Daeron 1 Posted April 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Daeron sent a player Kane a message asking him if he would like to spar with him. Daeron had recently murdered a player, but had no desire to kill Kane. Daeron then sent Kane a request to Duel. Daeron Has Challenged You To A Duel. Kane 0 Posted April 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2014 At the seventh floor settlement of Nimbus, Kane was getting ready to duel Daeron. The challenge floated in front of him, and he pressed the <> key. Their duel would officially begin in thirty seconds. Unslinging his great blade, <>, Kane made a mental checklist of his defenses and offensive options: - <>: -1 to Critical Hit Damage taken. - <>: +1 to Hit, -1 to enemy's hit chance. This would influence the duel slightly. Assuming a forward stance, Kane prepared himself for the timer to hit zero. <> --------------------------------------------
Kane 0 Posted April 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2014 When the timer reached zero, Kane was ready. Dashing forward, he infused his blade with cerulean light as he activated a Sword Skill. His immense sword spun as he leapt forward, intending to bring it crashing into Daeron's torso! -------------------------- He wasn't quick enough to hit him, though, and he regained control of his blade, bringing it into a defensive position. Daeron 1 Posted April 28, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Daeron watched the countdown reach 0, and the duel was on. Before Daeron could react, Kane was already striking at his torso. Luckily, Daeron's reaction time was in time because he avoided the attack without a scratch. Daeron then pulled out his weapon, Blade of the Sepulcher (+1 Damage Dealt with any hit), and rushed in at the player. The surge of energy within his weapon felt like an electric circuit, but it didn't hurt. Instead, it only made his muscles more tense, allowing him to attack with stronger blows. Combat Dice: 7 - 1 From Kane's Weapon New Combat Dice: 6 (1 Damage + 1 From Weapon) Since It's not a critical, the damage dealt remains at 2. The attack went directly at Kane's dominant arm, as it was easily determinable by seeing which hand the player holds his weapon in. Daeron then struck the arm, leaving a red gash on his bicep now. The pixels spilled throughout the air, but disappeared within a matter of seconds after the hit. Kane 0 Posted April 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Kane grit his teeth as Daeron's sword cut across his bicep. It bit deeply, and Kane could tell that his opponent's sword had been enhanced. He was at a disadvantage against the higher-level Player, but he would still give this duel his best shot. Spinning away from his enemy's sword side, Kane stepped backwards out of his opponent's reach, arcing his long blade from bottom to top in an effort to slice Daeron across his sword arm. ------------------ (Roll= 8+1=9) His two-handed blade's massive flared tip caught his opponent under his shoulder, gouging a deep crimson line across it as Kane spun his blade back into an -en guarde- formation. A critical hit! At least this duel wouldn't be a shutout. Kane: 17 HP Daeron: 21 HP
Daeron 1 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Daeron felt the wound open up under his shoulder, but refused to let this be all he could handle. When the opportunity seemed grand, he swung his sword at his opponent's torso, more the upper chest area, hoping to induce pain in the player's upper body, then working down to the lower body. Combat Dice: 6 (2 Damage) - 1 From Kane's Weapon New Combat Dice: 5 (Miss) Although the attack went through at first hitting the player, the attack didn't actually do any harm to him as the tip of his blade had only managed to rip the clothes. Kane 0 Posted April 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Daeron's blade had sheared a line across his tunic, but hadn't actually done damage. It was an opportunity for a counterattack! Kane rolled sideways, away from Daeron's sword side, and swung a backhanded strike at his foe's rear! ----------------- His strike clanked off of Daeron's blade, having been parried by his opponent. Kane assumed another defensive stance, looking for any weak spots in his opponent's posture. Kane: 17 HP Daeron: 21 HP
Daeron 1 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Daeron's stance had shifted from being an defensive posture to a different, but offensive posture. He then, lunged his body forward at the player with his weapon pointing directly at Kane's stomach. Battle Dice: 10 (3 Damage) -1 From Kane's Weapon -1 Damage From Kane's Armor New Battle Dice: 9 (2 Damage) The attack was a huge success as the weapon had actually impaled the player's stomach, but so Daeron doesn't end the fight right there, he pulled out his weapon to give Kane an opportunity as this is a spar and is intended for practice, not for killing, so he released his attack and readied himself for the next strike at him. Kane 0 Posted April 29, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Kane staggered as Daeron removed the blade from his torso. His armor had slowed the blade's penetration slightly, but it still hadn't been pleasant to be run through like that. He raised his blade, charging it with a viridian green glow as he unleashed a flurry of strikes! --------------------------------- Unfortunately, the gaping red gash in his torso slowed him considerably, and his strikes weren't getting through Daeron's defenses. Daeron 1 Posted April 30, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Watching as Kane struggled with his very own attack was a sight to marvel at for Daeron, as