[F1-OP] The Ivory Sheep (A newcomer enters the field)

Recommended Posts

It wasn't that late when Jason finally managed to find the Pub he had been looking for. He had heard that many adventurers even from the higher floors would be found in the Ivory Sheep right here on the first floor. When he opened the door, he took a deep breath and made sure his short hair was how it should be and that he hadn't equipped his weapon and shield as he had heard that it was rude and he wouldn't want to be rude to those that he hoped to find help from.

So he entered the pub and was overwhelmed by the sounds and smells that hit him like someone just punched him in the face. So the boy with his nearly scottish cloth just stood in the door, looking around and did not know what to do, but just standing there wasn't an option either, so he awkwardly walked to the bar and looked until he found a bartender Hey, can I have a drink? he asked, and his voice showed how unsure he was about nearly everything in here.

Domarus sat on one of the stools by the bar with a short glass of whiskey.  Despite the fact that alcohol did nothing, he tended to drink from time to time.  Keres sat beside him in her typical maid's outfit with a coke, her familiar, a flaming serpent that liked to wrap itself around her, looking at the drink with curiosity.  While Porvós was being the curious creature he was, the red dragon Rhozarth, fires ablaze on him as usual and Domarus' familiar, sat on one of the arches holding the roof up, scanning the players below.  Rhozarth was much like Domarus, but since he was of a lower authority he played sentinel.  Looking for any form of danger, threat, or even potential followers and allies.  Domarus had been fighting monsters for a while and level thirty six was not nearly high enough of a level.  With the rate things were going, he needed to increase the pace and reach level fifty at least.  Even Aereth was a stronger level than him and that little bit he would not stand for.  Domarus heard the door open up and noticed a player who sat beside him, scanning the player up and down without letting the player notice:  Brown hair, Scottish like clothing.  He was surprised to hear the player speak in an unsure tone as he requested a drink.  He was pretty sure the Scottish enjoyed alcoholic drinks.  Or was that the Irish?  Could be both of course.  He chose to act as if he noticed the player only after the request and turned to look at him.  Domarus wasn't in his armor, but a black t-shirt and pants and smiled.

"So what sort of beverage would a Scottish man be interested in?"  He said, inserting a hint of curiosity in his voice to make it seem genuine.

The bleak reflection stared back at him, and Tobias recognized the tired look despite every attempt the game made to distort the truth. Like everyone else, he was pixelated, perfected, and free from the myriad weaknesses real life might have afflicted. There was something in every player's eyes that revealed the truth, however.

His helmet rested on the countertop beside him as he looked inside himself, at memories of the time before Sword Art Online. Memories that reminded him he was still alive, and not just a character on a server like his mind gradually came to believe he was.

The hour had grown late, though. Others who frequented taverns and drank their fill at night would crawl in soon, and his face might be recognized.

Messy blue hair and dark blue eyes slowly disappeared behind his helmet as he stepped back out into public and donned the guise of Vanguard. The simulacra of deep crimson dyed his world bloody, and the other players he could see appeared only as cursors, not names.

But he remembered the face of Domarus.

The two spoke, one more Green than the other for sure. Something about drinks. Vanguard was here primarily to restock consumables, but also, to rest. He took a seat not far from the bar, and rested his arms on the table.

Before the bartender could answer his question another customer, sitting at the bar turned to him, his hair a fiery red and asked him what beverage a Scottish man would be interested. Jason was confused, as he did not really understand the question What is this guy talkin bout? How shall I know about a scots drink? he thought, before he realized, that the man could be asking him, what he wants to drink, as his skaldic armor looked some what scottish. Ya know, I'm not a scots man, but A think he'd have a whiskey. Thinking if he should order a whiskey or not, He had a better look at the guy and he sure seemed to have more experience than him. Next to him there was a second person with some kind of serpent looking at her drink, and as he looked around, he saw a dark dragon sitting somewhere above their heads. I'll take a coke, that's all! Jason said to the bartender who had just turned to him and said that he of course could have a drink and who had further asked him what he wanted. When he had gotten his coke, Jason turned back to the redhead and said Ma name`s Jade Eye, nice to meet ya!

Teleporting to the Floor 1 gate Kyoto decided to go the nearest pub. Walking into the pub Kyoto looks around seeing a lot of players and NPC sitting around having a great time. Walking over to the bar Kyoto sits near the end kind of away from the other three as he asks the bartender for a class of whiskey. Even though Kyoto isn't much of a drinker he does like to socialize while he does but at this point in time he didn't have anyone to socialize with.

Looking down at the class the bartender handed him he started to play with the ring around the class hearing a very low monotone sound from it. Kyoto appetence looks kind of down but there's nothing wrong with him. With his black coat hanging off the edge of the seat and you can see the black shirt with the starter iron chest plate as he is kind of facing is torso towards the other three.

Noticing there was another player coming in and sitting at the bar even though on the other end, Jason raised his eye to the new arrival, scanning if he was one of the tough and strong ones, or one who was as low level as he was. The players black shirt and the iron chest plate looked like he had starter gear, so he probably was a newbe just like him, he wouldn't be of much help with anything in the future. Jason looking back at down noticed the bartender had already brought his coke. As he had nothing more to say, and there was much to see in the pub, he took the glass, drank some of its content and looked around, speculating who of them guests were players and who where merely NPCs, and if they were players, how strong they might be. At a table, not far from the counter a player in armor hat taken a seat and it kinda looked like he was staring at them, even though it was hard to say with him wearing a helmet in here.

Domarus listened as the player mentioned how he wasn't Scottish and ordered nothing but a coke.  That told Domarus that either he refused to have alcohol, or he was underage, probably the latter.  He introduced himself as Jade Eye, an unusual name and Domarus shook his hand.  This player was definitely green.  A low leveled player who didn't quite understand the world yet.  Not even that, he was far from understanding the true nature of the world in general.  It was sad really.  How many players, humans in this world and the real world, who did whatever they could to keep their little bubble of protection safe.

"Nice to meet you Jade.  My name is Domarus.  This is a friend of mine.  Her name is Keres."  He heard a low rumbling sound like that of an animal and knew that Rhozarth spotted someone.  Even if the others looked for the source of the noise, it would take skill to spot him.  He leaned back in his chair and was about to continue to speak to the player when another player sat down at the bar and cocked an eyebrow with a chuckle.

"Well, I must have missed the party invite."  He gave a light laugh and used it as an opportunity to scan the room, spotting the player in black armor at last.  To this it took extremely great effort not to narrow his eyes in frustration.  The player's armor was exactly like Domarus'.  Not a shred of difference.  This meant that Domarus would need to come up with a new Hopebreaker set, and he needed to do it fast.  This was something he truly hated and he would ensure that his next set was not something others would just happen to craft identical to his own by chance.  His would permanently be unique.  He looked at the armored player, keeping a kind yet curious face on, even disguising the look in his eyes as curious.  When in reality he was beyond curious.  He insisted on discovering this player's identity, the player who mimicked his own style of armor.  Granted he had the Sovereign armor now, but that wasn't like Hopebreaker.
