[F3 - Artisan R3] Crystal Clear

Recommended Posts

"I thought I was supposed to be getting better at this...!" Telrenya rose her voice just slightly before slumping down in her seat, the frustration draining away into melancholy. She sat slouched with her hair tied back into a ponytail and her fingers tired from meticulously setting gemstones and coaxing fine bits of metal to twist and sit in just the right way. Several more amateur pieces of jewelry sat on the workbench in front of her, and for a moment she was tempted to swipe them off the table, throw them on the ground, break them down until their durability hit zero and there was nothing left of them.

No, that wouldn't solve anything. Heaving a large and heavy sigh, Telrenya scooped her failed attempts into her inventory like all the rest, wondering this time if the NPC vendors would give her even a single col this time.

-Elucia Attire-

Elucia passed a grand cafe to a building that looked quite plain compared to its neighbor. There was supposed to be an Artisan shop right next to a bustling cafe. Hoping she entered in the correct house, the white haired girl dressed in a white cloak with the hood down stepped inside. A golden haired woman sat before her, working with a few materials as she began to try to create a new piece of equipment. Putting on an Elucia smile, the girl stepped forward to the artisan and quickly stated, "I have come to make an order for an item!" She handed the girl a slip stating what she would like. "I will pay you in col when the item has been crafted! By the way, you look lovely!" Her statements would never have been made without assuming her Elucia persona. Of course, the girl look fine, she would have never have pointed it out.

"Can't say I've ever made something quite like this before..." Telrenya mumbled to herself after she looked over the order form Kindling had left for her. Truthfully, the only item she'd crafted before that wasn't a piece of jewelry was that magnifying glass Ryo had commissioned her for. So this shouldn't be too hard, either, she assured herself!

Granted, it took a couple of tries. She was a bit rusty, so she ended up wasting a bit of material while she eased back into the process. A stroke of luck blessed her just as quickly, and she was left with a perfect-quality craft in just minutes. Wiping her brow with a deeply satisfied smile, she put her tools away and opened up a message to Kindling.

Sifting through his small inventory, Kindling was lost in thought. A hand on his chin, his face tilted down eyes turned up as he prepared for what to do next - knowing that danger lie ahead. Travelling alone was rarely a good idea, but with his limited ally pool, and distrust of the skills of others, what was he to do?
Though as if to chastise that view from above, the UI blinked, then came the indication of an incoming message. A message from Telrenya, telling him his order was in. "That was... fast."  Trying not to register his surprise even to himself. It was off to the 4th floor then, to make his payment and collect.

I will be right back there then. Thanks for working so quickly, it really is a boon. Given your price tag, I hope that being able to pay 1 Material, and 700 Col works for you? If not, let me know and we can figure out something more amenable. Moving to the teleport gates now, hopefully not keeping you for too long.

Item: Sahelanthropus collected

Paying: 1 Material, 700 Col as agreed on with Tel.

At this point Vigilon had been wandering in his search for an Artisan shop, he needed to find one quickly. He stumbled upon a plain yet homely establishment. Well, if the sign was anything, this might be a possible chance. With the shelves empty, perhaps it had been getting a lot of business, or maybe the player was just starting out? Well, only one way to find out. He was able to open the door, so that meant something, at least.

Not long after entering, he met eyes with who must have been the shop owner. "Telrenya? Wow, long time no see!" He began. While he'd noticed her name in tournament sheets he was given in terms of matchups, he had yet to see her in person as of the moment. It had been years since their last encounter, if he remembered correctly. "How've you been all these years?" He asked, curious as to what had been keeping her busy all this time. Maybe Vigilon could introduce Telrenya to Krysta sometime, he had a feeling that they might get along. "So, are you taking orders, by any chance? 'cause in general I'm in a bit of a...statistical pickle, so to speak, I was wondering if you'd be able to make a trinket that could help with that." He explained.

A familiar face, unchanged by the passage of time. She'd been seeing more and more of those lately. Amazing what pulling yourself out of your own shell after so long could accomplish. A bright smile broke out on Telrenya's face. "Vigilon! I knew I recognized your name on that tournament sheet." She purposefully hadn't spent much time mingling with the other combatants outside of the arenas so far. She had to wonder if and when the two of them might end up being matched against each other.

"Yes, of course," She paused to look over the stats that he specified. They were important ones, but with all the different types of equipment out there it was hard to make room for the basics anymore. She nodded. "I should be able to get this for you. I want to say that you can come back tomorrow, but...just in case, I'll message you as soon as it's done." She let out an embarrassed chuckle.

The rest of her day was spent working on this intricate coin. At fist, the shape wasn't right--she'd grinded the edges down too far and it was looking lopsided. Then, she had gotten through the most difficult part of carving the tiny details onto each coin face. She just had to use some jewelry cutting wire to carve out the hole to string it on, and... 'crack'. Telrenya practically felt her spirit escape her body when a fracture ran all the way down the middle of the coin. Ruined.

Finally, she'd pulled it off. The felt like the few tries she had to put into it gave her some much-needed experience with carving and shaping metals. The next morning, after a quick polish she held the token aloft between her thumb and forefinger, admiring the glint it gave off of the sunshine through the windows.

The moment Vigilon received word about his item being made, he made a beeline for Telrenya's shop. He arrived to the store, ready to see what handiwork was in store for him. Telrenya revealed the trinket, it was a really nice piece. Sometimes, Vigilon wondered why he would always receive names and descriptions on order forms he was handed, even if the customer in question didn't have anything specific in mind as long as it worked, as Vigilon had done earlier. ...Maybe it was just something the Cardinal did? The system filling in any holes left behind and approximating anything that couldn't be done? Either way, it was an impressive piece, one deserving of a show of gratitude. "Thanks a bunch Telrenya, this is incredible work." Vigilon said with a grin. "Here, and a little extra for all your hard work." He said as he placed a few ingots and a handful of gems on the counter, as both payment and tip. One ingot of pure gold, two ingots of shining silver, then came the gems. A ruby, a topaz, a sapphire, an amethyst, a diamond, an aquamarine and an emerald, all in flawless, pristine condition. "Best of luck to you, Tel, and hope to see you in the brackets!" He added before receiving the item and leaving.

-Received Silver Token(2 ACC, 1 EVA)

-Payment of 10 materials(Cost[6], Tip[4]) sent to @Telrenya