this showed that he was weakening already. Taking up the open spot between the lack of attacks, Daeron took his sword and went for another slash across his chest. Battle Dice: 3 -1 From Kane's Weapon New Battle Dice: 2 Although the enemy was hurt, Daeron's attack still missed with a good dodge from Kane and his reflexes. Kane 0 Posted April 30, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 30, 2014 While Kane had been slowed by his chest wound, he still had years of martial arts training to fall back on. Ducking under Daeron's last sword swipe, he brought his massive blade around to hack at the side of his opponent's leg! ----------------- (8+1=9) His war sword cleaved an angry red path through Daeron's right leg, passing through the majority of it as his critical hit struck home. Daeron 1 Posted April 30, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Daeron refused to let a simple weapon's attack harm him enough to a point where he can't act anymore. Instead, he went to swing his weapon at his opponent at the same time feeling the attack on his leg. He pointed his sword downwards at Kane's back and thrusted down towards it hoping to impale him again. Battle Dice: 10 (3 Damage) -1 Kane's Weapon -1 Damage From Armor New Battle Dice: 9 (2 Damage) The well timed attack was a success as he had managed to thrust through his back and pulled it back out, now able to see a hole in his chest and his stomach. It was obvious that Kane was injured, but he was still unwilling to go down without a fight. Kane 0 Posted April 30, 2014 #13 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Kane grit his teeth again as his opponent's blade pierced him. Fortune was not favoring him in this engagement, and he was grateful for the fact that his life wasn't on the line here. Concentrating on ignoring the phantom pains that sprung from his mind believing he'd been injured, Kane suddenly leapt into the air, the <> skill allowing him to mimic an Olympic high-jumper's height as he brought his blade down, attempting to pierce his opponent from above. -------------------- (5+1=6) The flared tip of Kane's sword slashed Daeron's arm from shoulder to hand, but didn't run his opponent through. Kane kept his blade high, awaiting his opponent's next move. Daeron [18/23] - HP must hit 12 to lose Kane [13/19] - HP must hit 9 to lose
Daeron 1 Posted May 2, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted May 2, 2014 Daeron felt a sharp sting on his shoulder and let out a grunt. "I do admit, you're a good opponent" he said as he tried to distract his target with a true compliment. In all actuality, Daeron meant it. He swung his weapon at the player's right leg aiming for the Achilles Tendin. Battle Dice: 1 not gonna bother with math '.' As Daeron aimed for a very tiny target, it was a gamble and had missed as it should have. Aiming at a small area was a risky move, but could prove to be deadly if successful. Kane 0 Posted May 2, 2014 #15 Share Posted May 2, 2014 Kane grinned as he side-stepped the strike at his tendon. His opponent was very clever, talking to distract him while aiming at a vital target like that. However, having just been run through several times, Kane didn't know how much more that having his Achilles Heel injured would do. He gracefully took a few steps back, nodding his head respectfully to Daeron. "You have me at a disadvantage, friend. Your skills are also quite impressive!" His blade glowed with an amber blaze, and he dashed forward rapidly, arcing his blade in an attempt to cleave his opponent's head with his war sword! ------------------------- (5+1=6) Kane wasn't able to take his opponent's head off, but then again he wasn't really trying to. Daeron pulled his head back out of the blade's path, but its immense length made it possible for him to leave a long, digital line across his upper chest area instead. Daeron 1 Posted May 4, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted May 4, 2014 Daeron felt the rip across his neck, in fact, the injuries on his body ached more and more, and he saw that his health bar almost matched Kane's, meaning that he could potentially lose this fight still, however Daeron had no time to wait for such an attack. He waited for his weapon to glow yellow and he announced his sword skill. <>! Daeron 1 Posted May 4, 2014 Author #17 Share Posted May 4, 2014 Battle Over! Daeron is the Winner! Said the system announcement between the two players. Daeron had a crown above his head now claiming him to be a winner. He then turned over to Kane and shook his hand. "Congratulations, good fight by the way. I look forward to fighting you again in the future, where we're both stronger." Daeron said as he walked away not caring about what Kane had to say to him in return. Although it was a close fight, Daeron was still stronger, and won, like he should have been expected to.
Kane 0 Posted May 4, 2014 #18 Share Posted May 4, 2014 Kane nodded, about to say something in return. Instead, Daeron walked away. Angrily, Kane spat to one side, his HP bar in the yellow. "Sure, good match..." He trailed off, shaking his head. His opponent had been quite good, but beyond that, fortune had just not favored him in this match. There was no use in getting bent out of shape about it. Still, Daeron was a tactless and rude individual, and he wouldn't be making terribly many friends with that kind of attitude. I'll get stronger... And one day, you won't be so lucky. Turning and hanging his broadsword across his back, Kane limped to a bench on the side of the street, closing his eyes and allowing his <> skill to slowly repair the damage. Until then, it's up to me to survive this digital wasteland.
