaxing as always, Macradon thought of how close they actually were to clearing this labyrinth so they could come to the next floor, they just need to get through here today and fight the boss with the rest of the frontline to clear it. Letting out a deep breath, Macradon would lean up against the stone walls of the labyrinth and just watch Hikoru take care of a few monsters, it was still taking a bit of time before Macradon would be able to fight at his full self again, but if they opportunity did arise, he would make sure he would be able to clear this as fast as possible, if he just had to take out a single monster with all of his remaining energy, that would be fine enough. Without much thought of what was fully going on around him, Macradon would close his eyes and tilt his head backwards and relax. Hirru 0 Posted August 4, 2017 Author #58 Share Posted August 4, 2017 In regards to his Captain, the hunter had few words to give. The notion was sound and gave quite a bit integrity to their next batch of enemies. The tracking mod would allow him a quicker method of gaining hate than awaiting a normal sword art to hopefully make its mark. That being said, they could still have the problem of losing out from many missed attacks, like last time. "That would be a good opener, but what about prolonged fighting. Many opportunities are missed, if the energy required can't be supplied. Lately, I've noticed that energy supplying food items have become scarcely useful. Maybe, at our tier it could be, but the possibility of gains and losses don't seem to add up for those. I heard that some skills may mitigate it, but are they really useful?" He looked over to Mac for more, but remembered that there were two more members resting with them. " @Itzal , @Anemone! What do you two think about it?" The hunter could see far enough to where he thought Hikoru's signature disappeared to, with both reveal and detect to keep any secret mobs from getting the drop on them. It would not do to wait long before joining him in whatever fight he may have found. His energy was mostly recovered, but that may not be true for the others. Instead, he let Mac know what may be coming next. "Mac, ready a Tracking for Hobgoblins. Those seem to be the hardest ones to date." [3/3 Energy Regen Complete]
Itzal 0 Posted August 4, 2017 #59 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Itzal heard his name being called, and while he wasn't originally a part of their conversations thus far, he was always observant and thus knew what they were talking about. "There's a skill called energist but that one isn't really worth getting. Maximized it grants enough for an extra attack, but unless they increase by tier, leveled monsters will render the skill useless. This is because as the player grows stronger, leveled mobs will too. Which means more hits to defeat them. Therefore, it only gives you one additional chance and while that can be useful, it isn't nearly as useful as meditation. Meditation once maxed out, has a chance to retrieve energy further, much like how an item can do such a thing. Unfortunately it requires you to stop other actions. I feel the skill now has a double downfall as there's a small chance to retrieve energy, as well as having to focus on retrieving energy in order to take the chance in the first place. Of course those are just facts. As of now, the best way to keep from loss of energy would be maximizing accuracy and damage, and other combat skills. Of course you're all professionals and already know this." Itzal wasn't like a robot or angry or anything of the sort when he said that. However he did speak calmly and as he needed to. He was a strategist by nature and would tend to over analyze things, so he could be wrong. Most of the skills in this game didn't seem like the usual MMO design. Then again, nothing ever was in this game he thought with a smile. @Hirru
Macradon 0 Posted August 4, 2017 #60 Share Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) Looking over at the Jade Hunter, Macradon would nod and reply “Aye” and would open his <Tracking> HUD up so he could find them as fast as possible so they could just get out of here. This labyrinth run was getting really tedious, he remembered that it was somehow easier when he did it alone, perhaps it was just the incompatibility he had with other guilds, or perhaps just this big of a crowd that wasn’t used to fighting with, but this party wasn’t bigger than most raid parties, so it shouldn’t be that difficult to fit in, maybe it was indeed because it was with another guild, he hadn’t known that guild’s way of doing frontline work, other than how he had been on field trips with Hikoru where they would match each other, but that was it, Macradon hadn’t done anything with the other guild that much, so that might’ve been why he wasn’t able to really make the synergy work between them. < Hobgoblin Tracked > [ 3/3 Out Of Combat ] Edited August 4, 2017 by Macradon
